Jan. 17, 7:00 am, Prefect’s Bathroom
Kagumi emerged out of the enormous bathtub and began draining the water out of it. Draco followed her, slipping his arms around her small waist. She laughed softly and threw a towel over his head; using the distraction, she ran to get a black bathrobe she had brought with them. He threw the wet towel at her playfully.
“That’s not fair!”
“All is fair in Love and War…and right now, we’re in both…”
“Wow, what a mood-killer that was…” he shook his head as she walked out of the bathroom.
Jan. 17, 10:23 am, Dungeons, Snape’s Classroom
Double-Potions...is ten different levels of SUCK... Kagumi had picked up her bag in annoyance, checking for a sketchbook. Snape swooped past her and Draco’s cauldron as she was rummaging while swearing under her breath. He sneered at her, even though her potion was finished.
“And what do you think you’re doing, Falcon?”
“What does it look like, Snivellus?” Kagumi snapped back, much to the amusement of the Gryffindors of the class. Harry snorted behind his snake-scale covered hands and Jade ducked behind her book-bag so as not to let Snape see that she was laughing at him.
Snape’s normally sallow face produced a magnificent shade of crimson, even as he wrung the dead snake in his hands. “And what’s that in your bag?” he asked, as her hand caught a small white thing wrapped in paper.
“It’s a tampon…need one?” This insult made the class snicker even more.
“Falcon…one last time. What’s in the bag?”
“Oh, I dunno, Snivvy. Daggers, Narcotics, stolen jewels that once belonged to the Queen…a small Illegal Immigrant if you want him?” Snape flushed in a way that no one thought possible. His glared icy beams at her, but she seemed not to notice as she finally pulled out her sketchbook.
“Go to Hell…” he swore.
“Great! Meet you at the corner of Fire and Brimstone at three o’clock on Thursday?” Snape growled and twisted the snake in half, storming away; he was breathing heavily and not noticing where he was going. A small spell by Jade caused the good professor to trip and accidentally throw the snake halves into the cauldron at the front, causing a large and smoky bang.
Draco began vacuuming away all the brightly colored smoke when he choked on laughter and fell off of his stool. Kagumi pointed the rest of the class towards Snape and the ten-foot radius of Neville Longbottom’s Cauldron.
Every single person within that radium had glowing neon hair, the likes of which Harry had only seen once before on a punk on the London Underground. Neville’s was a bright blue; many had glowing green. But Snape had possibly the worst insult of all….Bright Bubble-Gum Pink hair…
The two girls secretly high-fived each other as Snape bellowed that it was time for lunch, fifteen minutes earlier than usual. The class scampered out, whispering excitedly about their classmate’s new hair and how much Snape could legally punish them for without getting charged for cruelty to Children.

Jan. 17, 11:47am, Entrance Hall
"Gumi, I would say that I am surprised that Snape didn't give you detention", Jade said, with a chuckle.
"I am too, kinda", Gumi replied. "But I doubt that he will."
While everyone went on into the Great Hall, Harry snuck up behind Jade and wrapped his arms around her and kissed her neck.
"Alright love", Harry said. "What do you want to do for lunch?"
"Mmm, I would love to have you for my lunch", Jade said, running her hand up the inside of Harry left leg and then over his thigh. "But, alas, I have to consign myself to the depths of the library and get my large History of Magic essay done before class after lunch."
She took her hand away, gave him a kiss on the cheek and left up the stairs. As Harry walked into the Great Hall, he had to drape his cloak around his middle as his pants had gotten rather tighter from what Jade did.
Jan. 17, 11:53am, Great Hall
"Hey mate", Ron said as Harry sat down. "Where's the little missus?"
Hermione smacked Ron upside the back of his head when he said this. "Ronald!", she said. "You're lucky Jade didn't hear you say that, or you'd be peeling yourself off the wall. Where is she, by the way?"
"She said she had to go up to the library to finish her History of Magic essay before class", Harry answered.
Jan. 17, 11:54am, Gryffindor Girls' Dorm
Jade felt bad about lieing to Harry but had something that she wanted to do. She locked herself in the Girl's dorm room and had taken out all of her potion making stuff.
"Now one Ashwinder egg", she muttered, reading off a list of ingredients that she had made up. "A pinch of dried Chamomile tea leaves, a drop of syrup of Hellebore and a pinch of powered Moonstone." She stirred the liquid in the cauldron ten times to the left and then fifteen times to the right, producing a puff blue steam. "Now add a bit of sneezewort, scurvy-grass and lovage", she said, then stirred the potion again as she had just done but instead of getting a puff of blue steam, she got a puff of red smoke. "Add a sprig of peppermint, a Jobberknoll feather and lastly, a teaspoon of powered oyster and a Harry hair."
Jade stirred the potion once again as before and got a large poof of red steam. "Ah-ha, it's done", she said, taking the potion and dispensing it into a large flask, and what didn't fit, went into a small vial. "A shift of the wrist, add some time to fuse, and this big guy is mine to use", she said in a sing-songy way. She slipped the vial up her sleeve and walked down to the Great Hall, where everyone was still having lunch.
Jan. 17, 12:30pm, Great Hall
"Hello all", Jade said, sitting down at the Gryffindor table next to Harry.
Harry gave her a kiss. "Hey you", he said. "You done already?"
"Yup", she answered. "I didn't have as much to do as I thought."
She secretively pulled the potion vial a bit out of her sleeve and uncorked it, but stopped the potion from coming out with her finger.
"Hey, Gumster", Jade said, leaning across Harry so that he couldn't see her put the potion in his drink. "Was the magical Battle of Serbia in 1672 or 1530?"
"1530", Gumi answered. "The last Goblin/Troll battle was in 1672."
"Oh, good", Jade said, leaning back. "Then I got it right."
Jan. 17, 10:00pm, Gryffindor Girls' Dorm
Jade, Hermione and Gumi were all rushing about in their dorm room, which had beachy clothes all over the floor, as they tried to find something to wear to the pool party. Ginny, Lavender, Pravati, Padma and Luna were in their too, as they were also coming to the pool party, along with Seamus, Dean, Neville, Ernie, Colin and Savean was invited too, but they weren't sure if he was going to come or not. "What do you think?", Gumi asked, holding up two swimming suits. "The one that's more red than black or the one that's more black that red?"
"Wear the red/black top with the black/red bottom", Jade said. "It'll make you look bi-colored."
"Well?", Hermione said, stepping out from behind the changing tri-fold curtain, in a sexy purple bikini. "Am I hot, or am I hot?"
The other girls gapped at her for a moment before doing multiple wolf whistles and hooting at her.
"YEOW! LOOK OUT, SEXY MAMA!", Jade said, laughing. "TAKE IT OFF!"
Gumi gave another wolf whistle. "WHOO-HOO!", she shouted, clapping. "OW! MOVE IT, SEXY! OW, OW, OOOOOW!"
After they settled down, Jade stepped into the bathroom and slipped into her favorite electric blue two piece swimming suit, then tied her long brown hair back into a pony-tail, that still reached to the middle of her back.
Jan. 17, 11:30pm, Prefect's Bathroom
The Prefect's Bathroom looked like a beach. The floors were covered in sand, the walls and ceiling didn't look like walls and a ceiling at all, but rather as if they were taken down and everyone was on a sunny beach looking out on the ocean.

Jan. 17, 11:31 pm, Prefect’s Bathroom
Kagumi sighed contentedly, waving her wand and easily conjuring a UV lamp. She set it up in a corner and dragged a lay-out chair underneath it. Shedding her robe without a moment of hesitation, she flopped down on the chair and opened a book from her bag. Draco watched her as much as he could from the tri-fold screen she had surrounded the lamp with and finally gave up, diving into the pool, which was as fresh and cool as the ocean.
Jade was splashing around with Harry, who was beginning to act weird. Hermione was swimming underwater, only coming up once and a while to refresh her Bubble-head Charm. Ron was watching Hermione with a sort of pained expression on his face and had a towel draped over his legs as he sat in the sand.
Everything went smoothly for about an hour, with everyone talking and laughing, when the door burst open and a shadow slunk along one of the magical walls. Kagumi poked her now-bronze head over the screen and waved. “Hey, Savean!”
The figure looked up and took off its sunglasses to reveal bi-colored eyes. “Hey, Kagumi. I thought you said there was going to be sunlight?” The girl waved a tawny hand towards her lamp and smiled, revealing white teeth that glowed against her dark skin.
“I brought a UV lamp so that I could get some sun, but you could stay…comfortable,” she smirked and disappeared into her book again, turning over. Savean slowly shed his coat, leaving his pants, jacket, shirt and tie on, as well as his gloves and boots. Kagumi noticed this and smirked at her sister. Together, they waved their hands at him; without warning, all of his clothes had vanished and were replaced by a pair of black swimming trunks. He glared at the two giggling sisters while the Gryffindor girls ogled him.
His chest was scarred, but handsome and muscular. His arms were carried without gravity seeming to touch them. A straight back, long and muscular legs and powerfully built shoulders finished off the male-model look. His long black hair was tied in a ponytail with a leather strap and his normal jewelry was still on him. Lavender pointed at him and Parvati and Padma both stared coyly. Kagumi closed her book with a sigh and marched over to the girls.
“Look,” she told them in a very dangerous voice. “That’s my friend. He’s a person, not eye-candy. Either treat him like one…or put your eyes back in your heads, roll up those tongues that are hanging out, and grow the -BLEEP- up…”
The Gryffindors looked scandalized and the two Ravenclaws appeared haughtily uncaring. Kagumi grinned and threw Luna into the pool as a joke, then dived in herself. She came up behind Draco and Harry, who was still acting odd, and dunked both of their heads under the water before twisting away underwater. It was then that Hermione came up, countered the charm distorting her face, and suggested that they all play a Muggle pool-game called Marco Polo. After explaining the rules, the entire group agreed. Kagumi watched a wide grin spread over Savean’s face and was wondering whether to warn everyone or not, but decided against it. She just leveled a Death Glare at him that easily told him to be careful of what he did around the group. He nodded slightly, and then grinned even wider when the peculiarly-acting Harry was picked as “Marco”.
Harry was blindfolded and made to turn around three times in the water and then to try and find people. Usually, Harry’s abnormally fast Quidditch reflexes would allow him to win the game. However, he wasn’t acting normal and as such, he couldn’t really find anyone. Savean was nowhere to be found, even when the twins looked around. Every time he went underwater, he popped in a completely different place and it was beginning to drive Harry crazy.
“I’ve got you now, you fiend!" he called, about to close his hand around Savean’s leg. But Savean twisted away from him and popped up almost twenty feet away from him, laughing quietly. Harry slapped the water in frustration and it soon turned into a game of Tag Savean, where everyone would try their best to find him…needless to say, it didn’t work well. Only Jade and Kagumi were able to corner him, and by then, Ron had been turned into “Marco”.

Jan. 18, 1:07 A.M., Prefects Bathroom.
Savean enjoyed worm-holing from one place to another, avoiding everyone. It was fun to see their faces when he disappeared. When Ron became Marco, Savean slowed down a bit, allowing people to have a chance at getting him but he still wouldn’t let them succeed totally. For being a vampire, Savean was actually a really good swimmer…despite local lore of vampires being weak to water.
Of course the girls continued to giggle, all except for Jade, Kagumi, and obviously Hermione. Eventually, everyone became tired of trying to catch Savean and decided to try high diving. With a wave of Jade’s wand, a gigantic diving board appeared in the middle of the water and several began to climb and dive. Savean, on the other hand, went to the beach and lay out for a while resting and regaining his energy. He hadn’t this much fun… ever. He never really had close friends besides Charles and he wasn’t here.
Honestly, he liked the attention because he never had it since he was a small child, but that didn’t mean he wanted to keep it. Thus was the reason he laid out. It was time for others to have the spotlight and for now that other would be…Ron, surprisingly. No one had ever realized it, but Ron was a surprisingly good diver and was capable of several flips. Every now and then, Savean would look at people and he noticed something: whenever Ron would get up top, Hermione, who was reading, would watch him…but not the others. The other girls were diving as well and every now and then, one of them would wave at Savean before they would jump. As much as these girls waved and flirted and giggled, Savean wasn’t very interested in them, though he was still lonely.
He had never had a companion and it seemed that many here did. Jade was with the infamous Harry Potter, Kagumi was with Draco Malfoy, Hermione would eventually be with Ron if the two of them would ever admit to liking each other, but Savean was alone. The other girls were very annoying and he didn’t like them staring at him.
After a couple hours everyone lay out on the sand and relaxed, couples in each other’s arms, some reading, and if you were Ron, you were sleeping. Eventually the door swung open and a pug faced looking girl, whom Savean had never known before, and by the looks of it he didn’t want to, walked in with a sneer.
“Hello everyone!” the annoying girl shouted in her hideous pink and green swimming suit.
“I’m here and the party can now start!” She walked over to Draco and swung her hair at him, causing him to sneeze. Kagumi started a low growl that got larger the longer the girl stayed. Draco stood up furiously and started to shout for her to get away from him and Kagumi.
“I don’t love you,” Draco began, “and you weren’t invited! Now you leave me and Kagumi alone, or I’ll make you!” Draco searched for his wand and realized that he left it with his clothes. Pansy raised her fist and began to threaten him.
“If you don’t do what you say I’ll make you wish you did.” She snarled. Kagumi shot up from the ground and created a fireball in her two hands.
“Pansy, if you don’t leave us alone I’ll send you to a whole new dimension of pain where you’ll wish you really were a pug so that I would have pity on you!”
With a loud “Humph”, Pansy started to leave until she saw Savean, who was propped up slightly on his elbows to see what the commotion was. She glanced back at Malfoy and went over to Savean in what seemed like an attempt to make Malfoy jealous; it worked miserably.
“Why hello there.” Pansy said in her most seductive voice. “I don’t believe I’ve seen you before.” Her nauseating voice made him inwardly cringe.
“Go away.” Savean said to her.
“What big boy, don’t you want some of this?” She began to squeeze her misshapen breasts together, trying to herself look sexy; again it failed miserably. Savean had little patience for this kind of thing. He stood up and grabbed her by the throat, lifting her in the air. He bared his teeth at her, showing her his nature but he was too far away from everyone else to see.
“Leave. If you come back I’ll take your throat and have a nice dinner of pug soup.”
He threw her trough a wormhole sending her to the lake where it was freezing. He went back to his human form and lay back down while everyone paused and then cheered that she was gone.

Jan. 18, 1:30am, Prefect's Bathroom
"Alright!", Jade called out, standing up next to Harry, who was laying in the sand, and still acting weird. "Time for some karaoke!"
"Cool!", most everyone said together.
Jade and Gumi set up a magical microphone, a karaoke monitor and a small raised stage. They set up three small tables for everyone to sit at. Harry was now starting to see double of everything and was weaving a bit when he walked but none of the others really noticed, except Jade, who was looking for it. Hermione had just taken to the small stage when Jade saw Harry starting to really take to the potion she gave him.
"I still hear your voice when you sleep next to me. I still feel your touch in my dreams (my dreams). Forgive me my weakness, But I don't know why, Without you it's hard to survive.
'Cause every time we touch, I get this feeling. And every time we kiss, I swear I could fly. Can't you feel my heart beat fast? I want this to last. 'Need you by my side. 'Cause every time we touch, I feel the static. And every time we kiss, I reach for the sky. Can't you hear my heart beat so? I can't let you go. 'Want you in my life.
Your arms are my castle, Your heart is my sky, They wipe away tears that I cry (I cry). The good and the bad times, We've been through them all, You make me rise when I fall.
'Cause every time we touch, I get this feeling. And every time we kiss, I swear I could fly. Can't you feel my heart beat fast? I want this to last. 'Need you by my side", Hermione finished, singing the last note along with the rest of the notes, perfectly.
Everyone applauded her, as she sat down, then Jade got up. They applauded her also, except Harry, who was all but standing on his seat, whooping and hollering at her.
"Whoo! Go, girl! Shake that thang!", He yelled. When he stopped yelling Jade began.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah
Always been told that I've got too much pride Too independent to have you by my side Then my heart said all of you will see Just won't live for someone until he lives for me Never thought I would find love so sweet Never thought I would meet someone like you Well now I've found you and I tell you no lie This love I've got for you Could take me 'round the world Now show me love
Show me love, show me life Baby show me what it's all about You're the one that I ever needed Show me love and what it's all about, alright
Don't waste this love I wanna give to you Tell me what you got, show me what you can do Show me love, show me everything I know you've got potential So baby let me in and show me love
Show me love, show me life (alright) Baby show me what it's all about You're the only one that I ever needed (show me love) Show me love and what it's all about, alright", Jade sang, but this isn't what Harry saw.
The potion that Jade gave him at breakfast the day before had an hallucinogen in it, which was now in full effect. All Harry did, was sit in his chair, his eyes glazed over, seeing, not Jade in her blue swim suit and blue wrap, instead, Jade in a tight red leather top with leather strands hanging down and a pair of sexy, ultra tight black leather pants. Also, she wasn't on stage, she was up on the table in front of him, dancing around in a way that made his swim shorts go from loose to tight.
"Show me love, (oh, show me life) Baby show me what it's all about (what it's all about) You're the one that I ever needed Show me love and what it's all about, alright
Show me love baby Show me everything you've got and show me life Show me love baby Show me everything and what it's all about
You're the one, the only one I ever needed Show me love and what it's all about, alright I'll love you I'll miss you I'll make sure Everything will be alright I'll give you my heart if you just give me love Every day and every night Show me love, (yeah) Show me life (alright) Baby show me what it's all about (me what it's all about) You're the one that I ever needed (show me love)
Show me love and what it's all about, alright Oh Show me love, show me life (alright) Baby show me what it's all about You're the one that I ever needed Show me love and what it's all about, alright", she finished.
Harry stood up, whooping and hollering again, as, in his hallucination, Jade got down off the table, flashed him and then jumped, buck naked in the pool. Harry, who believed this was real, followed "her" into the pool, but kept his swim shorts on, thankfully. Meanwhile, Jade had just sat down in her seat where she had been sitting before.
"I think I added a bit too big of a sprig of peppermint", Jade thought.
Silently agreeing to not ask what was going on with Harry, they put a sound proofing bubble around Harry, and continued on with the party and singing. Savean, who had been watching all of this, started thinking up ways on why Harry would all of a sudden act this way.
Jan. 18, 3:40am, Seventh Floor
It wasn't until 3:30 that morning that everyone started to get tired and, in the case of Ron, pass out where he stood, causing him to fall face first in the sand. When this started to happen, everyone started trickling back to the Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Gryffindor dorms. Ten minutes later, after Ron and Hermione were next to last to leave the Prefect's Bathroom, Jade grabbed Harry and began to weave him up the stairs to the seventh floor, where she had to sit him on the floor so that she could regain her breath.
"You, really need to start rejecting potions, dude", Jade said, panting slightly.
"Hey, baby", Harry said, in a kind of slurred voice. "Wanna go back to my room so we can get it on?"
"Well, I will say that potion made you more straight forward", Jade said, picking Harry back up.
Jan. 18, 3:50am, Gryffindor Common Room
Good for Jade, everyone hadn't stayed in the common room, but went striaght up to bed, where they most likely fell asleep right away. She layed Harry down on the couch, but when she went to go up to bed, he grabbed her around the waist and pulled her on top of him.
"Jadie", Harry said softly. "I don't think anyone would hear us, if we started having sex down here."
"Ok, you, are in desperate need of a nap", Jade said, with a chuckle knowing that once he went to sleep he would revert back to his normal self. She tried to get up, but Harry kept her where she was.
"As long as it involves you and me and a bucket of chocolate syrup, I'm all for it", he said, licking her neck.
"Honey, seriously, lemme go", Jade said, but he didn't do anything except start to untie her wrap that was around her waist. "Harry, I'm, serious. Let me go."
"No chance", he said, as he slipped his hand up and slide both of her swim top straps off her shoulders.
She struggled against him for a few minutes before she found that she had no alternative. WHAM! She punched Harry hard in the face. He fell back onto the couch, and she ran up to bed, where Gumi, Hermione, Ginny and Pravati were already asleep.
Jan. 18, 8:55am, Gryffindor Boys' Dorm
Harry awoke later that morning in his bed, with a massive headache. He got up and went into the bathroom. When he looked into the mirror, he saw that the part of his face by his left eye was covered in one gigantic bruise. When he came back out, none of the other guys were in there and Jade sitting on his bed.
"Hey. What're you doing up here?", he asked sitting on his trunk at the end of his bed close to her.
She didn't say anything at first, but instead, she brought her hand up to the large bruise on his face. "That doesn't look too good", she said, gently running her finger across and around the bruise. "Does it hurt?"
"Oh, only when I'm awake", he answered. "I just wish I knew where I got it."
"Uh, sadly", Jade said, not looking at him. "I did that."
"What?", Harry asked. "I know I'm gonna regret this, but, why and what did I do to get this?" Jade went through the whole thing about her making and giving him the potion and what she thought it was going to do, what it actually did and what he did because of it. "Uh-huh", he said. "I'm, uh, surprisingly not mad. I'm, uh, actually kind of flattered."
"Huh. Well, if it's any consolation, we can do what you wanted to do last night", Jade said, scooting up and laying down on the bed but propping her top half against the headboard of his bed.
"You know, I don't remember what that was", Harry said, crawling up the bed and up to her so that he was on all fours over her. "Refresh my memory."
She clapped her hands twice and the room went dark. "Gladly."

Jan. 18, 8:57 am, Boy’s Dorm
A bunch of moaning, kissing and ripping of cloth later, Jade straddled Harry, the sheet pulled up around her hips and her nails digging into his waist. She tossed her hair back and drew blood as the door flew open.
“Jadie, Love…I need to know something…” Kagumi's voice came. And then in came her sister, as Jade and Harry both froze utterly, with her head buried in a book. Jade cleared her throat and spoke, trying not to shake.
“Yes, Gumi?”
“It says here that DragonRiders weren’t seen for over two centuries…yet it clearly mentions a DragonRider coming down a mountain to ‘help’ in that battle of Graphook vs. Obvdeucir in 1946! Do you remember anything about that from training?”
“Umm…” Jade struggled for words, trying not to think about Harry lying beneath her. “Um…no. not really. Why don’t you go ask Savean?”
"I think I will…have fun with Harry,” Kagumi said, exiting the door singing a parody of the British National Anthem. “God attack the queen, send big dogs after her that bite her bum…”
Jade sighed, looked down and cringed. Harry’s face didn’t look very pleasant, and when he slid away from her, he looked actually angry.

Jan. 18, 8:59am, Gryffindor Boys' Dorm
Jade got out of bed, got dressed and brushed her hair. "Excuse me, sweetie, I must go kill my sister", Jade said, walking over to the door.
Harry watched the door close and then, within moments he heard Jade and Gumi yelling at each other at the top of their lungs. He threw his pants on and didn't even bother with anything else before leaving the boy's dorm. He stopped at the balcony, where Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Parvati and some other students were standing, looking down into the common room, where Jade and Gumi were standing not ten feet from each other, screaming at the other as if at opposite ends of the Quiddich field.
Jan. 18, 9:01am, Gryffindor Common Room
"YOU JUST CAN'T STAND THE FACT THAT I HAVE SOMETHING THAT YOU WANT!", Jade screamed.
"WRONG!", Gumi yelled. "I WANTED HIM BEFORE!"
"OH, WELL, GO RIGHT AHEAD AND TRY TO CONVINCE YOURSELF OF THAT!", Jade screamed back at Gumi. "YOU STILL HAD BETTER LEARN TO KNOCK BEFORE WALKING INTO ROOM!"
"WHAT?! YOU GIVIN' ME ORDERS NOW?!", Gumi yelled.
"YES!", Jade shouted. "YOU KNEW WHAT WE WERE DOING, AND YET YOU STILL BARGED RIGHT IN!"
"WELL, IT'S NOT LIKE I WOULD'VE SEEN ANYTHING NEW!", Gumi shouted back.
"THAT STILL DOESN'T GIVE YOU THE AUTHORITY TO JUST WALK IN ON PEOPLE!", Jade screamed. "HAVE YOU EVER ONCE SEEN OR HEARD ME BARGE IN ON YOU AND YOUR BOYFRIEND?! HUH?! NO! YOU HAVEN'T! YOU KNOW WHY?! BECAUSE I ACTUALLY HAVE THE COMMON SENSE NOT TO DO IT, WHEREAS IT'S JUST SOMETHING, OH, SO NATURAL FOR YOU TO JUST WANNA JUMP RIGHT UP TO SEE TWO PEOPLE GOIN' AT IT!"
"SO, YOU'RE SAYING I'M INAPPROPRIATE?!", Gumi yelled.
"I think right now, for you, inappropriate would be an improvement", Jade said, crossing her arms.
"ENOUGH!", Harry yelled from the balcony. "I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE! YOU AND GUMI CONSTANTLY FIGHTING OVER ME, YOURSELVES AND EVERY OTHER LITTLE THING! IT'S SICKENING!"
"Well, if that's how you feel", Jade said. "Then I have a solution."
"That being?", Gumi and Harry asked at the same time.
"You can have him", Jade said. "I quit. I'm outta here. I'm goin' home."
With that, Jade marched up to the Girl's dorm, packed up her trunk with all of her stuff, shrunk it to fit in her pocket, leashed up Tigra and left, leaving behind nothing but a cloud of dust and dirt from the tires of her electric blue motorcycle. She caught the first portkey bound for America. Madison, Wisconsin, specifically, her home state, from the Ministry of Magic that same day.
Jan. 18, 2:12pm, Madison, Wisconsin
Jade and Tigra walked out of the old building where the portkey had dropped them, out into the cold sunlight. The street that they were on looked like a big frosted cupcake. She walked up the street and pushed the button on the streetlight, waiting to cross. To her left, there was a pole with two signs on it that said she was at the corner of State St. and Main St. She walked a few blocks over to a house that she knew and knocked on the door. A girl, about Jade's current hight, with short light brown hair and green eyes answered the door. It was her friend, Andie. She was the only one who knew about what happened to her and Gumi outside of Hogwarts.
"So, this is what you look like now", Andie said, looking at Jade. "Well, come on, Jadie. Mom'll kill me if we left the heat out. Hey, Teegee."
Tigra jumped up trying to lick Andie's face as Jade closed the door and took off her shoes. She followed Andie upstairs into her attic room.
"So, are you gonna tell me why you left school or am I gonna have to beat it outta ya?", Andie asked.
"I just yelled at my sister and my boyfriend, I think you can tell why I left", Jade said. "But, I'll tell you anyways, I guess."

Jan. 18, 3:00pm, Madison, Wisconsin, USA, Andie's House, Andie's Room
Jade had just finished telling Andie, her friend about what happened at school and what led her to leave and come back.
"Whoa", Andie said. "You must've been pretty mad, for you to yell at Harry, he seems like a great guy."
"Yeah, he is", Jade said, putting the picture she had of Harry back in her folder. "But, I just got tired of fighting all the time."
"I'll believe that", Andie replied.
Just then, a knock came on Andie's bedroom door, and up came Andie's mom. "Hey, Andie? Oh, hello Jade."
"Hi, Mrs. C", Jade said, with a wave.
"Uh, dinner's gonna be a bit late, I have to go pick up your father from work", she said to Andie. "And, Jade, I'm sorry for what happened at school, just know that you can stay here as long as you want."
"Thanks", Jade replied as Andie's mom went back downstairs. "There is no way that I could deal with my mom being a telepath. Think of all the stuff I couldn't get away with."
"Well, sometimes it's kinda cool", Andie said. "At least if I have something I want to say but can't think of a good way to say it, she can read my mind and give me hints."
"This is true", Jade said.

Jan. 18, 7:13 pm, Gryffindor Common Room
Kagumi sat in the common room, surrounded by brick fragments. For the past four hours, she had frightened everyone out of the common room by blasting away large sections of a conjured brick wall…with her fists. Her hands were dripping blood, completely caked with it and there were scratches on her face.
The only people brave enough to sit through the lengthy assault were Harry, Ron, Draco and Hermione, though she jumped every time Kagumi punched another piece off. A shrunken Laen flew wildly around Kagumi's head, reminding Harry strongly of the small model of a Hungarian Horntail he had received in his fourth year. The small red dragon could sense her master’s distress…indeed, all of them could; it was all but palpable in the air.
Kagumi sank her fist deeply into brick yet again, biting back the screams that kept building in her throat. Her hand emerged from the growing pile of rubble a deep red, the blood from earlier wounds running clearly and dripping onto the carpet. She watched the tiny rivulets collect in a growing puddle and then she drew her wand. Harry jumped to his feet, as did Draco.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Harry demanded. Draco stayed silent, his eyes showing a tired fear in their stormy depths. Kagumi smirked at Harry and tossed a growing Laen out the window.
“What am I doing? I’m going to let off some stress. I’m sure Hagrid has some problem creatures that need to be dealt with and I need blood other than my own on my hands right now,” she said with an evil glint in her eye.
“What about Jade, eh?” Harry shouted.
“What about her?” Kagumi replied coolly, tossing off the cloak she was still wearing to reveal leather pants and a red top. She began pulling on spiked boots and stiff leather bracers over her lacerated arms with nary a sigh.
“What about her, Harry? You want me to go after her? Well I won’t. She wants to be childish…that’s fine. She can run to Andie and tell her all about what a horrible sister I am and how I mistreat her all the time and everything…she can go b***h to her friends and I can stay here. We’ll be apart and not at each other’s throats. Hell, I’ll write down where she went if you wanna go after her. As for me? I’m…well; I’m staying here. I don’t care if I die in a few months from being older. I really don’t. I’ve got very little sustaining me as it is and I’m sure that it too will be gone shortly. My mum and da are too caught up in their secretiveness to take me in full-time. Savean is the only contact here for me with DragonRiding and he’s too stoic to talk to me. My sister is a childish little girl who thinks she’ll always get everything she always wants and she won’t. She needs to learn that. Otherwise, she’ll be unbearable,” Kagumi took a deep breath, put one foot on the tall windowsill. She gave a cheery wave to the group, before falling out of the window backwards.
Draco sat down hard in the sofa while Hermione gave a little gasp and the other two went rushing over only to see Kagumi riding on Laen into the Forbidden Forest.
Jan 18, 10:32 pm, Gryffindor Common Room
It had been over three hours until the tense group had heard anything from the forest, which had turned unnaturally quiet after Kagumi's cheeky departure. Hermione had been asleep on Ron's lap, Harry staring broodily into the flames and Draco leaning on the windowsill, hoping for some sign of his lover.
Without warning, a loud scream resounded across the grounds. Several of the glass panes in the windows could be heard shattering and a jet of fire shot up from the sea of treetops. Draco clenched at the stone sill, hoping that she was alright as an enraged shriek echoed; several portraits held their ears and Crookshanks curled up into a poofy ball of ginger fur under a chair.
Jan 18, 10:34 pm, Forbidden Forest, Eastern Region
Kagumi summoned her ice sword again, preparing to charge at the troll that had found its way into the forest. It roared, and grabbed Laen’s tail, sending a jet of flames into the sky again. Smiling viciously, Kagumi easily guided the saw teeth of her blade into the troll’s neck, watching it’s grayish-black blood spray over the ground in a wide arc.
She watched the ice shrink back into her hand and thought to herself. How odd…my powers of Jade’s elements are growing…I wonder if…THE day is coming. How very unfortunate that she won’t be here. Oh well…serves her right for being a selfish brat.
Looking down at her shirt, Kagumi swore. It had a large rip in it through which a severe burn was easily visible. It wasn’t the pain that she cared about: this was her favorite informal battle top. In fact, Kagumi felt no pain, so colossal was her anger and pain. In fact, she hadn't even used much magic from her wand since Jade's departure earlier that day.
She looked at her hands, which had already begun healing. Laen sported a few cuts herself, but the weapon holster she had been fitted with before the Challenge was now in ruins. Kagumi ripped it off savagely and then jumped into the natural saddle on Laen’s back, scouting for any other unruly creatures of the night.

Jan. 20, 10:40pm, Forbidden Forest
Gumi was trotting trough the forest again on the back of Laen. She had taken to spending most of her time in the forest since Jade left. She had just turned on the path, when out of nowhere, WHAM! Gumi was thrown from Laen and into a tree. When she looked up, her eyes got as wide as golf balls. Jade, was standing in the tree right across from her on the lowest branch.
"Oh, so you've finally came back huh?", Gumi asked.
"No", Jade said. "I haven't. This is just an astral projection of me. You were right, I'm at Andie's house. She lent me her astral power for a bit, right now she's watering her house plants through her nose."
"How'd you know I knew where you were?", Gumi asked, standing up.
"You forget, you're my twin. You look like me and I look like you, something we also share is a common brain wave length", Jade said, with a smirk. "Remember? The one you can only access when you don't want to? So, I know about the tantrum you've been pulling."
"My tantrum?!", Gumi exclaimed. "Who's the one who left school because she didn't get her own way?!", Gumi yelled.
"I didn't leave because I didn't get my own way", Jade said, not raising her voice. "I left, so that I could come back home, someplace that I thought I'd never see again. It kills ya don't it? The fact that I'm not there to talk to. To listen to you. It doesn't feel good does it? To have a hole in you that you know you can't fill."
Gumi looked away, sitting back down on the forest floor. "Why? Why can't you just come back?", she said, trying to sound stable. "I need you, Harry needs you, we all need you. Please come back."
Gumi got up off the ground and went over to the tree, where Jade was now sitting on the branch she had been standing on. "I- we want you back here. It's not the same. Not as.... funny."
"Gumi. Gumi look at me", Jade said, and Gumi turned her face up to look at Jade. "Honey. You'll be fine without me."
"Yeah, I could", Gumi cried. "I could, but I miss you. I can go on without you, but I don't want to. I want to go through life, with my sister. With you."
"Gumi", Jade said. "You don't need me anymore. All by yourself. You know that you can do this on your own, you know how. It's just easier having me there."
"I just don't want you to go", Gumi said.
"I didn't really want to go, but I need to do things, by myself", Jade said. "You have more will and more nerve.... more strength than most anybody at school." Jade reached down and lifted up Gumi's head. "Now, the one thing you still have to figure out is how to use them wisely. We both know that you have a temper and need to work on it, or your powers will consume you, you know that."
With a wisp of light, Jade, the astral projection, disappeared from the tree.
Jan. 20, 11:13pm, Madison, Wisconsin, USA, Andie's House, Andie's Room
Jade came out of her astral trance to see Andie sitting in front of her on the floor. "So, ready to switch back?", she asked.
"Yep", Jade answered.
They took each others hands, and from Jade, came a bright orange light, and from Andie, came a bright blue light that swirled in the air for a moment before the orange light dove right into Andie's mouth, and the blue light did the same to Jade.
"That was kinda cool", Jade said, then rubbed her nose. "Now I feel like I just snorted pool water out my nose."
"Yeah", Andie said with a small chuckle. "Sorry."
Jan. 21, 8:30am, Gryffindor Tower
Harry had gotten out of bed, and come down to the common room and found Gumi there, sitting on the couch, staring blankly at the wall.
"Gumi?", Harry asked. "You ok?"
"Do you think I can do this by myself?", she asked, not looking at him.
"What do you mean?", he asked back.
"This", she said, looking at him as he sat down on the couch next to her. "Going through life, being the most powerful one here, being without Jade. You think I can do it?"
"Why? You don't think you can?", he asked.
"I want to know that I can, because I know I can it's just-", she said then cut off with a small chuckle. "I just don't want to be the most powerful one here, all by myself. I'm, heh, a tad lost, without her, not significantly, but still. Through our whole lives, she's been, right there. The little-more-smarter one, the little-more-cleverer one, the little-more older one, the one that some say I could look up to, because she's older then me by three minutes. There are times when I just wanna rip her hair out because of it and hit everyone who says I have to be more like her. Yeah, that happened to me, but, I could never give advice, or calm someone down, like she does. See, just once, I want to be able to do something the way she does it and get the same result. I remember, there was one time, our friend, Andie, the one she's with now, she was having the worst day. Her, boyfriend broke up with her, she flunked her science test, she got a hole in the back of her pants, it was just bad. But, I remember Jade, with Andie in the girl's bathroom, and Jade was sewing up Andie's pants, and she was talking to her. Just talking, with the occasional jokes, and within ten minutes, Andie was laughing and talking as if nothing had happened. And.... I remember asking her later how she did that, and she just said, 'it's just something I do. I'm the in-house psychologist, doctor, seamstress, vet, cook, you name it. It's not that I want to be, it's something I have to be', and she just laughed, but it was true. She's able to do almost anything, and everyday, I try to be more like that, but everyday, when I have to ask her something that I knew myself, I just-."
"You want her here to let her know that she doesn't have to be the one who has to take care of everyone", he said.
"Yeah", she replied. "So, what do I do? How can I make her understand that?"
"All you can do is try", he said. "She'll be stubborn at first, just like you, but eventually she'll get the hint, we can hope."
"But see, she's been good at all that stuff since day one. Getting people to listen to calm down and listen to her. How can I do that?"
"Just try. You don't have to be like her, people like you for who you are. But I think that if you actually try talking calmly with her and not try to drag her back by her hair like you want to, I know you. But just try talking calmly, she just might listen", he said.
"You really think so?', she asked. "You really think that I can do it? I can get her to come back?"
"I know you can", he replied.
Harry put his arm around Gumi and gave her a hug.
"Gumi, how can I find Jade?", Harry asked.
"She's at Andie's house", Gumi said. "Find the old record shop on State St. and then walk two streets over and it's the only house on the street that's rainbow colored."
"Ok, thanks", he said.
Jan. 21, 12:30pm, Madison, Wisconsin, USA, Andie's House
Harry found the only rainbow colored house that Gumi had mentioned and knocked on the front door. Andie's mom answered the door. "Hello. Can I help you?"
"Um, yes, I'm looking for Jade Falcon", he said. "I thought she was here."
"Well, she is here, but you missed her, she went out with her cat", Andie's mom said. "I think she said she was going to the park just down the street."
"Ok, thanks", he said.
Jan. 21, 12:58pm, Park
Harry went to the park down the street from Andie's house. He had been walking around for a while before he saw Jade, sitting on one of the swings, swinging mildly in the breeze, throwing Tigra's favorite ball every time Tigra brought it back to her. She had just thrown the ball when Harry sat down on the swing next to her.
"Hello Jadie", he said.
"I knew somebody would be coming to try and get me to come back eventually", Jade said.
"Well, I didn't originally come to try to get you to come back, but if you did come back with me, that would be great", Harry said. "I, actually just came to talk to you."
"Hey baby", she said as Tigra brought her ball back. "Did you bring me your ball? Did you bring me your ball? Yes, you did, you brought me the ball. Here, go get it!"
Jade flung the ball out again. "Well, you said you wanted to talk, but you ain't saying much", she said.
"Why did you leave?", he asked.
"Well, one part of it was to get Gumi to do things on her own", she said. "But the other part of it was just to come back home. I've been gone from here for so long and yet, when i walk around, nothing has changed. Come on."
Jade put Tigra's leash back on and they left the park.

Jan 31, 3:32 PM, Gryffindor Tower
Kagumi sat in the blizzard, on top of the spire of Gryffindor Tower. As she had opened the hatch that few knew of, she had cast a heat shield spell. It kept her warm and alive as she sat on that sloping roof for hours. The snow piled up around her quickly, though she had only been out here since two. Charms had just ended and there was a long break as Peeves had decided to flood the castle, not just one or two bathrooms.
No announcement had been made yet and in the commotion of the Common Room, Kagumi had slipped out through a secret staircase. After casting her spell, she sat in the cold, watching icicles form before her very eyes. Her thoughts were dark and troubled, filling her head as she thought of the letter she had received from her parents, the only correspondence since the Challenge.
Dearest Kagumi,
Your father and I write to inform you that many DragonRiders have fallen towards the darkness since the challenge. Several have begun following Voldemort and joined his army of creatures. There have been sightings of Inferi in our lands and the sky consistently grows darker from our house in Egypt. The sands grow shadowy, as does the sky. There is a great and terrible power rising towards the west and we worry that it searches for you and your sister.
May Bast protect you, daughters, in this time of War. Voldemort has abandoned the thought of mere Britain and now seeks the power of the gods to rule over the entire magical world. Many families are being massacred even as your father and I try to persuade the Council of The Paw and The Council of Scales to fight, to resist. Nothing seems to get through to them.
Sooner or later, your father and I, as well as Charlie and several others who are with us, will ride to Hogwarts to begin a search for an army. Don’t worry; none of the students need be harmed. We simply seek Albus Dumbledore’s opinions on where to go next. We’ve already announced to the villagers in our protected areas to warn us of any Dark creatures, but alas, too many are killed before they can warn us.
Keep Harry in sight at all times, Kitten. He’s the key to this war. Savean is there as support as well, and keep your loved ones by your side always.
Mum and Da
Kagumi snorted at the thought of what her sister would say if she tried to keep Harry in sight at all times. Probably accuse her of wanting him again. Fact was, Kagumi was completely happy with Draco. He was the one she wanted, the one she shared a connection with. Harry was more like a brother and Kagumi had trouble even trying to think of Harry in a sexual manner.
Kagumi got so mad whenever she thought of Jade’s accusations. I didn’t know what they were doing…I really didn’t. I walked in angry because of a problem with the textbook and when I saw what they were doing, after I had asked my question, I exited as politely as I knew how. She had no right to accuse me of wanting him…for Gods sakes, it’s not like I knew when I first walked in. She shivered, noticing that her spell was wearing off. The hatch was buried in a foot of snow, so she shot gentle flames at it until it melted enough for her to get back inside.
Throwing her snow-encrusted cloak onto the rug in front of the fire, she headed to the library, where she perused books about Voldemort and Harry. So caught up in her search was she, that she didn’t notice a pair of stormy gray eyes following her amongst the shelves.
Draco watched her eyes scan the titles, occasionally pulling a book down only to toss it on a table. He snuck up on her and took her in his arms for the first time in almost two weeks.
She leaned against him, with a small smile. She had forgotten how much she had missed this. She fit perfectly there in his arms and as he kissed her neck, Kagumi wished to Bast that they weren’t in a war; that she didn’t have to protect Harry; she wished that she could just be normal and in love.

Feb. 3, 5:00pm, Madison, Wisconsin, USA, Andie's House
Jade, Andie, and Andie's mom were all sitting in the living room, watching the very end of a random scary movie that they found, flipping through the channels.
"Why do you want to kill me?", asked the young teenage girl on the screen. "I'm sorry for what they did to you. I'm sor- ahh!"
The killer did hesitate to put his long kitchen knife through the girls heart and leaving her to bleed out in a back alley behind the movie theatre. As the killer walked down the alley, the screen went to black, and then to the credits.
"Eww", Andie said.
"See, that, to me, isn't scary", Jade said. "It didn't even look scary. The blood is way too thin, too red and at the end, you can see her breathing for crying out loud."
"Have a fit, why don't ya", Andie said with a giggle. "It's just a movie. It's not like that stuff ever happens around this place."
"Oh really?", Jade asked. "That's the exact same thing they said in all the 'Scream' movies."
"Miss Movie Queen", Andie said.
"Watch it lady", Jade said. "You just lucky I don't go Randy on your arse."
"'Arse'?", Andie questioned.
"Arse", Jade replied. "Yeah, arse."
"That's a good word", Andie said. "Arse."
"Arse", Jade said and they both giggled.
"Ok, why don't you two shut your 'arses' up?", Andie's mom said, handing Jade the bowl of popcorn.
Just as Jade popped a piece of popcorn in her mouth, the doorbell rang. Andie got up to get the door.
"Oh, hey", Andie said to the person standing at the door. "Come on in. Hang on, I'll get her."
Harry stood inside the door, next to Jade's bag. Jade came out into the front porch with Tigra, who jumped on Harry and began licking his face.
"Hey you", he said, petting and scratching Tigra. "How you been, huh? You ready to go?" He stood up and gave Jade a hug and a deep kiss. "Hello you", he said. "Just lemme say that the next time you leave school, plan on having to get out of a chair to which I will personally duct tape you to, and I have no problem with doing that either."
"Ok, easy horny man", Jade said, patting Harry's chest. "Ok, got my bag, my sweater, my furry shadow, that's it, all set."
"Alright", he said. "Let's go."
"You have a safe trip", Andie's mom said, giving Jade a hug.
"Yeah, and if you ever wanna come back and let me water my plants with the water power of yours, feel free", Andie said with chuckle giving Jade a hug.
"Thanks for putting up with me", Jade said.
"No problem", Andie's mom said. "Be sure to tell Gumi to stop by sometime."
"Ok, I will", Jade said, and with another hug and a wave, Harry, Jade and Tigra left, for the portkey station.
Feb. 3, 10:00pm, Gryffindor Common Room
Jade had Harry entered the Gyrffindor common room, and found that nobody was really in there, except Ron, Hermione, Dean, Lavender, Ginny, Neville, Gumi, Draco and a few first years that were trying to turn a hat into a mouse. They didn't notice them until Jade sat down next to Gumi.
"You know, if you add a drop of slug bile, it'll be more potent", Jade said.
Gumi just muttered, something under her breath that sounded like, "Know-it-all", but Jade didn't pay any attention to it.
"Ok, you don't wanna talk to me, ok", Jade said. "You know, I saw the strangest thing as we were coming into the school just now", she said, making sure that Gumi heard her.
"What did you see?", Harry asked, as he now knew what Jade was doing.
"Well, I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I'm sure that I saw a picture of Gumi and Draco hanging in the Entrance Hall", Jade said, glancing over at Gumi, who, even though she wasn't looking at her, was paying attention to everything Jade was saying. "Now, I wasn't close enough to get a thorough look at it, but it looked as if it was taken in the Gryffindor Girls' dorm."
"Really?", Ron asked, knowing what was going on. "Colin brought up a picture of it."
Ron handed Jade the small picture, making sure that Gumi or Draco could see it. "Yeah, that's it", Jade said. "Now, if that's her bed post, then this must be his-"
Jade didn't get a chance to finish talking, as Gumi grabbed the front of Jade's shirt. "Give, me, the, picture, now", Gumi said through gritted teeth.
"See?", Jade said, pointing at Gumi's face. "I knew I'd get you to talk to me."
"Give me the picture", Gumi said.
"Ok", Jade said as Gumi released her. "Give her the picture."
Gumi snatched up the picture and looked at it. It wasn't a picture of her and Draco. It was a picture of everyone in the Entrance Hall, just after they came in from their snowball fight. "Oh, ha ha, very funny", Gumi said, tossing the picture on the table, giving a very small smile. She chuckled as the others laughed. "You guys suck."
"That we do", Jade said, pulling Gumi into a hug. "But you know you still love us."
"No matter how mean we are to you", Hermione said.
Later, when everyone had finished there homework, they all sat around the fire and talked, until the girls started to fall asleep, when the guys took them up to bed, after Harry stomped on the third stair from the bottom of the staircase that led to the girls' dorm.
Feb. 4, 5:03am, Gryffindor Tower
Everyone was fast asleep, until Jade was awoken by the sound of many hushed voices and soft feet pattering coming from the common room. She quietly slid out of bed and crawled like a cat out the door to the balcony. She peeked up over the edge and saw the portrait hole smoldering, and about six Death Eaters standing in the common room. She snuck back to the dorm and awoke Hermione, Lavender, Parvati and Gumi and told them the situation. After they rounded up Ginny, they all made sure to stay out of sight as they made their way up to the boy's dorm. After they awoke Harry, Ron, Dean, Seamus and Neville, Hermione began talking out a plan.
"Ok, Hermione", Jade said, interrupting her. "While strategies are all well and good, sometimes the best way to fight is to not even know what you are gonna do."
"I found it pretty effective", Harry said.
"Let's load up", Gumi said, opening a bag of weapons. "Don't miss."
"You either", Jade said.
"And you", Jade said, pointing at Harry. "You keep your eyes peeled and your tail down. If they catch you, they'll take you. For Voldemort to pull off this war and be the winner, he'll need you alive."
"Great", he said, sarcastically.
Once everyone was in position, with Ron, Hermione and Harry at the bottom of the girls' stairs, Seamus, Dean and Neville and Ginny at the bottom of the boys' stairs and Jade and Gumi up on the balcony, Jade gave one more look and saw that ten more Death Eaters were now here.
"GET 'EM!", Jade yelled as she and Gumi jumped down from the balcony as the others converged from the stairs. They fought and fought for what seemed like an hour before the Death Eaters set off a dust bomb and scampered.
"What the heck?", Gumi asked.
"Where's Harry?", Jade asked.
"Over here", he said, clambering out of the now extinguished fireplace, covered in soot.
Just as Harry finished brushing himself off, Dumbledore, McGonagall, Snape and Hagrid came running into the common room.
"It looks as if my suspicions were correct", Dumbledore said. "Hogwarts is no longer safe. For their own safety, the children must be sent home, tonight. Severus, please help Minerva." Snape and McGonagall left to start getting everything ready to send everyone home. "Harry", he said, turning to the small group of Gryffindors. "I'm sorry to say that I have nowhere to put you. I will have to be out on alert with the other Order members. I won't be able to protect you here."
"You won't be able to protect here", Gumi said, then pointed to herself and Jade. "But we know where we can protect him."
"As of this moment, I am unable to deny help of any kind", he said. "Do what you must."
"Thank you", Gumi and Jade said as Dumbledore turned and left.
"What do you mean?", Harry asked. "Where am I going?"
"I don't know, but wherever it is, I'll be right next to you, mate", Ron said.
"Me too", Hermione said.
"Count me in", Ginny said.
"Anyone else wanna jump on our little wagon?', Jade asked, looking at Parvati, Neville, Dean and Seamus.
"As much as we would like to", Seamus said. "I think we would be of better service here."
"We'll be back as soon as this is over", Hermione said, giving everyone hugs and then watching them leave to go see what they could do to help.
"Alright", Gumi said. "You got seven minutes to pack what you can and get your butts back here. Move. Hermione, can you get my stuff too?"
She nodded. Everyone scrambled up the stairs, leaving Gumi and Jade to stand in the now topsy turvy common room.
"Alright, where are we going?, Ron asked, once everyone was back in the common room.
"When was the last time anyone was in the States?", Jade asked.
Feb. 4, 10:45am, Madison, Wisconsin, USA
Jade, Harry, Gumi, Hermione, Ron, Ginny arrived at the Ministry of Magic in Madison later that morning, right where Jade and Harry were picked up and dropped off by the portkey when they were there.
"So, where're we going?", Gumi asked. "Andie's?"
"No, she doesn't have anything to do with this", Jade said, sticking her arm out and giving a loud whistle.
"Then where are we going?", she asked again.
"Home, sweet home", Jade said.
"Now, is when I bless the fact that our house was built underground", Gumi said, climbing into the backseat of the taxi and sitting on Draco's lap, who just had to come with them.
The taxi stopped outside a very small house, that looked to be out in the middle of a small field. The field was kinda dirty and messy, but the pond in the back, not far from the house itself looked to be somewhat ok. Jade paid the driver and he left.
"Gumi, I thought you said, you lived underground", Ron said, looking at the very small house.
"You forget, looks can be deceiving", Jade said, unlocking the door and going inside.
The others followed her. The inside of the house was empty, except for some old pots and pans and some broken furniture.
"This is where you lived?", Ginny asked.
"No", Gumi answered. pushing in a knot in the wood wall, to which a small hatch door opened in the floor. "This is where we lived."
Everyone made their way down a set of stairs, up a slight slope then down a tunnel that ended in a dark room.
"Alright", Jade said. "Hang tight, lemme find the flippin'- ah, here we go."
Jade pulled a lever on the wall near the tunnel and all at once the room lit up, which was of moderate size and appeared to be domed.
"Uh, this isn't any better", Ron said, and Hermione elbowed him in the ribs.
"Oh, this is just one room of our house", Gumi said, walking over and pushing a button on the desk in the room. There was loud clank and two of the walls and ceiling seemed to fold down to reveal that they were in a room high up, looking down on a gigantic space that seemed to be sectioned into numerous other spaces. One looked to have army vehicles in it, another looked to be for sleeping because it was sectioned off into most likely smaller rooms. One more of food storage and preparation, and the others were for other things like relaxing, recreation and training, one had a pool in it along with some other work out equipment
"You lived in an army base?", Harry asked.
"Yes", Jade replied. "We came across it when we moved into the house on the surface. It was used as a secret attack post during the wars."
"What better place to protect someone than on an army base?", Gumi stated, pushing buttons on the newly risen control panel that had come up from the floor. She hit an orange button, the tunnel sealed itself and the whole room began to sink down to the floor amongst the other bigger rooms. When the room stopped moving, the door that did go to the tunnel now went to a smaller room with doors and they were all labeled so that you could pick where you wanted to go.
"Make yourselves at home", Gumi said, going out into the smaller room and going through the door that said, 'Bedrooms', on it. Ron tried to open the door that read 'Assault/Attack Room', but it didn't open.
"Jade", Ron said. "This door won't open."
"Of course it won't", Jade said, walking over to him. "You need to have to Falcon biometrics in order to go in there." Ron looked confused. "Just don't go in there. If you want to play around with guns, go into the training room."
"Ok", he said, and disappeared through the door that said, 'Training' on it.
"Other than that, feel free to wonder", Jade said, and left through the door that said, 'Recreation Area'.

Feb. 4, 10:50am, Madison, Wisconsin, USA
Kagumi followed her sister quietly, easily transforming into a half-cat without her wand. She padded inaudibly, her long panther’s tail flicking in silence. Jade smirked even as she reached behind her to scratch her sister’s ears.
“’Falcon Biometrics’. I have to hand it to you, sis. That was pretty smart,” Kagumi purred as she sat back on her haunches. She sighed heavily. “There’s something you need to see. I’ll have Tigra bring it to you once I unpack it, okay?” Jade nodded as she began stripping down in order to jump into a Olympic-sized swimming pool.
“That’s fine. It’s probably going to be depressing, if our connection is right, so let me get my aggression from the fight out, alrighty?” she asked.
“Sure, sis. I think I’ll go into the biometrics room and finish up some old research, okay? There’s some more genetic coding I want to look at. But there’s something I have to get first,” she said, more to herself. With a look around, her cat ears tilting this way and that, she noticed the lack of a particular heartbeat. Kagumi turned back to her sister.
“Jade? Where’s Savean?”
“I dunno…did we even bring him?”
“Oh…fuh-hu….crap. I’ll be back later,” she said in a rush. Jade looked at her as she dashed out and impatiently waited for the control panel to rise.
“….Be safe,” she whispered as Kagumi grabbed a thick collar and leash and ran out the door, yelling for Laen.
Feb. 4, 4:50 pm, Hogwarts Castle
Kagumi banked sharply around the curve of the last snow-capped mountain, and stopped dead. Her beloved Hogwarts was swimming with Death Eaters, presumably looking for Harry. She felt the tears rise to her eyes as a group of them blasted away a section of Gryffindor tower, laughing about it.
Feeling the anger rising in her chest, she closed her eyes and prayed with all her might to her goddess, Bast. “Oh, my Feline Mother, please accept this, your chosen’s plea, to wipe this area clean of the evil that resides here. This is my home, and this filth is tainting it. I ask thee, oh Honored Bast, to cleanse this hallowed place, in honor of the ideals the Founders stood for. Let my words whisper on the winds; let the shadow be my ally. May my feet be as silent and as sure as your own Paws. And may my vengeance be your own!” As she whispered those lat words, all four of her elements flared within her mind, and she knew that her prayer had been heard.
Jumping on Laen, her body crackled with colossal power and her eyes had become the color of chartreuse, with slanted pupils. There was electricity in her hair and the creatures of the night walked, swam and flew underneath her mount.
“I command you to leave this hallowed place! Your footsteps shame this earth and by my power, you will suffer for eternity!” Her voice echoed with the anger of Gods long forgotten by the world, and the ground trembled at her fury. Flinging her hand forward, several ice jets flew from her fingers.
Creatures began attacking the startled Death Eaters, and Laen’s fiery breath killed a couple trying to stun her. There were many loud cracks and the majority Disapparated, leaving only the charred and savaged bodies lying in the snow. Flying in low, Kagumi easily hopped off of Laen and laid a crackling hand on the outer wall of Hogwarts.
“My lovely home…those creatures won’t touch you again, I swear it,” she whispered soothingly. Her eyes closed and she channeled the rest of her goddess’s magic into fixing the castle. The large sections of stone lifted themselves and the castle healed what wounds it had suffered. A barrier established itself around the grounds, using part of castle’s own magic to erect it.
The barrier shimmered, barely visible. Bodies sank into the ground and the castle began cleansing itself. Kagumi smiled wearily, knowing that the Death Eaters would never be able to get past her pure magic without her or Jade being there.
The doors opened for her and Laen carried her inside. Several house-elves and professors were holed up in the Great Hall, Minerva McGonagall being one of them. She rushed forward, at the sight of the huge red dragon and took the tired girl from her.
“My dear,” McGonagall said softly. Kagumi sighed as her eyes turned back to their normal sapphire color.
“How I wanted to be able to walk in proudly, Professor. I guess, I’m not that strong yet…” she whispered, even as she wobbled on her feet. She set off, after assuring everyone that she was alright, to look for Savean.
She found him in Gryffindor Tower and after assuring him that they hadn’t meant to leave him behind, they set off for Madison, with Kagumi falling into a deep sleep over Chicago. Savean landed at the tiny house where Jade, Harry and Draco were all waiting outside. Jade rushed forward and grabbed her sister, who still held a piece of that awesome power.
“What happened? Savean?” Draco stepped forward and they all went inside. Savean didn’t care much for the gadgets of the military base, and instead sat with the group as a whole after they had put Kagumi to rest.
“What happened? Well…after the initial Death Eater invasion, Dumbledore set up specific wards in specific rooms. One was the Great Hall, the other was Gryffindor Common Room. I stayed there, and had to fight off a few Death Eaters that managed to get through the wards. But other than that, it was alright.
“They swarmed outside. Trying to find a way in, they got angry and began blasting pieces of the castle down. Voldemort himself was there once or twice, though when Kagumi sent them scattering he wasn’t.
“She attacked them…I don’t know how. But she did. Killed a pretty good number of them, and managed to set up a pure barrier. I felt it as we were flying out of it. She…she healed the castle…” He put his face in his hands and looked at Jade through his fingers. She sighed and prepared herself to explain what had happened.

Feb. 4, 9:21pm, Madison, WI, USA
"Since you guys most likely won't wait until she wakes up for her to tell you I guess I have to", Jade said, heaving a sigh. "Ok, you guys all know that me and Gumi have, unique powers." Everyone nodded. "Well, we get our powers from the Egyptian goddess Bastess, or Bast. The goddess of the moon and the sun. Me and Gumi, are her descendants. We both have the powers, but one has more control over two then the other. Gumi got the sun powers, the dominant being Fire and Air, and I got the moon powers, the dominant being Water and Earth. If you channel all her energy through yourself.... Bast... you can do... well, pretty much anything. But, the thing is, if you do that, take Bast's powers into yourself, you lose who you are. You just become power hungry and destructive."
"And how many times before that happens to her?", Draco asked.
"You can actually go once without turning, but it all depends on how strong you are", Jade replied. "We're both direct desendants of Bast, so, I don't know how many times it would take if she did it."
"But, she'll be ok, right?", Ginny asked.
"I think so", Jade said. "This is only the first time she's done it, so she'll pull out of it."
"Have you ever done it?", Ron asked. "Have you ever, you know, taken Bast into you?"
"Just once before", Jade said. "I used it to get back at someone who I had hated since I met them."
"What happened to them?", Hermione asked.
"She, uh, got sucked up in a tornado", Jade said, not looking at any of them. "She landed in a tree, three counties over. They found her, dead the next morning. She apparently, had a, uh, heart condition, pretty severe, and they say she died before she ever hit the tree. And that's how I got my scar that you were asking about." Jade pulled her waist length brown hair up off her neck to reveal a scar that looked like a cats' paw. "That's the warning I got. Basically it means that if I were to use her powers for my own petty ends, something bad was going to happen."
"Will, Gumi get a scar too?", Harry asked.
"No,", Jade said. "She used the power to save the school and everyone in it. She used the power for good. She won't get scarred."
There was a long, uncomfortable silence in which nobody did anything. Finally, Jade got up from her chair.
"I can't stand uncomfortable silences. I'm gonna go to the pool", she said, leaving the kitchen area, across the small door filled room, through the door to the pool.
Harry finished his soda and also went into the pool/workout area, where Jade was floating on the surface of the water, eyes closed and softly singing a song in Spanish.
"A la nanita nana nanita ella nanita ella Mi niña tiene sueno bendito sea, bendito sea
Fuentecita que corre clara y sonora Ruiseñor que en la selva cantando llora Calla mientras la cuna se balansea A la nanita nana, nanita ella", she sang and when she finished her final note, she opened her eyes and looked directly at Harry, who was standing along side the pool.
"You have a really pretty singing voice", Harry said.
"Thanks", Jade said.
"It's weird", he said. "I only know one sentence of Spanish, but yet, I feel like I know that song."
"You might've heard me singing it to Gumi at night sometimes", Jade said, swimming over to the edge of the pool. "See, she has nightmares, sometimes, and singing is pretty much the only thing that calms her. That song, 'A La Nanita Nana', is an old Spanish lullaby."
"Well, it's a really nice song", Harry said. "I hope that, if you ever have kids some day, that they get to hear it."
"I hope so too", Jade said with a smile. "Wanna join me in a swim?"
"I don't have a suit", he said.
"You don't need one", she replied, and pulled in, promptly into the pool.
Harry came up, sputtering, while Jade laughed. "Alright", he said, setting his glasses on the side of the pool. "Now, you're gonna get it."
Jade quickly dove underwater as he began chasing her.

Kagumi stirred. Draco held his breath, and loosened his grip on her waist in case she needed to turn. She turned towards him, her skin pale and still slightly damp from the struggle for power in her body. Her lips clenched and her eyebrows drew inwards, forming a little valley above her small nose.
A lump formed in Draco's throat as her eyelashes fluttered and a soft sigh passed her lips; her face relaxed a bit and she eased into the feather pillows he had lovingly put underneath her head. He had held her ever since Jade had explained what had happened, lost in his own thoughts.
Once, Jade had come in to try and get him to eat, but he told her to go away; he wasn’t moving until she woke up. Jade tried to talk him out of it, telling him that Kagumi was going to be furious when she woke up, but that didn’t matter to him just then. He only wanted her to wake up. The cocoon of sleep was calling to him, but his mind was far too active to allow rest.
What if she doesn’t wake up? What if Jade was wrong and Bast’s power overwhelms her? He shook his head. God Draco, you’re being stupid. Kagumi is strong, so much stronger than any of us normal people. Jade is just as strong, and she gives off this feeling of quiet strength. But Kagumi is like a raging wildfire; once she gets going, she doesn’t stop or bend to anyone’s will, except her own. She has this incredible strength, and she doesn’t even know it. She sees herself as weak, but really she’s not.
I mean, she almost died of a serious injury, during a competition that hardly anyone else could survive in. And she had the courage to joke around while she was bleeding to death. Not to mention firing a few Healers… he thought wryly. He felt his heart melt as she burrowed her face into the crook of his arm and sighed his name. Draco brushed a tendril of hair out of the way and whispered in her ear.
“I love you…”
Feb. 6, 11:13 am, Madison, WI, USA, Kagumi's Mind
Kagumi stood in a desert, with nothing around her. The wind whipped her long black hair around her face, and the sand stung her eyes. She looked heavenward, and watched the clouds fly by. Judging from the sun’s course, she was headed east. The wind smelled foul, and she looked towards the west to see darkening clouds.
An outcropping of rock signaled shelter for the coming sandstorm, and she knew that she had to get somewhere safe, where she wouldn’t suffocate. Her legs pounded onwards, toward the rocks. The wind howled its rage at her, and she dove behind the rocks just in time. A whirling mass of sand and air swept behind her, shredding her desert robes easily. Kagumi cowered behind her makeshift shelter, wishing she weren’t quite so alone.
After a couple of minutes, the storm had blown itself out and she was able to crawl from behind her rock. Kagumi shook the sand from her hair; spending much of her early life in Egypt had taught Kagumi how to remove sand from anything. It had also taught her how to walk along sand dunes with as little resistance as was humanly possible.
Once she turned around, thinking she had heard Draco's voice, but she had just been imagining things. As she began to walk again, she noticed several pale lumps lying about in the sand, giving off a disgusting odor. Whatever, she thought to herself.
A sudden mesa to her right looked familiar and with a wrenching of her heart, she knew where she was. At that moment, however, a tawny cat wound itself around her legs. Kagumi looked down, into eyes that seemed incredibly intelligent. She shook her head and, after giving the cat a scratch behind the ears, took off running down a long, uphill path that was concealed under a natural archway of stone.
The red sand beneath her feet shifted slightly, but she didn’t care. It was beginning to get rockier than she remembered, but she didn’t care about that either. Shrubs were growing, where all of the old ones had been uprooted by the twins’ magic. But Kagumi's eyes were on the camouflaged dome ahead of her.
Sixteen pillars, in an imitation of Grecian style, supported it and several statues adorned the path into the grand house. Passing the first of many sculptures, Kagumi noticed a few scales on the floor. That’s right, the dragon paddock isn’t far at all from here, she thought excitedly.
An elaborate fountain, glowing with magical light, glimmered in the middle of the lobby she was running through. The palace’s several balconies were visible through ornate arches, and Kagumi's Riding boots echoed loudly on the Roman marble floor. As she passed it, she noticed that today’s color was a ruby red, but it looked odd. Shaking it from her mind, she continued down the hall to her favorite spot: the balcony off of the room that she and Jade shared, which overlooked an oasis the size of Hogwarts.
As she leaned over the edge of the marble banister, a movement caught her eye. The oasis was gone, all of the trees burnt. She could see no sign of life; it was if someone had set it ablaze with “Incendio.” Kagumi drew her wand in case, but it wasn’t the burnt scene before her that made her heart pound.
It was the moving darkness that crept over the sands; the line of black moved ever closer. There is a great and terrible power rising towards the west and we worry that it searches for you and your sister…her mother’s words came back to haunt Kagumi as she watched Inferi rise from the tainted sands. Other bodies roiled in the darkness, and Kagumi's mind supplied the name: Mol’Grati…
She’d only been told of these foul creatures in training for this day. They were giant worms whose bodies were composed of decaying flesh. They slithered through darkness as if it were water, and hadn’t been seen since the early days of the First War. If a person were to set foot on that dark sand, they’d have been devoured by the Mol’Grati’s huge mouths. Thousands of teeth in a red circle, the hunger for them never stopped. They were an insane race, driven mad by the incessant hive-like mentality they shared.
The golden cat from the dessert jumped onto the banister, and as Kagumi stared at it, she felt the need to bow. Feeling a hand, she didn’t dare move from her knees until told to do so, lest she offend the celestial sitting in front of her.
“Rise, my child…we have need to speak frankly,” said an echoing voice. Kagumi rose slowly, aware that she was in her red and orange priestess robes. The heavy belt weighed her down, and she tried to block out the unearthly screams of the Inferi below as she looked at her Goddess.
The woman sat on the ivy-covered banister, much like a cat. The turquoise bands on her slim arms gleamed in the remaining light, and the ones around her neck were covered by long black hair with gilded edges. An ankh was tattooed on her forehead, and her eyes were the color of chartreuse. She wore robes of splendid white, and her tawny tail swished back and forth.
Kagumi straightened her back, and looked the deity in the eye. “My Lady…I see that you have changed your appearance,” she said somewhat stiffly.
“Yes,” came the echoing response. “I take it that you realize that your…our…beloved Egypt is in grave danger. Voldemort has indeed set his eyes on the power of the gods…and he may well achieve it, if the Oracle is right.
“But that is of no consequence right now. I must ask you what gave you the right to invoke my power? What gave you the right to use my power for your own gains?” The woman’s eyes narrowed as Kagumi glared right back.
“I had the right…I used it for good. Hogwarts was in danger, as were innocent people. You cannot fault me for that. You may be my ancestor, but that doesn’t mean that you need to be haughty with me,” Kagumi spat.
The Cat-Goddess’s eyes widened, and unless Kagumi was sorely mistaken, there was a tinge of amusement. “In all my centuries, no one has quite spoken to me like that…I commend you, mortal descendant. I truly do. For that, I shall grant you this borrowing of my powers. Your own power is struggling against mine; in fact, your Draco is holding you right now. He awaits your return. Are you ever going to let him in on that secret you’re carrying?” Bast added as an afterthought.
Kagumi's hand flew to her stomach, before fighting the panic down. “Maybe. I’m not sure. But it will be after the battle, if ever,” she swore. Her goddess looked at her with kindness.
“Be careful…Kitten. Don’t let your feet of clay override your heart of gold. Don’t stumble…because you may find the fall extremely unpleasant.” A sigh escaped the red lips of Bast as she regarded her fiery little child. “How you’ve changed…be careful, Kagumi. Be very careful…I don’t want to see the taint lying in these sands come this far. Protect your homeland…” With that, she was gone.
And Kagumi was lying in a warm bed, with a comforting pair of arms around her. She opened her eyes to see Draco's smiling at her. She smiled lazily back, as he kissed her softly. She wished she could stay here, like this, forever. But she knew that she had to get to her research, and as soon as her legs would hold her weight.
