RuiZhi smiled whimsically. His sister had fussed over his accent and pronounciation for a while, too. She still did on new words. Apparently, the Professor had forgotten to tell him what a poo-pay was in her thrill at his poor English. He'd have to remember to ask later.

"That would be nice, Big Sister Professor Javelin Lovinghal," he said mildly, not in the least big joking. It was a title, and by gum, he was going to use it. It still came out of his mouth funny, but he was trying. "Mr. Herei is helping too. The Professors here are quite nice." He was pleasantly surprised about how forgiving they were on his vocabulary; maybe he'd make it after all!

The boy turned his smile back to Lorioth. He seemed...uncomfortable, and RuiZhi couldn't tell if it was his fault or something he was missing. Perhaps a mixture of both? "O-okay, Doctor Lorioth Manneth," the boy said uncertainly. "I ap...appreciate it. Thank you." He thought for a moment, then added sheepishly, "I'd like to ask questions now, but...I don't know what to ask! I guess I should wait for classes to start. There's so much to being a doctor." RuiZhi's excitement started to creep back, his eyes twinkling.

He would be lying to say he wasn't the tiniest bit scared because he was indeed the tiniest bit scared. It was a new school for the boy but it was a good one. One of the best he heard.

It was what he needed actually. With his father's...well foster father's...passing a year ago. He would strive to be like that man. Doing so helped ease his sorrows for a bit. He...almost missed that little group.

A flurry of glossy chocolate shook, making his hair a bit more messy. Though for some reason girls found it attractive. With his hair grown out he discovered a new hair style that others just found...irresistible.

Weiyuan shrugged at the thought. He had no interest in any of his admirers. Though, since none of them were here he could now focus more on his studies than on finding a place to study.

With a small bag slung over his shoulder he idly wandered, wanting to explore this place first. His eyes caught a flash of red, the gleam of the material very similar to his own garb.

Zach smiled and nodded back at Jaden. "I'm magic, yea ... don'cha think it's kind of obvious?" Well. Maybe not ... anyone might be fascinated by the elves. But ... he wanted more than just to meet elves. He wanted to learn magic and do well at it.

Zach really wasn't thinking about much more beyond the moment ... not that this school's purpose was supposed to be training people to go up against the aliens or anything. Those things all seemed very far away in the future and for this moment, he'd do everything he could to fit in here and learn all that he could.

"Finding our rooms sounds good to me," he murmured, with a slight yawn. And he laughed softly. "Sorry. Guess I'm a little tired too ... "

The teen nodded as he heard Zach's reply. "Yeah, same here," he commented, not really needing to stretch the topic beyond this. The mere mention of science and technology sent shivers down the young man's spine as he remembered the near failing grades he made the previous year in his science courses. Not only was his motivation the want to get away from one certain thing, but ever since he was very young he had an interest, a forte for magic and his lust for the whimsical fantasy could never be replaced. It never would.

Elijah's eyes never left the pair except a few times to glance about the room and inspect other school members and officials. It interested him to see so many from different origins...different species even. Grinning inwardly he returned his gaze to the pair and to the new topic. Actually, he had been eager to find the dorms and gave a nod to signal his approval.
"Sure, sounds good to me," he answered in a friendly manor.

Dante cocked his head as they talked, pondering--then he nodded in approval. They all had promise. And the boy could actually speak a little bit of Elven through Tolkien's...revision of the language. It was a start, if nothing else, and spoke to his intelligence that he could remember an entirely different language.

"You three do that," Dante said. "Our other student appears confused. I wish you all goodnight. If you need me, I'm always in my office--just be sure to sign up for a 15-minute time slot."

Then he wandered off, placing a hand on Weiyuan's shoulder.

"Are you all right?" Dante asked slowly in the Common tongue, hoping the boy understood him. If not, he would have to repeat his question in garbled Chinese...hopefully the student would correct him. He did so anyway--to the best of his ability, that was--and waited for a reply.

Underneath shining green, a shoulder tensed. He looked up at the older male, and blinked slowly. Contact with an administrator already? Grey orbs glanced around, he must not be the only new student.

He understood the man's words perfectly. Ever since those times with the group, he spent a lot more time on getting the language right. Perhaps it was because of the his blood belonged to those of this tongue that it was so easy. Even though English didn't make sense what so ever. What he did know was that he didn't like the slowness of the older male's speech. He wasn't an idiot.

"I'm fine. I'm not some one who looks for trouble so I doubt you'd have to keep an eye on me." He blinked again, more precise in his movements. Of course he tended to be that way. Wasting time was just a factor of laziness. With what happened back there, he didn't want any of that in life anymore.

"No need to be irritated," Dante said, drawing himself up to full height. "I was asking a perfectly legit question--you hail from China, correct? I was not familiar with how much you knew of the language. Still, I apologize. And you seem the sensible sort." A lot like him, he thought.

"Professor Araquenosse. Welcome to Shinkami," he said, and offered a hand to the student.

Weiyuan wasn't good with apologizes either. So, he didn't. Normally it was others who had to apologize to him.

The other man was tall, still somewhat shorter than his father but...it didn't matter. Everything ended up being compared to his father now. Later on he'd slap himself for the silliness.

"Yes, China is my homeland." At least according to his birth certificate. He was never sure about that either. He'd save the looking for his real roots when he was having a mid-life crisis. Then he would be more level headed than some.

Wei took the older man's hand in a firm shake. "Weiyuan Leung. It's good to be here." Aim for the top and you'll never let anyone down.

Dante puzzled at the lack of apology but said nothing. He'd been waiting for an apology--not expecting one, but waiting for one all the same. So he simply let it go.

"ShinKami is a good place, and from the look at your interaction in the incident you have every reason to be proud of yourself. Your intervention in the incident in China was most admirable."

Javelin's eyes flashed from RuiZhi to Lorioth, and she suppressed a smirk. They were the same, these two. Children, shy children who had found something in common to talk about. And her eyes laughed as she watched the way Lorioth nodded empathetically.

"There is." he said warmly. A child who understood him! "Even I am still learning things... but if you have any questions, I will tell you where to find me."

Javelin snickered. Ah, if it was someone else she would have so many wise a** comments to say. "It sounds like a proposition, Lorioth." she said slyly, and the doctor colored.

"Javelin." he responded, frowning slightly as he looked over at the young student. But he was pleased to have made his acquaintance. "What is it you want to study in particular, RuiZhi?"

His lips gently and smoothly eased into a slight smile. He was indeed slightly proud of what he did but it wasn't good to inflate his ego. If one did...he'd resemble Dr. Kenth more than he thought he could of.

"Ah...yes. It was because of that event that I decided to strive for the best. My father's footsteps would be hard to fill if I didn't come here."

"O-oh, thank you, Doctor Lorioth Manneth!" RuiZhi exclaimed excitedly. "I would like that very much!"

The boy clasped his hands together within his sleeves, trying to keep them from trembling. He'd met two very important people - three if he included the enigmatic Mr. Herei Fang - and they were all willing to help him in his dream. In fact, he felt as though he might be dreaming, as all the gaps and holes he feared would slow his progress were quickly being filled in. It was the most remarkable sensation. He couldn't wait to talk with Weiyuan!

Remembering his "adopted brother," RuiZhi took a moment to look around for the wild haired boy. He didn't see him anywhere, but--there! He'd recognize that green anywhere! Before he could wave Weiyuan over to him, another adult stepped in his line of sight. RuiZhi hoped it was a professor, and that he was as kind as the two he was speaking with now.

He turned his full attention back to the doctor in front of him as the man turned red for the third time or so in their conversation; either RuiZhi didn't hear Javelin's coy remark, or he didn't understand it. His face became somber and serious at the man's question, thinking deeply. What DID he want, specifically? "I want to study..." He hesitated. He wasn't sure of the word he wanted to use in English, so he tried to explain it. "I want to study the world and how it ails people." A pause, and then, "A sickness of the body, while it is of interest, it's not my focus." That sounded good to him. "What the body does not know, the foreign make up of the world that can hurt and kill people, that is what I want to study. What it is, how to treat it."

The boy didn't think that relating his desire for studies to Doctor Kenth would help since no one would know what he meant, so he was trying to piece together what the man had done in such a short amount of time. He hoped he had his point across. RuiZhi was trying very hard to be understood, and to understand in turn.

Lorioth's face seemed to draw down into a look of intense concentration as he listened. Did he understand the boy? Kind of. But not enough that Lorioth knew exactly what to say. The doctor believed that he understood. But did he really? Probably not.

Enough though, that he paused. "The world." he smiled, nodding his head, feeling a sense of interest creep into his vision. Yes, the boy... what he wanted, even Lorioth was interested in it. And what this student would make out of it-- would it prove to be a challenge, a hurdle? He hoped not too much. He would keep himself updated on what the boy did, if only to relieve his own curiosity.

"He'll be keeping an eye on you." Javelin commented, leaning forewords and blowing slightly into RuiZhi's face. Invasive? Definitely! Just like her to do it? Of course. That too.

Lorioth smiled, a little bit of tension behind his expression as he gently batted the professor away. "I've heard we have a new doctor arriving too, so I'm sure the both of us will be able to help you out."

Which reminded him. He was intensely curious to meet this doctor. What was he like? Oooh, boy. Would the doctor like him?

RuiZhi watched Doctor Lorioth think, hoping he'd be understood. The man's smile made the boy feel that his meaning was not totally lost. "I'll tell you more when my English is better," he promised, feeling a little proud. It was easy for those who were older to make the younger pause for thought, but that the Doctor had mulled over the boy's words, it thrilled him.

"U-uh, I hope that's good?" RuiZhi blinked at Javelin, thinking for a moment that he smelled jasmine and rose on her. Strange. He wondered if blowing in people's face was a strange sort of greeting or good luck charm. He'd heard of stranger. He had the grace to blush at her closeness; she was a pretty woman, after all.

The boy perked up at the news of a new doctor. "A new doctor? Is he...does he have a particular?" The last word sounded mostly like 'par-tea-cue-lar,' because he knew what the word meant but hadn't really used it. He was getting the hang of things!

Javelin beamed, nodding her head. An innocent and trusting student, was it? Deciding that she would get full use out of this one before one of the other staff members or students took him under their wing, she nodded her head emphatically.

"Of course!" she responded in a straight face. "It's just a sign of likability. You only do it to those you like, and are fond of."

Lorioth sighed. It was dangerous to interrupt the woman when she was on a roll-- you always ended up paying for it later. And deciding that it was harmless enough for Lorioth to ignore, he pretended it wasn't happening as he answered RuiZhi's question.

"He's from China too, isn't he?" Lorioth turned to Javelin, frowning. He had a good memory, but he hadn't been paying much attention to the notice the head master had sent him-- if only because the woman had snatched it out of his hands.

"Do you think he's going to bring back any Asian alcohol?" was her very, very thought provoking response. "I've heard rice wine is quite good when mixed with food..."
