In debates like this there isn't really a right or wrong, because it all depends on opinions. It's very much a 'live and let live' kinda deal.

Washuuuu... I don't believe the UK hates emo music, I've seen a lot of scene kids around, and emo band tours always sell out over here.
It's pretty must just like any other country, some love it, others hate it. *shrug*

Ha, would you be talking about the bottling incident with the P!ATD frontman?
Personally I think it's disgusting that people would do that to any band... but I did think it was hilarious. ninja

what happened?

They were playing a set at last year's Reading festival and like three seconds into their set someone threw a full water bottle at Brendon's head and knocked him out for like a minute.

scream that pisses me off! they're out there doing their best, pouring their feelings into lyrics, and idiots like that have to be major assholes about!
actually this weekend i was reading an old Rolling Stones mag and it had a like quick sentence about that in it and it also said that people threw garbage on the stage when My Chemical Romance performed [i think that was in the UK too but im not completely positive]. how can people be that cruel??

It's always a good idea to try and bring water to a gig.. Yeah sometimes they take it off you at the door but I refuse to pay £3.00 for a cup of water like I did seeing Green Day.
At least at A7X it was free.

As for MCR-haters... there's a lot of them out there.
There's a lot of worries about them headlining the Download festival this year... if some emo-hating tards decide they can't just wander off for an hour while MCR are on and want to start something, that could be the end of the only english music fest that hasn't turned indie and watery. sad

LONG OFF TOPIC POST WARNING!!

English pounds, not Euros... I've no idea how many Euros it would be. O.o
It was completely ridiculous. June 19th was THE single hottest day of 2005, there were people passing out from heat stroke way before the first support act even came on the stage! There was free water over by the merch booths but they were halfway up this massive hill and no one wanted to lose their place in the crowd so we had to buy it from this little icecream truck near the stage.

They were handing water out for free at the barriers infront of the mosh pit, but there were these IDIOTIC little group of teenie-boppers who would grab every cup coming their way and throw it over eachother, while a few rows away there were people literally crying for water.
I actually attempted to wrestle a cup or two away from these girls and hand it back to people and nearly got slapped. XD

Oh and of course the water they were throwing went on the ground, turned that little patch into a mud pit, and when Green Day actually came onstage hours later, the first mass pogo sent about 20 people arse over face into the mud. Several people got mildly crushed but we were all alright in the end.

I think I've heard of that concert on the news once. My mom has heard about it. I think I may have even heard about it from my great-great-uncle, calling my mom and worried about how I'd fare in October 2005's SOAD concert! (The one in Seattle. O: )
