Xeen Soldevi ArynChris At this point, A.C. was ready to act. In fact, she almost did make a move--to help McKinnly. Monsterous serpant he might be, but he was still a founder of the City, and she'd been taught to love him.
This is what stopped her: It couldn't possibly be him. He didn't have powers, no founder did, because that was the Enemy. Pure Energy couldn't come from the Enemy, because there just weren't enough of them to suck energy out of, even if you could do it like mimics. And A.C. had seen Enemies die--if they were killed in the streets like that whenever they showed their true natures, how could anyone get energy from them? Wouldn't they have to be captured? And, above all, none of the Six would ever turn on each other or send someone to kill them. It was the cooperation and mutual genius of all six that sourced the harmony of the City, and for that to break apart would mean The End. She had learned that in the second grade.
What was down there--all that was down there, in the center of the room--was the Enemy. She didn't really get what they were talking about, but she didn't have to. There was an Enemy impersonating McKinnly, two or three more that believed the hoax, and the only one in danger here was the girl. Although, at least one of the enemy down there was protecting her, so maybe she wasn't really in danger. A.C. let out a silent sigh of relief. (She didn't consider the fake councilman to be in danger because she figured he deserved it for impersonating a great public figure.)
Relaxing to watch events unfold and hopefully the doors open, the glamour regained its strength and fully covered A.C. again. ((Poor AC, ******** all da hell. ((ROFL. No one ever accused her of not being properly "thought-trained." cool It leads to an interesting life philosophy, once you consider that she herself is the Enemy.))

Xeen Soldevi Eulalia Danae Mckinnly coughed up blood and then fell back against the ground. "Just get it over with Soltari." Xeen began laughing, falling to his knees, arms hanging limp at his side, his laugh slowing to a mad scientist-esque chuckle. Between his chuckle, he spoke. "No... That was... Me having fun with you. And now, I plan on putting you in the contaniner. However, you will lack the certain luxury that my wife had of being killed by you. No, James, you will live forever, encased in time. And you will stay that way for as long as I live." A.C. was faintly disgusted and horrified. Obviously, the Enemy was just as cruel as her teachers always said. Even for a faux-McKinnly, that seemed like a harsh fate. (A.C. still had a little sympathy for him, even though he wasn't the real founder.)
On the other hand, he did claim to have killed the Enemy's wife. If Enemies had wives... A.C. discarded the idea before she came to the thought that the Enemy had feelings, like real people. The fake McKinnly had probably killed a pretty concubine, and the Enemy were all such monsters that they would take that offense out on someone this way.
She was glad God hadn't cursed her at birth to be an Enemy. Some people believed that people who sinned very badly came back to life as Enemies later, but her mother said it was people already destined to sin, so God just made them Enemy to begin with so people could tell and stay away from them.

"I could kill you a thousand times, James, and it still would not be enough for you to pay for what you have done to my kind. The vast majority of my kind devoted thier lives to making sure you and your pathetic Mundanes could sleep well at night and carry on your inane little lives safely, and then you seek to eradicate us. You then use my wife and defile her, then dispose of her as if she were refuse. So I have decided, that, instead of killing you and regreting not making you suffer later, to not only keep you alive, but to make you live forever." Xeen chuckled again, drawing energy into his body, his hands growing faintly blue, and the area around McKinnly growing hazy. ((Yes, in he and Erica's relationship, Xeen was the b***h. But when it came to dealing with his wife, Xeen was extremely submissive. He had to make up for his massive ammounts of badass somewhere.))
