If it helps, my knowledge of South America comes from courses in which I learned a bit about Spanish as a language. Which I find absolutely terrible. People need to know about the world; not just their tiny little section of it. No wonder so many Americans could care less about all the bad stuff in the world.

It's terrible! I bet you 99% of Americans couldn't tell you who the prime minister in Canada is and we're right by Canada!
I'm such a pessimist....

I wish I didn't. Honestly, if Europe paid their doctors more, I'd move over there somewhere. But alas, I have a lot I will need to do later in life and that involves a lot of money to make sure everything is taken care of, family-wise, since my parents really don't have much in the way of retirement.
My best friend has a step up on me that way... She'll have an unusual family arrangement for the United States after she's a doctor; her mother will be living in her home.

Unfortunately, we're still both studying pre-medicine, so we're not even in medical school yet! It's a very long process here to become a doctor. I'm looking at a total of 8 years of school and 4-7 years additional on-the-job training. sweatdrop
My roommate says "hi" back. She also yawned and said she was exhausted. That is what she gets for going to bed at 5am and getting up at 8. Silly girl.

Well, I'm not sure what specialty I'll be going into yet. My program will have me look into all the different specialties before I choose.
