"I'm afraid I'm no geologist, so I can't honestly say," First step to sanctuary, admitting your faults. The furry stopped where she was. Before the pair of them lay an expanse of sand and ash. Where there had been the sea, now lay stretches of sandbanks, still damp. Perfect for making sand castles. No words escaped the furry's lips; rather she stood there in pure bemusement. Could a volcano and an earthquake really do this much? The tip of her tail flickered, ears perking up from where they sat positioned against her skull.

"It appears were connected to another Island indeed." Repeating the facts, Emi brought her hand up to brush the ash from her furry cheeks. What exactly was that over there? Her eyes strained to see past the vast stretch of sand, only to fail in depicting out what exactly is was. Well, the only way to find things out was to go look. Yet that meant going further and exploring, something Emiko wasn't so keen on.

Toby followed, tail between his legs, muzzle to the floor. It wasn't until Emi stopped that he bounded ahead. Suddenly a new bout of energy flew through him, the dog jumping and running around on the sand before them. He kicked up the sand, his furry coat rapidly becoming an existence of ash, sand, and water. That would certainly take a lot of cleaning out. It was as if he'd gained a new streak of life, the dog bounding for a few moments only to stop the next. Collapsing down onto his front paws, his tongue lolled out of his mouth, panting.

"Apparently the fresh airs been doing someone good," Emi mused, watching Toby leap around like he was a puppy again only to collapse in a heap a few moments later. A smile pressed on her features despite the ash flying into her face. Swishing her tail too and fro, she glanced up towards Wyv, and then back to Jizzy. She didn't know what they were attached to, but she knew how to find out.

"I'm not sure I'm afraid but your right, the only way to find out is to go there ourselves." Carefully patting the camera case against her side, Emi headed off towards where Toby was. Her own paws flicked up sand as they walked, her ankles quickly becoming a flurry of dark brown fur and sand. Only taking a few steps forwards, she waited patiently for Karma to catch up so they could walk together. After all, three was better than two.

Karma eyed the spot where her hut had been again, "Ah, it's no use right now." She muttered to herself. "Even if I could fix it, the ash would definatly make it harder. I might as well let it settle." Re-enforcing this in her mind, the girl jogged towards the sand bar.

As she got closer to said sandbar, she noticed a figure, standing near it. The guardian, she assumed, seeing as there were only guardians and Aerandir on the islands, looked like she was...waiting? Not sure if she was waiting for her, or someone else, Karma sped up a bit until she was only a few feet away. She looked down at her jars, they were safe, good. A moment later, she noticed the dog running around in the sand and ash, she giggled a little. "He's certainly full of energy." She finally decided to say, then gazed farther down the sand. "Are you, going down to explore as well?" Karma hoped that she was, it would be much nicer to go down with others, than to go by herself.

Wyv wibbled, feeling tired. She wanted to sleep, but she also wanted to know where this highway led. Curiosity won over unconsciousness in this battle.

"I dunno, I hope it's not too far of a walk." She said mournfully, casting a glance back over her shoulder at Makai. Confident that he would be taken care of in the event she was gone for a while on this trip of theirs, she ambled alongside of Karma and Emi.

The little gryphon romped about, quite happily and competely missed the exit of his guardian. He darted aside as Tobias trundled toward him. this was fun!

Karma turned her head to see a somewhat familiar face. It was the lady who had let her help with the buckets of water. Taking note of her statement, Karma inspected the sandbar. "It doesn't seem too far," She squinted a bit, and could make out a very vauge dark green blobs- which she guessed was the island's trees- at the other end of the natural bridge that had formed over the two islands.

Giving the sandbar futher inspection lead Karma to realise that it did not only connect just two islands. "I just noticed something, we're connected to two islands." She rubbed her eyes, and squinted at the small island once again. "I wonder which island it is." Her statements weren't to either Emi or Wyv in specific, but to both of them.

Anthony half-jogged after the guardians whom had headed to the sandbar. He had dumped his heavy bucket of water ove a small lump of rock which still appeared to be on fire.

All of the Island seemed to have calmed down now. The dust in the air was still choking but there were no more fires and no more tremors. He could see no smoke coming from the direction of Cetalu either. With a uick glance back over his shoulders at the Ar'Idil village he approched those going towards the sandbar.

"We really should begin a bit of a clearup if you ladies wouldn't mind helping" he said, slightly pleadingly. He'd need everyones support to get things back in order. "And I don't fancy going out on that sand just yet - if it's just come up from the sea then it may still be rather wet... prone to pools of quicksand and whatnot. I'd rather get a geologists report before trying it out." He looked out over the sandbar, where he could see one of the Cetalu watchtowers. Only one. There used to be two on that side of the Island... Oh dear.

He really did hope those on Cetalu were safe. "I had better radio Cetalu, too." he added, then, and turned to go back to the Lodge.

Glancing from the sandbar to Anthony and then back again, Wyv sighed. There was a flaw in that argument somewhere, but dammit, she was too tired to think of it. Besides, although she was very curious as to what lay beyond, this was the perfect opportunity to bow out gracefully and maybe sneak a nap before te reconstruction phase was in full swing. And she didn't really want to undermine Anthony's authority. She hadn't seen much of the guy, but he looked to be trying his best.

"He does have a point," she admitted, rolling the words in her mouth as if she wasn't sure she liked the taste. "How about we meet at the lodge in an hour or two. We can help repair and clean up. Then when it's done, we can mount a fully prepared expedition. Make a holiday of it, or something. After this whole schebang, looks like we and the people on the other island could use one." The other populated island was closer to the volcano, wasn't it. Well, crap. That sucked.

He tried to keep a hint of incredulity out of his voice as he looked over his shoulder at Wyv, pausing on his way back. "Yes the Lodge, that's a good idea... it might take us a little bit to clear up and any such expedition will have to be sanctioned by Alyosha before we can go on it though."

Anthony's face looked troubled as he added "I think we should worry more about making sure people have somewhere warm for the night and to make sure that the activity of the volcano has stopped and this is not a temporary reprieve..."

"The Lodge, but now would be a better time, noone should be going into their homes until we can be sure they're safe anyway, we'll do it as a group." he said firmly. He did not wish to be responsible for someones death.

Once we're done cleaning I'll need to see Emiko, Karma and Progolo, too. They've yet to have their bottles joined. Not until we're sure the housing is safe though.

((Guys, just to keep this RP less drawn out we're gonna skip a little time - do the fade to black kind of thing - and move a day or so forward where the houses have been checked and whatnot and found to be mainly just needing patched here and there. If you want to make a post describing that it's fine but could you do that in your journal? Sorry to be so abrupt but this RP has slowed to a crawl ^^; We'll mount an expedition to Cetalu soon for the next event anyway.))

It was the first time the duo had really ventured towards the western side of Ar'Idil in quite some time, paranoia after the volcanic eruption not long ago had made Chao more than a little unwilling to approach Ar'Idil's own [supposedly] dorment volcaneo.

But here they were, situated up in the northernly watch tower.

Sanar looked out across the towards the large patch of green and pointed to it, hands pausing in the systematic distruction of one of Chao's old shirts, "n' tha'?" she's gotten a hold on very basic english by now, though sometimes fell back into clicking anyway.

"That's the forest, you went in there when you were a gryphon, remember?"

"Mmm..." she did, sortof, but now there was a name to place with it. "F'res," she repeated before glancing down and grinning as she noticed she'd pulled apart the lower half of the sleve. Taking the sleeve in both hands she pulled until the fabric began to come apart, the stitching that made it up much more obvious to the naked eye than before.

Chao sighed and mourned the loss of another good shirt.

After deciding that she and Fuast desparatly needed to get out of faithful hut number two, Karma had made her way out of Setone. She hadn't been anywhere except for her cabin and the Lodge, and frankly, the guardian thought that it wouldn't do either of them any harm if they explored a bit. This exploring had lead them through a large area of grass, and left them just a little bit away from a large tower.

"A tower?" Karma asked herself, "Wonder why it's here, what it's for. I'm surprised I didn't notice it before." Shrugging, and moving on, she tossed the thought away.

A brief five minutes later, she had arrived at the base of the tower. "Well, a close up of the thing certainly doesn't help." Moments after, she heard noises coming from the opposite end of the said tower. Furrowing her brow in confusion, she peeked around the watch tower's side. "Hello?"

Sanar's ears flickered at the catches of sound on the wind and paused in her spreading of the fabric.

"'Lo?" she called back, reinforcing the call with a click incase it was one of her friends.

"Someone there San?" Chao asked, trusting her daughter's hearing better than her own.

Hearing the speaking, Karma walked to the other side of the tower. She smiled slightly, so there was someone there, and by the looks of it, it was a guardian and her Aerandir. "Oh! Hi, I heard some noises on the other side of this tower. I was curious if there was anyone over here." She said, slightly nervous, as she shifted Faust in her arms.

"Oh, hello there!" Chao called warmly as Karma moved into view. "Mmm, yes, just myself and Sanar here. You're welcome to join us if you'd like, erm.. miss..." the other woman looked very familar but she couldn't place a name to the face.

Sanar's ears flickered throughout the exchange and she set the shirt to the side, shuffling off her mother's lap to crouch on more stable ground and look at the new woman. Her eyes caught upon the jar in Karma's arms and her wings fluttered in interest. Another smooth! Like the one Makai had come from!

Walking closer to the pair, Karma nodded. "Nice to meet you two. My name is Karma, and you?" Her eyes sneaked to the Aerandir child, the lady had called her, Sanar, right? He smile widened. "Sanar is an Aerandir, I presume?" Her gaze shifted to the jar that Sanar seemed interested in. One day, Faust would be a child. It was only after looking at Sanar again, that she noticed the Aerandir's intrest in the jar. Shifting it again, Karma moved it to her other arm, the one closer to Sanar.

"It's nice to meet you Karma. I'm Chao and yep, this is Sanar, my Aerandir child," catching sight of the jar Chao brightened, "aha! I see you're an Aerandir guardian as well," she bent over to get a better look, only to be shooed off slightly by a fluff of Sanar's wings.

Huffing the teen rolled her eyes at her charge and merely resumed standing and looking at the jar, "if you don't mind me asking, what animals make up your Aerandir to be?" she asked, not recognizing either of the items held within the singgle jar.

Sanar grinned as the jar was shifted closer to her, reaching up as high as she could to touch it gently with her new hands, grinning at how much more she could feel with the tips of her fingers compared to the beak she'd used to have.

She shot a look towards her often treasure depriving mother and flapped her wings to keep her away. Then turned back to feeling the jar. Yep, it was definately another smooth like Makai's. She tugged on it gently, wanting to hold it.

"Yes, I just recently arrived. A few weeks ago I believe." Looking down at Sanar who was tugging on the jar, she knelt down, and carefully handed it to Sanar. "Be careful, okay?" She smiled at the Aerandir child before her. Standing up slowly, she looked back at Chao, looking at Faust out of the corner of her eye. It wasn't that she didn't trust Sanar, it was that she hadn't let go of Faust unless it was to be placed in a box. It was the first time anyone other than herself had held her dear soon to be Aerandir.

"Oh no, I don't mind at all. He's made up of the antler of a Reindeer, and the feather of a Ptarmigan." What about Sanar? Karma's curiosity got the better of her this time. "So Chao, what did Sanar come from?" She hoped that Chao didn't mind her asking.
