Keeping close pace behind Violet, and making sure to keep his eyes at a respectable level, Mike crossed his fingers for a Magby egg. "I've always wanted one ever since I was little, at one point even more than a Charmander!" Remembering fondly the few Magmars that used to hang out in the volcano back home, the boy recalled his boyhood dream of becomnig the greatest fire Pokemon trainer alive. The old memories made him smile.

He meant buisness, no kitten was going to mess with him. Adopting an offensive stance, Xanthos was ready to whallop this annoyance with all he had.

"So? What do you think of this place?" Sabrina asked Nina, as she sat down across from her on a small blanket that they had spread on the ground. The Gym Leader was dressed in a light blue blouse and shorts of a matching color, as opposed to the normal purple suit she typically wore.

Nina smiled, and took in a breath of the clean air that was being produced from her serene surroundings. She heard the faint cry of a Pokemon in the background, and her smile got a little bit bigger. Looking to her left, there was a large, sparkling lake, full of aquatic Pokemon. Several Goldeens, Luvdiscs, and Corsolas were amongst the Pokemon that lived inside it-- every now and then, a Luvdisc or Goldeen would jump out of the water and then go back under when it landed, while a Corsola would pop its head up occasionally. Also, a Slowpoke had its tail dipped into the water, hoping it would be bitten by a Shellder. "I love it," Nina said, gazing back to Sabrina. "How did you manage to find this place?"

"I've known of this place for quite some time," the elder sister replied. "I used to come here whenever I was stressed or having a bad day, and all the stress and everything would just... melt away." She smiled softly. "This is actually where I caught Oracle, way back when she was just a little Abra. Ever since then, this place has always been very special to me."

"I'm very grateful that you decided to share it with me," Nina said, with appreciation very obvious in her voice.

"It's not a problem, you dummy," Sabrina said with a bit of a grin on her face. "Besides, everyone deserves to have a place where they can just... get away from everything. You know?"

Nina nodded, and agreed. "I think that my comfort zone--well, back at home, anyway-- is probably the Dragon's Den in Blackthorn City. Clair used to take me in there when I was younger, and I saw my first Dratini inside there... So, that made it kind of special to me." Nina paused. "Clair's a really good woman, you know? I mean, sure, she seems to have a little bit of a gruff exterior, but she's very kind once you get to know her... She sorta reminds me of you, in that aspect."

Sabrina smiled as she laid down on her back, looking up to the sky. "Is that so?" she asked. "I hardly deserve to be compared to her; Clair is a much better trainer than I am. She's had a bit more experience, and her know-how when it comes to battling is amazing." Sabrina closed her eyes for a moment, and just listened to the sounds of her surroundings. A few seconds later, however, she grimaced badly, and her eyes opened.

"Sabrina?" Nina asked, looking over to her sister. "What's the matt-" The azul-haired girl flinched and fell backward a second later. She covered her mouth and her eyes began to water.

Sabrina's blouse had a stain of blood in the middle of it, and the dark crimson color slowly started to spread until it completely changed the blouse's color. Sabrina's eyes glassed over and she stared blankly at the sky...

Nina flung up in her bed, and let out a horrible scream of grief, before she hid her face in her hands and started to sob softly. Her hair and dress seemed to turn an even darker shade of black.

"There, you look good," Mai said, handing Kasiya the mirror.

The girl blinked and stared at her reflection. "Hey, it does look good," she admitted, smiling. "What about you?"

"Me? Hah! I'm perfect," Mai winked as she made her way over to pay the hairdresser for her work. Kasiya wandered outside the salon to wait. She was still unsure of why her sister had shown up so suddenly. Surely she had her Rocket duties to tend to, so why was she here? Kasiya's thoughts were interrupted as Mai came outside. "How about a new outfit? Nothing says new beginnings like a new outfit," the admin smiled. Kasiya smiled back and nodded, feeling both happy and confused at the same time. It was nice having someone to hang out with like this.

Next, the duo made their way to a clothing store, where they browsed for a good hour before Kasiya decided on a pair of stylish, hip-hugger jeans and a pink tank top. Deciding that her younger, impressionable sister wasn't leaving enough to the imagination, Mai insisted she also by an overshirt to at least cover up her shoulders. Kasiya didn't hesitate to change, and, after a bit more browsing, found a cute pair of matching hair clips to keep her hair in place, since it was now too short for her regular ponytail.

The boy moved his toes around the inside of his boots, feeling suddenly that they were a bit loose. He turned his legs from beneath the table to the walkway between booths. The boy bent down and tightened the laces on his boots. Kilik scratched his nose and let out a sneeze when he turned to see another few people leave the Center; this time, it was a group of girls that all had seemed to have started their journey together. He coughed once or twice, something had caught in his throat. One of the girls looked over her shoulder at him and smiled. Kilik blinked at her and then went back to his shoes. Upon seeing this, she frowned and left the Center quickly, trying to catch up with her friends.

"What?" he said softly, "I looked at her, didn't I?" he asked nobody.

Not ten minutes later, Keegan found himself waiting for Mr. Briney to finish getting the boat ready so they could depart for Slateport. The young man was leaning up against a crate, studying the Knuckle badge in his hand. "I didn't even really earn it," he muttered, putting it back in its place as he heard Mr. Briney calling out to him. It was time to go. Trying to quell the pending sickness in his stomach, Keegan boarded, only to be offered a bottle of something and two small pills. "What are these?" he asked, looking up at the old man.

"Gravol. They'll help keep you from tossin' yer cookies overboard," the man laughed. "And this be something to wash it down with."

"Alright." Keegan shrugged, and took them, nearly choking as he took a long swig from the bottle. "What the hell is this?" he sputtered between coughs.

"Brandy," the old sailor laughed, leaving Keegan feeling uneasy, Gravol or not. The boy took his former position in the center of the small boat, and soon they were off, once again with the winds in their favor.

((Never thought I would say this here but there is a lot of emoness going on in this rp right now. Lol))

"Well let's hope that we can find you one." She said as she went over to the fridge and pulled out a pair of sandwhiches wrapped in seranwrap. Shutting the fridge she offered one to Mike as she started to unwrap her own. "You might as well get something to eat while we look." She said leaning her back on the counter. "So why do you like fire pokemon so much?" She asked curiosly.

((So I've noticed. Forget to post for a few days and everything gets all active again.))
He wasn't sure if it was the rocking of the boat, or the pills he'd just taken, or even the lingering disgust of the brandy he'd just choked down, but Keegan was finding it hard to stay awake. He drifted in and out of sleep, often been startled awake by Briney's loud singing. It seemed the old sailor had a deep-seeded love for ballads of the ocean. As annoying (and off key) as it was though, Keegan found it immensly better than being seasick, like last time. He'd just dozed off again, and was seeing Loki's evolution once again when the boat jerked to a stop, sending the youth flying down the deck. He got to his feet, and looked around, they'd arrived.

Keegan said his thanks and goodbyes to the sailor, hoping that they'd meet again someday, and made his way through town, taking in the sights of the bustling city. He'd come quite a ways when he noticed there was a battle going on in the middle of a square - a boy was fighting a reporter and a cameraman - two people who looked incredibly familiar.

Why? Who wouldn't!?

"There is no playing around with Fire types, what you see is what you get, offensive powerhouses." Mike stood up proudly, his flame decorated clothes blowing in the wind. "They just ooze raw power, and all that heat, it's just the perfect type! Add the fact that I grew up around a volcano and it's pretty simple!" He clapped, a small click being heard. "Hm?" Was all he could let out before a short burst of flames shot straight up from his hands into the sky. The boy yelped, totally forgetting about the invention his mom insisted on giving him, those psycho arsonist gloves.

"Um...never mind that, my mother has a little too much time on her hands." He blushed, taking note to be more careful as he took a bite out of his sandwich. "So yeah, the Magmar..."

Violet was a bit alarmed at the shot of fire and jumped a little when the fire suddenly appeared. "Your mom gave you that? That's pretty dangerous..." She said as she looked at Mike curiosly. "Well the most likely place to find a magmar here would probably be near the artifical cave I have here." She said after a moment of thought. "I dont know why but all my fire type's like to spend time there." Moving towards the back door that would allow them to enter the large pokemon filled area. "Let's hope we can find her there and convice her to give you her egg if she has one."

This was the deciding moment, it was all down to this...

Mike's fingers rapped on the inside of the artificial cave.

"So what are you going to do now?" Mai asked, as the two walked down the streets of Petalburg.

"I should call him," Kasiya responded almost instantly. "And you know who I mean."

Mai had opened her mouth to say something, but smiled, and instead, said something else entirely. "So this other boy, does he have a name?" she asked casually, adjusting the bag she'd swung over her shoulder.

"Uhh..." Kasiya looked at the ground for a moment, then back up at Mai. "His name is Keegan," she said after a few moment of silence. "I feel so guilty about this. He's gonna hate me for what I've done. I'm such a fake."

"Don't say that," Mai returned, stopping and putting her hands on her hips. "You are not a fake, and you don't know what's going to happen. And besides, if you're honest with him, and he's as good of a guy as you claim he is, then he'd understand. I mean, if he asked you to be his girlfriend in the first place, he must really like you, right?"

"Well, I guess so," Kasiya replied a little sheepishly. "I'll call him, then," she said, taking a deep breath and taking out her phone. She started dialing, but stopped and glared at Mai. "You should... go over there, and be quiet and stuff," Kasiya said, attempting to shoo her sister away. Mai only chuckled, and pretended to be interested in some merchandise in a store window as Kasiya finished dialing, and hit 'send.' She couldn't help but feel a bit nervous and scared as it started to ring.

The sound of his PokeNav ringing nearly caused him to fall over. Actually, he did fall over. Now sitting on his bottom on the ground, he fidgeted around until he found the ringing machine, and glanced down at the name. A slight feeling of uneasyness overcame him, but he figured that was still the effects of the Gravol on his body. It seemed to throw everything off. "Hello?" he said, hoping he didn't sound as shaky as he felt. "Kas? Is that you? Are you safe?"

Don't hang up. Don't hang up. she told herself over and over again until she heard him anser. "Hi," she answered, in a small voice. "Yeah, it's me, and I'm alright," she replied. "But you don't sound so good. You sould like you're going to be sick, are you alright?" She bit her lip lightly as she waited for a reply. Not over the phone, she scolded herself a the thought. "Listen, uh, I really need to talk to you," she said, twirling her hair around her finger, although not to the effect she was used to. "In person. It's... important," she said, after a second or so of hesitation. "Where are you?"

"Just a little bit of leftover sea sickness," Keegan responded, mostly truthfully. "Remember what happened last time?" He chuckled, and got to his feet. The more he moved, the quicker he started to feel better. "Sure, of course," he replied. "I'm in Slateport, we just got here. Where are you? Do you want me to come there? Or what?"

"Uh, I don't know, what would be easiest?" she asked, looking around. She had no idea when the trains were running or how long it would take to get there.

At this point Mai came over, and put her hand on her sister's shoulder. "I can fly you wherever you need to go with my Pokemon," she said in a low voice. Kasiya nodded.

"I can meet you there, say, at the Pokemon Center?" she asked, checking her watch. "Shouldn't be too long." Mai nodded, already releasing her Pokemon. "I'll be there soon, okay?" she said, and clicked off the phone before he had time to respond. "He doesn't sound mad. At least not yet." She gave Mai a fake smile.

"None of that," Mai replied, and helped her get up onto her Flygon's back. Mai climbed on behind her, and held onto the girl's waist protectively. "Ready?" Kasiya nodded. "Okay Sirrus, back to Slateport!" the admin said, and the three of them were soon in the air, heading towards Slateport City.
