My guidance pass, ID card, train ticket, Wal-Mart receipt, balling wire, plants, pencils, pens, sticky notes, toilet paper, just flipping the book over, a chocolate bar wrapper, a sheet of stamps, etc., have all been used at some point or another. Anything within reach; or if I can't find anything quick enough, I just shove the book upside-down or commit the page number to memory.

Of all those methods, I like sticky-notes the best. One time I had a silk and sterling silver bookmark, really nice, but I lost it. I always do.

I can use even bus ticket as bookmark.. lol

I use my homework because I can't remember my folder but I can always remember my books. 4laugh

I refuse to dogear.
I also refuse to highlight, underline, or otherwise write in my books.

I went through a phase in high school where every book, textbook, etc. I had was marked up beyond recognition almost.
Then I got over it and now love to keep my books pristine.
They're my treasures. [:

For bookmarks, I tend to use straw wrappers,
napkins,
kleenex,
and various other already flat, thin, paper-like substances.
Dunno why, that's just what I tend to grab.
I have plenty of 'real' bookmarks but I never use them.

I've used paper, sticky notes, actual bookmarks, tissues (clean ones), and even sticker packages xd Once I acutaly used a bandaid (it wasn't used) because it was late and I couldn't find anything redface

I'll use anything that I can find. That, of course, won't ruin the book.

I never dogear my pages. And I hate hate hate it when people do that to my books when I let them borrow the books. I get all pissed off and end up yelling at them... sweatdrop

i never dogear, i always use a trading card tucked inside one of those shinny plastic protectors
Once it was stolen and the person tried to read it, but it was all in Japanese biggrin

I will use whatever is within reach or memorize the page.
I NEVER NEVER EVER! dogear pages. I hate it when people do that especially in a book of mine that they borrow.
I do get bookmarks ocasionally but end up lossing them in my room at school or leave them in the book and forget about them once I'm done. Though if I can hang in to it I use the bookmark a lot.
I have one that I got like 4 years ago that I haven't managed to lose, but it's so worn. I'm surprised it doesn't fall apart when I pick it up
