'His spirit is not among the land of the dead. He cannot be seen in this world, though. He is here on this world, but somewhere I cannot detect. I searched for some time, and could not feel his presence. Someone has him somewhere where there are powerful magics at play. Magics more powerful than mine.' The old sage replied. 'If this is true, than we will be going into somewhere where we will fight. This is why I ready for war. It will come, and I know it will. Battle will be wherever we end up.'

The warrior-sage opened a pouch, and put some more ingredients into it, and grabbed a few scrolls, placing them in scroll-cases on his belt. 'We cannot let ourselves think there will be no fighting. That will be foolish, and get us killed. We must be prepared.'

As Uncle told her the situation, Kerrigan perked up slightly. Whatever was going on with Krii was not of this world, or at least it was with something greater than she had faced before. It was nice to know that Uncle was on her side, and even more relieved to feel like she was doing the right thing.

As he said that they needed to be prepared for fighting, Kerrigan nodded, switching modes from concerned fiancee to hunter. She looked more focussed, her eyes hardening into a deeper shade of crimson.

"Right. Uncle, can you think of anyone that would specifically target Krii? Normally, I someone were to go after Hunter management they would go after Will or his family, at least I would think so. Maybe if we can track down a few suspects we can figure out who is behind this."

'I am unsure, Kerrigan. I do not remember him telling me of any enemies he had, or has. I do not know anything about his family, so I cannot say if his family made any enemies, either.' the sage replied. 'All I can say is we must find whoever is behind this, and retrieve our Omega.'

He started for the door, to return to the General Areas.

Kerrigan nodded to him and walked out of the door to follow him into the general areas. By now, Tokeru and Eden should have already left, though working with the new hunters might make this progress take a little longer than normal.

Kerrigan walked into the room, looking rather disheveled. She practically slammed the door behind her, glad to leave that Janine and her knights alone for the time being. She had more important things to deal with.

"Uncle," she called out, stepping quickly into the room and looking around.

'Ohayo?' Yoshiro replied. 'I'm researching what I can on this Astaroth. I have found a little. Apparently, he was indeed a greater daemon, with his own legion, as the HIN Administrator reported. He is very obsessed with his appearance, and draws out the vanity in people nearby, when he is present.' the mage spoke, walking out from behind one of the bookcases. 'How may I help you?'

Kerrigan listened to the explanation of who and what Astaroth was in silence as the elderly man came out. She was glad that he had been doing his research.

"I don't think the Tainted have Krii," she said simply, walking over to a stool and sitting down, running her hands back over her tired face.

"It just doesn't make any sense. Especially when we were under a sort of alliance with them. And, the Tainted elder and Krii have always had a mutually respectful relationship with one another." She looked up to him to see what it was he thought, though she was sure that he would agree with her. Hopefully she would not be the only one to see this.

'Quite the contrary.' Uncle replied. He set the book down in front of her, 'This is why Astaroth has Sethe.' He turned the book to face her, and on the page was a medieval picture of a man in robes, with two men on either side of him, all three with their arms to the heavens, circling a being with golden horns, and golden draconic scales on his forearms, with great beautiful wings. The creature had a human head, white beautiful white hair. It was being bound to a stone, and it's legs were clearly depicted as already becoming stone.

The obvious leader of the three men also had white hair, with white glowing eyes. Under the man was writing. Uncle pointed to the writing, and read it to her, 'That says Teslae. This is Sethe's ancestor, binding Astaroth in stone. Astaroth's minions must have Sethe, which means Astaroth is in New York.'

Kerrigan's eyes went side slightly as she made the connection. This was horrible. She heaved a great sigh, a soft whimper escaping her in her moment of weakness. She was glad it was only Uncle who was around now to see her broken. She was tired, she was lonely, she was confused, and now she was worried. Still, Kerrigan would not show this side of herself to anyone but the elderly man in front of her. He would be the only one to see her in her moment of darkness.

"So, what do we do," she asked, genuinely not sure. With the arrival of the Vatican, she was unsure which of the hunters she should trust and which she should not. The ones who were openly against the Vaitcan being there were not ready for such a dangerous mission, she could not work with Tokeru without wanting to rip his head off, and Edith would follow the Vatican if her life depended on it. Right now, it did. Kerrigan knew that she could not take this being on by herself, and she felt as if there was no one that was going to help her voluntarily.

"Any idea who we can trust," she asked, as a sort of tack on to her previous question.

'It is unfortunate Will is also missing, or I would say him. But, as he is not around, the only person for you to trust... is me, I fear.' The elder closed the tome, and walked around the bookcase he emerged from previously. He replaced the book, and sighed.

'If I knew anyone else to trust, I would say it. But I fear there is no one else can help us in this...' Uncle came back from behind the bookcase. 'What do you want to do is the question, not what can we do.'

"I want him back," Kerrigan said immediately, fanged bared as she rounded on the man. There was no question in her mind. However, she was having a hard time seeing how the two of them could take down a being of that strength without help from anyone. Not to mention, someone would have to keep an eye on things here and make sure that the Vatican was really looking for the leaders and not simply using it as a ruse to keep people happy while they really just took over.

"He would want the Hunters safe," she said, the anger disappearing from her eyes as she stood from the stool. The Vatican was making Kerrigan completely uncomfortable. Normally, she would have left, no problem, but she felt an obligation to the other hunters to keep the Vatican in her eye for any funny business. She was not a leader, but she had been with the Hunters longer than any of them, and she would be damned before she let something happen to them on her watch.

"Uncle, I need you to tell me that the two of us could get him back," she said, looking at the old man with almost pleading eyes.

'I would like to think we could.' Uncle began, '...but I think it would be wise to stay here, and keep our eyes on these Knights of the Seraphim. I do not know if I trust their motives for being here. Anyway, maybe we can use them to get Krii'Ouse back, even if they *aren't* here to look for them.'

Uncle sat down, he was old after all. 'However, if you want to go to find Sethe, I will not stop you, and if you ask my help, I will not refuse.'

God, how Kerrigan wanted to go after Krii. She needed him. Still, she knew in the back of her mind that the old man was right. Haven needed them now, and it would be selfish of her to go out on her own when there was so much to do here.

"For now, I'll stay around Haven and see what I can find out about these knights. Uncle, maybe you can see if there is a connection between them and this Astaroth? Something is not right about them being here. They do not even have the Pope's permission," she said, forgetting that Uncle had not been there to hear her conversation with Janine.

'I will do what I can.' was the elderly man's reply. He went back into the back, and waved as he disappeared into the recesses of the talismongery.
