The red faded from Gaius' face, temper abating and face softening, though his eyebrows still remained furrowed together.

"I didn't realize it was such a big deal for you, or that you felt that way... I'm sorry. I just saw you explode suddenly over news that she seemed happy and excited about... I guess it'd be like them taking my blueprints and using them as their own... But I think you're wrong about no one caring. If that girl's any indication, your fans are excited that Sno Cone isn't going to die... You've left a legacy that so many people love, which is more than most of us here can say... At least you had an impact. If no one cared, then they wouldn't try to keep Sno Cone going..."

A weak smile pulled at the corner of Gaius' mouth and he shrugged. "Besides, I have a little slightly stained penguin on my shelf that means worlds more to me than any theater."

"...You kept that ratty thing?" Marshall asked, trying his hardest not to smirk. That would completely ruin the 'I hate you' thing they had going moment ago.

"And...I just didn't want to lose Sno Cone...Man, that sounds pretty selfish doesn't it?" Marshall sighed. He felt almost...relieved. As if a weight had been taken from his shoulders.

"Of course I did!" Gaius frowned, upset that Marshall would doubt him. "It was my birthday present!"

Taking another step forward, hoping that he'd be allowed inside instead of having to stand outside the threshold, Gaius continued, "It's... not selfish. How you acted outside of that was kinda selfish, though... That fan of yours might think you're a pretty big jerk. I wouldn't want to lose my work either... maybe you should keep making it? That way, what you have here will still be the 'original' edition... and someday it can be made into one of those collector items," he smirked, punching Marshall playfully in the shoulder.

"Heh..." Marshall smiled a little, letting Gaius into his messy abode, accepting the playful punch to the shoulder. Part of him was still upset, to an extent, and Gaius' comment on how he should keep drawing did nothing but twist the proverbial knife.

"I-Its not as easy as it sounds...No fingers, y'know? Kinda makes pencil holding hard..." Marshall said with a sigh, holding up his flipper hand.

Gaius winced at the distinct sensation that he'd stuck one of his very large feet straight in his mouth. "Sorry... I forgot..."

"But still..." he continued, his face growing stern again as he shifted gears, "even though you were upset, that doesn't excuse what you did to the girl in the cafeteria." He shook his maned head. "I can't let that slide. You need to find her and give her a proper apology... It's what any gentleman would do."

Marshall sighed, defeated. "Yeah...I know. Even if I wasn't pissed at her, she still thinks I am. And thats not cool, especially if she's new or some thin'...Ummm...One issue, though." Marshall said, scratching the back of his feathered neck, "You have any idea where she lives?"

Gaius shook his tall head. "Not a clue... but maybe she's been added to that duplex list in the cafeteria? I only noticed it recently..." He rubbed at the back of his neck, feeling rather foolish for having missed something like that for so long...

"You did catch her name, right?"
PostPosted: Thu Jan 11, 2007 5:52 pm

"Ummmm...No, sure didn't. And I get the feeling that you didn't, either, didja?" Marshall sighed, slouching. "Not like I can go door-to-door asking if any one had seen a blond haired girl with elf ears." Marshall grumbled to himself.

Marshall's moody comment got a bop on the head from Gaius, who smirked and folded his arms again. A raised eyebrow seemed to say he thought differently. "Oooh? Somehow, I think you can... or you can at least ask around if anyone has seen someone like her... It's an island, after all. There's only so many people we can run into..."

Marshall looked up at Gaius, smirking. "Alright...But you're helping me find her. Deal?" Marshall said, wondering why exactly he was even going along with this. A few moments ago, he detested Gaius, and now it was as if nothing had happened.

I guess its just what brothers do...?

"Me?!" he protested, "Why do I have to help you fix something you did? What do you think I am, your dad or something?" His tone was playful, and even as he feigned a look of mock-insult, he couldn't help but smirk.

"I'll see what I can do, but I really gotta get back to work on the construction site... I need to hound some more people into labor. Whole thing falls apart without me, you know." Gaius sighed dramatically and grinned.

"Hey, Fraternal bonds. Mi mistako su mistako!" Marshall said with a playful shrug, showing that he had no idea how to speak any Spanish what so ever.

"And its not like you live on the construction site y'know. I'm sure it won't blow up if you're not there to bully people into doing dirty work." Marshall giggled.

"But! But! What if there's a grave matter that only I, in all my brilliance, can fix with my amazing brain?" Gaius raised his eyebrows as far as they could go in an effort to look perplexed, then broke into a smile and shrugged. "I guess you're right... Anyways, I was thinking, that DVD you gave me could use some watching. Think we can take over the entertainment room for a little while?" His grin broadened. The matter was taken care of, as far as he was concerned, and both could get back to their usual activities. "You'll have to get the popcorn."

"Heh heh...Okay, sounds fair enough." Marshall said, trying to hide his enthusiasm. Movie nights were simple, and Marshal enjoyed watching movies by himself all the time. Yet, there was just some thing to be said about watching a movie with friends.

Deep down, it just reminded Marshall of a simpler time, when Gaius was still really tall but didn't have a long neck or back wings, and he didn't have black feathers or a pseudo-beak.

Movies reminded him of normality.

Grinning, Gaius gave Marshall a playful noogie as the guy closed the door behind them, continuing a light banter as they walked towards the village center.

For now, at least, things seemed to have returned to a semblance of normalcy, and life could continue as it once had, at least for the duration of a movie.
