Feeling the strange trickle of power flood through him at Roxas' statement, glad for the moment that Roxas had finally overcome his demon, that they both had been given something even in the shadow of despair, Sora grinned and nodded at the blonde's words.

"You did good, Roxas." Without the other boy, Sora knew that the task would be much harder, and now that they both were gifted with Ultima... it felt glorious.

Rushing forward to catch him as his brother pitched towards the ground, Sora grunted slightly as he barely managed to keep the blonde's face from an up close and personal encounter with the floor.

"Roxas--!" Slowly easing him to the ground, the Keyblade Master sat beside the unconscious boy, not quite about to wake him up yet. They had been through hell, Roxas especially, and he probably deserved some rest. The sun was already rising even as Sora settled down beside his sleeping brother, smiling softly. Aros was settled, for the moment, and the prospect of retrieving Riku, of seeing him loomed ever closer.

His smile faded, however, at the fact that Riku had most probably hated his guts thoroughly, and it was probably his fault...a hand gingerly stroking the cheek where Riku had slapped him earlier, Sora bit his lip even as the pain flooded back to him.

Sora might have been determined to get him out of there, but that didn't mean that it didn't hurt.

Looking up as the doors opened, revealing a familiar, kind face, Sora couldn't help but smile broadly at Will's warm greeting. Will had always been nice and easygoing, and he couldn't remember when the older man had been downright nasty to anyone.

"Hey, Will." Sora greeted quietly, sapphire eyes twinkling with warmth and relief. "Roxas here got a little worn out, can you help me carry him back to the Governor's house?" His smile became a little sheepish as he nodded at the exit. "I think I need a little rest, too..."

Elizabeth sat down with a cup of tea. It had been a rough night, she met these strange people, the only familiar one being Sora. The next thing she knew she was letting them stay at her father's manor. They all slept soundly, with only minor stirs from nightmares. The girls called Namine and Kairi were so sweet and strangely looked so much alike. Perhaps they were sisters? Cousins maybe? Elizabeth had put them in the room that held all her old clothes from when she was there size. Maybe the two girls could find something more aproppriate to dress in. They were in Port Royal and she just knew what Norrington would have said of their attire, her father agreeing. "Scandalous" The thought echoed through her mind. Their attire wasn't all bad to her, it seemed rather interesting to her.

She sipped the last of her tea and directed a servant to take it away. Picking up her skirts, she tiptoed up the stone steps of the kitchen staircase that lead directly to Namine and Kairi's room. She knocked on the door, praying they were awake and that she didn't wake them up if they weren't.

"Namine? Kairi? Are you awake yet?" she asked quietly into the door.

Will nodded, standing up straight and walking over to the two. "Yes, you two should get some rest. I do hope you don't plan on always being this nocturnal when you stay with us..." there was laughter in his voice, he hadn't laughed in a long time.

It was usually when Sora came, Sora's antics always amused the blacksmith. The boy was so young, to be thrown into this keyblade nonsense....yet he still acted like the child he was.

Lifting Roxas up, carefully placing his left arm behind his neck and holding onto the boy with his free arm.

"Sora, some assistance...?"

Elizabeth got no response from the door and quietly tiptoed back into her own bedroom. She took off her bedrobe, wearing only her nightgown and dug through her wardrobe trying to find something to wear. Will had gone off early as usual and she needed to be ready when he got back. She picked out a crimson colored dress with white lace all around the neckline. Perfect, she thought.

After dressing she ordered the servants to make breakfast ready for Sora and the others. She wouldn't be a good host without one. The dining table was covered with foods from pork, eggs, and loaves of bread all prepared neatly with elegance. The finest untensils were laid out, her mother' good silver that Elizabeth had taken with her when her mother passed away on the ship to Port Royal. Golden goblets were filled with a cold water and tiny glasses of juices were next to them. A loose curl fell out of Elizabeth's hair and servant quickly fixed it.

Will would be back in any second, probably hungry as ever. Hopefully Sora and Roxas would be awake by that time, as well as the others. She wanted to get to know them so well, it seemed so awkward not knowing hardly anyone. She was especially exited by Kairi and Namine, finally for the first time she wasn't surrounded by men. Will or Jack, they were still men and she'd finally get aquainted with the two girls.

Kairi woke up and hopped out of bed, looking over at Namine. Who looked like she was asleep...oh well, Kairi would come back and wake her up later. The princess brushed her hair lightly and poked her head out the door.

Sora had left her a note on the message board, saying if he wasn't back to take the gummi ship and leave. She bit her lip and ran to his room.

She hoped his was back.

"Sora...? Sora are you in there? Sora? Roxas?" hearing Elizabeth down the hall, Kairi turned and went into the room.

"E-excuse me, Miss Elizabeth..." she had never really spoken to the woman...and the woman being noble didn't help. "Have you seen Sora? Do you know where he is?"

Port Royal - Warehouse

He seemed to be plagued with dreams more and more. At first it was the one the previous night in the World That Never Was. And how this? Xeryim? How much was true? Was it really Xeryim? It couldn’t be… Not with that keyblade… Not after what he said.

But then Riku’s voice reached out to him. In his time of peril, his friend had escaped the barriers of Kingdom Hearts and spoke with Roxas. He was safe… At least somewhat. That b*****d Xeryim had got him but did not kill him. He was fine for now. It was just… what was Roxas going to do.

Groaning, Roxas stirred. What was--…?

“Sora?” The blonde blinked, eyes focusing on a face… Will? When did he get here? Why was he carrying him? Oh yeah… He fainted or something… You can’t dream when you’re conscious.

“Thanks Will but I’m fine,” Roxas mumbled, pushing himself from Will’s arms and landing heavily on his feet. The boy staggered for a few moments in a slow but successful attempt to regain his balance.

Yeah… I’m just fine…

Warehouse

With a goofy grin that couldn't be gotten rid of by anything other than a cosmic crowbar, Sora had gone over to help Will with Roxas, his mind switching back to the last conversation he'd had with Riku. Apparently, the older boy had managed to get access to the Heartless' accounts, and Sora had spent most of the earlier time speaking with him.

It was wonderful knowing that Riku didn't hate him, and with that conversation, a large weight had been lifted off him, leaving the Keyblade Master with a buoyant feeling of relief, joy, hope, and most importantly, love.

Sora was about to reach for Roxas, to support him somehow when the blonde suddenly came to, pushing himself from the blacksmith's hold and landing on his feet.

For a moment there, Sora was afraid that he'd actually lose his balance or something, but he didn't.

"Roxas," Sora spoke, moving over to where he was as he looked his brother over. Roxas still looked like death warmed over even with the short period of unconsciousness, and he frowned slightly.

"We're going back to Elizabeth's place now," Sora told him warmly, gesturing towards the doorway. It was already past sunrise, and Kairi would be awake anytime now; considering his note to her the night before, Sora knew that they had to get back, or else Kairi would start worrying again. "We'll take a short rest there, then think about what to do next, okay?"

Will nodded, "Yes, we should get back" If Elizabeth found out he was gone...oh boy.

She didn't like it when he left without a word.

Leading the two back to the house, Will turned to talk to them over his shoulder.

"Well, you two must have been doing something of importance...I won't ask..but do try to be careful?" he turned back and opened the door to the manor. "Now then...I'm sure breakfast is still out, or you can just catch up on the sleep you neglected last night" he grinned and walked inside, holding the door for the two.

"I for one, will probably be explaining where I was so early in the morning to Elizabeth." he looked nervous.

Yep, Will would be a hen-pecked husband alright.

Elizabeth looked at Kairi. The girl looked confused.

"Sora? I believe he is still sleeping with Roxas, I haven't heard anything from the bedroom. Will should be coming back soon, perhaps you could ask him," replied Elizabeth. She patted the redhead on the head.

She guided the girl with a finger down the stairs and into the kitchen. The food was still hot and still beckoning everyone who saw it to come and devour the delicacies.

"Perhaps, you could awaken Miss Namine and we could all enjoy a morning meal?"

Outside the Governor's Residence

Sora, frankly speaking, was of the opinion that Will was a very smart man. With a nod of thanks as he entered, he didn't miss Will's nervous expression, and could SO understand what he was feeling. Girls were scary people, sometimes, and Elizabeth was probably the scariest of them all.

She was beautiful and princess-like, but Sora had a niggling suspicion that she could probably stand down an entire horde of rampaging, undead sailors AND scare them as well, especially when she got angry.

Inwardly glad that at least Riku wasn't capable of instilling bloodcurdling terror in him at a mere glance - or worse - Sora found it within him to be sympathetic to Will's current predicament, and also feeling a little bad that they were the ones about to get him in trouble with his fiancee.

Idly, though, Sora wondered if they would be invited to the wedding. It would be a grand affair, he knew, and having never actually attended a single wedding in his life, the boy was very much curious as to what a real wedding looked like. Was it all girly and wimpy and chock-full of flowers?

His mother once told him that weddings were events in which two people who were deeply in love with each other promised to spend their entire lives with one another, and so on. He kind of tuned out after that particular sentence, because the rest had degenerated into how good he would look in a tuxedo and what his girlfriend should be like.

Only...Riku wasn't a girl. And he was sure that he wouldn't be giving his mom the grandchildren that she really wanted. Biting his lip at that thought, he pushed the strange, clammy little feeling to the back of his mind.

He really didn't know how his mother - how the others on the island would react, but Riku's response to earlier question during their talk had settled things somewhat, and the Keyblade Master contented himself with his lover's words. Well, at least it proved that Riku loved him as much as Sora loved him, and right now, that little fact went a long way towards keeping him in that happy mood.

The future could take care of itself, Sora decided with the naivete of a sixteen year old boy who was deeply in love, because all he could see, and all he could ever want now was just Riku.

With his thought processes sorted out, the boy turned his attention back to Will with a grin. "Do you want us to help you, Will?" Sora offered, not wanting to see his friend get into trouble because of them.

Outside the Governor's Residence

Rest... That sounded like the best course of action. Though Roxas had slept the night before, it had only been for a few hours. He spent a much longer time in combat with Aros. Then there was Sora to consider. He was going through just as much, if not more, than Roxas was. If anyone deserved a rest, he did.

"Right," Roxas nodded, following Sora and Will out of the warehouse and back down the road.

It was certainly kind of Will to be helping them like this. Roxas couldn't help but feel horrible. Will, and Elizabeth too, were now wrapped up in this mess with the Heartless. The boundries between the worlds were destroyed when the Septsinian appeared in Twilight Town. Now look what it came to? They certainly couldn't drag Will and Elizabeth in this too.

Will's talk about Elizabeth churned up Roxas' own thoughts of Namine. He hadn't seen her last night like he had hoped. At that time, the possiblity of failure dangled before him. But now... Now Aros was defeated. He could see Namine! Nothing would happen! They were safe! Well, at least for now.

"Do you want us to help you, Will?"

Roxas grinned, one that was identical to Sora's. "That's right. We'd be glad to."

Govener's House

Will shook his head, "No, no it's alright. No need for you two to be scolded as well" he grinned sheepishly before heading to the dining room, taking in the scent of the fresh food that still lingered there.

"Come into the dining room when you're hungry, though you may want to get some sleep first."

He had noticed that Roxas and Sora were alot alike, especially after Roxas grinned, the exact same way as Sora.

It did seem strange when Roxas seemed to know him before he knew Roxas...it was probably another complicated issue; like the heartless. Will thought it best that he didn't know...he liked trying to keep a simple life.

Kairi was halfway down the hall when she heard voices coming from downstairs...voices that sounded an awful lot like...

"Sora! Roxas!" the young princess ran down the stairs, "You came back! How'd everything go?" She was glad they were there, Sora had told her if they weren't back, to take the gummi and go.

That was the last thing she wanted to do.

The thought of leaving her friends was pushed out of her mind as she smiled, somewhat sadly. There still was the problem of Seifer, and how down he was. Kairi was terribly worried about him...but after cheering him up a bit, she did have some confidence that she would see him soon.

he promised...when he settled things with Leon..er..Squall...he would come to visit me.

She would remember that promise.

Nodding at Will's words, and more than grateful for a chance to take a short nap - Sora was exhausted; ever since he regained control of his body, said body hadn't had a chance to rest, and he knew that he was running on fumes.

Not a good thing, especially with whatever that lay ahead in front of--

Sora blinked as his heart skipped a beat quite suddenly, for no real rhyme or reason, and he had a strange feeling that Riku was speaking to him, somehow. There were no words, but he recognized it. Either that, or he was more tired than he thought.

Yeah, he was probably tired, considering that he was not hearing voices that was supposed to be--

Eh. That was a little too confusing to get his mind around, as sleepy as he was. Nevertheless, a tiny, fond smile crossed his lips as the thought of his lover crossed his mind again. They were going to get to him soon, with the help of Sloth, and with any luck, they were going to be together again...

"Sora! Roxas! You came back! How'd everything go?"

Perking up at the welcome sound of Kairi's voice, Sora flashed her a warm smile before nodding. "Morning, Kairi. Everything went well; we're both still here, see?" No point really elaborating on what they had done, seriously, because for one, Sora liked seeing her smile and was not about to say anything that would upset her; two, he'd already spoken to her on the networks on the way home, and three, this was Roxas' victory, so if anything, Roxas should be the one to speak.

"Have you had breakfast yet?" He continued, stifling a yawn. His stomach grumbled, but Sora was feeling far too sleepy to drag himself into the dining area. Maybe after a little shuteye, he could attack the kitchens to search for food, or something. "If you're gonna eat, Roxas, save something for me." He wasn't too worried about the blonde picking out something that Sora hated; they shared similar tastes, after all, and the boy was bound to like whatever Roxas liked.

Elizabeth was waiting in the dining room. Will had come back, as had Sora and the other boy. Hopefully, both boys would come in and join the breakfast. The servants had gone through so much trouble to prepare a nice feast for the strange guests. Everyone had been scurrying about, preparing rooms, washrooms, everything needed to be in tip top shape. Governor Swann needed come across as a good host, the same for his daughter.

Will had been exceptionally welcoming of the guests, and Elizabeth trusted them. They were Sora's friends and whoever his friends were, they were hers as well...with the exception of Jack, the no good pirate scoundrel he was. Elizabeth took a deep breath that was cut short by the tight corset she was wearing.

"Will? Boys? Kairi? Come here and enjoy some breakfast," she shouted. It was too late for shut-eye, no naps, no sleeping. The morning was bright and they day anew. It was time to begin the days work, Elizabeth had wanted to take Kairi to a shop to try on a few gowns. Will could maybe give Sora a refresher on navigating through Port Royal. However, considering the circumstances, she could maybe allow Sora and friend a breather

Governor's House - Dining Room

Roxas grinned at Will’s words. “Okay.” He answered. He felt Will inspecting him for a few moments before taking his seat. That was something he was going to get used to, wasn’t it? The similarities between him and Sora were all too obvious, even to the average person. If that was so, what would happen on Destiny Islands?

”Sora! Roxas! You came back! How'd everything go?"

Kairi came bustling through, calling them over. “Yeah, it went good I guess…” Roxas mumbled. The time he spent in Sora’s World was successful but not one he wished to reflect upon. “We defeated Aros. He should be quiet for awhile anyway.”

They were then waved over by Elizabeth who offered yet more food. Thanking her, Roxas took a seat at the table and looked back at Sora. “You might as well eat now and sleep a little later, right?”

Of course sleep was not exactly something he looked forward to. Maybe he didn’t need it like Sora did. He would simply let him rest. Maybe in that time Roxas could find Namine and they’d go to the World That Never Was with the card that now resided in his pocket while Sora was asleep. That way there were no worries and he wouldn’t be tempted to come along.

The last thing he wanted to see was his own brother getting hurt once again.
