I'm a British subject, still. I do not approve of the ridiculous display of pointless spending. 'nuff on that.
I finished my first marathon today. It was hard. Now I know why my marathon running friends say, "It ain't called a marathon for nothing." It was so hard in that last 2 miles, I was practically talking myself down off a ledge. Apparently I wasn't showing the pain I was feeling, though, so, good!

Lots of people spend huge sums of money for sports events, the Olympics, the Oscars, independence day fireworks shows, and so on. I enjoyed the music and show of the wedding.
However, I hope that the royals will repay the public by doing a lifetime of public service.
Congrats on doing the marathon, Lyx! smile

That's awesome, Lyx! I always wanted to run a marathon, mostly because I know it's difficult and painful to do, but after you run it and cross the finish line, I can only image what a huge sense of accomplishment you'd have.
I'm excited that I get to go hiking this Saturday. There was a trail behind our old house that went down to a camping spot on the lake. It's about a half hour to 45 minute hike through the desert, and we're going to go have a BBQ out at the lake for my boyfriends birthday.

I found it pretty hard, but it was really good. I'll do it again. Just not soon. biggrin
Your hike sounds awesome, PHM, let me know how it all goes. What a great idea for a birthday. smile

Breyer Lyx, next time you could have the mule go with you to carry supplies of water and coffee! Brilliant! I shall! Now for some post-post-race coffee and breakkie. My legs feel a lot better today than yesterday. I can sit down without falling, now! Whoohooo!

Try a warm bath with some epsom salt. That usually helps my sore legs with over exertion.

So what has everyone been up to on Gaia lately? I've had a ton of tokens stashed away from the daily chance, so I decided that this week I was going to spend some time playing the slots. I've met some really nice people, including a Desert Storm vet!

I'm mostly hanging around guilds and sometimes games. I found a video of a mule dancing! I wonder if our guild mule dances like this! Be warned, the video has lots of flashing lights so don't go here if you're sensitive to those. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LtXyfucsEU

That's hilarious, Breyer. I think our mule dances better, though. biggrin
I've been madly playing Booty Grab, and Zomg! I keep getting killed by garlics, and have almost no in game gold left. Nice people notice sometimes, and heal my character.
Last night I downloaded Hot Springs Story, and that was it for the Internet. What an addictive game. I love it so much!
