They don't have have to be 'beautiful' at all. This guy's a BEAST I tell ya 8DD slashing all that comes his way blood splattering everywhere *3* looks are a bit rugged but I lurv him <3

Yeah, most of the ugliness in suikoden comes from Suikoden 4. I'd say as far as the original character art is concerned it's a tie between Akaghi and Pablo.
... And Leknaat is the sexiest Suikoden character ever! heart (Too bad she'll never be a SoD)

You're kidding, right? S4 had kickass art. Most of the ugliness in the Suikoden series came from S1, and that's because Junko Kawano couldn't draw for s**t back then.
Case in point: Millich Oppenheimer, Onil, and Esmeralda.

Actually the art from the original was my fav lol. I thought all the characters looked unique and memorable (well most, I shouldn't say all... QUICY!). The linework and general quality of the art in Suikoden 4 was probably superior, but I thought the designs were really ugly. Like half the people in the art book are hideous. To list some:
Akaghi, Bang, Pablo, Charlemange, Dario, Deborah, Gary... The list just goes on!
PS: What's wrong with Esmeralda? sad

And those are just the hot ones. If you want cute, you get Viki, Rita, Noah, Rene, Agnes, Tanya, and the fuzzy Nekobolds. ********, there's MORE if you want to count Rhapsodia. Esmeralda is what's wrong with Esmeralda.

Lazlo's design was basically a duplicate of Orphen's though sweatdrop I haven't seen Rhapsodia's art, so I don't know about that either way, but I don't really look for hotness in Suikoden characters... If I did I'd probably say "Maxine? Really? She's like Ivy with a horrible cold..."
Suikoden had: Tir, Cleo, Gremio, Viktor, Sydonia, Kirkis, Valeria, Sylvina, Flik, Odessa, Jeane, Mina, Sarah, Ronnie Bell, Alen, Grenseal, Rubi, Leknaat, Yuber, Pesmerga, Hix, Tengaar, Kage, Fuma, Ted, Clive, Vincent, and Sonya.
The coloration of Esmerelda may be terrible, but I see nothing wrong with her general design.

Dude, we don't even know what Pesmerga LOOKS like.
You should see Maxine's Rhapsodia art. Much better there. There's also Coop, Roget, Seneca, Peck, Edgar, and I think Walter was pretty good looking.
Suikoden also had Onil, Krin, Giovanni, Cun To, Tai Ho, Barbarossa, and Esmerelda. Coloring aside, I can't stand to look at her face. The shape, the eyes, the nose... gah, everything.

Aww... I liked Tai Ho and Barberosa cry They might not have been the hottest peaches in the tree, but they were cool. And from what I've seen of pezzy he is awesome. We may not have seen his whole face but his outfit rules.

He also doesn't eat or sleep so he probably doesn't have to. Anyway, given the primitive times Suikoden is mimicking I doubt many people bathe regularly in the game. Like a handful of times in their whole life probably xd
