Newt had been quietly mulling over his current position as he servayed the damage, finally wrinkling his flattened nose as the smell began to get to him as well. It wasn't like the organic smell of compost and chemicals he was used to, but that horrible, stomach acidy smell that burned the nostrils. "Wuh-what w-will you g-give me? If I cluh-clean this, I m-muh-muh-mean."

At the sight of the jewerly, Newt looked honestly suprised. He had half expected her to give him nothing more than a kick in the rear, which he would have taken and goneabout the task regardless, but the sudden backbone seemed to have paid off. He quickly glanced over the contents of the case, rummaging through for anything that might- earings? No, she didn't have ears anymore... bracelets got in the way, and rings were impractical for those with webbed fingers- Finally, he found a rather lovely looking necklace, undoubtably a present from one of Maryke's more respectable clients, and worth quite a bit in the real world, judging by the white gold (that Newt had taken as silver) and glittery bits of stone. Natsumi would love it. At the thought of her expression when he woudl hand it over to her, Newt's throat suddenly expanded in a loud KrrKIT! He hopped back away from the ruffed woman, shoving the necklace into his pocket, "Ah- er... Th-thank you!"

It didn't take the frog man very long to mop up, whistling (and occationally croaking) while he worked. Once finished, he hopped back out of the previously soiled room in question, the payment nestled in his breast pocket and a slight, crooked smile on his lips. "Is th-th-there anything else? Or sh-should I juh-just go?"

He glanced nerviously to the side. Was this some sort of trick, now? "I... cuh-could go get one of my truh-traps... b-but ah... it... m-might be quh... quicker if I... ah... w-well... er... I haven't... r-re-really had any luh-lunch today and..." He floundered, what bit of self esteam and courage he had had previously whisked away at the thought of eating in front of her.

Timidly, Newt set about to do just that. A little frog might have been overwealmed by the amount that filled Maryke's rooms, expecially the bathroom, but Newt was not a little frog, and his stomach could hold quite a few gnats and mosquitos... hundreds, really, and still have room for a butterfly or three for dessert. He was lurking behind one of her chairs when he had just about finished, peeking over at her timidly as though waiting for a snide remark at any moment. When they didn't come, he cleared his throat, "I... ah... th-think... I've guh-gotten most of them..."

He nodded, moving to collect his belongings and reattatch them to their holster, "If yuh-yo-you need anything else... ah... yuh-you ah... know who to cuh-call," He gave her a self concious grin befor hopping back towards the doorway, feeling full and excited over his earnings. A regular paycheck might not be usefull on the island, but something like this?
