The Next time Tommy opens up the door to his duplex, he finds a black and dark blue duffle bag out on the front step, just as Victor promised

**New RP**

Tommy unconsciously rocked back and forth on his pullup bar as his mind slowly unjumbled the memories and thoughts of the past few days. Mostly though, he dreamt of flying. That's what he'd been trying to do almost constantly over the past week or so, trying to teach himself how to fly. It showed too by the many aches and pains he had from less than successful landings. He had gotten better though; he was able to sustain a glide for much longer than he had initially. Of course, that's not saying much.

His dreams though were plagued by anything but successful flights. They always started out the same, too. He was back on the C-17...it was going down...he tried to put on a parachute but it just wouldn't clasp right...a leap of faith from the burning aircraft...except his arms, now wings, wouldn't work. He plummeted down toward the awaiting ocean.

RIchard finally done it. It had taken over two weeks but she had final caught two rabbits and kept them alive. Trouble was after accidentally killing a few they were starting to smell... tasty. She had even taken a bite out of one last week before realizing it. Fortunately the taste of dirty fur wasn't that pleasent and the temptation had stopped.

Rationally she knew she should have given up but despite the frustrations and failures she enjoyed the hunt. It had been if not fun, an exhilarating experience. She was almost sad when she had managed to corner two rabbits in their burrow earlier this morning because she no longer had a excuse to hunt.

Still, she was glad she had finally forfilled her portion of the bet and took some pleasure in imagining the batman struggling with her laundry as she stood on his porch. In one hand paw she held a squirming pillowcase, the other three hands hauled a massive bag of laundry.

Smiling to herself she rapped on the door. "Waky Waky Tommy! Special delivery!"

The dream had gotten worse. It was not water he hit as he crashed into the ocean, but some sort of trans-dimensional barrier. Because next thing he knew, he was back in his home in New Orleans pre-Katrina. His entire family was surrounding him...mother, father, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles. They were all staring at him in disgust. Like he was something dirty...something unclean...They began whispering quickly to eachother, too fast for the bat-man to understand. Then his father and brother picked up an axe...soon his entire family was armed with murder in their eyes. They closed in on him...closer, wanting nothing but his blood and death.

The rap on his door was enough to loosen the pin holding his dreams together, sending him spiraling toward consciousness...and also toward the floor. With a high-pitched squeak of fright, he tried to fly out of his roost...only to smash into the floor with a loud *ThumP!* "GODDAMNIT!" scream the batman. "Who the ******** is it!? It's the middle of the goddamn night goddamnit!"

Richard couldn't help but give a bit a giggle at Tommy's out burst. Her tail lashed excitedly. The successful hunt, combined with some good natured tormenting of her friend was elevating her mood to the point she was almost giddy. "It's Richard!" She hollared back at him. And its mid morning not night! Get off your damn tookus and open the door! I've got presents!" She matched the youth's profanity with she own bellowing voice. Still there was mirth in her tone, not anger. Tommy with his ears could probably tell that she was purring through the door.

Tommy's head was spinning, from trying to peice together just where he was to just spending the past four hours upside down...it was no wonder he was groggy. "Wha...?" he said slowly, shaking his head. The purring quickly offset the thought that something wanted to eat him, however...it also let him know just what kind of creature was behind the door. He let out an audible groan, picking himself up on his wings before heading for the door. It took him a moment to open it, like it always did, but eventually he got it. He stared up into Richard's femininely feline, giddy face. She would look down on his sleepy, beady eyed, changed face.

"...mornin'" he said groggily.

Richard looked down at Tommy and blinked. She looked Tommy's very inhuman form over, there was more curiosity on her face than shock or horror. She gave that feline snort through her nose and smirked. "Well Your looking a might bit fuzzy this morning! Brought you something that might perk you up though!" She brought the squirming bag to Tommy's very large nose.

Tommy squinted up at Richard, not really being able to see the Displacer beast very well due to the bright sunlight streaming in and stinging his eyes. It had been a while since last he saw the sun so high in the sky. With a slight chittering sound, he turned and bat-walked back into his duplex, muttering, "C'mon on in 'n close the door." He didn't seem angry any more, just tired.

After he had reached his pullup bar, he reached a massive wing up to it and hooked a clawed thumb around the bar. He so wanted to climb back up there and just rest...but he knew he'd be asleep before Richard was able to say anything else. Instead he just sighed and glanced back to her, "What's goin' on now?"

Richard followed Tommy in, dragging the laundry bag behind her. Then she shut the door. She grinned at the groggy bat. "Surely you remember our little poker game? I've come to both to pay out your winnings," She laid the pillow case on the ground in front of Tommy, the two lumps withing squirming around. "And to collect the other portion." She hefted the laundry bag in front of her. "I need this done in two days or I'm going to run out of underwear."

Tommy shook his head, trying to clear the cobwebs out of it. While doing so, he unvoluntarily let out a chittering sound once more. That had become an annoying habit of his as of late, one that he could no longer help. "What...? Um...yeah, yeah...the poker game. Wait...you actually got the rabbits?" Immediately, he dropped his wing from the pullup bar and was on all fours. He slowly inched toward the squirming bag and put his face right next to it. He wasn't smelling the bag...although the scent of rabbit was all over it...he was sensing the heat coming from them. Their small hearts beating rapidly in fear...blood rushing through veins. He could almost taste them. His lifted his head and fixed his black eyes onto Richard. "You caught them, HAH! You actually caught some!" He grinned, showing off the razors in his mouth. He wasn't really surprised, but just almost giddy with excitement.

Richard couldn't help but beam with pride. "Of course I did, why do you think I've been hanging out in the jungle for the last two weeks? They're alot harder catch alive, just so you know. They're a bit fragile so to speak." She chuckled with amusement at Tommy's sudden change in demeanor, her lashing with feline humor. She pulled up a chair, threaded her tail through the back and sat down, crossing her legs as she did so. She was wearing a red shirt that was far too tight and a pair of off white dress pants. Sabin had sent her a proper supply of pants but her shirt collection was lacking. The days sneaking through the jungle mud was not kind to her new wardrobe.

She watched Tommy, curious to see what he'd do with the rabbits.

Tommy rubbed his face against the bag, just to get the intoxicating feeling of the heat of a beating heart once more. He glared in frustration at the knot at the top of the bag and quickly began trying to untie it with his thumb claws. He paused for a moment as he began to loosen it and looked to Richard. She looked...adapted. And the smell coming off of her told of her prolonged stay in the jungle. His train of thought was derailed with fear that she may one day become like the other ferals on the island. He shook his head once more, getting his thoughts back in order. He wondered if she would care if he ate in front of her...he wondered what the smell of blood would do. "...You uh...you mind if I...?" he asked hesitantly and a little embarrassed.

Richard shrugged. "Go ahead." Her tentacles started to quiver, ready to lash out in case one of them got away.

Tommy glanced nervously from Richard to the squirming bag. This was the first time he hadn't been out of his mind when faced with the chance to kill in order to eat. He sat down in front of the bag, and slowly he finished untying it...leaving only a small opening. With a quick movement, his foot reached in a grabbed the frist rabbit. He transfered it from his foot to the thumb claws of his wings and quickly sunk his razor-like teeth into the rabbit's neck. The creature gave a scream as he began lapping up its blood. He was so focused on the task that he didn't even notice the other rabbit bolt out of the bag.

The blood flowed down his throat, warm...fresh...he was elated.

In its blind panic the rabbit made the error of running straight at Richard. She snorted in amusement before a tentacle club slammed into the poor rabbit's back. There was a crack, a squeek and the rabbit was still. "God dammit, " Richard swore softly as she peeled the ex-rabbit from the floor. She stood and tossed it back in the bag with a mewling sigh.

She gave Tommy a look, "See what I mean? Fragile. Probably want to get that one before the blood clots." Her tone was one that she could be discussing the weather. The small amount of blood that was exposed to the air was barely producing a detectable odor to her. If she focused on it, it might make her feel a little hungry but she was quite used to the scent of dead rabbits now. She resumed her seat and watched Tommy finish eating.
