"Natalie? Dacian?" He knew one, but not the other. "A man and a woman, is it?" while he had a feeling Hadrian had not experimented enough to agree to a threesome, and while part of him felt relief, another part delighted in teasing the mage. "I never knew you were so... exciting." he said, innocent.

There was no way he was going to leave this alone.

"I'll get you something after I serve the omlette." picked it up and sliding it onto a plate, it was hot, and large. One piece to share between two would be good enough, right?

Marc wasn't up to eating... food.

"It'll make you feel better." he smirked. "Although, maybe I should give you more than one, so you can take it home for... later?" hmm. Interesting and interesting.

How much had Hadrian had to drink?

Haki in the meanwhile, delighted at Gavin's words. Okay. He could rule the world too. She'd give him half. (The poor half, but it was still half) "Gavin have pwetty eyes too." she crooned, beaming and nodding her head. At the hands on her shoulders, she nodded.

What this was supposed to achieve she had no idea. But it was nice! And distracting enough to make her happy too.

The look Hadrian shot Marc was his usual almost scandalized expression at those sorts of comments. But at least it was vague enough that the toddlers wouldn't understand it, he hoped. And he had a stronger sense that he should not tell Marc about some of those specifics, last night.

It was embaressing enough just thinking about it...having to talk about it, and then probably teased about it would be even worse.

At that last comment, he opened his mouth to speak - before he noticed the toddlers.

And began chuckling, softly. Subtly, he raised his eyebrows at Marc and then tilted his head towards the two children. They were acting adorably, in his opinion - but who knew how the father would react to his daughter gaining a suitor while so young.

Gavin's smile widened. Of course he knew he had pretty eyes, though it was nice that someone else noticed. People were noticing him alot today. Today was a good day then.

Then the food came. As much as he liked Haki, a roaring noise from his stomach told him he should eat. He looked back at her.

"Where I sit?" It was always good letting her make all his decisions for him.

---

Outside, Remi paced and forth in front of Marc's door. In her normal clothing.

To ring, or not to ring the doorbell. That was definitely the question. Hadrian hadn't been in his apartment, which confirmed her fears that should would, in fact, see Marc today. Maybe she could sneak in, steal Gavin away, and then rush out before anyone could say anything.

Or she could just get it over with and come up with some excuse as to why she wasn't in 'uniform.' Nevertheless, she would just pace for the next ten minutes until she'd pull up the courage to actually knock. So much for her lovely stress-free morning that she'd been having so far.

Handing over child sized forks and spoons, he placed it close enough to Haki that she scooted over, patting the seat she had been sitting in originally. "Here." she said. They could eat on the counter. Sometimes the chairs were too low compared to the food- and she was comfortable already. Handing over a fork and a 'knife', she cut herself a section... using the fork.

Haki didn't understand the need for all this. Usually a spoon did everything a knife and a fork had to do too- AND it carried liquids with it!

Marc noticed the brow raise, and the sweet talking between the children. Murmuring slightly under his breath, he said to Hadrian. "He's lucky that he's too young to understand sex."

Darkly, almost. Possessively. Tempered only by the fact that they weren't really children yet either.

Murmuring back to Marc with a laugh in his voice, Hadrian defended the boy.

"It's innocent. Didn't you ever have a childhood sweetheart?"

From what he knew, most people did. Even he'd had a 'childhood' sweetheart - just one of those cutesy little things, playing house when really small, that sort of thing. A neighbor girl, when they were....oh, somewhere around four or five. Not any later of course - he was taken for training when he was any older.

Though it never would have amounted for anything once they got older anyway, simply due to his lack of interest in women. But when you're that young, orientation wasn't really something that was considered.

Blissfully unaware of the adult conversation, Gavin gleefully scooted where Haki pat, took his own fork, and tried to cut a piece of omelette. He ended up mutilating his section in the process, but hey--scrambled eggs, omelette, who cares! Not that he knew the difference anyways. He took a bite.

"Eggs good too!" It was an epiphany. Thank goodness he had no idea that he'd just eaten one of his bird bretheren. Then again, he ate cooked chicken too so maybe it wasn't that big of a deal.

---

The anxiety was going to kill her if the embarrassment wasn't. Either that or she was going to have a heart attack from pacing too fast.

"Alright," Remi took a deep breath, closing her eyes for the impending doom. "Here goes nothing."

She reached out gingerly and pressed the doorbell, pulling her hand back quickly as if it were going to bite her. Now all she had to do was wait for what lie beyond the doorway.

Marc was about to snap out an answer about it being different, and he did, kind of. "That's me." he said, frowning. "Wait." and with his voice much lower, he added. "What the hell is Gavin going to do to my Haki?" outraged at the thought, he moved over and opened the door.

Said outrage faded as he saw who it was. "Remi sweetheart." he drawled, nervousness at Haki's future forgotten. "Darling, why aren't you wearing your costume?" with a note of friendly disappointment in his voice, he opened to door and motioned her in.

"They've only just begun to eat, so I suppose you can join them. Coffee?" he added, pleasantly.

Well, this was better.

Haki looked up when Remi arrived, and waved, food in her mouth. At Gavin's words, she nodded her head. "Egg good!" she agreed. Especially if it was made like this.

About to inquire what on earth Marc had done with his childhood sweetheart if he was immediately jumping to conclusions about Gavin, Hadrian was luckily interrupted by the doorbell.

Surely Marc hadn't actually done anything with said sweetheart? All Hadrian had ever done was play house, and other things that most adults seemed to view as 'adorable'.

Sipping his coffee, he waved at Remi, "Morning."

Hm, looked like she'd decided to face Marc and join them for breakfest after all.

When the door opened, her mind spazzed. Think fast. Think fast. Think fast. Well, at least he didn't sound upset or anything. Still, the 'sweetheart' thing had to go.

"Like I would wear something like that in front of my son," she rolled her eyes, though she had a smile on her face. Great save, that at least made sense in her world. She didn't care to think about what Marc did in front of his own daughter. "I will take coffee though. Dark."

She stepped inside and waved to Hadrian with a slight look of, Why did you make me do this? Now she was probably going to be teased for however long it took for breakfast was to end, but she'd braced herself for that already.

When Gavin looked to see who'd walked through the door he waved excitedly, forgetting that he had an egg-filled fork in his hand.

"Mommy!" Stray bits of egg went flying.

"Remi." he drawled. "Sweetheart. I'm sure one of the costumes was child friendly." like the maid one. And honestly, Gavin was a boy. Marc didn't think he would have realized yet the power of clothing.

Yet.

His eyes darkened as he thought of Haki wearing something like that. Anything that was cut below her collar bone or above her knees was much too revealing her his little one.

Haki giggled at the egg show, and ducked. "Messy~!" she squealed with laughter.

As Remi entered, Hadrian gestured to the coffee maker. It was one of Marc's usual blends, but he didn't mind; it was good. Far more fancy then his usual coffee, but that just mean it tasted better then the gunk he drank at the labs.

The mage ignored her look, however; she would have had to see Marc eventually. Why not over the safe battleground where there were children, so he couldn't make more specific comments?

At least with those two, he toned it down slightly. The key word being 'slightly'.

At the flying egg, Hadrian grabbed a papertowel and went to picking it up.

"I think that means he's happ to see you."

"Hello sweety. Have fun?" Remi ruffled Gavin's hair before returning to Marc's comment.

"Some of us have different standards as to what constitutes as 'child-friendly,'" Remi smirked, following Hadrian's gesture to the coffee maker to pour herself a mug. "I wouldn't want to wear that in front of Haki either. It might influence her badly."

Seeing the flying egg and Hadrian already going to pick it up as if out of reflex, she sighed and gave him an apologetic look.

"I hope he didn't cause you guys too much trouble."

Gavin stared at his fork, which was now empty of egg. Figuring that he'd already waved, he returned to his eating his eggs rather than flinging them around.

Haki looked up, smiling at the woman. She had no idea what Remi was going ou about- costumes, influence? HEeeh? She didn't really care though, and went back to eating her eggs, picking out the vegetables she didn't like and pushing them towards Gavin.

"S'good for you." she said, nodding her head and trying to make it seem like this was the whole purpose for her picking out the 'good stuff'.

Marc paused. "You're right." he frowned. "Don't wear it in front of Haki. In fact, don't wear anything shorter than your knee, and lower than your collar bone in front of her. She won't grow up wearing immodest clothing."

Hypocritical, perhaps?

Definitly.

Marc decided not to mention that he didn't like the way Gavin was spending time with her though, he knew that would be carrying it too far. And all this? He blamed Hadrian.

Hadrian merely raised his eyebrow at Marc at the comment, and when he spoke, laughter filled his voice.

"Marc, you /gave/ her those outfits."

And had told her to wear them whenever she was going to be around him, actually. So now he was telling her to not wear them? Well, he wasn't going to pass up the chance to tease him. Marc was always teasing him, so now it was his chance.

"And told her to wear them whenever she came around here, if I remember correctly."

He put the egg and paper towel in the trash then, shooting an amused glance at Remi and Marc as he did so.

"Okay!" Gavin took his fork and stabbed a few of the vegetables thrown his way. He picked up an orange looking one. It was the same color as most of him, so it must be good then. Popping it into his mouth, he chewed for a while considering the taste. He made a face, then let the vegetable mush fall from his mouth onto his plate. Disgusting.

"What that?" he pointed, looking at Haki. "Taste funny."

Remi was starting to blush again as the conversation seemed to be completely about her and her costumes. Wanting to stop Hadrian before he gave Marc any ideas, she decided to interject.

"It's alright Hadrian," she took a long sip of coffee, "I strongly prefer the new dress code. Next time I'll show up dressed like a nun, since that's how my life seems to be turning out anyways."
