Lily makes a friend page 3703 Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The crimson furred eldest daughter of Remus Lupin & Nari tried to keep the bristling she was feeling from ruffling her fur too much. The teen's small wings flicked with her disappointment & aggitation. Her father had gently but sternly insisted that she needed to spend some time on her own, with other kitsu that were not family. "I spent many hours on my own as both a kit & teen at headquarters. I trust in you being able to disapparate out if anything dangerous should occur." Remus' words echoed hollowly in her head & Liliana sighed, her white & gold tails swaying in disappointment. The worst thing was... her father's words were logical.
She just did not like having to leave him. BlackPidgeot Edward had stayed close to Setsumi and her eggs, perhaps finding comfort in the presense of someone familiar while Roy healed. Either way... despite being too 'young' and such, the little kit was determined to make sure nothing happened to her eggs. Or atleast... he would be if he wasn't sleeping. The winged kit was unceremoniously flopped atop his red coat. The newly fixed automail limb stretched out infront of him, while his chin rested on the other. He sure slept a lot... but he was still a young and growing kit as Kaoru and Setsumi had pointed out yesterday much to his despair. He too needed some rest though after getting kicked out about scratched up by Envy. The cuts along his face a vivid reminder of that. BlackPidgeot Edward continues to snooze. Zz BlackPidgeot Edward rolls onto his back at the poking and SNORES. silent artist Setsumi- :: confused :: *tickles Ed's nose with a feather* BlackPidgeot Edward wiggles his nose, sneezes... but continues to sleep, while scratching his belly with a paw. Drooling a bit too. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The sound of the movent caused the internally thinking Liliana to jump -especially the sound of moving metal. A sharp "yip!" sounded as she spun around. The only thing she saw was a winged kit with a metal arm. Her expression softened with compassion. Before she knew what she was doing the little daddy's girl had padded over to the kit with a bright red coat. Her head tilted, slightly. "Ah... Hello."
If her fur was not already red her blush would have become apparant. Liliana had never tried to meet anyone without her father around before. Naruto audio visiting their Rikku in their home did not count. BlackPidgeot The sharp yip was enough to wake him... although Edward only stirred a bit at first. But when the teen Kitsu came prancing over to him and said hello, he peeked one groggy golden eye open to look up at her. "Eh?" he asked in his sleepy daze, just before pushing himself up into a sitting position. Shaking his head, Ed's ears flapped about loudly before he yawned. "Uh... hello..." he replied eventually, a bit surprised to see someone younger than an adult, other than himself. Ed lifted a booted hindleg to scratch idly before turning his full attention to her. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Sitting down daintily the teen fluttered her wings & wrapped her tails around her body for the feel of the comfort they gave her. "I am Liliana, Daughter of Remus Lupin & Nari."
She paused thoughtfully. "Do you have a name?" BlackPidgeot Edward looked at her a little oddly at the introduction. What was she some sort of noble that she had to include her parents names? He gave her a friendly smile though, along with a bit of a nervous laugh. "Aheh... well. I'm Edward Elric... son of... Roy Mustang? Sort of." He cringed a little... not really having any true parents in this world, that he knew of anyway. He didn't really consider Kaoru his mother since he barely knew her. "Its nice to meet you." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She had only mentioned her mother because she knew it would please Remus. It was her father after all she was who she wanted to brag about.
Still Liliana giggled at the kit's nervousness. It made her feel a little less bad about being so nervous herself. Her posture relaxed ever so slightly as she smiled at him. "Pleased to meet you, Edward Elric."
She smiled sweetly at the kit. "May I ask why you're here alone?" BlackPidgeot Edward looked around him, and blinked. Huh... he was alone wasn't he? Except for Setsumi's nearby eggs, but I suppose they don't really count. He then looked back to Lili and grinned sheepishly, "Ah... no reason. What about you?" Edward shuffled his automail paw a bit. It was safe to say he was no good with girls... or any others close to his age for that matter. This is the first Kitsu relatively close to his age that he's ever met. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Her green eyes saddened. "eh... I'm supposed to get out meet others on my own." She admitted sheepishly, ducking her head.
Then she caught sight of the eggs. "Oh! Eggs! My aunt Chroma has eggs too!" Studying them slightly Lily looked between them and the kit in front of her. "They're not related to you, are they?"
Her tone was open & kind, and by no means degrading. She hoped this Edward would not be offended. He seemed like a nice enough kit. BlackPidgeot Edward laughed softly, "No no... they're Setsumi's, she's a friend of mine. I'm just... looking after them for awhile." He glanced around again, wondering where Setsumi had gone off to. Oh well. He felt somewhat stupid for sleeping 'on the job' though. Puh! Some egg guard he was turning out to be. "Meet others, eh? Well you met me." That's gotta count for something, right? Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "oh! Setsumi must have been one of the other expecting mother's Aunt Chroma was talking about when she returned. She was quite ecstatic that the "bunny" had visited so many" Liliana giggled at what was a family joke. Everyone had been so sure that the naive Chroma would figure out exactly where kits came from, but despite all evidence to the contrary now her "aunt" was trying to figure out how the bunny had delivered the eggs where he had. Lily shook her head. She may be a teen, but she knew where kits came from.
Already laughing it was easy to smile even as she blinked at Edward's not-really-a-question. "Yes. I guess I have!" This seemed to cheer her -more than the laughing had- and her white & gold tails flicked brightly. The... bunny. Edward just looked at her in bewilderment for several moments before bursting into laughter. He hadn't heard that one before! Despite being young... Ed too, also knew where kits came from. But then, he had his past memories to help him out with that one. He was really starting to like this Liliana. She was certainly nice enough, and funny to boot. "Do you live around here? I haven't seen you before" was his next question after his laughter died down.Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Sharing a laugh really helped to calm Liliana down & she stretched out casually beside the kit, her tails swishing gently across the floor. "I don't live in this building, if that's what you're asking. Though home doesn't seem very far away. It's close enough to walk to & from, without getting too tired, though it's so much easier to aparate." Liliana smiled sheepishly at him. "I know not everyone can aparate though. I know my sister can..." A slight frown creased her brow. "I think Romulus & Vynnessia can as well. And Aunt Ginny & Daddy & lots of their friends..." She paused. "Mother can't. But most who wear robes like Daddy can, and a few others." Her smile was a little crooked. "I've not met many of them though." BlackPidgeot Flopping casually on his stomach again, the kit listened to the rambling words of Liliana, although confusion became apparant on his face. "What do you mean, aparate?" He wasn't really familiar with this word, so she would need to explain it for him. Quietly, Edward judged his size to the femme teen and sulked just a little bit. Oh how he hated being so small! But he's younger... so that's why! Yes. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana grinned at the question, though her right ear twitched curiously at the unexpected sulk the kit went into not long after. Deciding not to comment on it for now, Liliana focused on answering what aparating was. "It's something witches & wizards can learn to do. Daddy says that in his before it was a coming of age thing, but he's been very good to teach Aunt Ginny & I sooner than that." Lily could hardly imagine waiting until her 6th or 7th year to learn how to aparate. Why, she would have been an adult for forever by then!
"Here, let me show you!" Taking her wand the crimson kit sat up confidently & disaparated from beside Edward. She aparated a moment later across the room, where she grinned at him & waved her tails before disaparating again.
She aparated again in her previous spot, grinning like crazy. "That's aparating." BlackPidgeot Edward stared at Liliana dumbfoundedly as she explained what this aparating thing was. He blinked a bit, and looked dubious, sitting up again. "Witches and wizard, huh?" his voice hinting at the fact that he didn't entirely believe her. After all.. Edward was a scientist. He didn't believe in any sort of magic, only alchemy. His skills of which, he was still slowly regaining. However, the kit seemed more and more like his past self with each day. Edward watched with a bit of a critical eye as the teen started to demonstrate. Disappearing here.. reappearing there... Edward blinked a few times, and while ha had to admit, that it was quite the feat.. he was sure there was some way to explain it! "How did you do that?" he asked, his voice still harboring some doubt. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf ((O_O b-WAH! O_o How do they aparate? eep!)) Her grin melted & her ears fell, disappointed she seemed to have failed to impress the kit. "Why, magic of course." Liliana replied, blinking her green eyes dubiously. "Don't tell me you've never seen magic before."
With the Weasley twin talaye being even older than her father, not to mention her father & Ginny, Liliana had never known life without magic. And that was not counting the magic the GaiaCom Witch, Myranda, could do or that of the audios Relm & Rikku. Why, she practically lived in a room that had been magically created by Remus! Magic was simply a part of her life.BlackPidgeot Edward just smiled at Liliana dubiously, feeling a little bad at the fact that he seemed to deflate her with his lack of enthusiasm. "Heh.. I don't believe in magic" Edward stated matter of factly, his tails curling around his side. "Magic is something that happens without real explanation... its not real. Everything can be explained through science." He figured she must be using something akin to alchemy. Something that made her unseeable to the eye for brief moments. Yes... leave it to Ed to push his doubts and cynicism on others. e_e; Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Now it was Liliana's turn to blink at her new friend. "How can you not believe in magic?" Sure, she could not "see" magic as some in her family seemed to be able to but she was turning out to be a promising young witch in her own right. Though she doubted she would ever be as good at hexes as her Aunt Ginny. She was a fairly apt hand at potions however, as her father had fretted more than once how he really should see if there was any way he could find Severus and ask the potions master to tutor her as she was beyond his skill in them. The twins had offered, but Remus had gently told them no.
"Can everything really be explained through science?" Mau With her small daughter perched between her wings, Nari landed gently outside the Kitsu HQ. She paused, just long enough to poke awake the small black teen, resulting in a whining growl. Nari flicked her ears back, shaking her head as she growled softly. Cho may have been small, but she was still a teen - far too old to be carried about. "Come on, now.. you don't want Liliana to think you're still a baby." Cho's ears shot back at her mother's words, and she growled again. Distance had not made her any more fond of her pretentious sister, who acted like she had their father wrapped around her proverbial finger. Stretching slightly, she slid off onto her own feet and padded after her mother into the HQ. Upon entering, Nari glanced about the room. There were only two people she would search for; hopefully Remus was here, somewhere. The HQ seemed fairly empty, however, other than Liliana and a strange new kit. Flashing a warning glance at the daughter trailing her, she made her way to Liliana and gently bumped her chin against the teen's head. "Liliana..."BlackPidgeot Edward rolled his shoulders in a shrug. He didn't expect her to understand his views, but he was very opinionated. "I just don't" his voice still sounding a bit cynical, like the thought of magic was utterly absurd. He proably should be a little more open, but that's just Ed for you. He then laughed, "Well I guess not the meaning of life or anything phylosophical like that... but in general... yeah."
It was then that a couple other Kitsusagi entered the room. Edward staring upward and blinking in a bit of a blank expression. He'd never seen them before, but it looked as if they knew Liliana." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Lily scoffed lightly. "Then science must explain magic, one way or another. Perhaps no one has found a way yet. That doesn't make it any less real."
She was about to continue when she finally followed Edward's gaze to the door. Liliana tried not to show her disappointment, but Oh! It was not fair that she should be in their company without her father around! It was bad enough when she had to share Remus. Not that Liliana did not love her mother & sister, it was just that... yeah.
Sighing, Lily smiled at them "Hello Mother. MauCho. I was just talking with Edward here." Turning to Edward she gave him a very polite smile. "Edward, I did mention my mother Nari, didn't I? And my sister, MauCho." Her ears lay delicately against her head -not flattened, but certainly not happy. BlackPidgeot And the debate would have continued had they not interupted. The kit deciding to drop the matter for now as Liliana introduced him to her family members. He put on a bright, friendly smile as he had before, giving a nod, "Yeah you did." Mention her mother that is. The kit lifted his metallic right foreleg to a brief wave, "Yo." A bit less formal this time around, but what would to expect from a kit anyway? She hadn't said anything about having siblings though, and Ed peered at the sister with a genuine curiousity. Yet another youngster like himself! Mau Nari gave the small male kit a smile, then turned back to her daughter. "I'm glad you're making friends. We'll leave you to your conversation.. " She cast a worried glance at Cho, who seemed.. to be ignoring her sister for the time being. She was, indeed, ignoring her sister. As best as possible anyways. Although there was pleased as could be to see that Remus seemed to be nowhere around. "Can I go find dad? Please?" Cho flashed a grin to her mother, wagging her tails lightly. It was a rare opportunity to spend time alone with her father. Her mother raised one eyebrow, but nodded before going to settle herself on the couch. Shooting a victorious grin at Liliana, she darted for the door. (she can, and will, apparate unless she collides with Remus.. lols) Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf ((booyaka!! *grins, trying to figure out a reason Remy would show up, considering her got Lily out of his fur to have some alone time....* and actually, Lily did mention that she knew her sister could aparate... she just did not call MauCho by name, unlike her other siblings who she neglected to mention were sibs... *grins* yeah. xd )) At her sister's mention of going to find dad Liliana's hackles rose. But Remus had asked her to go out... she could not... she would not dissappoint him. Lily whimpered softly, trying to force herself back around to the conversation. "Thanks mother." Then she had a thought & brightened just a little. "Mother has magic too. Healing magic. It's different from wizard magic."
Bright green eyes flicked to her mother, as if asking for confirmation that this was so.((If MauCho is given permission, we can RP them being in Rem's library at the house. by the time I typed up the RP realized he probably would not leave unless he knew nari & maucho were at the hq, & since he doesn't (and Lily's not about to use a communicator to tell him; & that's if she remembered to wear one) he'll have to stay there.)) BlackPidgeot Apparently there is some sibling rivalry there. Edward watched the reactions between the two sisters with amusement. It made him think about his own brother... of whom Ed didn't know if he would ever see again. He heaved a sigh, and waved his metal paw in dismissal at Liliana as she went on about her magic, "Yeah yeah." The kit not trying to sound offensive, but well.. it could easily be taken the wrong way. Healing magic... he knew of healing with -alchemy- but it wasn't magic at all. It too was just applied science, although some might think it magic. Mau "Yes... there is healing magic.. strong enough to bring people back from the spirit world." Puzzled by the male kit's responses, she looked him over once again. Much like her daughter, Nari had grown up surrounded by magic; it was impossible for her to not believe in it. "He doesn't believe it?' Cho bounded out into the garden surrounding the HQ, half expecting Liliana to burst after her in a race to see who could reach their father first. Realizing her sister wasn't coming, her ears drooped a bit, then perked back up as she thought of where he might be.. It didn't take much for her to figure that out - although she didn't have the obsessive bond of her sister, she still had a strong bond with him. Closing her eyes, she vanished off to be by his side. BlackPidgeot Okay... now they had Edward's attention, for the kit leaped to all fours as she mentioned bringing others back from the 'spirit world'. "Are you saying you can bring the dead back to life?!" His eyes wide in surprise and amazement, his interest definitely being piqued. However, he soon realized how ridiculous he sounded and sat again. "Heh... yeah right..." he said in a heavily bitter tone, "Nobody can bring the dead back." He sounded like one who tried, failed, and lost. And indeed... he had, his automail was proof of that. Still paying for his mistakes. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Well, now no one had told her anything about bringing the dead back to life, but if her mother said so then Liliana believed her. Just because she did not like sharing her father, did not mean Lily did not respect her mother. At least a little. She did manage to smile at being right for an instant, trying not to think of her sister going off to see their father. alone.
Ed's reactions worried her however & her gold tipped ears quirked at the kit. "Why? Why is it important to you?"~~~~~~~~ Remus Lupin, of course, was in his favorite place in the house -the library. Being alone, he was curled up by the fire on the seat of one of the leather wingbacks, pooring over his current book. A standing light beside the chair perfectly illuminated the pages that he scoured. Stretching, Remus found he missed his daughter. He had grown quite accustomed to her mostly silent presence when he read. She needs to meet others. It is not healthy for a young kitsu to always be hanging about with her father. No matter how much I enjoy it. Chillation Wings were something to be adjusted to - and this whelp had decided he had done enough adjusting, so, having memorized where his family usually haunted, Romulus found himself in the library of the house, his soft wolven-yellow eyes drooping from such a long and wonderful day of attempting to float around, his body felt heavy and tired out. Which was such a rare occasion.
Looking over to the chair where his father had taken to, he took a small breath and make alittle quip like sound, almost as if to announce his presence to his sire. Being silenced since birth always made it hard for him to commute with everyone around him - but he made the best of what he had.
Upon finishing his call, he hopped onto the arm rest, and then the back of the chair, flopping on the side and looking down, querying with his eyes about everything. Mau Nari gave him a worried glance. He was odd, this little kit. Padding back over to the two of them, she sat next to Ed and placed one paw on his head gently. "Bringing people back from the spirit world is difficult - and of course they can always refuse.. but it is possible. What happened to you?" With a small poof, Cho apparated into the library. Swinging her head, she zeroed in on her father and then, lowering herself to the ground as best she could, silently stalked over to the back of the chair. As he stretched, she paused for a moment until he was done. As soon as he had finished she launched herself into the chair with him. "Dad!" BlackPidgeot Edward blinked and frowned lightly as Nari placed her paw on his head, looking between the both of them. He looked down at the ground, then shook his head... fighting back the tears that threatened to come. "Nothing" he said suddenly, grabbing his jacket off the floor in his maw and bursting into a run that carried him out of the room. He wouldn't... he couldn't speak of it... not now, not with them. The subject had certainly struck a nerve for poor little Edward. It wasn't possible.. it just wasn't! He didn't know what made these Kitsu think they could bring anyone back from the other side. It just wasn't possible. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf His ear twitched at the aparating of his children but since he felt safe Remus did not seem to feel the need to pry himself from his book to give credibility to his fatherly intuition -that today did not seem to be quite sinking in to his mind.
He did howver flick his ear in recognition of Romulus' 'greeting', smiling as his only son hopped on the chair. Then Remus "humph"ed softly as MauCho pounced him, sinking back into the chair. "Hello, MauCho dear."
Glancing up he spotted his son on the back of the chair. "And Romulus too. what a surprise. Lovingly he nuzzled each in turn, not feeling so very lonely now. "Everything is well, I hope?"~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lily blinked in confusion, hurt, worry & concern in her bright green eyes. "Edward?" She mewed softly, with a tenderness rare for anyone but her father. Starting to walk softly after the kit Liliana paused. Her ears drooped in sadness & her wings were limp against her back. White and gold tails that matched her mother's wings were up off the floor, but only barely just. Had she hurt her only friend? He was her friend... wasn't he? "Was it something I said?" Mau Nari nuzzled her daughter gently, her eyes trailing off in the direction Ed had gone. "No, you didn't do anything wrong. He must have lost someone very close to him, to act that way.. Perhaps later he'll be more willing to talk about it.."Cho nodded eagerly, reaching up one paw to pat Rom on the head in greeting. "Mother is at the HQ with Liliana and.. and.." Her brow furrowed slightly as she tried to remember the other kits name. "Ed." Chillation Rommy:
Were to he have the vocals for it, he would have murred. Instead, he awarded his father with such a look, that the older lad would have realized that his son was rather well, indeed - for there were a few small scratches here and there, but it was of duty and interest, more than hazard and play.
Flashing an awarded smile to his father, he nudged back before the elder's head fell back as he moved his head down to peer at his sister, the yellow eyes regarding her in a friendly, but curious matter. Smiling at the pat, he flickered his tails and wings, almost just happy to hear the conversation being had. His own silence was deafening, at times. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The crimson teen made unhappy chirps, as she gratefully accepted her mother's nuzzle. "You mean like Trel lost her mate?" Liliana churred softly, knowing of her human's loss did not mean she fully understood it. She was still too young. Lily licked at the black pattern under her wing that matched her mother's fan, though the daddy's girl had never noticed such resemblance. Then in a very soft voice little more than a whisper Liliana looked back after where Edward had gone. "He's my only friend... should I go after him?" The whine in her voice one almost to be pitied, if it was not clear that she was equally as worried for her the kit.Yes, he had thought to have time alone -but time with his young was always worth it in Remus' opinion. Besides, his alone time was more for Liliana's good than his own. He smiled gently at Romulus & MauCho, glad that they were indeed doing well. The werewolf kitsu wished he could spend as much time with all his kits as he did with Liliana, but unfortunately that was not always the case.
Hearing his mate's name the wizard's tails began to wag. Tempted as he was to see her, "Ah. So Liliana has made a friend? That is good. And some bonding time with her mother would likely do her some benefit. She spends far too much time cooped up in here with me."
"It is wonderful to see you both aparating so fluently. You do know you are most welcome here any time you like. Except when the moon is full, of course. But then I am sure your sister would be glad of your company then."
Yes, Remus was still turning a blind eye to the sisters' dislike of each other whether intentional or not. continued page 3713Chillation Although he was sometimes akin to his father, the wolven eyed pup snorted softly and quickly gave a roll of his eyes when he heard his father even mention the odds of his sisters being able to co-exist in the same room. But he played it off afterwards - knowing for sure that he would atleast be somewhat amused by the antics that they could unfortunately cook up while they were together.
Flickering his tails, he was content that his father had found his apparation skills to be very well formed. Due to not having any form of vocals - he found it much easier to actually train whatever magic he had grasped; but at the same time, it made it hard for him to ask if he could learn anything more. Besides, he always seemed to itch when he tried slightly stronger magic - and he wasn't sure why.
Upon whence he heard his father mention the full moon, his smile sort of mellowed into a half frown - he didn't like those nights very much, they made him aggitated and tired, not like he wasn't always a bit aggitated, but this was exceptionally hard on those nights. Family time & Aear meets an ill lass Page 3787Rainberries Chroma: IndiAA!!! *looks like she's ready to pounce but for the kit curled onto her back as she enters the room* Doron, Say hi to your daddy!Doron: *blinks an yawns, opening up one eye & smiling. twists ears forward, back, forward, back -then flicks his tails & grins* Rainberries He had to get away. The house was in an uproar with all the new pets that had arrived over the holidays -and from the look of things there were more on the way. And Gwen was getting "touchy" again. Not that he did not love the beach audio, but the girl needed to get out more! Just because he was the only one... well, that was another matter.
AearHwesta needed a change of pace. The weather had gotten so he was not comfortable taking the Hiril Anorfalf out far or for very long. He was itchy. And the best way to scratch that itch? Find a female.
The blue & white angelic grinned at that thought. Yes... A female would suit nicely. ice_demon_20 Azura felt the same way Aear did. She hated the fact that there were more kitsu in the house than she could handle. The newly hatched kitsu were more trouble than they were worth, or so Azura thought. She had just stepped out of the house when she saw an Angelic kitsu. Canting her head to one side she slowly approached him.
"Hello there. Got tired of the crowded house, too?" She canted her head to the other side and stood next to the Angelic, curious of him. She hadn't seen another of his kin before and she was rather interested in learning more about Aear.
saedusk India had barely opened his eyes when he was met with the familiar sound of his mate's call. Blinking a few times, he stared groggily at what he'd been told, his mind seemingly slower to process than usual. Then it hit him. Amber eyes snapped open and he stared at the little kit riding on his mother's back. Being a father still hadn't sunk in, that was for sure. There was a time he wondered if it would ever happen. Well, it had. Yet, he'd found himself slightly relieved with only two eggs. He wasn't sure how well he'd handle fatherhood. Tilting his head at the kit, he found himself childishly lost for words. Rainberries She did not pounce. How could she, without dislodging her tiny & precious "gift" from his perch. Trotting carefully -as if she was playing the "balance" game- Chroma came to her mate's side. Tilting her head down she licked India's muzzle with heartfelt affection. Then she slowly lay down beside him. "He's such a darling!" She exclaimed, giggling as Doron stretched, lost his balance & slid with a startled [Yip!!] between them. Autumn_Fury Ember warily eyed the bundle of teeth and fur that was one of his daughters- Isidora, to be exact. She bumbled before him, curiously looking about her...but a little frown would cross over her face whenever her eyes fell upon him, making him cringe. Whatever had he done to make the small thing dislike him already? It didn't seem fair, not at all...Cheery. Strange. Earflick, tailflick, stop. Sniff, sniff...earperk, look! Other fuzzies. Romp, romp, wobblesqueak. Growl; Strange tried to help. Noisemake, scurry. Fuzzies ahead. Ember again flinched as the girlchild growled at him, just a little growl...but her message was clear. He sighed softly and trotted slowly after her as she headed toward...oh, there were India, and Chroma. And....a kit? Rainberries ((oh no... she's going to learn of angelics from Aear? *pats* poor dear.)) Female. Aear breathed in appretiatively. Yes, definately female. But in such a state! Russet eyes trailed the blue female's body, still likeing what he saw. "Oh Aye, Ye could say that, lovely Lass. Or ye could say I've a wonderlust that needs to be stretched, time to time." He grinned raqishly before making use of his wings to help him bow flamboyantly. "I am AearHwesta, Lass. May I've the honor o' yer name?"ice_demon_20 Azura nodded her head slightly and widened her eyes as he stretched his wings outward as he bowed down to her. She hadn't gotten bowed to before and it shocked her slightly. Keeping a calm expression on her face, she bobbed her head slightly at him and she flicked her limp tails slightly. "Azura. It is nice to meet you...AearHwesta." She had a hard time saying his full name and she frowned slightly, hoping she got the name right.
Rainberries "Ye may call me Aear, lovely Azura, if it's too much o' a mouthful for ye." Reaching his paw to hers he quickly lifted it to his muzzle to place a light kiss upon it. "I'd like ye to be comfortable with me." saedusk India shook his head lightly, unable to hold back a laugh of sorts. Nuzzling the kit between them, he grinned. He was adorable, that was for sure. And his abundance of patterned swirls made the father playfully envious. Swishing away his tails, he revealed the darker egg he'd been hiding. Cracks stretched along it's shell. "You should have a sibling soon, Doron," he said, nuzzling at the kit's head. Sighing in a sort of content, he looked up over his mate to notice a familiar face. Tilting his head, he stared at Ember until he realized another Kitsu was making her way towards them. Shifting his gaze, he eyed the kit curiously. What was this? Rhian and Ember had another clutch? ice_demon_20 Azura blushed lightly when Aear kissed her paw. This kind of flirting she wasn't used to, but it was better than the kind of flirting Mika did to her, when they were alone together. She shuddered slightly at the thought of Mika being her mate and she looked up at the angelic curiously. "Alright, Aear." She canted her head slightly and gazed at his wings. "How do you get wings?" she asked him curiously.
Rainberries That threw him. "How do ye get wings Lass?" Russet eyes blinked in surprise, the ladies' kitsu clearly taken aback. "I don't know if ye can "get" wings... It's something yer born with."
There was such a look of sadness in his eyes, clear down to the slight slump of his body that indicated that if he could, he would find a way to get Azure wings if that was what she wanted & that AearHwesta clearly felt unhappy at the thought he could not. Autumn_Fury Ember chirped a nervous greeting as he and Isidora approached his two friends. India seemed to be staring at him, and he was already nervous because he wanted Isi to like him...Isidora seated herself just far enough away from India and Chroma that they wouldn't be able to touch her, wrinkling her nose a bit as she merely watched them with judging eyes. Fuzzies touch...Ember peered at his daughter, wondering why she'd so suddenly stopped, but hurried over to nuzzle and smile at both of his friends before returning to relatively near Isi. Worried, he mewled softly to her, grimacing as her reply was a snap of her teeth, not even looking at him. Eeuuugh. ._. ice_demon_20 [attack of the short post -dies-] Azura merely canted her head to the other side at his question. "So, you'd have to have a winged father and mother in order to have wings?" she asked him curiously. She hadn't really seen many of his kin around and his wings puzzled her slightly.
Rainberries Doron looked where his father indicated, reaching up a paw from where he lay on his back between his parents to tap gently on the egg. [Me-eerr?] He asked as well as he could, communication not being what it could yet. His mother beamed proudly "Oh! He's asking it to come play!" The kit made a face, crinkling his nose as if to say that was not what he had been asking. Well, not quite. But Chroma missed it her head turning to follow her mate's gaze. She tilted her head & blinked at the familiar kitsu approaching. "Ember? And a kit?" The primary hued kitsu tried to remember if she had known Ember & Rhian were expecting kts again, her tails moving to lightly cover India's & their kit & egg. ~~~~~~~~ The angelic sat on his haunches pondering. "Now there's a question, Azure-lass." His expression turned oddly contemplative. "Nay. Not both. Rem-lad & his mate Nari have two of four kits with wings, though only the mother has wings."
He thought a bit longer. "Aye. Seems ye need at least one winged parent. O' course in the case o' us angelics, both our parents must be so. Can't come into being otherwise." He winked bawdily at her. ice_demon_20 She nodded her head slightly, hoping to memorize what he had just said. "So, your kin is very rare since it takes two of your kin to make kits?" she was trying to understand what he said. Shrugging slightly, she flicked her tails again and gazed up at the sky for a few moments.
saedusk India grinned, returning his friend's nuzzle. And he almost threw out a 'it's been a while,' but something about the other's expression worried him. Tilting his head in thought, he was momentarily distracted by Chroma's movements. He shivered lightly. The all black tail, as usual. Yet, he couldn't help but wonder why she'd hidden away their offspring from a friend. Ah well, maternal instinct? He couldn't understand it. Shaking his head gently, he looked back to Ember. "Something wrong?" He muttered, glancing at the dark kit. She seemed a bit... Was standoff-ish a good way to put it? He'd wanted to see his clothed friend for a while now, but something about this was bothering him, to say the least. Rainberries "Now, I don't know about us being rare, Azura-lass. There's certainly less o' the angelics than yer average kitsu, and that's a truth, but there's more o' us than -say- the fae or seraphim kitsusagi." He watched her, gazing at the sky, watching how the light flickered on her coat. Lass needs to get healthy, that's what she needs. And someone to care for her... AearHwesta inched closer. "Why'd ye ask, Lovely Lass?" ice_demon_20 "I just haven't seen any of your kin before and I was interested." She brushed a paw on the ground and curled her tails around her hindquarters. She wished it was summer so that she could get healthy quicker. It was a bad idea rehoming in the middle of the winter-time when she could get sick at any moment. Her recent cold had been gone for a few days, but she was very slow at regaining her energy she lost during her sick week. "So, there are rarer kitsu than you kin?"
Autumn_Fury Glaring at her father, Isidora stepped purposefully forward, plopping herself before India with a demanding stare. She snapped her teeth once, just in case she didn't have his attention, and patiently looked him and his family over. "It's nothing..." Ember murmured in reply, trailing after Isi. "Yours, India, Chroma?" he asked with a faint smile, guesturing to the kit and egg now hidden by Chroma. "Rhian and I, had.." he paused, flushing a bit, then went on. "Well, we had more kits. F-four, this time...this is one of them. This is Isidora, one of the two girls. I..I apologize, for her staring...she really doesn't know any better, yet."+Sephiros Immortal+ "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!" The plaintive wail announced an immediate and desperate need for attention and affection. Cici came bounding through, entirely kitlike in her romping and nearly tripping over her paws in pursuit of Ember. Where was daddy!?!? Oh! There Daddy! With a sqwauk, she crashed right into Ember's leg and wrapped her tails around it posessively, peeking out between his forepaws and entirely ignoring sibling. "My Daddy. Mine." She stated firmly, blinking owlishly at the others gathered. Rainberries He moved closer, his body language offering to share his warmth. He had more of it -angels being slightly larger than the average kitsu. Plus, with his health he retained more heat than the thin kitsu likely was able. "Aye, lass, there is. Why at home we've a right small teen lad with multiple wings that I love like a son. Little Talagand sings a right pretty song, sure to send the ladies a'swooning when he's his full maturity on him." A grin of almost fatherly pride touched his maw as he spoke of "his" kit -a teen now really- and so it was with almost pure unintention that his tails flicked to graze against Azura."You summoned the bunny again?!? Wonderful!" Doron batted at his mother's tails until he & his sibling were no longer completely hidden by them but peeking out. [Meep!] He chir-ruped happily at the other kit, just before yawning. Chroma flashed a glance at their kit & egg while at the same time managing to beam at Ember. "Yes! We've got our own! Aren't kits wonderful?" She purred lovingly at India, a flicker of passion behind her bright blue eyes. "Ember's always worrying, 'ndia! Don't you know that?" ice_demon_20 azura held back a jump when Aear came closer to her. She was still shy of other kitsu due to her being weaker than the healthier kitsu around her. Despite the pep talks from her sister, Rhian, and Roy, she still felt like she wasn't going to get better any time soon. Sighing, she let her body snuggle into Aear's and she ignored the tail brush from the angelic. "I bet he is a handsome devil," she said in a soft voice, wishing she could somehow get a mate with Aear's kin.
saedusk Half-split attentions were suddenly focused on the dark kit. Narrowing amber eyes, he wondered just what it was she wanted. Not that he minded. After all, she was merely a kit, as Ember had stated. But there was something in her stare that had him musing. She wasn't at all like the little Aria he'd met what seemed like forever ago. For the longest time he watched her, but voices finally snapped him out of it. Shaking his head idly, he turned to his mate, though he still watched his friend's daughter from the corner of his eye. "Yeah, I suppose." And he turned to Ember. It was rather true, after all. He sighed. Autumn_Fury Ember cried out in alarm at the kit who threw herself upon him, until he recognised her as another of his new daughter-kits. "Cici~" he cooed, laughing softly and turning to Chroma again. "I...do I really worry that much?" he asked self-conciously, flicking his ears about, having difficulty trying to carry on conversation with his friends and watching his two younger daughters.Isidora made a soft roaring sound, moving forward to poke sharply at the non-sibling kit and blinking as she waited for its reaction. Small fuzzy. Hollow? +Sephiros Immortal+ Cici purred, all but wrapping her tiny body around Ember's left leg, churring contentedly. "Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiineminemine..." She crooned, rubbing her head up and down against that same limb. Confident, she wasn't afraid of everyone else, she was simply asserting her claim. Rainberries The sailor grinned, curling gently around the sick kitsu. "Aye, that he is. All light shades, ye see. Lavender and yellow..." Softly he ran the underside of his chin over her head and down the length of the back of Azura's neck. "and a lovely blue." He finished with a soft voice, a slight rumble stiring from the back of his throat.Doron blinked in surprise at being poked and slipped backwards against his sibling in the egg. [NO!] The little male exclaimed, thinking Isi was asking if his sibling's egg was empty. The new mother looked at her kit in surprise at his first truly understandable expression, cooing happily. She nearly forgot Ember's question. "oh!" She exclaimed as if surprised, grinning sheepishly at India & Ember. "You sure do! Remember all that worry about having to go 'way from Remy? And weren't you wrong about that? And there were other times, yes I know. But that was big!! Her yellow head shook adamantly, making her eyes look wider as the motion blurred her cheek markings into the bright blue of her eyes. "Worrying's no fun, right 'ndia?" She was thinking of the time she had been worrying, but did not say it. The thought was fleeting -the happy-go-lucky female not likeing to hold onto sadness for long. ice_demon_20 Azura shuddered slightly as he rubbed her neck gently. "Blue, you say? Pretty colors." She half-closed her eyes as she began to purr deep in her throat. She had met a few males of her kin before, but Aear was the first one to catch her interest. She hoped that their friendship could grow into something else, but for now she just wanted to get healthy again.
[-sings the love song off of Lion King 2 off-key-] Rainberries ((*sings along* Cute song! *smacks Aear* You break her heart I am so going to hurt you! Aear: *offended* I don't break hearts, ye know Trelweny-lass.*shakes head* You're impossible, AearHwesta. aawww! *huggles Sae* g'night! *giggles* won't be the first time India's fallen asleep on her. wink )) Oh, it could grow into something else... but possibly not in the way the long suffering female was thinking. At least, Aear was certainly not thinking of the same kind of growing into something else Azura likely was. Not that he suspected her of it. "MMmm..." The angelic nearly purred, letting his breath play across her neck and ear. "Aye. Blue. A shade more like the loveliness of yer own coat than me own. But as I said... he's not blood kin of mine."
There was a slight sigh as he said this. AearHwesta did so adore kits. He knew he would only have one chance at breeding himself though. One chance... then one mate for life. No. That was not for him. How could he give up his lady-loves? ice_demon_20 "At least you still care for him like he is one of your own," she whispered under her breath. She knew her sister would look out for poor Azura, but with her second litter of kits, Azura didn't know if Rhian would have time to take care of her sickly sister. Roy was trying his best to take care of her, but with his recent injuries from a newly arrived kitsu, Azura didn't want to bother with him. Kaida was always out at the Mountain with her mate and Mika...was getting to be a bothersome kitsu. The only one who really cared for her was Ryuuza and he was tending to Roy at the moment.
Azura sighed and closed her eyes. She did want something more than friendship with Aear, but she didn't know if Aear wanted the same thing.
Autumn_Fury Ember blinked at Cici, leaning down to nuzzle her in hopes that she would then let go. "Yes, yes, yes..." he sing-songed, "Your Daddy, yours..." He gently tried to pry his paw away, purring and cooing comfortingly all the while so that she (hopefully) wouldn't get upset.Isidora growled softly at being 'no'-ed at. Snapping her teeth and glaring at him, she promptly went off to find something else- something more interesting to observe. "I...I was indeed wrong about Remus..." Ember admitted to Chroma, flushing a bit at the memory. "Although occasionally I still wonder if it might have been best. Soul brother or not, mine is a...a d-damaging presence, and I surely must trouble Remus with it...." he sighed, trailing off and letting himself focus once more on the kits. Rainberries "Aye. He and Rem's little lass as well. When she can be pried from her dear "Daddy"." Daringly he licked the back of Azura's ear. He would have to be very careful with this one, not to hurt her. But she needed loving. Just because Aear's mind shifted the kind of loving did not mean he was any less sympathetic to her needs. "It be fun to teach the little ones te fly, and since Rem-lad has no wings, his little Lily had to come to Uncle AearHwesta for lessons or find her mother." He chuckled softly into her fur. "I'm still surprised she chose me."' ~~~~~~~~~~ Chroma huffed softly at Ember's self depreciation, eyes watching her kit as he [meep!]ed and stared with bafflement at Ember's growling daughter. Soft, because she noticed that her sleepy mate had once agian fallen asleep. "If that's so, is it good for your kits?" She looked at her brother's SoulBrother pointedly, intelligence flashing in her bright blue eyes as she actually used it for once. "Your presence has never "damaged" Remy! You don't "trouble" him. Why, you being his friend has made him so unbearably happy... Her eyes softened, growing sad. "Don't you see he wouldn't be the happy father he's today without you? He loves you Ember. Your friendship-brothership means so much to him. Of course it was best!"Doran was trying to climb out of the crevase between his parents to get at the kit attatched to the big Kitsu that wasn't his parents. Chroma smiled at the thought. "If you changed that in the past... would the present be so perfect do you think?" ice_demon_20 Azura twitched her ear when Aear licked it, but she didn't protest against it. It was a nice change for one for her. No hustle or bustle of the indoors with the other kitsu around, no crowds wondering why she was in this condition. At least someone cared about her other than the other kitsu her master owned. She nodded her head at his comments and smiled slightly. "I bet flying is fun. No one in my owner's little "family" has wings like you or the two kitsu you mentioned." She gazed up at him curiously. "Maybe its because she thinks her mother will criticize her every move when she does learn to fly?"
Rainberries "Hmm... perhaps." He murmured, thoughts not really on his "niece" at the moment. "I can't see it o' Nari though. Probably 'cause I be around -less time away from her Daddy." AearHwesta purposefully spoke over the portion of her ear he had just licked, letting his breath stir the spot.
"I could take ye flying, if ye wish. I've n'er dropped a passenger yet." ice_demon_20 [Aear is such a tease] Azura glanced back up at him with a curious expression on her face. "Flying, me? It would be wonderful, but..." she let the setence fade away as she began to ponder the question. She often dreamt of what it would be to fly and here was her chance, but at the moment she was a little scared and nervous to try out this new experience. She hesistated slightly before nodding her head. "Alright, I'll try it."
Rainberries ((*giggles* One's only a tease if you don't plan on going through with it. Aear Can & will wink )) A massive grin spread across his features and his russet eyes sparkled. Oh, he was perfectly happy like this... but often if you gave a lass what she wanted it was easier to show a lass what else she wanted that she might not have thought about. "Would ye like te fly now The angelic asked huskily. "I can be taking ye anywhere ye've a mind to go for the most part. If I carry you facing me, yer likely to feel more secure -being able to have her forelegs o'er me shoulders. If ye face out, ye can see more."
He brushed his tails in a relaxing motion against her, waiting for her reply.ice_demon_20 Azura looked at him happily as she listened to his words carefully. True, she would feel more secure with her back facing outward, but she wanted to see the sights from above the ground. "Facing out, please. I trust you with my life." She gazed around the area as she felt his tails brushing against her body. "Maybe around the forest area? I really don't know much of this area since I have been inside most of my life."
[XDD] Rainberries "Yer wish is my command." The sailor whispered almost huskily into her ear, slipping his paws carefully on either side of her beneath her shoulders. When they were around, he crossed his forelegs around her -darawing Azura's body close to his. It might look awkward, but it was really quite secure. AearHwesta carried Chroma like this many times. Azura, being little more than skin and bones was even lighter -and he doubted she would wriggle half as much. Chroma always seemed heavier when she wiggled.
Moving for a better "launch" possition, AearHwesta whispered in her ear once more. "I won't let ye fall Lass."
With that he billowed his wings like a sail, reached for the proper lift, & took off with Azura into the sky. Destination: forest. ice_demon_20 Azura waited until she was in Aear's arms before securely latching her forearms around the Angelic's. She gazed up at him briefly before she tucked her hindlegs against her body. Hearing his whisper, she nodded her head confidently and waited until they took off to look around. From up in the air, it felt like she was a new kitsu. She gazed down at the ground and smiled as she could barely see the tiny creatures that wandered around the Realm HQ. "Whee," she said outloud in a chipper tone of voice.
Rainberries Hearing her joyful sound the blue & white angelic smiled. It was nearly as satisfying to hear as... okay, maybe not quite that satisfying but it was way up there. Aear "hugged" her gently, just before switching currents. There was a good breeze today & he hardly had to work to keep them afrift in the sky. He said nothing, however, focusing on the flight, holding Azura, & keeping her safe. And seeing that she saw everything she wanted to see.
Hm... tha' Nor'easter should get us there. The nautically minded kitsu decided, changing to it with a slightly sharper motion than anything else he had used so far. His hold on the female did not falter though he hoped he had not startled her too badly with his move. ice_demon_20 Azura was still looking down when she felt his forelegs squeeze slightly, in a light hug. She gazed up at him, a smile on her face. "I am glad you are doing this for me. This is raising my fallen spirits a lot," she said in a happy voice. She gazed down at the ground again, not minding Aear when he switched currents.
She was about to lift her forelegs off of Aear's when she felt the sharp turn he made in the air. That made her clutch onto his forelegs a little tighter, but istead of screaming, she let out another 'Whee'. She was having a time of her life flying with Aear.
Rainberries A purr like rumble came from the male. "I'll lift ye up whene'er ye like, Azure-lass." He murmured, loud enough to be heard over the whoosh of air around them. "Whene'er I can find ye."
It was a good wind. Aear angled his wings to make the best of it. Up ahead, the dark expance on the ground signified that they were nearing their destination. ice_demon_20 Azura nodded her head slightly. She knew she would be taking more rides with Aear if she ever got around to seeing him again. She knew she would be sick again sooner or later, but at least she had some fun before she got sick again. Smiling widely, she gazed ahead and saw the vast forest. Nodding her head slightly, she gazed down to look at the scenery.
Rainberries He could only watch Azura's ears and feel her body for reactions to the sight. Dropping out of the current so that they would not be carried beyond the forest too quickly the angelic circled down gently. Above the forest canopy he stopped their decent, flying across it so that their dangling tails just barely brushed the treetops.
In his head, wheels turned for how to best shift this entertainment for his favorite type of pleasure. ice_demon_20 Azura felt her stomach rise into her throat as they began their descent towards the forest. Her reaction was that of joy as their tails barely touched the tree tops. Closing her eyes briefly, she knew that she would be back here again with Aear, but she didn't know when.

Chance Meeting Mountain page 4797Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Remus Lupin & his daughter were out for a walk, the older kitsu's feet taking them to the Mountain. He had not returned since that fateful day they had found those stolen by Shadows... but it was a beautiful place and when their family insisted the pair needed some time in the out-of-doors it really was not surprising that his feet led him here. Liliana walked beside her father for the most part. Occasionally she would flutter her small wings, which would then lift the kitsu teen lightly into the air for a few steps. She could fly -her "uncle Aear" had taught her- but when walking with her father she prefered not to do so fully. Manda Dante was currently in a good mood, grinning as he padded along about the Mountain. Recently, things had been going well ... his son had not only been found but now Raensu had his own mate - and children. It was a little hard to believe that everything had turned out like it had ... but he sure as hell wasn't complaining. And besides, he liked the quiet little kit he'd offered to babysit today - who was currently clutching at his coat with little paws as he rode atop the larger kitsu.Garen stared around at everything, wide-eyed. He hadn't seen this part of the Mountain before and he was a liiiittle scared, but ... he knew his grandfather wouldn't let anything happen to him. So he just held on and watched ... tails waving slightly. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Autumn_Fury (( ::giggles and dumps Isidora on Trel:: Isi: ::snapteeth:: 8O )) (( Doron: *wide eyes* [play?]Chroma: *snatches kit away from snapping teeth of other kit* )) It was Lily who noticed the others nearby, on one of her upward flutters. "Daddy... there are others here." The wizard grinned, pausing to nuzzle his crimson furred little girl. She looked so like her mother's fan... with Nari's wing pattern on her tail. "Not surprising, Liliana. Come. Let us make their acquaintance" Conceding to her father's wishes Lily took to the sky to soar over him as he trotted in the direction she indicated. Seeing the adult/kit pair Remus grinned. "Good day for a stroll, would you not say?"Manda Dante paused, blinking slightly when another kitsu walked up and greeted him. And not only that, another clothed one ... that he didn't know. He'd thought he at least knew most of the others on sight if nothing else. But no harm in meeting new kitsus, none at all. "It is," he replied with a smile. "I'm Dante." Shrugging his shoulders slightly to get the kit's attention, he glanced back. "Say hello, Garen."Garen wiggled and then sat up to stare at the newcomers, ears flicking back and forth. He didn't actually say anything though, just made a quiet sort of chirping noise in greeting. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "I am Remus J. Lupin, though it is easier just to call me Remus. This is my eldest daughter, Liliana." The winged teen fluttered to land beside her father & gave a polite smile. "Pleasure to meet you, Dante & Garen." Her white & gold tails flicked softly behind her. Remus took in the other adult's appearance with a thoughtful gaze. "Excuse me... but I believe I have seen you before. With many other kitsu around." Although loath to bring up that day, a mind that hungered for knowledge pressed on. "I beg your pardon if this is sensitive, but were you among those who searched for the ones taken by Shadow?" The teen gave her father a curious look. The subject was one neither he nor her "Uncle Aear" liked to speak about, and "Aunt Ginny" seemed to understand little more about it than Lily herself. For him to have brought it up... Manda Dante blinked slightly at the first part of Remus' half-question, then his lips thinned a bit at the second part. "Aah ... yea, I think maybe I remember you now." And he did, vaguely. He shook his head slightly, not really wanting to remember that on such a nice day. But he didn't blame Remus for asking. Glancing at Lily, he dropped his voice a bit lower. "One of my daughters ... was one of those taken."Garen watched the adults for a moment, and then with another chirp, hopped down off his grandfather's back and padded over to Lily. He wondered if maybe she knew how to write ... he needed to learn more. And he hadn't seen Soot in a few days. With a little squeaking noise to get her attention, he pawed at the dirt hopefully. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Remus felt like an absolute git for being so insensitive. The his heart ached, imagining what it would have felt like to have one of his 3 daughters taken. "I am sorry." What else could he say? At least they were all alive, but... "I wish there was more we could have done."The crimson female grinned at the kit. He could not be much difference in age than Chroma's Doron, but he seemed to want to write. "Do you like words?" Liliana asked the kit softly, raising a claw to write in the dirt. L I L I A N A The wizard smiled at the red cloaked kitsu. "It is too nice a day to talk of such things. Were you and Garen headed anywhere?"Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Kaitsu-Ralia (( Keiki: *nuzzles the two sons beneath her* My babies are just too cute.(( Chroma: *pounces nearby* Keiki!! It was something that had happened ... but everyone involved was mostly over it by now. Mostly. "Eh, s'ok. Araphel doesn't seem to be all that affected by it. Kohta's worse than she is ..." He smiled slightly at that, finding it just a bit amusing how very much Kohta worried about his now-smaller mate. But it reassured him as well ... he knew Ara would always be safe with him.Garen bounced just a little and chirped excitedly. He eyed the word carefully and then wrote very laboriously below it ... H I. It was really the only word he knew how to write, but he was proud of being able to do it, and looked back up at her with eyes shining."It is ... " he agreed the, glancing over toward the two young ones. "Nowhere in particular really, I just got volunteered for babysitting duty and I didn't wanna sit around inside." He blinked, realizing he'd forgotten to even mention just how Garen was related to him. "Garen is my grandson, his father is Raensu, another of my children." Kaitsu-Ralia (( Keiki: We're mother's together! Our childreen really need to meet. They are cousins after all! Playdate! We must! )) At Dante's comment on his daughter & who Remus suspected was her mate the wizard nodded. It was not until 'grandson' was said that he chuckled softly. "Congratulations. I myself am glad our kits are not quite full grown enough for mates, much less to give Nari & I grandchildren. I am still not quite accustomed to the joy of actually having a family yet." "Oh! Hi! That's very good!" Liliana beamed at the kit. "Do you know your name? Garen, right?" She mouthed the name her eyes rolling back slightly as she tried to figure out the most likely spelling of his name. Then she clawed carefully in the dirt: G A R E N Manda Dante laughed softly at that. "Trust me, enjoy it as long as you can ... they grow up way too fast." He remembered that Rune had been ... even quicker about it than Raensu had, and mentally made a note to go and see how she was doing one of these days. That was the other drawback of children having families of their own ... he didn't get to see them as often. His eyes rounded at that. Oh she did know how to do this! He chirped excitedly and bent down with ears pricked forward to study the word - as if he could maybe hear it talking to him somehow. After a few minutes, he started to laboriously try to copy the letters, biting his lip slightly as he concentrated. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Remus grinned, taking a moment to glance at his juvenille daughter as he sat down. "I plan too. Of course, I see Liliana more than the others." Again that soft chuckle. "Sometimes, it is finding a moment away from her for the others or even my mate that is the most difficult." He said almost in conspiracy with his voice turned low and nearly a whisper. It would not do for Lily to think there were times he did not want her around -even if it was for the rest of the family & even her own good. He need not have worried, for the teen having inherited her father's enjoyment of both learning & teaching was crooning over Garen's attempts. "A little more round on the G, Garen. That N is nearly perfect!" She was smiling, her green eyes bright. "You're really doing well! Have you ever spelled your own name before?"Manda Dante nodded again and smiled in a sort of conspiratory way. Even though none of his children were ... also his twin's, it had still sometimes been hard to find time alone with said twin. But thinking of the chilrens' parents made him wonder idly what Kadaj had been up to lately. It had been quite a while since he'd seen the little bondage king.Garen bounced and looked up again, chirping. He shook his head as a reply to her question - as he could hear just fine ... he just didn't talk. It was unsure at this point whether he could talk, but it seemed more likely a choice rather than a difficulty. Bending over, he tried again, tails flicking back and forth slightly. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The conversation seemed to be in his court again. As much as the once solitary werewolf kitsu had grown accustomed to speaking with others he still felt woefully inept at the art of conversation. "Tell me... what is it like, being a grandfather? Does it really acced the joys of fatherhood as I've heard? Not that I am in a hurry... I am touuched merely curious.""You haven't? Why, you're a natural." Lily her nose to the kit's head. "Let's try your name again, okay?"Manda Dante tilted his head slightly. "Well I'm not sure if I'd say that ... I guess it's a little weird to know your own children have kits of their own. But it's really great too ... " He shook his head slightly, smiling. "I dunno how to explain it exactly."He pushed up slightly against her touch, obviously happy with the praise. Then he swiped a small paw over the letters to erase them and nodded quickly, sitting back to wait for her to write first so he could try copying again. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf He nodded slowly. "I imagine it can be. My sister's mate comes from a very large family, but I was the first among our family to have young of my own." He paused thoughtfully. "Except for our human & her young son Theron. Sometimes I could almost wish our kits grew up as slow as he. Though Trelweny is always saying how fast he grows, it is much slower than a kitsu."Giggling, Liliana complied to the wordless request. "G. A. R. E. N." She spelled aloud carefully as she marked each letter in the smooth dirt.

It's a Rommy! Mountain page 4806Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf ((okies. Sometime after Rem & Lil leave Dante & Garen's company then. wink for my peace of mind. )) Lily had a definate hop to her step, and was fluttering over the ground more often than walking upon it. Her father was lost in his own thoughts, the conversation with the kitsu Dante having turned them to his own kits and he wondered how the others were doing. Chillation As his father had been thinking about the status of his own sake, the little wolven eyed pup had actually been doing some risky things and learning risky ways to start flying. Due to not being able to speak, the whelp's internal voice had agreed with himself that he needed to find a way to excel over the others to .. get attention to himself.
And so, looking down from a not so very tall at all mini-hill, he waited for his opportune moment to leap off and flutter around once again (for he had done this before) and try to take flight.
Instead, he caught the sight of his father. Giving his unique little whistle he normally saved her his father, his wiggled his tails slowly, but happily - even whense he caught view of Liliana. One sister alone was much nicer to handle than multitudes. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Remus' thoughts halted at the familiar whistle & he spun in the direction of the sound, tails wagging with happiness. "Romulus!" The wizard called out happily as he changed direction to meet his son. Landing with a small mew Liliana followed her father quietly. At least it's Rommy... She thought to herself as her white & gold tails flicked happily at the thought that at least it was not her... or any other female family member to share her father with. Plus, being the only other sibling with wings Lily found she liked her quiet brother quite well. "I was hoping to see you again soon, my son." Remus proclaimed, voice full of love & pride. Chillation Upon seeing that his sound had made it to his father, he started his decend from the slightly large cliff side, his eyes pinned on his footfalls as he heard his father's calling out to him, and wondered what he had meant by wanting to see Romulus again (not like he didn't want to, of course.)
Taking a small leap from a little rock that jutted out just before the level ground with his father, he walked quickly and happily over to his sister and father, showering them both with affection and nuzzles before raising both of his eyebrows slightly high, showing that he was curious as to what his father had meant; wondering if there was indeed more to it. Tails wiggling behind him, he was content to see his sibling and father making their round around the mountain. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Both Remus & Lily nuzzled Rommy happily, making sounds almost like purrs in their throats. "Ah. You seem to grow each time I see you, my boy." Remus said, voice thick with emotion. Liliana tugged at her brother's obi teasingly in an almost playful manner. "I've been meaning to progress your skill with spells directly to the non-verbal." He smiled almost sheepishly. That was of course the only way his mute son could cast spells. "I have been rather remiss in this. It will be a bit more difficult for me to teach, but I have faith in your abilities, Romulus.""Yeah. But you won't be able to fine tune where he's off on his tone if you can't hear him." Liliana jibed good naturedly with a smile. Remus shot his eldest daughter a look but let it slide seeing that she was not intending her words to be mean. "And that is why it will be harder for me to teach, Liliana. What about it, my boy? Would you be interested?"Chillation Keeping a unnaturally keen ear towards his father, Romulus snapped at his sister playfully as she tugged at his Obi, his paw reaching up to softly swipe at her, a smile playing very softly on the sides of his muzzle. Hearing his father's sudden conversation change from the size of the much larger elder brother in comparison to his sister, his head turned to regard his father, eyes lit with curiousity.
It was definitally something he wanted to do, the idea of being able to use magic was always a difficult thing for him to do growing up - no voice meant he had a harder time pronouncing with his internal voice. Many thing exploded..
Shaking his head of his rambling voice - he looked up to his father and beamed him a happy and delightful smile, showing that he truely wished to take him up on the offer.
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Lily growled softly at her brother with a grin, taking the swipe from Rommy then batting back at him. At his son's head shake Remus grinned. "Wonderful! Then all that is left is to decide a where & when." The wizard grew thoughtful, a paw raising to touch his muzzle. "It would be easy enough to create a training room... but when? I would not mind lessons everyday..." He glanced his juvenile son up and down, as if trying to see if he was up to it while ignoring Liliana's soft "meep" of protest. "Would that be to much for you, Romulus?"Chillation Ears twitching when he heard the swipe from his sister, he make a growling playful face - something he learnt to mimic from watching all the other kitsusagi, breathe onl escaping his throat - his own way of playfully growling to her.
He knew he could probably take daily lessons from his own father - it would mean he woudl finally have a bit of time to actually bond with his family; something he had been meaning to do since he was a whelp, voiceful or not. He had taken all this into consideration, plus all the ideas he had internally, and the training for flying; but when he peered at his other winged sibling, he had figured they could learn together; and so in the end, he turned back to his father with his vibrant wolven-yellow eyes and smiled again, full of happiness and determination. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Remus fairly glowed, moving to nuzzle his children happily. He did not seem to notice Lily's slight pout at the plans. "Ah, my kits, this will be most exemplary." Pulling back he nudged his daughter with his nose. "Perhaps if we are fortunate Severus will be willing to take you for potions lessons at the same time." That seemed to brighten the crimson female. "But will you & Rommy always have to be at lessons when he visits?" Lily asked, playfully head-butting her brother on the shoulder. Remus laughed. "We shall see. I suspect AearHwesta will shanghai the both of you to go flying once he catches wind of it."Chillation Feeling the push from his sister when she asked the question he almost was waiting for, he turned himself just a little and batted the top of herhead softly and playfully; sticking his tongue out in a sort of nya-nya~ way when he was given his answer happily. The little wolven-eyed son hadn't met much of Severus Snape, and wasn't too shaken by the secondary announcement.
Giving a tilt of his head, his tails softly thumped the ground in a happy rhythm, showing that he was both ultimately curious and very content about the way this night had been - especially at the prospects of how many things he could possibly be taught - even though he was technically handicapped in most. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Lily mered with a slight pout at sharing her father or Aear with her brother & swatted at Romulus perhaps a bit harder than she intended. Her green eyes instantly widened & she went to nuzzle him in apology. Which was good, because Remus was about to chastise her for taking her disappointment out on her brother. "Liliana is quicker at understanding potions than I am. I have decided that the next time I see Severus Snape I would ask him if he would be willing to tutor her." Remus explained to his son. Lily nodded, the gold tips on her otherwise red ears bobbing against her head with the motion. "An Uncle Aear's a good flying teacher. You'll like Uncle Aear!" She paused, thoughtfully. "Just don't pick up any of his "habits", okay Rommy?"

Looking for a friend lost ... & finding a teacher page 3873Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She was walking today. Not aparating. Not flying. In fact her wings were folded tightly against her back. It was not from the cold. Even spending most of her days curled up with her father in front of the fire in the library their home was still kept fairly cool. Cold, most visitors would say.
It was not any of these reasons. And though she had left the house partially because her brother Rommy had shown up for his lessons with Daddy, that was not the only reason. Or even the main one.
No. The crimson furred teen stopped to gnaw at an itch on her side just under the thin black pattern that mimicked her wings before carefully grooming the fur back in place once the itch was gone. She was out here, alone, because she was worried. Liliana was worried for the kit she had met, who had run off hurt & possibly scared. She hoped, maybe, that she could find him.
She had so few friends as it was. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Her mind wandered as she traveled. He father insisted she had surpassed his ability to teach her potions; that book knowledge was not adequate enough for her capabilities. Liliana frowned. She wanted to be able to make the Wolfsbane potion for Remus herself. One could say it drove her. Not that her father had suspected, though their human had. Liliana could see it in her eyes. Her father said Severus Snape would be the best teacher for her in that regard... but would he? And if they could even find him. No one in her family had seen the potions master since the night Ginny had joined them. Liliana thought it odd to try & think of Aunt Ginny not being part of the family for the young kitsu, the red-headed witch had always been there. Aunt Ginny wanted to be an anthro. Maybe they could make something...
Her mind went back to potions. In her mind she thought about the properties of ingredients, the procedures for this or that spell, this or that technique or timing. Potion making was for the most part very precise specific. And that was almost science...
It still bothered her that the kit named Edward did not believe in magic. How can he not believe in magic? There are spells all around! Magical plants! Magical creatures! Can science really explain it all?
Then as if struck by lightning Liliana looked up. What is science? Shadow Myst ((>.> *tosses out Severus* SOCIALIZE! >< )) The perpetually cranky potions master huffed, he was more then content to stay home and hide in his potions closet. But his owner insisted he socialize with his own kind. He growled softly and sulked towards his potions closet in the HQ, crossing the grass quickly.
His little guardian struggled to keep up, running behind, chittering excitedly about anything that moved. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf ((*kicks internet* quit going out on me! razz )) If her head had not so recently snapped up she would have missed him: mostly green fur over mostly green grass. Or perhaps it was the chittering guardian that caught Lily's attention & wrested it away from her thoughts. It did not matter. The green & silver scarf, the potion bottle marking... it fit her father's description of the potions master as well as the teen could figure without being a telepath & seeing it for herself.
Nervously she took a deep breath, trotting after him. Her legs were shorter... Lily broke into a run.
Wouldn't her father be pleased if she managed to set up lessons on her own?
She was nearing. Speak up! Before you're too close & startle him into defense! Didn't you learn anything from Daddy? Her voice wavered a bit behind attempted strength. She had never been so bold... "Severus Snape?"Shadow Myst His ears snapped back, he stopped mid-stride, causing Frank to run right into his back leg. Severus took no notice. He turned his head slightly, so his gold eyes could fall upon Lily. He sneered softly, making no movement to turn to her, wasnt it enough he stopped?
"Yes?...." He asked indifferently. A small part of his brain wondered what reason this little femme had for stopping him. Another part of his brain wished for her sake it was a good one.
Frank, on the other hand was much more...humane. "oooooooh Hello there lil lady! I warn ya, he's a bit of a grouch" the guardian rolled his eyes
Severus shot Frank a look, and the lil guardian gulped, before adding quickly "see!" before scurrying out of jaws reach of Severus. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "I know I'm being bold." However did she keep herself from stumbling over her words? "I am Liliana. My father speaks highly of your skill with potions, Severus Snape."
Her words paused but she did not. Lily breathed heavily in the pauses from the unaccustomed run. She spent too much time in the library or lessons. Flying did not help her body to run. She wanted to flash the little guardian a smile of thanks or some comment that she had been warned, but did not dare. Not with what she needed to ask.
Once she caught her breath.
Shadow Myst Severus turned his head a bit more, taking in more of her appearance. A small smirk pulled at the corner of his maw. He'd heard mention of her before "mm, yes" He turned to regard her a bit more, sitting down on his back haunches. "One of Remus's young." He stated more then asked.
"I assume there is a reason for this?" He was far from in the mood for pleasantries and false caring. Better to get straight to the point. Less hassle that way. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf He sat, so she sat; tails automatically curling around her legs for comfort. She did smile with pride to be recognized as her father's progeny. "Yes."
Liliana plowed forward before her courage completely fled her. "Daddy feels he's taught me all he could of potions, but that book knowledge on them is not enough." She frowned softly, not liking even in repeating her father to say anything that did not raise him up to the level she had him set. "He says that I'm beyond what he can teach... but that he would trust you to be able to."
She kept eye contact though the shifting of her forepaws gave away her nervousness. "Teach me, that is." ((cont: page 3884)) Shadow Myst A light sneer crossed his maw, his gold eyes shifted from her to the distance. Considering he's been making Remus's wolfsbane for the past how many years, he'd better be able to 'trust' him to teach his daughter, the only question that remained was, did he want to teach her.
The tips of his tails curled, and uncurled, as he thought about it. Frank peeked out from behind Severus's tails, and looked from Lily, up to Severus. He was going to say something when the green kitsu shot him another look. "hmmmm....." He turned his attention back to her
"Why do you want to learn?" He wasnt going to teach for the wrong reasons. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The question made Liliana pause. Her mouth pressed shut & her eyes narrowed in thought. Why did she? To be able to make the Wolfsbane Potion for her father, that was obvious. But surely Severus Snape could deduce that reason for himself. Besides... she had never said to herself or anyone else that it was the only reason.
This was a test. The young witch could tell. Father tested her like this sometime, to force her to think of things she might not have wanted to see otherwise. Though she doubted the potion masters reasons were the same, the end result was similar: Liliana was forced to examine the possibility of other reasons. But with much higher stakes. She would not get a nudge to think again. From the look of Severus, whether he would consider teaching her or not hung on her response.
Perhaps to grow skilled & knowledgeable enough to make something better than the Wolfsbane Potion? Perhaps to make Remus proud of her? Silly, that would be... when Lily already knew her father was proud of them. Maybe to secure herself as his favorite? A possibility, but even as the juvenile thought it the idea left a bitter taste in her mouth.
To prove that her father was right about her having greater potential? Pointless. Remus believed it was so, and so Liliana did as well. Certainly not for fame or fortune -Liliana did not seek such things. To compare Science & Magic? Now there was a thought. Not really pertaining to the matter at hand, since she still needed to know what Science was to get very far in that. But what was the reason? Or was there only one reason?
Liliana sighed. "I think... there are many reasons I want to learn more, blended together into one final result." Her head had been tilted as she spoke, not quite looking through the green adult, but certainly she was not seeing him. When she went to continue her bright green eyes met Severus' -scared but determined. "But if I have to narrow it down -I would like to find my limits. It would be a waste otherwise. To have the potential for something more and to not make any attempt to progress would be foolish of me."
If she had fingers, Liliana likely would have crossed them. As it was the tips of her tails quivered nervously. Would it be enough? Had she phrased her thoughts clearly enough to be understood? She hoped so. Shadow Myst Golden eyes studied Liliana intensely, as she searched her mind for the answer to his question. Every subtle movement she made, did not go un-noticed by the potions master. Yes, he knew one of her reasons was to make the potion her father desperately required, that was obvious to even Frank, but Severus wanted to know more. Potions was a powerful subject, if one properly understood it, and themselves. As he studied the young potential pupil, his tails curled, and un-curled, his eyes never once left her.
"You seek out your bounderies, to exceed them, or just meerely to know where they lie?" His posture never moved, never shifted, the only thing that revealed he was not a statue, were his tails. Frank had taken to sitting between them, and off to the side. The little guardian rested on his elbows, his toes tapping as he kept himself amused while his owner grilled the youngin. Frank was used to this routine, Severus had done the same to his own kids. He wouldnt teach them, if they had no desire to learn. Potions were his passion, his life, he would not idly teach others of it.
In Hogwarts things were different, he had to teach the whole class, even though many did not fully grasp the potential potions held, but here. Here he could choose his students. And here, he was very picky about whom he chose. ((cont: page 3887)) Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The teen stared back at the potions master, a thin smile just barely curling the corners of her mouth. This question was much easier. A tiny hope flared that perhaps her last answer had been at least partially satisfactory. Green eyes bore Severus' piercing gaze which seemed to her unflinching. "I must at least have a sense of my limits before I can try to exceed them, mustn't I? Without challenge, nothing is really overcome."
Only then did her stubborn gaze falter, dipping slightly. Not for her own sake, but because then she fully comprehended her father's insistence that Liliana was beyond his own teaching -she had never been challenged or even had to work hard at the potions lessons Remus had set upon her. Not like some of her other subjects. Potions always seemed to come easy to her. Unlike Herbology, where her knowledge of plants' properties far surpassed her being able to use it in practice. Trelweny teased that she had a black thumb. Mentally, Liliana snorted. As if that mattered. Their little Amaryllis could get even the magical plants to grow out of season. Why should Lily dirty her paws gardening? ((cont: page 3897Shadow Myst For the first time since she'd gotten his attention, did he make a movement other then impatient tails. A smirk pulled at the corner of his maw as his gaze continued to bore into her.
"Challenge has little to do with it. Determination, drive, ambition, without those you might as well give up. You have to want it Liliana." His ears flicked, as his gaze narrowed down on her "The reasons for wanting it, are really of little importance. "
Frank stared up at Severus, he was about to ask why he then bothered to ask why she wanted to, when he figured the potions master would just glare at him and not answer anyways. Maybe later the little guardian would pester him, but now, wasssnt the time for that. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Her mouth started to open as if to say something but Liliana shut it quickly with a snap. Her eyes narrowed slightly. She had played right into his paws. Worse -she still did not know his stand on whether he would teach her or not. This was a new game -one the reclusive teen had no knowledge about & could only speculate its rules & moves.
"I do want it." She fairly growled. "I wouldn't have spoke to you if I didn't." Shadow Myst Severus smirked again. The reaction he was hoping for. If you wanted to be one of Severus's students, you had to always be on your paws.
"Many things have led others to seek my tutoring." He said sternly, golden eyes narrowing on Liliana.
He stood, his tails flicking "Are you good?" he asked bluntly. He wasnt going to waste his time on someone who couldnt even make tea. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana was not sure if she liked this smirking kitsu. But she wanted to learn. She wanted to learn from the best. And right now, that was Severus Snape. At least where potions were concerned. She knew little enough of him otherwise, save that he had a large family -both blood-kin & housemates.
Was he looking for a double meaning? Or something else? Maybe his question was actually asking for what he wanted to know this time. Her tails flicked with agitation. "I suppose that depends on what you call "good". I've never incorrectly brewed a potion yet. Those father has let me try."
She would not say what was probably very clear -that Remus would not permit her to attempt potions that he himself was not certain of being able to know she had gone right. Her father did his best. If at times he limited himself with sometimes excessive caution, Lily could not find fault. Not that she ever could. Still it was her father that suggested she learn from the potions master what he could not teach her. Shadow Myst Severus got a glint in his eye, he smirked again, but this smirk was different. It wasnt so...cynical. Liliana reminded him of his daughter, Akasha. She had drive and spunk. If she also had talent, she just might get somewhere in the potions industry.
He nodded, ever so slightly. "Remus has good intentions. But he treads too far on the cautious side. You need only be afraid of potions, if you dont know what your doing, or, " He smirked again "if your up against a master" A light grin. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "I don't intend to use potions for battles." A small pause. "Unless I have to."
Her mind was whirling. Some of the things potions could do... just from what she had read the implications were vast. And that was with her father being "cautious" as Severus had put it.
"It was Daddy's good intentions that suggested I could learn from you."
Then, "I'm not afraid of potions." Surprisingly... she was not. Lily blinked feeling the truth in her words deeper than she had suspected. Shadow Myst The potions master tilted his head to the side slightly, thinking over her words. Interesting choices she had in her vocabulary.
"Remus wants you to reach your potential, to be the best you can. And in order to do so, he wants you to learn from the best" Surprisingly, there was no trace of ego behind those words. Just fact. When it came down to it, Severus was the best there was, and he knew it.
"Do you respect them? Potions can be as innocent as a tea, or as deadly as a slow working poison. They can work miracles, heal wounds, temporarily restore speech. They can also be terrible, deform the body, destroy the mind, or turn you against your loved ones." He wanted to know everything about Liliana's mind and opinions. Know what was left to teach, what she already knew. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The teen's huff was almost a snort. "I would be a fool not to."
The slight shake of her body belied how she was still nervous. How the idea of a potion that could turn her against her family -or worse... her father- actually shook her a little. Something like that her Remus had not mentioned to her. Liliana supressed her next shudder. Shadow Myst Severus narrowed his eyes slightly, but for the first time he bit back a snippy responce when he saw her shudder. So, there was somethings Remus hadnt told her.
"You'd be surprised how many didnt respect that which they did" He said coldly, instead of a remark. It was small progress. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf ((I'll probably be using this. They've had a good compilation of knowledge for everything else, so I'm gonna trust them on potions too.)) Her ears drooped. "Perhaps." For perhaps the first time Liliana was regretting not having gone out more often. There was so much she did not know beyond her family or the doors of their home. "There is much I don't know."Shadow Myst Severus nodded in agreement. "Your young, and you have a bit of Remus blood in you" He said looking at her, she could take that however she chose. His tails flicked again, in a snap movement.
"I can teach you, " He began, golden eyes shifting briefly, before falling back on her. "But there are things you must know" He said, looking down at her sternly "Being my pupil, is not an easy job, and if you cant accept the terms upon which i will teach you, then i can not help you".
Sounded simple enough, but it was Severus, chances are they wernt easy terms. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Though her hackles rose at the comment even as her chest swelled with pride Liliana wished she could determine in what way the potions master meant it. She was unaccustomed to ways like his -her family was usually very straight-forward, open, & honest. With Severus Snape... she could not tell.
But he was the best. She listened intently as he spoke, a small almost triumphant smile touching the corners of her lips. Her heart raced -surprised she had gotten this far after how this meeting began. "And what are the terms?" Shadow Myst The green potions master watched Liliana, his tails swayed more gently. "We work on my time, i'll not accept anything less of 110% from you and your work. If ever i hear the words 'i cant' come from you, lessons are over. This will not be easy, this will not be a walk in the park. If your not up to it, turn around now. " His tails swayed softly, as did his green and yellow scarf. "I will push you hard Liliana, know that now" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The teen nodded. Tough, yes. But reasonable. She never slacked, once she put her mind to it. As for 'can't', Trelweny did no like hearing anyone say that -either to another person or of themselves. '"Can't" hinders potential', Liliana could hear her family's human mother say.
Setting her jaw firmly she looked Severus Snape boldly in the eyes. Her green eyes flashed with challenge. "I can accept those terms."
She paused only a moment, drawing in her breath. "When?" Shadow Myst Severus nodded. He knew she'd accept, she didnt know how not to, she wouldnt come this far just to back down.
"Good." he said flicking his ears, he looked up to the fading light, it wouldnt do well to start tonight, besides, he had to set up some place to teach her. "Tomorrow morning." He said crisply. Then with a light smirk he added "Tonights homework, I want an essay on the Mandrake root. Its cultivation process, its purposes, its description." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "Fine." Her ear twitched at the homework. Automatically her gaze went to the sun. She quickly bit back a wince, her tails going rigid. There would not be much time.
"I should get started then." She stood, stretched -for all the life of her trying to remain calm, sure, strong. Lily was not sure if she was... but she wished to be right at that moment. The teen extended first one wing, then the other; stiff from not moving for so long especially when Liliana was so tense. As if in afterthought she again looked to catch the potion master's eye. "Where shall I meet you, Professor?" Shadow Myst He turned his golden gaze to the nearby pond "You will meet Frank at the Pond, from there he will bring you to me. I suggest bringing supplies, parchment and what books you have on potions. Remus will know what you need." He nodded his head, his tails flicking again. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana ducked her head, in a bow. "I'll be ready."
Wand in paw she straitened. Her green gaze stood out sharply from the red gold of her fur with its black markings. Her tails whipped erratically & defiantly behind her. Her wings flicked softly against her back. Liliana seemed a flurry of motion though her main body did not move. "I'll see you in the morning then. I need to start now if I'm to get everything accomplished to satisfaction and be rested for my first lesson." She lifted her wand to aparate away then paused. The energy around her softened, as did her movements. Green eyes filled with gratitude she smiled. "Thanks."
Then the moment was gone. her eyes hardened resolutely once again as Remus' daughter disaparated neatly away.

First Potions Lesson page 3923Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana had managed to convince the GaiaCon, Myranda, to conjure her a bag much like their human's to carry all the books on potions she and her father had been able to gather together. Mostly Remus, as the mature wizard had insisted on gathering her things together while she worked on her homework. The basic ingredients too went into the bag, as did the small cauldron. That was the great thing about bags of holding -they could hold nearly everything one wanted & everything would be safe inside.
She was a little nervous, in the pre-dawn light as she aparated in front of the HQ to walk to the specified location by the lake. They had not specified a more precise time then "tomorrow morning" and that bothered her. So too did she worry that she had not brought a larger cauldron. Liliana supposed that if she had too she could aparate home to fetch one quickly, but she was not sure how well that would go over. Remus & the twins insisted that the larger one was not suited for learning so much as it was for making batches. Lily hoped her teacher felt the same.
The crimson furred female paused to glance over her homework once more before putting it in the bag with everything else where it hung around her neck. She could find no fault with her work, but she feared Severus would. Lily so wanted to succeed with this, her first assignment. Shadow Myst Severus had moved his potions closet, at least for the time-being. He had comandeered a larger empty room in the HQ, and set it up like a classroom. Just with the one desk for Liliana and the one for him. One wall was covered with all the potions ingrediants they would ever need, and probly alot they wouldnt. Another wall held books, lots and lots of books, covering every aspect of potions and potions making.
Frank waited by the pond, as he was told to. He kicked at a small pebble, grumbling about being the go-to-guardian. "Frank will meet you he says" Kicks at another pebble "Yeah cuz i've got nothing else to do" he grumbled, fighting with a little twig, taking his frustrations out on the stick "I'm a guardian, not a gopher" He muttered, looking around for any sign of the kit. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Hearing a voice by the lake Liliana hurried. Not so much that she would become winded though. Another time she might have laughed at the little familiar. Not this time. "I'm not late, am I?" Her tone filled with the worry she managed to keep out of the words themselves. ((cont: page 3928)) Shadow Myst Frank looked up at Liliana, and tossed the stick aside he was strangling. He shook his head from side to side, his tail swaying softly. "Nope, anytime before 10 is acceptable" he said nodding his head as he began to lead her towards the HQ. He looked up at her again as they walked, looking a bit sceptical "You sure you wanna learn from Sev? Cuz you know, yesterday, he was being nice. If he gets in a bad mood for any reason, he'll take it out on you." The little guardian warned. He figured she had a right to know the grouch she'd just signed on with. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Frank looked up at Liliana, and tossed the stick aside he was strangling. Liliana blinked at the guardian. Her father's guardian never spoke. Rarely it would speak to Remus; Only once in all her life & Lily suspected in her father's as well as surprised as he had been when it spoke. Ginny's guardian only had good things to say about her... even when the fiery red-head flew into a temper. To hear a guardian speak so about his kitsu... she hardly new what to think for a good while.
By the time they reached the door of HQ she was finally able to reply. "I really have no other choice, have I?" She was falling into her father's way of speaking for the comfort it gave her in her nervousness. "Severus Snape is the best when it comes to potions, Daddy says. If I wish to learn -and I do wish to learn- there is no one better to learn from."
Then she shuddered, the enormousity of her situation starting to sink in. "I will simply have to hope that I never give him cause to be in a bad mood. And take what I must if for some reason he is."
Dark wings fluttered as she sighed deeply. Yes, she was scared. But Liliana was determined to learn.Shadow Myst Frank shrugged indifferently. Yes, the little critter was Severus's guardian, but the little guy also liked causing trouble and ruffling feathers. His little hand pushed open the HQ door, altho how he had the strength to do so was unknown to anyone, as he led the way to the back room Severus had transformed into the makeshift classroom.
The professor was seated behind the desk, his tails flicking. He glanced up at Frank and Liliana, as they entered the room. He sneered softly, already looking un-impressed. Frank hopped up on the desk, peering into Severus's cauldron, his ears perked up. Wrinkling his nose he in disgust at the smell "Ick, that smells horrid" He said shuffling away from the smelling substance. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Other than the rooms her father sometimes called for her lessons at home Liliana had never really seen a classroom, except perhaps in movies. But then she was seldom with the rest of the family enough to watch the television in the great room with them.
She did know however that she had homework to turn in. After a glance around the room she pulled her homework from her bag. Trotting to Severus' desk she placed it carefully on the corner before turning silently back to what was clearly her own desk. Once there she circled behind it, setting out her equipment as her father had taught her was common procedure at Hogwarts. As soon as everything was in place she folded her paws demurely in front of her & raised her head to look at her teacher. Shadow Myst Severus raised a brow ever so slightly, watching Liliana go about her routine. "It appears Remus told you about Hogwarts and the routine the students had" He said with a semi-amused smirk.
Frank smirked and sat on his little cushion on the corner of the desk, watching Liliana and Severus, he was greatly amused by this whole thing. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana nodded. "Yes." She answered simply, not certain whether she should elaborate on it or not. After a moment she decided not. If Severus Snape wanted a more detailed account he could ask. Besides, she was not certain what else she should say. It was not as if he had asked her a question any way. The teen fidgeted slightly. Her aunt Ginny had warned her a little of what she could remember of how Professor Snape had run his classes in Hogwarts. Lily intended to do her best to avoid doing or saying anything that would set the potions master off. Especially after even his own guardian had practically warned her.
She did not dare even flick her eyes to said guardian as she waited anxiously for the lesson to actually begin. Shadow Myst Another sneer. He was good at sneering. His tails flicked, he stepped out from behind the desk, to stand infront of it.
"Which book's have you read thus far on the subject?" He asked, once more with gold eyes boring into Liliana's small form. He had to know where she was academic wise.
Frank skittered over to Liliana's homework, and pulled it over to his cushion, and began reading it. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The teen tried not to shake with nervousness as she pulled out the potions books Remus had collected for her. She made two stacks, one higher than the other. Pointing to the higher one she spoke clearly with only a slight waver to her voice. "These I have read."
Then to the other pile she poke her nose. "These... I saw for the first time last night collecting all the books we had on potions."
Liliana looked at Severus once more. "I have yet to make every potion in those books I have read yet, however." Yes, because there were some which her father had been uncomfortable teaching her how to make them though she was certain she could follow the directions. Still, Lily very seldom went around her father's wishes.((Sorry. So not goin gto list off books. wink Just say books in shorter pile are clearly way advanced, but books in first pile go thru 6th year, & maybe touch in 7th.)) Shadow Myst Severus nodded, briefly glancing down at the book titles. He'd expected the ones she'd read. And the ones she hadnt, he didnt think she'd be able to read yet anyways, not with Remus as her previous teacher. There were some aspects of potions that he didnt understand, obviously, thats why Liliana sat infront of him now.
"No doubt Remus was leery about the ones that were beyond him" The potions master mused aloud. Another nod. He walked back to his desk, and shuffled through some parchments. "You have a ways to go, Liliana, before you'll even be ready to go near Wolfsbane." He said in all honesty. He didnt make the potion for Remus because he wanted to, he made it because he was the only one capable of doing it. ((*laughs* I didnt expect a list whee *rummages through her Potions favorites folder, to actually have something potions related in the next post* xD )) Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She knew he was not insulting her father but her natural inclination to defend her father caused her to speak up when she might other wise not have. And she paled slightly at the Wolfsbane comment. So he had known. Not that there was anything wrong with that... it just made her feel slightly vulnerable. As if she was not feeling vulnerable already.
"I know he can make some of the potions he would not let me try, and the twins seem to be able to follow most." It was clear that galled her. She like her father thought the Weasley twin talaye were wasting their talents. As for the Wolfsbane... "I know I've far to go. That's why I'm here, isn't it?"
And after she had spoken, the crimson teen wished she had not. Liliana wrapped her tails tightly about her feet & pressed her wings close to her back. Shadow Myst Golden orbs, narrowed on Liliana's smaller form. Seems he'd found a nerve. So, thats what it took to get the teen to speak up. He ignored the comment about the twins, he cared not for their ability to follow potions, if he did, he would have saught them out to teach them. But he hadnt. In fact, he'd never pursued a student in his life, if they had the nerve, and the drive, they would pursue him. Liliana was here wasnt she?
"You're here," He began, his lips pursed together "because Remus taught you all he knows, or was comfortable teaching" He said acidicly. He had not taken her on as a student to discuss her father's lack of extended knowledge of potions. He flicked his tails and went back behind his desk, shuffling through parchments, "Mandrake Draught is used for what condition?" He asked, turning on her suddenly as he liked to do Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana bit her tongue at the quick retort. She knew she should not have spoken up. The slight taste of blood filled her mouth where a canine had pierced her tongue. Well, it was not less than she deserved. Severus was right after all.
She jumped a little at the sudden question. "Petrification." Was her quick reply, without even a pause to think. Shadow Myst Severus nodded curtly. He'd expected she'd know the answer. "Draught of living death, consists of what ingrediants?" he asked, without pause from the last question. This one, most first years knew the answer to, for someone on a 6th level, it should come easy as well. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana tried not to glare, though her green eyes flashed defiantly. "Asphodel in an infusion of wormwood, valerian roots, juice of sopophorous bean." Shadow Myst Severus nodded again. She'd be sore pressed to try and get anything other then a nod out of him. "Good, make it" He said turning his attention back to the parchments on the desk.
Frank skittered over to Liliana's desk, and sat on the edge, watching her. Shadow Myst Severus shuffled through a huge stack of parchments, containing lesson plans, potions recipies, ingrediant lists, inventory, and various other things. Despite the troubles between him and Frank, the potions master trusted Frank to watch over Liliana while he made a trip to his personal potions closet, not bothering to excuse himself. He was the teacher, not the student. He padded silently down the hall, towards his closet, his mind going over everything. He'd heard of Liliana's talent, but he put no weight in what others said. He'd find out for himself. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana pursed her mouth and pulled out Advanced Potion-Making and opened it to page 10 after checking the spell's location in the contents. She added weights to her scales, before starting to cut up the valerian roots. She nodded casually as the blue steam rose. Lily fumbled with trying to cut the sopophorous bean as the book instructed & frowned visibly at the poor showing of juice that made. Sighing, she put it in, starting to stir counterclockwise. Again she frowned. It seemed to take forever for her purple potion to lighten considerably. Still stirring she checked the book. Why of all things did it not say how long this was supposed to take? It was only now starting to get lilac in color. ((*grumbles at lexicon telling better the right way to do it; had to grab book* wink )) Shadow Myst Severus checked a few things in his closet, then padded back to the classroom. He paused as he passed Liliana's desk, glancing into her cauldron, he made no outword motion of approval, or disapproval before heading back behind his desk. In typical Severus fashion, she would have to alert him when she'd finished. Not because he wouldnt already know, but because it was something he got enjoyment from. Some of his previous students were too terrified to break the silence to get his attention. He was constantly testing students. Liliana would be treated no differently. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf for Sev She was getting tired from stirring. Halfway point indeed! The teen continued to frown as her potion finally started to fade beyond the lilac color. Even later, it went to clear. Liliana sat down with an audible sigh of relief, though her expression remained dissatisfied. "It's finished."
Her proclamation seemed to echo in the room. Even Liliana could hear the disappointment in her voice at her success. Something had not gone right. But I followed the book exactly! It should have gone perfect! Lily tried to reign her feelings in. Shadow Myst Severus looked up from his parchments, and padded around his desk over to hers. Frank wiggled on the corner of liliana's desk, Severus could be cruel at times, he just hoped now, want one of those times.
Peering over the cauldron, Severus pursed his lips, frowning. "Are you certain of that?" He asked with a quirked brow. It looked off. He looked down at Frank "Try some, if you fall asleep, she passes"
Frank gawked up at Severus ".....i....it....she...no!" he squeaked out, crossing his little arms over his chest, trying to figure out if Severus was attempting humour or not....with him, you could never tell. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana jumped at Severus' suggestion & looked at the guardian in apology. Then she snapped her gaze back at the potions master's back. "I am. Even if it did take more than halfway for it to get from the supposed halfway point to the clear stage." She muttered her complaints to herself -and Frank- still not comprehending why the potion had not gone as smoothly as it should have. Shadow Myst Severus quirked a brow again, so there were troubles with the process. She still had a ways to go yet then. "lets try something else" he said, switching strategies "Work on preperations for tomorrows class. Cutting, measuring, weighing, catagorizing..." He said as he returned behind his desk, glancing over at her with his normal intense gaze "Potions making will only run smoothly, when the process is flawless. Everything must be exact, followed to a 't' " He said firmly, nodding in the direction of her potion "Something didnt go right in the process" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She flinched, biting back a growl as anger flared in her green eyes. "I know!" It was not a wail, Lily was too angry for it to be a wail. "I did follow the book "to a T"." She paused to glare at the instructions. "Something's not right. I don't know what but it's not right!!"
Her eyes went wide with shock as she realized what she had said. Aloud. Liliana lowered her gaze. "Sorry Professor. Cutting, measuring, weighing, catagorizing..." She repeated dully. "Yes, sir." Shadow Myst Severus glared back at Liliana "If you did it right, it would have turned out perfectly" He stated "Even the most miniscule thing can ruin a potion" He said with a flick of his tails.
He pursed his lips, his eyes narrowing again "When your done with everything, you may go for the day. Homework is two pages on proper preporations for a successful potion" He said without looking up from his desk, his tails flicking behind him. He felt the slightest tinge of remorse, but she had snapped out at her teacher. Her teacher that she had sought out. She's lucky though, normally it would have been 4 pages. she'd gotten off easy. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana hung her head. She felt lucky he had not dismissed her right there. Never... never had she spoken like that to anyone. But then, never had a potion not worked perfectly for her before.
With a sigh she bottled the potion, storing it away in her bag. Perhaps she could study it... see where she had gone wrong. Silently she cleaned & collected her equipment, then her books. Writing down her assignment at the top of a clean parchment Liliana put those away too. She tried to remain cool & collected, but it was with a sad step she left her desk when all was as she had found it that morning.
Liliana paused at the door, turning her head ever so slightly to her teacher. "I'm sorry, sir." The teen sighed, being unfamiliar with apologizing for the most part. Of course she had never been so rude either. "Same time tomorrow?"

Ginny & Ronan page 3924silent artist I don't know, surprise me. I'll be using Ronan Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf ((*grins* I'll bring Ginny... she always could use more RP. Though don't be surprised if Aear shows up in big brother mode xp )) The red headed witch hardly knew what to think anymore. In a way... she was bored. Valentine's Day was coming up and... Ginny sighed, heading for the HQ's kitchen. She just needed to get out of the house.
One thing was certain: she would not be writing any poetry this year. She had learned that lesson her first year at Hogwarts. Perhaps she should "see" someone else? She snorted softly. What good would that do? He was never around to see anyway. Why pretend if it would not reach her ends?silent artist Ronan laid coiled in his little sun spot, absorbing the warmth in his fur. Oh how he loved sunbathing! Stretching his front paws, he stiffled a yawn while keeping his eyes closed. Once stretched, he rolled onto his side just enjoying all his free time. Not a care in the world. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The movement as the brightly colored kitsu stretched caught her eye & the female stopped, robes swishing around her legs as she did so. The colors were so bright ...and she really had nothing better to do. Make more food in hopes that Harry gets some of it? I wish I knew where we stood! If there is any we at all. With another sigh she switched directions & walked over to the male.
At any rate... this kitsu can't be any worse than Gaara... "Hello." She called softly, so that if he was asleep she might not wake him. silent artist Ronan remained unmoving, the only sign he was alive was his steady breathing. After a few moments, he peered open one -white- eye to the new kitsu. She was clothed in robes and a scar, perhaps another magic wielder. He closed his eye with a sleepy but content sigh. "Hey." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "I'm not infringing, am I?" Quietly Ginny moved closer, stopping just outside the sunbeam & sitting down. Her red hair fell about her face like a mane. "I ... would like the company.
She paused, not quite sure what to say or do. "I'm Ginny. Ginny Weasley." silent artist He gave a soft grin. "You're of no bother at all. Make yourself comfortable." Ronan made no attempts to sit up, as he was already well-settled. He twitched an ear to her and opened his eyes, "Name's Ronan. Pleased to meet you." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf A smile touched her face, making her beautiful in its radiance. "It's a pleasure to meet you too, Ronan. And thank you."
Okay. Easy part done. Now what? "Have you been around here long?" silent artist Ronan rolled onto his stomach before answering. "Not long, but quite awhile. I came here to meet an old friend who had kits. Now that that's done, I'll probably head out again soon." He turned his gaze to the redhead. "You?" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She had not been asking for today, but now that he had answered so Ginny relaxed. This topic was much easier and she really just wanted something to keep her busy & occupied & not thinking about him.
"Just aparated in. No real reason I suppose." She shrugged her shoulders and gave another smile. "I didn't feel like hanging around at home I guess. Wanted to get out & do something."
Thinking a moment, Ginny adds. "My sister of sorts just had kits. As did one of my sisters from my other family. She met a whole host of other mothers here one day. Chroma, that is. Not Charna. May I ask who your friend is?" silent artist Aparating; he had heard of that before and found it rather odd. If not disturbing. Perking his ear, Ronan could 'see' the apprehension in the other kitsu. Something was on her mind that she was trying to ignore. He lended a paw by answering her question. "Her name is Setsumi. She had teo kits herself, and I believe she mentioned seeing a Chroma." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf If her family had know, she would have instantly recognized the name as being the mate of Remus' best friend's son. As it was, no one had mentioned Elian & Setsumi's names together. At least not to Ginny. Chroma certainly had not known it. "Setsumi? That's a pretty name." She smiled, then laughed a little. "I wish I could say I recognize it, but if you knew Chroma you'd understand that sometimes it's hard to keep up with what she's trying to tell you."
She also would have no idea that Liliana might be able to recognize the kits from the eggs the teen had seen when Edward was guarding them. Of course Remus' eldest daughter was more likely to confide in her father than her "aunt Ginny". She had broached the subject of being worried about the metal armed kit, to which Ginny had suggested her "niece" try to find him. But with Lily's potions lesson's beginning The red-head witch had not the time to find out if she had been successful.
Lying down Ginny carefully lay her head on her paws. There were some advantages to being four legged. One was being able to lay down like this, no worries. "Is all everyone thinks of family?" She was really echoing her thoughts, not seeming to notice she had spoken them aloud. silent artist Ronan raised a brow to Ginny. "Family? No, that's not on everyone's mind. Setsumi and I never once thought of family before we came to the realm. Then she meet Elian, and things changed." He swayed his tails about as he spoke of memories. He and Setsumi were the best of traveling partners, but now she seemed settled in the realm. Ronan had no desire to remain in one place, though he couldn't leave just yet. He was scouting about for a rogue kitsu she had warned him about, though he hadn't spotted it. Ronan peered at Ginny, "You haven't seen a green haired kitsu lately, have you?" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Must be just me... Ginny thought woefully, keeping the notion to herself. "Green haired kitsu? No. Can't say I have. Would you like me to keep an eye out? I pop in here often enough."
Brown eyes blinked as the rest of what Ronan had said started to sink in. One could almost see the gears in her head turning. "Elian? You did say Elian, right?" Her mouth pursed thoughtfully. "I could swear that's the name of Remus' friend Ember's boy. But I know Ember & Rhian just had kits again themselves so that doesn't quite make sense..."
Her words trailed off as she slipped into thought though her eyes remained on the brightly colored male as if hoping he would have the missing pieces to this interesting puzzle. silent artist Ronan shook his head. "If you do happen to spot the kitsu, just stay away from him if possible. He's said to be bloodthirsty, moreso than a nitemare kitsu." He twitched his ear as Ginny described Elian's family. "Well, Elian is a red and white kitsu with red arm warmers. And Setsumi has told me of his, erm, bossy sister Aria." Ronan held back a chuckle remembering how Aria could rattle Setsumi up. Then they'd just glare each other down. It was quite comical, poor Elian! Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf ((eep! Can't recall if Ginny met Em's offspring or not! Gonna say she either hasn't or forgot for now. wink )) Ginny snorted at being told to stay away from the green haired kitsu. "Sure. Maybe I'll hex him first." A little grin curled her maw at the thought of shooting off a bat-bogey hex to someone fitting that description at the first sign of them being 'bloodthirsty'.
"Elian & Aria? There's no way there's two pairs of siblings with the same names! They've got to be Ember's kits!" A warm smile brightened her face at the thought. "Wow. That's got to be interesting to Ember; being a second time dad and a grandpa all at once." Brown eyes flashed with excitement. I wonder if Remus knows yet..."
Then she grinned at the brightly colored male. "Wow. Small world, isn't it?"silent artist Ronan rolled his eyes with a smirk. "Oh yeah, I forgot you were gifted with magic. Even so, just be careful." He finally stood on his blue legs, stretching his body from head to tail. And topped it off with a yawn. "So, it seemes this world is small. Though I've never met Ember." He heaved a sigh, trying to figure out what to do today. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She watched him curiously, wondering how much the male knew of witches and wizards before deciding that she really did not care right that moment. Ginny nodded. "I'll be careful. If nothing else, when this kitsu is flipping out from having bat wings pop out all over his or her face it'll give me time to aparate out of there."
Ginny paused, tossing her red hair back over her shoulders. "What'd this green haired kitsu do for you to be warning me so much of him?"
Maybe once her curiosity was abated she would offer to cook Ronan something to eat. That would give her something to do. ((cont: page 3943)) silent artist Ronan perked his ears, "Setsumi and a runt kit have been attacked by him before. Seems he has a grudge he wants to destroy." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Red striped pink ears folded against her head, flattening her hair down there. Ginny growled softly. "He attacked a kit & a mother?!?" Anger flashes dangerously in her brown eyes. "Oh, I'll watch for him all right. And I will definitely be hexing the lout before making good my escape."
Banded tails flicked angrily behind her. "I'll inform my family too. Just watch if I don't!" silent artist White eyes widened at Ginny's aggression. "Well, Setsumi wasn't a mother then, thankfully. And the runt seems intelligent in science, so that helped them out alot." He flicked his feathered tails, nodding to Ginny. "It would be wise to warn your family, definately." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She tried to calm down. Really she did. It was just very hard to do so once riled. "Whatever kind of thing could a kit have done to this green haired kitsu for him to attack, much less hold a grudge!"
She asked the question aloud more to ask it than expecting Ronan to be able to provide her with an answer. The way her eyes darted off & the annoyed flick of her tails might make it clear that she expected it to be a rhetorical question. Not that she was a good one to talk about grudges -the fiery tempered redhead could hold a grudge with the best of them. silent artist Ronan quietly scooted further from the raging kitsu. He himself never really experienced rage, and to see so much glowing off Ginny was quite scary. "I don't know myself. All I know is that the rogue kitsu attacked them. I believe there was anothre kitsu there helping, but even three against one wasn't strong enough." He twitched his nose as a snowflake fell on the tip of his nose. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Ginny fumed silently, a frown on her otherwise pretty face. "I'll tell my family." She repeated in a low voice at length. "If nothing else with all of us we might be able to find more out about him -better prepare us, better prepare that kit, better prepare Setsumi." There was an almost dead sound to her voice, fueled by barely bridled anger as it was.
Of course, flying off the handle as she was apt to do Ginny hardly noticed that the male had widened the space between them. By the time she saw that they were further apart than they had been she figured she had been the one to move. silent artist Shaking the flake of his nose, Ronan tumbled into the snow on his back. He gave Ginny a raised brow, "I believe that is the only reason I'm in the realm, to assist Setsumi." He rolled onto his side. "After that, I'm heading out again. What about you?" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "I...." Ginny paused, her flare of anger dying down for the time being -swept away by her confusion. She sighed as her body slumped softly. "I probably came to cook something in the kitchen. Just for something to do." To keep my mind off things. "I do that often. Gets me out of the house, you know." Tilting her head Ginny raised one ear questioningly. "You hungry?"
It was always much more fun to cook for someone else. Who knew when or even if Harry would get any of it. silent artist Ears twitching, a lopsided grin fell on Ronan's face. "Did you say cooking? That sounds good! What do you specialize in?" He flicked his tails eagerly. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She grinned, the action taking the last of her anger away. "Mostly English, but lately I've been picking up a lot of Eastern European cooking as well. Trelweny likes it especially, her family being German. I leave the Asian dishes to Remus' mate." silent artist "English and European, eh? I've never tried it before." His ears lowered at her mention of not doing Asian meals. Those were his favorite, besides tuna and spagetti. Ronan's smile widened at the thought, "Mmmm, spagetti." He shook his head, blushing at his own mumblings. "Wait, why did you have to come to the HQ just to cook?" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She grinned. "Spaghetti, I can do." She stood, stretching lightly as his question reached her & she paused. "I don't have to. There's a perfectly functional kitchen at home. It's just... well. Sometimes I have to get out." silent artist Ronan raised a brow. If her body language wasn't so obvious, he would have dismissed it. Even so... "You know, there is no point trying to lie to me. Like your magic, my eyes have their own special ability. So, what's the point of avoiding this fellow?" He plopped on his haunches, awaiting a reply. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Ginny froze. How could he see that? Her shoulders slumped, causing her face to become half hidden in her red hair. "I'm not avoiding him." Then she sighed, starting to walk to the HQ's kitchen. "Maybe I'm afraid he's been avoiding me..."
Now why the bloody hell had she said that? silent artist ((oh yeah, Ronan doesn't beat around the bush in life)) X3 'Great one Ronan!' He rushed up and padded by Ginny's side. "Erm, sorry. I'll just drop it." Surely it wasn't anythiing serious. Perhaps it was the normal quarrels expected with puppy love? "Sooo, how about that cooking? What are you in the mood to cook?"Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "oh, Anything you like. If I don't know it, I'm pretty good at figuring out the muggle cookbooks by now." She wanted to drop the subject, but found she could not. "Look. I don't even know if I'm anything more than his best friend's baby sister. I'm probably just being silly." silent artist Ronan stopped in his steps, shaking the snow of his fur. He turned his gaze back to Ginny, " Anything more? Well have you bothered asking? Don't do no good sitting back and waiting, ne?" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Ginny blushed hotly, remembering that poem first year. "No.. I've not. I don't want to make things uncomfortable between us." at least not any more than they already can be But she kept that thought to herself, shaking out fur & robes from the snow trying to cling there. "I'd just like to be able to spend time with him a bit more."
"So what do you feel like eating?" silent artist Ronan tilted his head as he thought about it. "Well, you claim you do magic, so how about a challenge? Can you create...shrimp scampy?" He was so craving sea food! Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Ginny grinned. "Create? Not quite. But I can cook it!" Hopping lightly into the HQ she hurried to the kitchen. "Hopefully they've got everything in stock I'd need. There's usually some frozen shrimp in the frozen part of the refrigerator." silent artist Ronan hopped to his feet. "Sounds great, would you need extra paws for assistance?" He trotted along inside the kitchen, exploring it for the first time. "Hey, where'd you learn to cook in the first place? Family?" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "Hmm? oh. Yeah. I used to cook with my mum before at the Burrows. When I found myself with two homes it just seemed a good idea to start doing. Gave me something to do. I guess. A comfort zone you could say." Ginny did not look at the bright male, her head in the fridge, pulling out ingredients & getting them to the counter. For the moment she was not using her magic to do it. Once she actually started cooking however...
"So do you have anything like that? A comfort drill or a hobby?" silent artist "Well, that does seem handy, especially between two homes. But I'm comfortable eating the food, not cooking it." He gave a grin. While traveling about, he had gotten used to eating meat and fruits right from the source. No fancy preperation needed. "A comfort drill? I'd say it is sunbathing. I love just absorbing the warmth. It may sound crazy, but I used to love fighting other kitsus. Not really fighting, but battling out in a challenge. But that was long ago." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "Sunbathing?" Ginny grinned. "Now that sounds relaxing." Now that all the ingredients were assembled the witch got out her wand and started casting the different spells that she used to prepare & cook meals. Some were ones that she had learned from her mother growing up in the Burrows, others she had found or modified herself since being a kitsusagi.
"A challenge? You mean like a duel?" silent artist Ronan watched as Ginny cast her magic. Some were elaborate, creating wierd noises and poofs of color. Others simply completed a requirement to the fine art of cooking. "Well, you could call them duels, but not all of them were friendly. I mostly interacted in violent battles, but when my eyes were scared, I stopped. I enjoy a friendly duel though every now and then!" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Keeping watch of only a few of the spells Ginny let the rest perform their functions smoothly. She did not often make shrimp scampi at home -only when Trelweny's mother stopped by, and even then only sometimes. "Your eyes are scarred?" A soft look of compassion softened her brown eyes. Of course that would explain their all white appearance. "I'm sorry. Did it hurt terribly?" silent artist He gave a small smile, "Don't be sorry. They hurt for awhile, and that is why I stopped fighting. Setsumi helped me along as they healed. And that's how I can see unseen lies. Don't ask me how, cause even I don't know the details." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She chuckled wryly, shaking her head in an almost sad manner as if inwardly amused & thoughtful all at the same time. "Unseen lies? Like what you saw in me earlier?"
Preparation work had slowed to a halt as the food settled into cooking stages. Ginny put her wand back in her robes for now -she would only need it occasionally for flipping or stirring now -for of course she could not just make the scampi. Her mum & Trelweny both insisted on some balance to the meal, and it was hard to fight. So there were vegetables to go with it as well. silent artist Tilting his head, Ronan just gave a simple nod. His eyes watched as the spells seemed to slow down. Now it looked like average cooking with no magic to enhance it. He moved to sit next to the oven, enjoying the heat radiating from it. "What do you plan to do for the rest of today?" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "I hadn't really thought about it." The witch said with a shrug. "Usually I come in, cook for a few hours or so, stock the fridge with leftovers in case..." Ginny gave a sharp laugh. Ronan could probably read her enough that she did not need to say it, thankfully. "Well anyone can eat them of course. Then after cleaning up the kitchen I go home." Another shrug of her shoulders was followed by tossing her hag hair over her shoulder. "Unless I find someone to talk with. At least that's what I tend to do when I come here" silent artist Ronan's jaw dropped, "Cook for a few hours?!" He had not expected that. Sure he could see the unseen, but only if it was lied to him. And Ginny's words were no lies, which scared him more. "I would go crazy, especially cleaning up afterwards!" He shook his head in disbelief, before remembering she had magic. "Oh, yeah." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Ginny laughed freely. "I used to hate having to cook & clean, back home in the Burrows. It's a ruddy chore when you have to do it -magic or not. Though Mum used to punish us by making us clean up without magic." The redhead shuddered, remembering. "Now... it's almost relaxing. Certainly nice to have something productive to do. Can't practice for Quiditch all the time and that..." She paused, brown eyes meeting Ronan's odd white eyes. "Well lets just say it's not very condusive to meeting anyone."
Pulling her wand back out she checked the status of the meal. "Good. Nearly there. silent artist Ronan nodded his head as he heard her explanation, noting her glance at her slip. He let it drop, not wanting to pry anymore than he already did. Though..."Can I at least know the name of this mysterious kitsu always crossing your mind?" Maybe if he ran across him, he would understand more of the situation. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf For a while, Ginny did not respond, Busying herself with final food preparations. It was almost as if she was ignoring the question, though anyone with Ronan's perceptive skills would see that she was biding her time to deliberate on whether to answer or not. The meal getting close to finished was simply a fortuitous circumstance.
With a casual swish & flick Ginny brought the meal over to the table. If she was an anthro she would be able to carry them. She sighed. "He's a winged anthro, so I guess that alone makes him pretty mysterious."
She gave Ronan a silly grin, stalling. Although she had talked to a few about her interest in Harry, she had told no one his name. Oh Hermione knew, but that was from before. Her family knew... but that too was not surprising considering the state of her emotions when they had taken her in... and that Harry had shown up that very day and one's thereafter as well. She had been too easy to read then. Sometimes still. silent artist Tapping about his tails, Ronan waited patiently for a reply. His eyes followed the movement of the floating meals to the table. That was...strange. He heard Ginny's vice and turned his attention back to her. He twitched his ears taking in the information. "Well, those are pretty rare. No wonder you'd be interested, with such a unique sight." He gave a goofy grin, then padded towards the table. He had seen her hesitation and anxiety in answering even that question. She sure had a crush, and hard too. "No worries, I won't bother you or pursue the situation any longer. For now let's enjoy this magical meal!" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Now she felt guilty. More... Ginny felt that he thought she liked Harry for all the wrong reasons. But she smiled at Ronan's goofy grin naturally enough. "Okay!"
Ginny nibbled at the meal, not having been very hungry herself but not wanting to make her new acquaintance eat alone. That was never any fun. After she had sampled everything & was satisfied that everything had turned out perfectly Ginny spoke again. "That's not why I like him, you know. He didn't look like that before." silent artist Ronan sat at a dish and tested the scampi. It was delicious! And it wasn't just magic alone, it took a skilled hand to know how to do that and cook. "This is really good Ginny!" He gulped down his meal quickly, savoring the taste. He paused, however, when he heard her next words. He jerked his head up with a raised brow. "What, you thought I...? Oh, not at all! Of course you'd like someone for more reasons than that!" He chuckled at himself. "Sorry if I confused you. I merely meant that it would bring great joy to like someone so unique as well. A sort of...pride, if you would. I'm sure he has a personality you can't resist!" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She blushed. What was she reliving her first year ineptness with emotional control & finesse all over again or what? "Thanks. Glad you like it. And yeah... he does." silent artist Ronan smirked. "See, looks aren't everything of course!" Ronan glanced outside a window and noticed how dark it was outside. "Oh, I'd better be leaving soon. " He turned to Ginny, "Thanks for the meal. How may I help you with this mess?" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Ginny blinked. When had Ronan finished. Laughing at herself she inclined her head to the dishwasher by the sink. "Probably my favorite muggle device of all time. Every cook's clean up friend." silent artist Ronan's gaze followed Ginny's instructions. He dragged his dishes to the machine, staring at it quizzically. (sp?) "Erm...How do you use this thing?" He was an outdoor kitsu through and through. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "We put the dirty dishes in bush some of those buttons & pce the thing's done it's job -clean dishes!"
Without the use of her wand, Ginny started to load the dirty but empty dishes. Scrap food praticles that were big enough she scraped into a special pail.

Remus & Kaida Mountain page 4923Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf ((Remy it is! *drags him out of his library* You need fresh air!)) Remus Lupin walked through the snow around the mountain. It wasn't much -just enough to hide most of the features and certainly all but the taller grasses. It did not even reach his robes, for which the wizard was grateful. He was a little concerned, as his daughter had started taking potions lessons from Severus Snape recently. He worried that she might set her goals too high and become disappointed.
Being a father was tougher than even he had thought.ice_demon_20 Kaida wandered towards the mountain HQ to see if her mate, Yrre, was around the area. She flicked an ear as she carefully placed each paw on the ground delicately. She hadn't been up here in quite some time and she needed time to readjust to the environment. Feeling vibrations on the ground from another kitsu's paws, she stopped in her tracks and let her ears swivel around to hear who was approaching her. "Who is to being there?" she asked out loud.
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The chocolate furred male flicked a dark striped ear first at the sound of the feminine voice. It sounded very familiar. Especially the way of talking. Remus looked up from his thoughts and smiled. "It is Remus Lupin, Kaida."
He trotted happily up to meet her, banded tails swaying. "It has been a while. How are you & Yrre doing? And your family?" ice_demon_20 Kaida swiveled her head around as she heard a voice from behind her. Turning her body around slightly, she flicked her tails across the ground, recognizing the voice. "Ah, the Kaida is to be gretting the Remus." She bowed her head slightly to her as she curled the tips of her tails delicately. "The Yrre?" she canted her head slightly. "The Kaida is to be not knowing how the Yrre is to being. The Kaida's family is to being alright, but the Azura is to being sick again."
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Remus blinked that Kaida did not know how her mate was doing. He himself checked on Nari as often as he could. But then, he had the advantage of being able to visit her at home, as she surely could visit him at his. Others did not seem to practice this as often, though he had expected more closeness from Yrre & Kaida.
"Ah yes. Azura. I do recall AearHwesta speaking of her. Took her flying, if I remember correctly." And surprisingly not more, for a change. The sailor angelic spoke of her as Azura-lass, not Azura-luv -which was a clear indication of having "shared pleasures" as Aear was apt to phrase it. "She's ill again? Perhaps I could see about making a tonic for her. It brought my audio sister, Relm & her Keme through their illness quickly when they became sick." Behind him his tails grazed the snow lightly, making little swishing marks. ice_demon_20 Kaida flicked an ear as she 'gazed' around the area carefully. She hadn't heard or felt anyone else approach, much to her dismay. She had wanted her mate to come to her, but lately she hadn't seen much of him due to her taking care of Azura after she had gotten sick again. This time the thin blue and white kitsu didn't feel down about being sick, but she wasn't exactly happy about it either.
Hearing Remus talk again, she flicked an ear in his direction and listened to his words carefully. She nodded her head slightly at his question and smiled slightly. "Yeah, she got it from one of the perma-kits my master has. The soot, one, I think. I can't really tell the two apart. They talk like they are high on helium al the time so I can't tell their voices apart." She canted her head as he mentioned the tonic. "That would be wonderful. I'm sure she is dying to fly with...Aear again." She stumbled over the name of the sailor-kitsu Azura went flying with, opting to say his nickname rather than his full name. Instantly, she converted back to her old way of talking, completely unaware of it. Maybe her being away from Yrre was a bad thing.
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The wizard blinked in surprise as Kaida reverted to her old way of speaking. For some reason it made his heart ache. "Our Lil' Soot doesn't talk very well himself." He said with a short chuckle. Remus still kept an eye on Kaida as he spoke perhaps trying to see through her to any specific problem. "I know AearHwesta is quite more than willing to fly her again." He winced slightly at the possible implications his dallying brother would have taken that, then winced again realizing that some of his angelic sibling's way of thinking must be rubbing off on him. He shook it away, gazing with plutonic tenderness at the female before him. "And how are you handling things, Kaida?" ice_demon_20 Kaida canted her head a little bit more, wondering why all of the soot-kitsu were like that. She closed her blind eyes for a few seconds, as if trying to figure something out. "Azura would be rather happy," she said to him in a soft voice. She wanted her to be healthy soon, but it looked like that wouldn't happen until after the snows had left the ground and Spring was upon them. Hearing Remus' question, she canted her head to the other side and gave him a confused look. "Handling thing?" she asked him, clearly confused.
Haisyn Fierra Atae stumbled through the snow, pausing every few steps to look around. She looked... lost. Which she was. Endless had said Soot came out to Mountain to visit some friends, and Atae had thought she knew the way, Soot had brought her here a couple of times, but apparently she hadn't. The snow wasn't really all that deep, but it was a lot deeper for a kit than it would be for an adult, and that hadn't really helped things.
She thought she heard voices and plowed in that direction, all but bumping into Remus' leg before she stopped. She opened her eyes right before she smacked into him (when had she closed them? She didn't remember) and squeeked in surprise before backpedaling a few steps and almost tripped over her tails. She stopped and managed to regain her balance. Today wasn't going well at all. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The experienced wizard gave her a knowing gaze. It was probably a good thing Kaida could not see it as it was likely one of those adults were known to give those younger than them when they thought they knew something. Perhaps he did. "Kaida... You are "to be missing the Yrre" are you not? That cannot be easy for you."
He might have gone further if not for the sudden weight against his leg & the following squeak of a young kit. He swiveled his head to see who was there & smiled softly. "Ah. Young Miss Atae. You have not hurt yourself, I hope."
"Kaida, this shy kit is Atae. Atae, this is a dear friend of mine, Kaida." ice_demon_20 Kaida flicked her ears slightly and opened her maw to say something to Remus' comment when she heard a thud from behind Remus. She tilted her body as she felt the vibrations of a kitsu falling on the ground, a curious gaze on her face. She flicked her ears again as she heard Remus greet the newcomer and then introduce the kit to her. She bowed her head slightly at Atae and she took a few steps towards the young kit. "Greetings," she merely said to Atae, not really sure what to say anymore. She had forgotten Remus' question completely.
Haisyn Fierra Atae couldn't help half hiding behind Remus' paw as she peeked out at Kaida. Kaida's eyes looked funny, though... was she blind? She didn't want to ask, though, she didn't know if blind people got annoyed when people pestered them about it or not... "H'llo..." She tugged on Remus' robe slightly. "Mr. Remus, I lost my Soot." Well... she hadn't really found Soot in the first place yet, but that was rather beside the point. Autumn_Fury Yrre skittered in, his blindfold pulled down over only one eye today. Peering about, we squeaked in unrestrained glee as he spotted the Worrier's friend, a little-little kit, and...Kaida! He wriggled for a moment, then shot forward to pounce on his mate, licking her cheeks and tugging playfully on her ear. The Kaida! He hadn't seen her in so long...
And so, he thought with a lopsided grin, that would be why he had been feeling down-down-down lately...to a degree that even the Worrier noticed and asked him about it...before runningning away again after the Isi-door. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Remus chuckled gently, letting his tails encircle Atae like a tent behind her as he had done for Liliana when she was still but a kit. "Then we should find your Soot, should we not? I suppose yours leaves a bit of a soot trail if we are lucky. Such a trail should be easy to find in the white snow."
Somehow he managed not to flinch at the sudden blur of purple that seemed to come out of nowhere & latch itself onto Kaida. As it dawned on him who it was Remus started to smile, then to beam. "Yrre. Good to see you again. Your Kaida was missing you." ice_demon_20 Kaida heard and felt the vibrations of a kitsu running towards her before she felt a tiny body pounce on her and a maw catching one of her ears. Catching the familiar scent of the kitsu, she smiled widely, laid down on the ground and tried to get at her mate's ear. "The Kaida was to be missing the Yrre," she said to him, instantly reverting back to her new way of talking as if nothing had happened.
Haisyn Fierra Atae's got very big when Yrre leaped out of nowhere, and she crawled under Remus' robe. It wasn't that Yrre seemed threatening, he wasn't nearly as much larger than her as the others, but he was just so... sudden. Atae couldn't really help that she was so easily startled. "E-e-endless said Soot came to visit Mountain... so I was gonna come find Soot... and uh... I lost the trail in some bushes..." She didn't really want to say that she'd lost herself after that, but it probably wasn't that hard to figure out. Autumn_Fury "The Yrre was to be missing the Kaidaaaa~" he replied, both in response to Remus and Kaida's statements. Giggling softly as Kaida went at his ear, Yrre snuggled happily against her. "Where was to be being the you~..?" he asked curiously, his stubby tails wagging quickly back and forth. "The Yrre was not to be seeing the Kaida anywheere!"
Oh, what would the Worrier say? Yrre blinked as he realized he was being rude, and peeked over at Remus and the kit from under his blindfold. "It is good to be seeing the Remus of the Worrier~" he commented, nodding. ice_demon_20 Kaida smiled widely as she heard her mate speak to her. She nodded her head slightly as she laid her head down on the ground, not bothering to put her paws under her chin. "The Kaida was to being busy taking care of the Azura. The Azura is to being sick again." A hint of sadness was in her voice as she said it.
Chillation It was one of those relaxing, lazy sundays for the teenaged wolven eyed kitsusagi as he padded through the Mountain, his ears and tails high as he watched and heard with keen senses, the many sudden movements of the inhabitants made him irk slightly so - they didn't ususally get in such large groups so often, and it made him wonder.
Stopping in his tracks, he happily spotted someone he DID know, and gave his respected quip of a sound, padding up to his father, rubbing against him before peering at him with scanning eyes - almost misunderstanding the number of kitsusagi that were around him. Jumping back a little whence his eyes finally drifted over them, he lowered his head just a little, falling in line with his father. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf ((The Remus of Worrier!!!! lol love it!)) Remus smiled at the reunited lovers softly. It was wonderful to see that the tragedy that had befallen Yrre did not seem to affect their love for each other. "Endless watches your soot also, so Aear once told me." He was completely non-pulsed at the kit being under his robes, having grown quite accustomed to it with his four. At least they no longer hid there not that they were juveniles. That would become cramped very quickly. "Perhaps in a moment I can go with you to backtrack your steps to those bushes -see if we can find the trail again."
Then his ears flicked at the unmistakable sound of his only son's greeting. He did wish he knew why this offspring had been saddled with the inability to communicate as others did. Still, Rommy handled it well. "Romulus! Join us, my boy? I will handle the introductions. Atae here in Liliana's former spot under my robes, Yrre & Miss Kaida. Everyone, my son.. Romulus."Haisyn Fierra Atae peeked up at Romulus and decided that maybe she should get out from under Remus. It's not the others were going to do anything to her, after all...
She crept carefully out from under the robe and over near Romulus. She managed to look up and squeek out a "H'llo..." without feeling the need to hide behind something, so that was a plus. Maybe eventually she'd stop hiding every time she met someone new. She'd have to work on her habit of squeeking when she tried to talk, though... Autumn_Fury ((Trel- xD I couldnt remember what Yrre's title for Remus had been! Its been awhile since he's gotten out..)) "The Azura is to be being sick...?" Yrre questioned, his ears perking forward with worry...and then twitching and flicking as soft footfalls announced the approach of another kitsu. He swung his head around to see Remus's son, automatically cuddling closer to his mate. "The Yrre is to be pleasing to be meeting the Romy...Rom-yoo...the Rom of the Remus of the Worrier." he greeted, inclining his head. Chillation A silent chuckle flashed on the face of "The Rom" when he heard the unique talk from the small kitsusagi; one about the size of he when he was younger. It struck him as slightly bizarre, but a silent kitsusagi was just as queer in the eyes of many, so he stayed his silent vigor; with the exception of giving a small click in welcoming, before nodding his head to The Yrre.
Upon doing as such, the wolven eyed one caught sight of the little Atae, who had been so meek and humble in his father's folds, before flickering his tails happily, content to see the little one had come to investigate the silent child, before making a quip of sound to her, in a hello, also. ice_demon_20 Kaida nodded her head somberly, a little sad that her friend had fallen sick yet again. Flicking an ear at the arrival of another kitsu, she leaned her body forward as if she wanted the new kitsu to come over to her. "The Kaida is to be greeting the Romulus," she said chipperly, forgetting her sadness for Azura.
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Glad to see Atae come out from his robes to greet his silent son. "Romulus doesn't speak as we do. But he seems to make himself understood." He smiled at his only son. Haisyn Fierra Atae started to sit and peered curiously at Romulus for a moment, but decided that like Soot, he probably didn't really talk. She jumped back up, however, when her tail base hit the snow. That was cold. She also realized that Remus had said something about going back to the bushes. "We could follow my tracks back to the bushes... if you all... don't mind..." Her ears went back and she blushed slightly. She really felt bad about interrupting the conversation, but she also really wanted to find Soot and she knew she couldn't do it by herself. Autumn_Fury Rom didn't speak? Yrre blinked in surprise, thinking of Kaida's father. But such thoughts were wiped away as the Atae mentioned his search. "Soot-seeker!" he chirped, hopping off of Kaida with a last affectionate nuzzle. "Can the Yrre to be helping to be seeking? The Yrre was to be needing to be being seeked for when the Shadows was to be taking the Yrre.." he paused with a shudder, then went on, "the Yrre is to be being sure that the Soot is wanting to be being found soon-like." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Remus shuddered too at the mention of the Shadows & that fateful night. He himself had not gone into the cave nor seen what happened therein, but he knew the results. Even now -months later, the kits who's eggs arrived when he returned to Nari afterward now grown to juveniles- Remus had happened upon AearHwesta when he was sleeping thrashing in nightmare at having been unable to save the captured from the Demons.
"Your assistance would be greatly appreciated, Yrre." The wizard said with a smile. "What do you say, Atae? Shall we head off to find your Soot?"((Although I'm not going to reply as if Kaida & Romulus are still there, I'm not going to comment that they're gone either so that if either can/wants to return they can. wink )) Haisyn Fierra Atae looked at both Yrre and Remus gratefully. She hadn't really heard much about what had happened with the shadows, just snippets here and there since Endless didn't like to dwell on it, but she still didn't want anything like that to happen to Soot. "Yeah! We should go find Soot. Soot didn't go by the road to get to the HQ here, or I woulda found Soot... Soot likes to go explore sometimes." Her ears drooped a bit. "I hope nothing happened, and Soot just got sidetracked and that was why it was so hard to follow..." Autumn_Fury "The we will be to be finding the Soot..." Yrre chirped, flicking his ears about for sounds that might be Soot-ish. "The Yrre was to be liking to explore too, until the Yrre was to be being made kit-small..." he trailed off, then grinned. "But if the Sootsprite is to be being like the Soot the you is to be looking for, then the Soot will already be being kit-small, yesyes?" He bounced a little, thinking of the little black-dusty kitsu that refused to play with him, and absently wished that she would go exploring, for once. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf I do believe all the soots look much the same and are forever the size of kits, yes, Yrre. Ours certainly has not grown and Lil'Soot joined our family before my children were conceived." Remus replied with a nod. Touching the kit gently with his nose he indicated that she should lead the way. "Let's start where you lost Soot's trail Atae. We can try our chances from there." The wizard did not think anything would happen to the little soot, but there was certainly no reason to take chances. Haisyn Fierra Atae perked up a bit and started back down the furrow she'd made in the snow on her way here. It wasn't particularly hard to follow, even after they reached the thicker foliage, since she'd tried to avoid anything that might make it hard for her to follow her own way back if she did indeed need to return on her own before she found Soot, or at least someone. It also went a lot faster going back since she actually knew where she was going this time, although it still took several minutes. At last they came to a set of thick and fairly wide bushes where her trail started and she stopped. "Well... it was here." There were some tracks from side to side, it was obvious she'd tried to find where Soot came out, but the bush got thicker and wider as it went farther down to the point where it would have been rather difficult for a tired and scared lost kit to get through or around. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The scholarly kitsu looked at the area. Searching really was not his forte, but he would try. He was out of practice on the survival front too -not having needed such skills since being born a kitsusagi into a loving family. Those years surviving on his own after James & Lily Potter had been killed seemed even farther away than the rest of his memories from before. Probably because he did not like to even think about them then.
Remus circled around the bush where it went wider without a second thought. "if the tracks go in... it stands to reason that there will be tracks coming out... unless your soot is still inside." Since I highly doubt he can aparate.
On the far side of the bush there were indeed tracks. Well, after a while. directly by the bush the indents in the snow were in quite a flurry, as if the kit had played, slid, or gotten stuck on the bush on the way out. ""I'm not very good with trails... do these look like your soot's prints?"

A lot going on page 3935Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana felt drained. Potions lessons were far more taxing with Severus than any had lessons with her father. She was suspecting that Remus had been being lenient with her teachings... and that hurt so much she didn't know what to think.
So after finishing that day's homework the eldest daughter of Remus & Nari walked alone in the snow back towards kitsu HQ. The cold wind helped freeze her thoughts for a moment. Sometimes.
She wondered idly how her friend Edward was doing. If he even was her friend, after the way he had left. Golden tipped red ears drooped sadly. Lily really did not have many friends.Remus aparated into Headquarters. Liliana had been gone when he returned from the mountain and he was worried. He had seen her finished homework in the library, but there was no other trace of her. Certain she had aparated here, the worried father came looking. BlackPidgeot Edward was rather cross as he made his way down a hallway. His brows furrowed, muzzle turned down in a frown, and his ears pinned back. He'd had a recent and rather explosive argument with Roy, or who he thought was Roy, and it nearly came to blows. Instead, Edward had left in a huff after he was pretty much told to get out. Which he was rather happy to do. He's had enough of this place, he needed to get away for awhile, and that was what he was going to do. ice_demon_20 Curled up in a corner of the HQ was a familiar kitsu. She flicked a limp ear slightly as she heard a pop from somewhere in the room. Not really sure of what it was or where it came from, Azura lifted her head up and gazed around the room until her eyes fell upon Remus. Shuddering slightly, she put her head back down on her forepaws and sighed loudly.
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The scholar's compassionate heart could not overlook the sigh of the sick looking blue kitsu. He padded over in concern, wondering at the slight resemblance she had to Ember's mate, Rhian. And she was thin, too thin. Much like Rhian had been when he had first met her. "Excuse me... have you been here long? I was looking for my daughter..."Liliana stopped outside the hq door. She really did not want to go inside. But... she had nothing in particular to do or to go to. With a sigh she sat down in the snow with a plop, watching the door for nothing better to do. BlackPidgeot It wasn't long until Edward reached the door... and he frowned, pushing on it with his paw before letting out a sigh. Closed doors certainly were a pain, especially since he had no hands... and he... couldn't reach the knob. >_<# "It there's no door, make one yourself" he told himself with a smirk. The kit reaching into a pocket and pulling out a piece of chalk he managed to snatch from Roy's supply. Taking a few moments to draw a circle on the door, he then touched it with his paws. Light and energy crackled, before a tiny Ed sized door appeared... inside the big door. "Looks like I've still got it!" he said with a wide, pleased grin. Pushing it open... Edward exited and was met with a blast of cold wind and the sight of snow. He scowled... so that's why the door was closed. Ugh. Mau Making his way to the HQ, Armand dodged around drifts of snow, snarling lightly to himself as he went. He really hated snow. He was not overly a fan of water in any form, but snow.. His head held low, ears tucked in, he almost ran over the small red teen sitting in front of the door. "What're you doing sitting in front of the door?" Sitting beside her, he began dislodging the snow between his toes, grumbling lightly to himself. Snow between your toes was a most unpleasant feeling.Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She meeped as someone almost ran over her, then scowled slightly at the question, wondering why that same somebody sat with her. "Waiting for something. Anything." Liliana said without turning, not recognizing the voice
Lily blinked at the display of magic, visible to her even on the outside of the door. Seeing Edward through the newly made & opened smaller door the teen tilted her head. "Edward?" BlackPidgeot Glancing about... he caught sight of two other Kitsusagi nearby. All of which are taller than him... but that's not too surprising as almost everyone he's met, is. c_c# He's still growing atleast! However, an ear turned forward as one of them said his name and he recognized her. "Hey Liliana!" he replied with a grin and a wave of his metal paw. Also, having no clue who the other guy is. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Ginny was mad. A little. Okay, maybe a lot. Trelweny had forcibly kicked her out of the kitchen. So what if the human woman said that Ginny really should go to the Realm HQ right now? The red-headed witch was tired of getting her hopes up. Not that those she had met were not interesting... but her heart was starting to lose interest. So it was with a frown Ginny aparated into the HQ, nodding once at Remus though he probably couldn't see her & stepping into the kitchen automatically without even looking up. ice_demon_20 Azura lifted her head off of her forepaws again when she noticed that the clothed-kitsu was coming towards her. Not knowing what to do, she stayed where she was until Remus had stopped in front of her. Flicking a limp ear again, she looked up at him with her orange-hued eyes and shrugged slightly. "I've been here awhile, but I haven't seen anyone coming in or out of here in a while. Sorry."
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The wizard smiled softly & sighed, glancing up only in time to see the tip of Ginny's tail disappear into the kitchen. "Thank you."
"Forgive me. I forgot to introduce myself. I am Remus J. Lupin, though most call me Remus." He dipped his head pleasantly at Azure, smiling kindly. ice_demon_20 Azura gazed at the male kitsu curiously as he bowed to her while introducing himself. She didn't bother trying to get up to introduce herself. She was far too weak to do anything other than attempt to walk from one room to another. "It's a pleasure to meet you Remus. I'm Azura." She smiled slightly at him, her limp ears pinned to her skull.
Mau Her statement didn't make any sense to him, but he merely shrugged. "Suit yourself, but you might want to get out of the way." Then as she sent a familiar greeting to the newcomer, he stood and shook the remaining snow off his paws. "You should stay inside. Too cold for kids." (last bit directed at Ed, not Lily so much)The anthro was just about buried in the fridge when Ginny stormed her way into the kitchen, the sound of the door shutting making him poke his head around the door to the fridge. At the expression on Ginny's face, he offered his best apologetic grin before ducking back into the fridge to hide. "Coming to cook some more?" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf A slow gentle smile touched his maw. "Ah. So you are Azura. I recently spoke with Kaida about you. And AearHwesta has told me of you as well." Carefully he watched for a reaction. "I mentioned to Kaida that I should like to get you a tonic we use for some colds. I wish I had brought some with me, but I had not anticipated meeting you so soon." His tone held the note of apology to it.----- Liliana sighed with relief. Edward did not seem to be mad at her. Whatever reason he left her & her mother the other night, he was not mad at her. "I'm so glad to see you're okay!"
At the stranger's comments she looked at him. Then stared. Her eyes narrowed a fraction. He reminded her of Professor Snape. Well, the potion's master did have children. And grandchildren. "If you really must know, I needed the cold air to clear my head for a while." She paused, glancing kindly at Ed in his doorway before frowning once more at the adult beside her. "It's as cold for us as it is for him."
Smiling at the kit she stood, dusting her legs off with her tails. Like all in her family -except Gwen- she liked the cold weather. "Where would you rather be, Edward? Inside or outside?"----- Her head snapped up at the familiar voice, brown eyes wide. I'd better not be dreaming... she thought tightly to herself. But there he was.
With a little whine she launched herself at him, needing to feel that Harry was indeed real & was indeed there. Almost immediately after she had done so Ginny stepped back, lightning flashing in her brown eyes. "I might." She growled softly, feeling hurt, worried, excited, confused. "Where have you been?!????? I've... we've been worried!!"----- BlackPidgeot Edward gave Liliana an amused look, laughing lightly, "Why wouldn't I be alright?" he asked. Seemingly having forgotten that he had left abruptly the last time they talked, ah well. However, the kit soon look rather indignant at the stranger's comment of kids not needing to be out in the cold. His ears flattened and he huffed, although he was surprised as Liliana stuck up for him. "I have clothes and boots... I'm fine out here" Which was more than could be said for the two of them. So yes.. he wanted to stay outside. Inside was Roy.. and Ed didn't care to see his fake father. ice_demon_20 Azura nodded her head slightly, a little relieved that some of the kitsu she knew also knew Remus. She flicked her ears slightly at the mention of a tonic and a puzzled look came across her face. "Tonic?" she asked him curiously, clearly not sure what a tonic was.
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The teen floundered a bit. "You seemed awfully upset when you left before is all. I was worried I hurt your feelings." Green eyes sought the kit's, almost as if seeking confirmation that this was not the case.
Making a face she nodded at Armond in an almost overly-polite way that bordered on mocking. "If you're cold, go inside. Edward I will play in the snow." She turned to grin at her friend. "Won't we?"------ How best to describe tonic? What were the muggle words Trelweny used? ah yes. "It is a type of medicine. In this case, it has some magical properties. It could speed up your recovery, or at the very least soothe some of the symptoms." Remus smiled, then added dryly. "I am afraid it does not have the most appealing of tastes or scents." BlackPidgeot Edward's expression wavered for a bit as Liliana mentioned the other day.. and he remembered. "Naw" he said dismissively, shaking his head, "It was nothing." It certainly had nothing to do with Liliana after all. His ears then turned forward again and the braided kit grinned yet again, "Sure." After all... he could really use a bit of fun after all that's happened lately. A casual glance was then thrown back to the door.. and the mini entryway he had created. Well... since he wasn't planning on going back in, he should probably fix that. And thus he did, drawing the nessecary circle and transmuting the door into its originally solid form. ice_demon_20 Azura canted her head to one side as she listened to Remus explain what a tonic was. She nodded her head slightly, finally able to understand what the tonic was used for. "It can't be as bad as the stuff Kaida's human makes me take." She shuddered slightly at the thought of downing another cup of homemade tea DBZ made for her whenever she got sick.
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana watched curiously. "Now how's that not magic?" The juvenile asked almost teasingly as she stepped away from the HQ clearly expecting Edward to follow her. Being near one that was likely her teacher's offspring some way, shape, or form was not helping her clear her head. And Lily wanted it clear before she spent the rest of the night trying to duplicate her failed potion until she got it perfect. Or at least figured out where she had gone wrong.------ "Well, it might be... but it is known to work." Remus paused thoughtfully. "I had gotten the impression from Kaida that you were family. Would her human not be yours as well?" ice_demon_20 Azura shrugged slightly. "I've never really known her to be my 'human' but as a friend and a caretaker. The others, except Ryuuza, call her master, which I think is very inappropriate to call her." She nodded her head slightly.
BlackPidgeot Edward twitched... "Its not magic!" he howled into the air, incredibly indignant once more. However, he still got up and followed Liliana.. even if he had his head ducked and was pouting. He would explain alchemy to her if she would only ask... seriously. But well.. she seemed convinced that it was no more than mere hocus-pocus. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Remus chuckled softly. "I suppose we -my family- call her our human because she is the only human among us. Except for her son, of course. Sometimes we call her mom, as she is very mothering to all of us, but never master. Even the GaiaCom to whom she is master never calls her such. She is always Trelweny."
He smiled, thinking of it. "She is friend, confidant, mother, caretaker. But she is also human, and since many seem to have human caretakers it is easy to simply "claim" her when speaking. So in conversation outside the home, it becomes easy to call her "our human"."The crimson teen paused at Ed's exclamation, dark wings flickering softly on her back. Now why did that upset him so much?
"So what, is it?" She asked curiously. Liliana would not press tonight if it seemed Edward did not want to answer, put perhaps another night... "I'll admit it's not like magic I'm accustomed to, but Daddy reads about other types of magic as well so I suppose it could be one of those." She walked as she started talking again just heading away but within sight of the HQ's bright windows. BlackPidgeot Edward shuffled through the snow.. which ended up being rather... deep. Grunting and growling a bit as he pushed through the stuff that came up to his chest. "Its called alchemy" he explained in his fluster, although more at the snow situation than her. "Its based on equivalent exchange. You can't make something out of nothing... like magic." That was a very very rough and brief explanation as a real would would have to go more indepth... but this... SNOW! Argh. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "I think you said that before. It's a "science" right?" She rolled the word curiously around on her tongue. She remembered now that he had gotten upset about her calling it magic before so did not pay his odd way of saying it much mind & so did not yet see his dilemma. "Precision, right? Like potions."
The analogy did nothing to her mood. Tails drooped, ears fell, eyes saddened. Precision she had failed at this morning. Glancing at her friend Liliana saw the trouble he was having and somehow managed a giggle. Feeling more like a kit than she ever had when she was a kit, Liliana pounced him -intending to roll Edward over playfully. BlackPidgeot He lifted a brow at the mention of potions, before rolling his shoulders. He didn't know much of such things. "Maybe... There's several different kinds of transmutation circles, what I drew on the door. Each one has a specific purpose, and the energy channeled between the alchemist and the array, is what brings about a transmutation or change. As long as the beginning and ending products are of equal...ACK!" And now he found himself pounced on on his back in the snow.... completely immersed in it. "Heeey.. no fair!" x_X Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana giggled. "Sorry... I know I'm bigger than you."
She did not say it with any kind of malice -just stating a fact since she was a teen & he was only a kit. Rolling off him she rolled onto her back, flicking her wings in the snow beneath her to make a snow-kitsu-angel. "Let's talk about that some other time. I've gotta go home to potions homework in a while anyway." Not quite true. The official homework was already finished -it was her own stubborn need to find where she had gone wrong that still waited for her. "I don't wanna think right now." She admitted with a short laugh. BlackPidgeot Edward scowled as she said she was bigger than he was. "I'm not small.." he huffed indignantly yet again. But as she let him up, Edward climbed back to his paws and shook the wet snow off of him. He was fine with it if she didn't want to talk about alchemy. Winry never seemed to care much for it either. He looked a bit interested as she mentioned going home, "Can I come with you?" It was probably better than being around Roy atleast. c_c Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "Of course you're small. You're a kit. Kits are small." Liliana shrugged, not seeming to notice if maybe Ed was smaller than other kits his age. She probably never would -at least until Edward reached his full size. Until then his being younger than her was enough to account for the size difference.
She sat up with surprise in the middle of her "angel" to look at him. "You want to watch me do homework?" The teen blinked incredulously. "Sure. I mean, I don't see why not. We're all allowed to have friends over."
There was a definite hopeful look to her green eyes. "We are friends... aren't we?" BlackPidgeot As soon as Liliana sat up, she would see Ed sitting there... holding up a clenched paw and clenching his teeth in a fierce, yet comical expression. His reaction to the word 'small'. Must... resist... urge... to kill. However, the expression suddenly vanished at her question, and he blinked. "Well yeah... sure... we're friends" he said, looking a bit confused. As if she had to ask. He then smiled warmly, seemingly happy himself that he had a friend. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She was not sure if she should laugh or hide at the kit's play of features. All that was momentarily forgotten as he confirmed that they were, indeed, friends. White and gold tails swept happily across the snow, ruining her "angel", but Lily did not care. With a joyful sound she hopped to her feet, shaking the snow from her fur with happiness. "Come on then!" She exclaimed, running a quick circle around Edward. "You'll like my home! Even if you do end up watching me make the same boring potion all night! And it's safe too!"
Lily would walk him to her home, though aparating was easiest. If they walked, Edward would know the way there & be could visit! Her tails wagged & even her wings flapped with the notion.
She had a friend! ((Remus & Axure Cont: page 3944)) ice_demon_20 Azura canted her head to one side as she listened to Remus talk about the human that took care of him and the other kitsu that lived with him. She flicked an ear slightly and nodded her head slightly. "Then what do you call a two-legged kitsu?" she asked him curiously. She had always known Ryuuza to being a different kitsu, but she didn't know what kind of kitsu he was. She just called him "human-kitsu" whenever she would describe him to the perma-kits.
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "A kitsu that walks upright, on two legs? Like Harry & Squall do? I have been calling them 'anthro', though I would explain it much as you have: two-legged kitsu." His expression was quite solemn & thoughtful as he spoke. "The term anthro is useful for multiple species as well." Remus nodded to himself, thinking of his Audio brethren in particular. ice_demon_20 Azura looked at him with a confused look on her face. Anthro was a new term for her and she didn't know what to make of it. "Anthro? So, he isn't a human-kitsu?" she asked him, a hint of confusion in her voice. "And what other species is also known as anthro?"
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Remus smiled gently, not at all patronizing. "I suppose human-kitsu is also appropriate. As for other species, The adult stage for an Audio Rhetoric walks upright, though as they develop they travel on all four. I have been told of others, but those are the only ones within my family that have what could be called an 'anthro' form." Having not visited the Jivvin Center nor read much up on the race, Remus Lupin was not aware that young Theron's jivvin bond could possibly grow to a fourth, anthro, stage. ice_demon_20 Azura shrugged slightly at his words. She hadn't seen an Audio Rhetoric before so she could only imagine that they looked very odd, like Ryuuza. "So, you have many anthro creatures in your family?" she asked him curiously. "I bet they are cool to watch while they are walking. I know it is neat to see Ryuuza walk on two legs."
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The scholar blinked. "I suppose I had not thought about it, since their walking upright is so commonplace anymore. There are five of them, one whom I am closer to than the others who is also one of the oldest in the family. Certainly the patriarch in a way." He left out that in his before he too had walked upright -as he had been human then from what he bothered to recall. It was not that he felt the need to leave Azura in the dark, simply that he no longer dwelled much on his before for anything other than the knowledge & experiences he could take from it. His now was much more important to him. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The scholar blinked. "I suppose I had not thought about it, since their walking upright is so commonplace anymore. He left out that in his before he too had walked upright -as he had been human then from what he bothered to recall. It was not that he felt the need to leave Azura in the dark, simply that he no longer dwelled much on his before for anything other than the knowledge & experiences he could take from it. His now was much more important to him. ice_demon_20 Azura nodded her head slightly and she sighed slightly. Soon she would get bored of watching Ryuuza walk and she would have to look elsewhere to find something interesting. She glanced behind him to see the room still empty. Something about that made her a little uneasy right then and there. She normally liked the quiet, but she had gotten herself adapted to living with four other adult kitsu and two perma-kits. Looking up at him, she noticed his robes had a symbol on them. Slowly, she stood on her paws and took a few steps towards him, her gaze still on the marking on the front of his robes.Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Spending most of his time in his library, Remus was quite accustomed to quiet. However he was not accustomed to having his robes inspected. They were common enough to most that he knew. Of course, he had only just met Azure. "Is there something wrong with my robes?" ice_demon_20 Azura glanced up at him curiously before letting her gaze fall back down on his robes. "I think you have a spot on them." She pointed at the symbol he bore on the front of his robes.
((Harry & Ginny cont: page 3946)) Mau He winced slightly at the tone of her voice, knowing full well that she was furious at him for disappearing. [AGAIN XP *hands ginny a hammer and some nails*] Backing away from the fridge, he moved to the counter and sat on the edge of it. "We?" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Looking where the sickly female was pointing Remus studied the Hogwarts crest there carefully. "Are you certain, Miss Azura? I do not see anything amiss on the crest."
Yes. Remus did not fathom that it was the crest itself that she referred to. ice_demon_20 Azura frowned slightly at the word crest. "What's a crest? Is it that spot on your robes?" she was slightly confused at his robes. How could a kitsu wear them and not have them drag on the ground?
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Ginny flushed hotly. She had only switched to the we to avoid having it made clear how much she had missed Harry. "Me & my family." The redhead hastily replied, looking away so that he might not see the whole of the truth she concealed with her words. "One or another of us stops by most days... but none of us have seen you."
Her ears drooped slightly. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Remus finally got it and laughed softly at himself for not seeing it sooner. "The crest is a symbol for Hogwarts, a school that trains witches and Wizards in the use of their magic. I wear one on my robes because in my before I was once student & later teacher." Mau "I haven't seen Remus since... well, it's been a long time." He chuckled lightly to himself, then shook his head at that particular memory. Lucius Malfoy. A frown crossed his face and he wrinkled his nose at the thought of the blonde kitsu. Thankfully, he hadn't been seen in a very long time. With another shake of his head, he offered Ginny a small smile. "I've been trying to figure out what's missing. I don't remember as much as you and the others do..." ice_demon_20 "In your before?" she asked him curiously. "Is that sorta what Roy was before he was a kitsu? He mentioned something like that to me when we were talking one day. He said something about his past life being a total mess and that he wanted to have a second chance to make things better." She stared at the crest for a few more seconds before turning her gaze to the scars on his ears.
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She could hardly help but smile in return at Harry's smile. "I know you've not seen him in a while. He let's me know. I mean... we're all concerned about you, Harry, you know." Hopefully he would not see the new flush beneath the old. "Did Nari tell you their kits have grown? They're juveniles now. Lily's tight on Remus most the time, But she's started taking potions lessons with Severus." The smallest dark cloud crossed her face.
"I remember most things... up until the end of my 4th year I think. From what Remus tells me, that is as far as he remembers as well. I suspect Hermione knows more..." Her heart fluttered hopefully, remembering something that Hermione had told her. Then she shrugged, smiling sheepishly at him. "Harry... where have you been?""I suspect it is, though..." He was about to say that he did not know this Roy but then Remus realized that he at least knew of him. Perhaps. "This is the Roy that Kaida spoke of? Who would not tell her how she & her mate would, ah-em, make kits?" ice_demon_20 Azura canted her head slightly as she sat down on her haunches. "I think so. He did finally teach Kaida how kits were made after she kept bugging him for a week straight." She giggled slightly at the memory of Kaida tagging behind the alchemist kitsu, asking him over and over how kits were made.
Mau "I saw that they grew. Although the one who lives the same place I do doesn't seem interested in much other than magic. And getting Liliana off of Remus via a crowbar." He had heard the small teen grumble as much on many occasions when they crossed paths; she seemed to be determined to trump her sister one way or another. "Remus gets along with Severus, though, from what I've heard.. He probably told her to get lessons from him. He's porbably not as bad as he used to be.. I've been here, some times. Just not the same as you." Harry doubted very much that Remus worried about him, and he had never met the rest of Ginny's family.. combining her cover-up of 'we' and the fact that she was almost as red as her hair... "I'm starting to get things from sixth year now..."Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "Oh? The wizard quirked an ear. "Was that before or after Ginny finagled me into helping her explain it to Yrre & Kaida I wonder? ""Remus did tell her he could not teach her any more than he had." She shook her head with a small laugh, her red hair fanning about her face. "I think she only started this morning... but I don't keep track of everything she does."
"I suppose it's possible we've not crossed paths." Her blush was starting to fade, not suspecting what Harry was starting to conclude & feeling that she had made it past implications to her feelings safely. "I've managed to meet a lot of interesting kitsu when I do show up, so it's been good."
Her ear quirked slightly as he mentioned his sixth year. That of course would have been Hermione's too... Ginny tried not to think of her friend mentioning a kiss, but the thought came anyway. She schooled her face carefully. "Your sixth, my fifth? Did anything interesting happen?" Ginny tried to keep her voice as nonchalant as possible ice_demon_20 Azura shrugged her shoulders slightly. "To be honest, I have no idea. I didn't even know that you were going to tell her and her mate." She sighed slightly and began to draw invisible markings on the ground with one of her paws.
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Remus chuckled. "I was roped into it, more than anything."
He was curious now. "What about you, Azure? Do you have someone special?" ice_demon_20 Azura shook her head slightly at his question. "No. I've had a few males in mind, but they all got healthy mates. I am thinking that they don't want me as their mate because I am so unhealthy and get sick every other week." She was sad that he was ropped into something he didn't want to do.
Mau He nodded in reply. "The very beginnings of my sixth year, anyways.. and a little bit into. Ron started dating Lavender." At the very thought of that memory, his face scrunched up. "And you.. were going out with Dean." He positively scowled at that, though he didn't exactly know why just yet. Of course, he wasn't about to tell her of his wish to throttle Dean when they were going out, either. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "I find it hard to believe your health would be much of a factor, Azura." Remus had some experience with this. "After all your sister met her mate -my Soul Brother, Ember- when she was sick, and I myself am... ill... at least once a month." There was a wryness to the wizard's smile. "Nari insisted that my condition was neither a detriment nor a hinderence when it came to her feelings. I am certain you will find someone who will not see your illness as something to stand in the way." His smile was kind. "If that is what you want to find."The witch raised a brow, watching Harry's reactions. She could see that. She had been dating Michael after all during her fourth year. Hermione's plan really. She would have been tempted to do similar here... but she saw no point in it really. No word of it would get to Harry; no chance to make him jealous. "Really? Well Dean was always nice to me. I doubt I'd turn him down for a date."
Her heart was pounding in her chest as she stepped around Harry to reach the fridge & to grab something to drink. "Ron & Lavender? I bet that upset Hermione." Brown eyes scrunched, seeing what she could make with the ingredients inside the fridge. "Were you hungry? I could make something for you." ice_demon_20 Azura sighed loudly as she listened to Remus's little speech about how it wasn't her health that was making the male kitsu not wanting her as a mate. Maybe she wasn't trying hard enough. She shrugged slightly before nodding her head. "I hope I can find the right male to take good care of my like my sister's mate and your mate are doing."
ice_demon_20 Azura was confused at Remus' last statement. "What do you mean by that?" she asked him curiously. The last male kitsu she had fallen in love with she hadn't really been looking for any mate yet a handsome kitsu came out of the blue only to pick another female over her.
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf There was a perplexed look about Remus as he attempted to put into words something he had only sporadically thought of before. "Only that, it seems that the more one is looking for a mate or companion the longer it seems to take to find the right one but that when not thinking of such things it seems to happen much more quickly."
The wizard paused, his brows furrowing together in thought. "Or perhaps it only seems that way, because when not looking the time seems to go quicker." ice_demon_20 Azura seemed to understand Remus' words slightly as she shrugged slightly. Flicking a limp ear she let her body flop down on the ground. Her being upright had spent her of the little energy she had and she sighed slightly, wondering how long it would take her body to regain the lost energy. "I think I understand," she said to Remus, her voice a little softer than before.
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She looked tired, and Remus felt suddenly guilty for keeping her. And he still had not found Liliana. "I apologize. I have been taxing you with conversation when you need your rest." He bowed lightly, preparing to leave. "I could make that tonic for you when I return home, if you wish. I can leave it for you in the kitchen if I do not find you when I return." (Harry & Ginny cont: page 3971)) Mau "Yeah.. it did.. Ron was pretty clueless." [yule ball anyone?] He stepped out of her way so that she could reach the fridge, but still watched her. His memories were confusing to him lately.. and mostly they centered on Ginny. Thankfully, he didn't seem to remember much of Voldemort, or the bad things he knew had happened. "There isn't much in there right now.." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The redheaded witch snorted with affectionate contempt. "Ron's always been a bit clueless."
Huffing with disappointment Ginny closed the refrigerator. "Guess I've been cooking here too much, or however this place gets restocked is a little slower than usual." Brown eyes looked up at the anthro. "I can figure out something to make with what's there, but it sure wouldn't be the greatest. The kitchen at home is stocked -you wanna go home with me?"
Hardly believing the words were out of her mouth Ginny forced herself not to show her embarrassment. Except for the tips of her ears getting a slightly darker shade it appeared she managed it. Mau "Go.. home with you?" Harry flicked one ear, flushing just slightly. True, he had been to Ginny's home many times in the past... but that was different. Back then, her family had always been there. Now.. "Are you sure no one minds?" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Well, she had invited him. Whether it was the smartest thing in the world to have done or not, Ginny was going to stick to it now. "Trelweny's always saying we're allowed to bring home our friends anytime, though I think only the audios have taken her up on that so far." Ginny knew Rikku and Relm had certainly brought "friends" over, though Naruto & Keme were much more to the audio girls than just friends now the quiet mage Relm had over another time certainly was only a friend. She felt a little flutter that perhaps... no. She was not going to think about it in case it did not happen.
"As long as you don't mind a big family. My new family is much larger than those of us that lived in the Burrows." Mau "Larger?" Ginny's family before had been large, even by wizarding standards... to have an even bigger one here? "It can't be worse than school." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Ginny laughed. "No, I guess it can't be. But it's certainly different."
She smiled warmly up at Harry, her tails wagging ever so slightly behind her. "Do you remember where it is, enough to aparate there? Or would you rather walk?" Her face crinkled as she grinned, remembering the time Harry had flown her home. "Or fly again."((I know that RP was never finished, but it was implied Harry would fly Ginny home so... heart hope you don't mind!)) Mau "I... don't remember well enough to apparate.." He scratched the back of his head, slightly embarrassed at that partcular memory. "It would probably be faster to fly.." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Brown eyes sparkled with excitement & hope. "It's been a while since AearHwesta has flown me -since before Remus taught me how to aparate- but I still know the way flying. Once we get close to home I know all the airspace, having flown most of it with Fred & George."
Ginny hopped ever so slightly with an almost giddiness to her step as she headed for the door. In the doorway she paused, looking up at Harry. "You don't mind, do you? I don't want to be an inconvenience." Mau Flushing more, Harry looked away slightly and tried to be abosrbed in the wall. "No.. er.. You weren't a problem last time, so.." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "ohm good." The kitsu witch tilted her head quizically at Harry's reaction. A flutter of hope stirring in her chest. Ginny squelched it immediately. "Harry?" She asked in concern. Whyever was he looking at the wall like that? "Do you want to go?" Mau Blinking, he forced his attention away from the wall and back onto Ginny. "Sure.. we can just apparate outside, right?" He offered one hand [er. paw] to Ginny, stretching his wings a little bit. He hadn't flown in a while. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Smiling, Ginny worked to control the suddenly wild beating of her heart as she lifted a paw to place it in the one offered her. "I don't see why not." Mau After she had taken his hand, Harry helped Ginny onto his back - between his wings, the safest place for her to "sit" while he flew. "I've never apparated with someone else before.. " He really hoped nothing.. bad.. happened. But once he had her settled between his wings, he closed his eyes to apparate just outside the HQ - where he could use his wings easily. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf It was really difficult to pretend that everything was normal. Ginny felt certain that the anthro would be able to feel the way her heart was pounding in her chest. She held on as best she could with her legs, slightly closing her eyes as they aparated. Her words when they next came out were a little breathless as Ginny opened her eyes to see the outside of the HQ beside them. "Seems you do it just fine, Harry."
Then as if slow to remember that she had to give directions Ginny raised a paw in the direction of Bass'ken Lake. "That way." Mau "Luckily.. it would've been messy otherwise." He grinned softly, then took off in the direction she pointed out. It was odd - having someone riding with him. The most he had carried other than her was his guardian.

Fullmetal Alchemist comes to Bass'ken Woods page 4025Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf ((*fastforwarding to getting to bass'ken lake* wink I hate figuring out how far it is to travel between places... xp )) Liliana trots slightly ahead of her friend, occasionally looking back at the kit & smiling. Despite the disappointment of her first potions lesson & knowing that she would be spending most the night trying to figure out why her potion did not work right the crimson teen felt good. She had a friend!
Every so often she would flutter her wings more than others & they would catch a breeze, taking her momentarily into the air. At these times Liliana giggled.
As they passed Bass'ken Lake the teen picked up the pace. "We're nearly there, Edward! Just into those woods ahead!"((*giggles* I swear, Lily switches moods like no one else in my family.)) BlackPidgeot (( Liliana has wings? I thought she was a normal. XD )) Edward trotted along behind Liliana, looking inquisitively at the countryside as they passed through. This is the farthest he's ventured from the Realm HQ... and he felt rather independant. Which was certainly a good feeling for the little kit, who had done much wandering in his former life. However, there were still sizeable holes in his memory. He watched quietly as she stretched her wings and caught the wind... even lifting off the ground. Ed tried to do the same, spreading his wings a bit, but dismayed as the wind wasn't able to lift him off the ground. He had yet to learn how to fly.
Turning his ears forward as she spoke, the kit grinned, "Great!"Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf ((She's a normal with small wing edits. She & Rommy both have wings. you can just see them as a different color on their kit stages, but they became apparent when they grew to teens. Their wings are much smaller than those of an angelic LA base.)) She grinned as she trotted quickly into the forest. Some light flickered through needles of the conifer trees & the branches of the deciduous trees of the woods. There was a fairly clear path though the woods, a little wider than a large draft horse. Some old wagon ruts lightly marked the edges. "You know... I bet Uncle Aear would be willing to show you how to fly if you want. Should come much easier to you, with your bigger wings and all." There was only a slight hint of jealousy in the teen's voice. After all, Liliana felt quite lucky to have wings at all. "He taught me, you know. Daddy certainly couldn't beyond theory." and I didn't want to ask Mother...
Deep in the woods a clearing opened up to reveal a quaint little cottage, perhaps one and a half stories high. It looked only large enough to have 4-5 rooms inside. Smoke curled welcomingly out of the chimney bringing with it a soft, comfortable warm smell.
The cottage itself was surrounded by a lush rose garden, beautifully blooming despite the snow on the ground. Amid the roses there were Amaryllis, Morning Glories, Moon Flowers, Midnight Candy Phlox, Strawberries, Raspberries, and something that looked to be mangos. Around the corner of the house to the right there was a vegetable garden with asparagus & broccoli & spinach & sweet potatoes. All grow with health despite the winter weather. To the other side there was a strange, metallic looking shed beyond the garden with no windows & an odd door.
Glancing at the shed Liliana clearly looked a quite crestfallen for a moment before attempting to gather herself together with a sniff. Her eyes then immediately glossed over the garden beds, but she saw no sign of the little gardening kit anywhere. Maybe Maree's around back? She wondered to herself as a smell of baking peach pies was just beginning to make it's way from inside.
Lily grinned at Ed. "What do you think? Cute, huh?"BlackPidgeot A bit of hope flickered across Edward's face as Liliana spoke of someone who might be able to teach him how to fly. "Really?" but he didn't get those hopes too high. "I don't know..." his doubt lacing his voice. Although it wasn't the doubt of being able to learn. He already knew the basic idea and physics that surrounded flight... it was simply enough. What bothered him was the idea that he might never be able to fly very well.
However, as they came into the clearing and upon the cottage, Edward paused. His golden gaze slowly taking in the sight of the place. From the cabin itself, to the gardens, and even the shed... committing it all to memory. It was very homely little cottage, and Edward's expression softened fondly. "Its beautiful" he remarked, and certainly meaning it. Therw as a certain, welcoming quality about this place that he could certainly appreciate. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "Really. Uncle Aear seems to enjoy playing with kits. 'specially winged ones. And since it's winter, he's home more. He doesn't sail as much once the ice starts to form."
Her tails wagged happily hearing Edward liked the house. Lily was quite fond of it herself, and had been a little afraid her friend might not like it for some strange reason. "I'm glad."
She hopped lightly up the steps, talking as she went. The scent of baking pies increased near the door. "It's a bit bigger inside than out. Okay... a lot. Maybe you can figure out with science how it works someday." Her tone was teasing as green eyes turned to catch his eyes.
Drawing her wand to open the door Liliana paused. "We've a big family... and we're not all kitsu. I hope they don't overwhelm you."Then she opened the front door onto a communal greatroom. The room was fairly large, with a vaulted ceiling overhead. In the corner to the right of the door a television was on - Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the movie of the moment. A young human boy sat in front of it, nodding his head to the music but otherwise not watching as he plays with some miniature cars. A cream & sienna jivvin drada with wings playfully tried to bat the child's cars away with a paw, flicking her ears back in delight when her human bond told her firmly "Bop! My dars!" Going to the right wall was the fireplace with a cozy fire burning brightly behind a very secure grate. Above the fireplace hung a portrait of a human woman, the young boy, & a man who was broad of shoulders & kind of face with a mischievous crooked smile to match the child's. The name "Relm Arrowny 2006" was scrolled in the lower right hand corner. Across the room were two entrances, one to a short hallway; the other into what looks like a kitchen. The scent of baking peach pies strongest that direction There is a hammock about halfway up the height of the room, with another one located higher up if one cared to look. The shadow of a blue form could just be seen weighing the higher hammock down. The left wall has but one door, which looked like it leads out to the gardens. In the floor to ceiling window to the left of the front door was a beta tank with four fish inside hung suspended four feet from the floor. There were a couple sofas as well as a dozen pillows & beanbags & cushions scattered upon the floor. A myrad of creatures lazed & played about the seats & pillows, though a few of them raced at the newcomers excitedly. "Aamha! Aamha!! Lily pelae teln Tien pelae?" From a blue-gray six inch fae. "Play!!" From a small yellow persekitty, running circles around and around, the sound of music wafting from him. "Lily!! Aear & your father went out looking for you! You had them so worried!" There were others but the last caught Liliana's attention & she turned to the pastel hued kitsu seraphim teen, her ears falling at having worried Remus at all. Catching his age-mate's chagrin the multi-winged male continued beyond that matter. "I see you brought a friend. Hello. My name is Talagand." Landing the seraphim smiled at the kit, folding his many wings over the yellow elvish writing along his sides. "Welcome to our home." BlackPidgeot Edward continued to listen with mild interest as he followed Liliana up the front steps and to the door of her household. Although he had to smirk at the mention of his science. He has his science, she has her magic... that's just how things will probably always be. However, Edward started to sniff at the air when he thought he caught the wiff of food. Her comment of her family being big, going somewhat unheard.
That is until they entered and were nearly run over my excited little chattering creatures. One of which particularly got Ed's attention.. the Seraphim. He gawked at the six winged kitsu, staring at her wings and thus replying to her polite greeting a bit late. "Aheh... I'm Edward" he finally introduced himself with a big sheepish grin.
The alchemist Kitsu then sat himself down on the floor and looked around. However... the strong smell of peach pies caught his nose again. "Man, that smells good" said he, a bit of drool hanging from the corner of his maw. If there was one thing that could rival Ed's intellect and alchemy skill... it was his ability to eat like pig! Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "Pleased to meet you, Edward. I've not really met many kitsu just my friend, Amakhi, who is a seraphim like me." Violet eyes danced. "I don't think the pies are ready yet. They just reached the tantalizing part of their baking." Liliana frowned slightly at the seraphim. He had the annoying (to her) habit of sounding much wiser than one of his age should be. The problem was... he was. Talagand never would have lost his temper to his teacher as she had that morning. The crimson teen cringed, remembering. "I'm sure there's other things we can get from the kitchen, Edward. Shush, Tien. Maybe we'll disa with you later. Play with Kiran & Caylee for now, won't you?" The kunkun stopped its until then unending chatter in kunkunese as its violet eyes caught sight of Liliana's wand still gripped in her paw. "Sek. Sek. Yureshe..." It pouted, convincing many of the other small creatures to follow & heading for the toddler & his bond. Theron was always good for new & unknown games. "I can bring you pie wherever you'll be when it's cooled enough for eating." Talagand offered, earning Lily's grateful smile. He had wisely concluded that they had not most likely come to be hounded by the mob in the greatroom. BlackPidgeot "Piiiie" Edward moaned to himself in lustful hunger of something sweet and tasty. The smell also brought back fond memories of Winry's own ability to cook, and apple pie had been one of his favorites among her usual treats. It was a shame that he was alone in this world, stuck with Mustang and Envy only. Atleast in the sense of knowing anyone from his past life. He had a new friend after all.
However, the TV soon caught his attenton and Edward was wandering towards it. Sitting infront of the moving screen, he simply stared oddly. Never had he seen such a contraption! After all... in his past life, television hadn't even been invented yet. Golden eyes darted back and forth as he watched the screen, while it played 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang."
o/~ "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang we love you! And oh, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Chitty Chitty Bang, loves us too!" o/~
What kind of thing was this? Edward got up on his hind legs and squinted at the screen closely... trying to inspect it. He poked it with a paw, finding it to be glass. He sniffed at it... feeling a slight buzz of static running over it and smelling of absolutely... nothing. o_O Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The two teen kitsu followed, both inured to the magic of the television. Theron, happily playing with cars, jivven & the small creatures did not at first notice the strange new kitsu that had wandered into his area. His area being, where ever Theron happened to be playing at the time. Seeing Edward, Theron laughed in delight. It was the only warning he gave before lunging himself at the kitsu. " 'itty! Badt! No tee-Eee off." Theron obviously thought Edward was both a cat (as he thought all kitsu were) and trying to turn the television off. "P-ay? Dease?" Liliana's eyes went round & then she sighed. What was she to do? She still had to figure out where she went wrong in her lesson that morning. BlackPidgeot Edward's eyes turned as round and large as saucers as he managed just to see a human kid come lunging at him. The kit's fur and hair raising in surprise just before he was promptly flattened to the ground! The little kitsu comicly pinned beneath a scolding little boy, while he just moaned in defeat into the floor.
A little help here? Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "Edward!" Liliana exclaimed in shock, bounding forward as her friend was pinned. Talagand flew over them all, trying to entice the toddler's attention elsewhere. Theron undaunted pet the helpless kit, grinning broadly & not the least bit distracted. Mommy senses tingling, Trelweny peeked her head out of the kitchen just as a blue tartan-patterned audio male with blue & gold faerie wings swooped down from the highest hammock to gather the human toddler in his arms. Golden eyes glanced at the human mother, asking a silent question. "oh Thank you, Aiden! I don't know what I'd do without you. Amaryllis & I are still cleaning up from baking..." She talked as she walked over to take her son from the family's resident patriarch (at least as far as family responsibility was concerned) "...would you mind..." "Helping th' wee lassie finish? Nae Trelweny-lass. I' wouldnae be a bother." Arms now free the Highlander Audio reached down to help Edward up. "Are ye a'right, laddie?" Trel's mouth opened in a little 'o' as she saw Edward. "Oh!! I'm sorry!" BlackPidgeot Practicly being sat on by a toddler who was larger than himself. OMG WHAT CRUEL FATE. Edward was being petted, much to his annoyance. However, there was little else he could do but just lay there... until the weight was finally lifted off him. Peeling himself off the floor, the kit sat up and rubbed his head with a paw. "I'm alright" he assured anyone who might be at all concerned about his wellfare. He might be small... but he was pretty resilient! Although now his braided hair as a bit of a mess due to gropping toddler fingers. Blonde strands sticking out here and there. But even still, the kit wore a grin and laughed lightly, looking towards the human boy. "He's got a lot of energy, doesn't he?"Not to mention he's pretty darn strong and heavy for a two year old! D: Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Trelweny chuckled, looking relieved. "He's his late daddy's strength. It's hard to get him to know it." In fact, the little man was squirming in his mother's grasp as she spoke, beseeching her with entreaties of "down. me down" and "P-ay!" Swinging her own honey colored braid back over her shoulder and momentarily away from her son's reach Trel added. "I can re-braid those for you if you like Edward." A soft smile. "It's so nice to have guests. A gentle hand on her shoulder, and Aiden whispered gently in the human's ear. "Ye did it agin, lassie." Trel blinked at the audio in surprise as he nodded to their kit guest with a quiet "Glad yer a'right, laddie. Take care" before heading into the kitchen. A snort came from the hallway, a black skinned elf in mint colored witch's hat and short dress leaning against the wall & staring at them all pointedly. "Let Liliana cast a spell to fix his hair. I don't want you hoisting your bundle of energy at me, now the highlander is in the kitchen." Trelweny managed to look sheepish. "I can do it, you know." Liliana was much calmer now that she knew her friend was all right... and not upset. "Do ya still want to hang around, Edward?"BlackPidgeot Edward could be fairly long suffering if he needed/wanted to be. And well... he can't really blame the little boy for being... well... a little boy. He watched with a bemused expression as the lady held the squirming kid, and tossed her hair. Again, he couldn't help but be reminded of past memories... Trelweny reminding him of his own mother. As she offered to fix his hair, that grin appeared again, "Its okay, I can do it!" he assured her with a waving of his paws. Although really... it was hard to braid when all you had was paws. But he wasn't going to admit that. His attention turning to Liliana and her question, he was quiet for a moment, giving her a soft smile. He appreciated her looking out for him, as many a kitsu might feel uncomfortable in such a chaotic enviroment. Although really... being in the company of this family felt somewhat...comforting to him. "Its alright... I kinda like it here." ((cont: page 4034)) Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "Hmph! Good." Ignoring the GaiaCom Trelweny smiled down at their guest even as Liliana gave a surprised "Really?" "I'm glad. You're welcome anytime." Talagand nodded, landing & fluffing his wings as Trel shifted Theron to her other hip. "Since Ginny's out we're not really having a full family meal tonight, but you're welcome to help yourself to anything... though I'd wait a bit on the pies since they're not even out of the oven yet." "Pie pie!" "Hush love. After a bath & some supper." To Edward again. "I'm Trelweny. My son, Theron DeVon, you've met -as it were. I'd love to introduce you to everyone but..." She gave a glance around the room and many of those present laughed. Even the witch Myranda snorted with some mirth. "That could take a while." "Pelae disa?" Tien piped up hopefully. Trel giggled. "I've got to get Theron ready for bed. It was nice meeting you, Edward. Feel free to visit anytime." Her green eyes got a glassy look, as if her mind was picking up on something without her knowing it. "He sha'n't be able to reach you here, the one with green hair." She blinked shaking her head to clear it then smilingn again. "Oh! I need to get Theron in the tub! Tien, Bozi? Whyn't you come along?" She waved cheerfully as she took the child down the hallway, the kunkun & a small faerie anubii trailing happily after her -as did 3 small mushroom-type creatures, gleefully repeating the human's last word. Liliana & Talagand exchanged a glance. "So, um, what would you like to do, Edward?" "I'll grab you something to eat while you decide." The seraphim added with a wink before he flew off in the direction of the kitchen. BlackPidgeot As surprising as it may seem, Edward was comfortable here. They were all so kind, and while there was a lot of them... and it was chaotic... Edward couldn't help but feel a bit at home. The kit's attention remained mostly on Trelweny as she spoke, his ears turned forward. The little kitsu still wearing his mischevious, cheesy grin. However, that faded fron him face as something odd happened. She mentioned that the green haired one won't be able to reach him here. This surprised him quite a bit. "Envy..." How did she know about him? He was left speechless as the lady wandered off to do whatever needed to be done. His perplexed gaze then turned to Liliana and Talagand. What would he like to do? "Um..." and then his stomach growled. The kit covering his belly with his paws, "Aheh." Food would definitely be good... he was starving! "Whatever you want to do" Ed replied. He was still new here after all... and his eyes strayed toward the TV again. Odd thing, that box with the people inside of it, was. Remembering his messy hair, Ed reached a paw back to undo the braid. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana tilted her head at Edward. "Envy? Why would you envy anyone, Edward?" She did not know that he referred to a kitsu, nor understand that he might be confused with the human's strange ways. After all, Liliana had grown up with Trelweny since an egg -she was accustomed to the human woman's occasional inadvertent slips into others' minds & emotions. To her that was just Trel. Just as she did not grasp the kit's fascination with the television. "Well... I really should see about trying that Drought of the Living Dead again; see where I went wrong. But you don't have to do that with me, if you'd rather hang out here." There was a slight catch in her throat as she said this, and her green eyes flicked around the room. On one hand paw she would like her friend to join her, but on the other she wanted to work on it alone. Just then Talagand returned, laden with a basked of foodstuffs from the kitchen clutched in his mouth. His flight path wobbled a bit from the heavy basket but his violet eyes danced with delight. BlackPidgeot Blinking confusedly at Lili's question about envying someone, he then laushed a little. "I don't... Nevermind, its nothing." No need to bother her with such things, after all. Especially if the green haired sin couldn't get here... and he did doubt that he could find the place. However, Envy was a rather resourceful Kitsusagi, and he would probably find him one way or another. Be it here or somewhere else. It was likely only a matter of time before he faced him again. There seemed to be a lot of things they didn't understand about each other. And this 'Drought of the Living Dead' was one of them, as Edward just stared at her blankly. That sounded... rather forboding, if not morbid. "Drought of the Living Dead?" he asked, clearly confused and not knowing what she would mean by any such thing. However, his attention soon turned t Talagand as he emerged from the kitchen with a basket of food. Ooo. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "Eat up! I got a little bit of everything. At least, what I wouldn't have to cook. Ginny left some great meat pasties from lunch. They taste great room temperature & of course the fruit's fresh, bread's yesterday's baking though." Talagand spouted cheerfully as he set the basket on the ground. "It's just a sleep potion, really. I just had some trouble with it this morning, that's all." Liliana gave an faux indifferent shrug, trying to conceal how much it really bothered her to have made a mistake. Especially to have made a mistake & not known it. Her green eyes glanced to the door alone on the north wall. "Do you mind if I try the potion again while you eat? Talagand can find the right room for you to find me later." BlackPidgeot Edward's eyes got big again as he saw the food. He didn't need to be told twice! The kit practicly floated over to the basket, his eyes sparkling with delight and barely restrained hunger. However, he managed to hold back long enough to glance back at Liliana as she continued to speak. He couldn't help but blink a bit in surprise. A potion? Hm.. well he knew quite a bit about alchemy, as well as traditional chemistry. Perhaps he could lend her a paw later. "Not all!" he chimed, before diving into the basket and rather noisily started scarffing down the food. Nomnomnom. Ravenous little bugger, isn't he? Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana was so relieved she bounded forward, touching Ed's head with her nose. "Oh! Thanks, Edward!! I'll be in the potions room, Tal! Wish me luck!" And with a flick of white & gold tails she set off for the northern door, throwing it open & disappearing inside before Talagand could even open his mouth to reply. Not that he could think of one. His violet eyes were wide, watching the kit eat the contents of the basket. A yawn from what would have been mistaken as a gray pillow preceded the opening of one red eye as the tyuri Jezebel sleepily took in the sight of their visitor. [Didn't think anything could eat more than Shippou.] With another yawn she curled back up into a ball, looking like a pillow once more. Everyone but the HouseCats shared surprised glances -Jezebel had moved. Meanwhile Lily was hard at work, being extra careful in her measuring of her ingredients & fighting with cutting the sopophorous beans for the juice she needed. ((cont: page 4099)) BlackPidgeot He was a growing kit! Edward needed his nutrients if he was going to get big and tall. Nevermind that he still refused to drink milk. Nasty, stupid cow juice! The kit devoured the basket contents, not seeming to care that he might look like quite a pig. He'd always had a very large appetite. Eventually though, his stomach full, Edward had finished. Ahh.. yes. It was so good to feel full and happy! Giving a quick word of thanks, Edward bounded off... or tried to anyway, going to the door that Liliana had disappeared behind. Only to find... that it wouldn't open? He frowned a bit, deciding it would probably be rude to use alchemy on their doors. He threw a look over his shoulder and called back at Talagand, "Hey... could you take me to where Liliana is?" Such a boy.. not even remembering to say please. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf ((*huggles* no! That's okies! I forgot I hadn't mentioned it! There's a huge description in my journal describing the house & the door & such. Door's really kind of a mix of magics. *thinks* now that I think about it, I don't think I remembered to put the sheilds info into any of my journals. O_o I will remedy that later.))"Edward no!!" A few of the more intelligent pets looked up in surprise as well, their eyes wide. The Seraphim teen flew after the kit but he was too slow - or he had momentarily lost attention. Edward had already opened the door. A flutter could be heard from high overhead as Aiden made his way down from his hammock perch. Talagand looked over the kit, an expression of worry in his violet eyes. What would he have found upon opening the magical door? Did Edward have a clear idea in his head of what he wanted to find? Frantically Talagand wondered who had been in one of the rooms the longest, fearing it was the Weasley Twins. Violet eyes blinked in surprise. Somehow the kit had done it. There was Liliana, frantically stirring away at her cauldron, book opened as she muttered to herself. The room was fairly plain with simple but sturdy windows. There was a storage alcove off to one side lined with ingredients. Desks at various heights were placed evenly throughout the room. The Seraphim spoke softly, voice in awe. "I guess thinking of Liliana in the potions room was enough for the door's magic to pick the right place. You're very fortunate, Edward." He fluttered, hovering, overhead. ((was going to have it open onto an alchemist's potions room... but realized 1-I don't know if they have them 2-dunno what they look like if they do.)) Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "Edward no!!" A few of the more intelligent pets looked up in surprise as well, their eyes wide. The Seraphim teen flew after the kit but he was too slow - or he had momentarily lost attention. Edward had already opened the door. A flutter could be heard from high overhead as Aiden made his way down from his hammock perch. "I guess thinking of Liliana in the potions room was enough for the door's magic to pick the right place. You're very fortunate, Edward." He fluttered, hovering, overhead. BlackPidgeot Fpr a moment, Edward looked alarmed as various voices shouted towards him and then the Seraphim spoke of how fortunate he was. The kit merely blinking in surprise and confusion, eventually creasing a brow and giving an uncertain smirk. "If you say so..." Had seemed like an ordinary door to him after all... the alchemist knew nothing of their magical world. The blissfully ignorant kit wandered into the room where Liliana was stirring away... glancing this way and that but his attention soon focused on the girl Kitsusagi and her cauldron.
"Heh... looks like a witch's house" he said jokingly, eventually coming up beside her and sniffing quietly. What on earth was she doing? In his sort of alchemy, Edward didn't dabble in potions, but he had a knowledge of chemistry. However, the crimson elixir had always been at the forefront of his mind in his past life. In otherwords, the Philosopher's stone or the red fluid that could theoreticly be formed into one. Still those thoughts drifted into his mind occasionally. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Lily looked up at Edwards voice, the frown on her face fading for a brief moment "Well... I am a witch." Mixed blood, perhaps, but definately a witch. "Eat well?" She asked -fairly sweetly for her. Curious at that, Talagand followed the alchemist kit into the room. Usually the seraphim stayed away from the stench of potions & the stuffy feeling of the rooms the wizards usually created for them. "Doesn't look anything like the Weasleys' Workshop." He murmured softly, mostly to himself. The crimson witch's feathers ruffled and Talagand shot her an apologetic look. Of course her room would not look anything like Fred & George's. They were smart -maybe even geniuses- but they were often careless & certainly messy. Or at least that was how others got to see their workspace. Her frown returned as she stirred the potion in her cauldron. It was still a shade of light purple & she had been stirring it all this while. Casting a spell to continue stirring it, Liliana set about making another batch. BlackPidgeot "Oh... right..." Edward said with his sheepish grin. That's right, her and her magic. Although, he did have to admit that this place just... felt.. rather odd. Not to mention odd things seemed to happen in this house as well... the kit staring as he watched the potion stir itself. "Err... yeah" he replied distractedly, "It was really good." He seemed just a mite disturbed, but shook it off. "What are you doing?" His curiousity having been piqued even if he was a little weirded out. He said nothing of the slight tense moment between Lili and the Seraphim, Edward seating himself next to the cauldron as he merely watched her mill about. "I hope you won't be offended if I think this is all really strange." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Talagand snickered softly to himself that their guest thought their home strange. He had been learning all he could -watching & reading- so knew that there were other ways of living than theirs. The seraphim rather liked all the magic about. Liliana looked up from slicing yet another been after seeing that its juice -piddle-y amount that it was- filled the required measurement before pouring it in. The mixture turned deep purple as it aught. "I'm trying to figure out what went wrong with my potion in my lesson this morning." The seraphim blinked. "Your potion went wrong? But your potions never go wrong." Green eyes glared at Talagand "Oh, go do some of your harpering somewhere Tal."Chastised, the pastel male fluttered to a window and looked out over the gardens below thoughtfully. BlackPidgeot "Hey, c'mon.. its not his fault" Edward said gently, as the Seraphim got chastised. The kit's gaze continuing to watch Liliana intently as she busied herself. Standing up on his hindlegs, he peered into the cauldron, wrinkling his nose at the odor. If it had one that is. "A potion, huh? Well if its anything like chemistry, maybe I could help." Edward didn't know anything about magic.. but he knew about basic principles and laws. If that could be of any use. Atleast he was offering! Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The seraphim's heart lifted at Edward's rally to his defense & his "kin's" resulting look of apology. Lily started to stir the new potion counterclockwise as the harper started to hum softly. "Well, it might be. I don't know much about chemistry..." She slid the book over to him so Edward could read it if he wished. "Usually it's just a matter of following the directions. Proper ingredients, proper measurements, proper timing." She sighed heavily, watching her potion very slowly shift from deep purple to a lighter shade. Very slowly. "Only this time it doesn't seem to be working for me. And I had so wanted to impress Professor Snape this morning too..." Liliana sighed again. BlackPidgeot "Sounds about the same" Edward admitted, his golden eyes looking over the words in the book as it was slid over to him, trying to make sense of whatever the instructions said. "Everything has a flow, and a specific direction. Chemistry and alchemy both, and I'm sure your potions aren't that different. Everything has to heed to some sort of law or equivalent exchange." The kit seemed to be talking to himself as much as to Liliana, mulling things over in his mind. "You can spend hours drawing a transmutation circle, so that its just right." He seemed a bit obsessed with his alchemy, but no less could be said for Lilianna and her magic, surely. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf ((Problem is... this potion is not exactly clear in any of the references I've found for what is written in the book only the "fixes" are spelled out clearly. *makes face* That's why it didn't work -the book is wrong. *laughs* Poor Lily told Sev that in anger, but she doesn't know why it's wrong or how to fix it. Don't worry. I've got plans. Just let Ed be Ed. I'm not good making up measurements of ingredients but I'll try to get the just of the potion out. If you think he would... maybe he could hand her a silver dagger? wink It would not be near her, maybe on a shelf along the wall.)) Add asphodel to the infusion of wormwood. Chop up Valerian root. Add the juice from a sopophorous bean. Will create a bluish steam. Halfway point the potion with be a black-currant in colour. Stir counterclockwise until it turns lilac, then clear as water when finished. The instructions read with measurements noted where expected. From reading the instructions and watching Liliana it was clear she was following them exactly. Talagand opened the window, letting the blue steam drift out into the crisp night air. Liliana blinked at Edward as she stoppered her first attempt into a vial now that it was finally in the clear stage to test it later. Fred & George owed her after all. "I... suppose that makes sense." She did not seem too sure though, but perhaps it was just the anxiety from not getting the potion right yet. BlackPidgeot Again the kit wrinkled his nose as he caught a wiff of the pungent brew. "Ugh.. no wonder it smells so bad. You've got wormwood and valerian root in there. I've seen those used before." Or he had in his past life, anyway... those memories starting to infuse with his current ones. The kit decided to wander away and look at the rest of the igredients. Climbing onto the shelving and what not to inspect them. "It looks like you're doing everything right" he continued, "According to the book." The kit making a point to stay away from the vapors pouring out of the cauldron. "But sometimes you need something more than just the math and calculations, or even instructions." After all, Edward would know all about that. He then laughed, "Can't you atleast put something in there to make it smell better?" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana made a face as she considered his suggestion. "If I wasn't trying to see where I went wrong I'd be willing to try something else. Peppermint maybe. Not sure what it would do here though. I really can't chance it..."The seraphim had now turned around and was facing the other two kitsu. He had picked up a small silver dagger from the nearby shelf & was playing with it in the light from the stars that flickered through the window. Remus' daughter blanched seeing it for what it was. "Talagand! No silver!" Talagand -startled- bungled the blade and it fell onto the sopophorous beans. Liliana stepped back as if it was she & not her father that would react to the silver. "Shells, Lily! I'm sorry!" Flying over to fetch it the seraphim set his paw down on the knife. The pressure was enough to push the flat of the blade against one of the wrinkled beans. Juice welled from it. Both Liliana & Talagand stared. "Um... how did that shriveled old bean have that much juice inside?" "I don't know. I've never gotten that much out of one before... it's more than the size of the bean even." She glanced at Edward. "What was that you were saying about equivalent exchange?" Her question was earnest & held no trace of anything other than a true desire to understand. "Maybe this was the "something more than just the math and calculations" Edward mentioned." Talagand looked even more confused. BlackPidgeot There we go... peppermint! That would have been lovely, if not for the fact that it might have messed up Liliana's potion. Edward eventually came back to Liliana and the book, peering intently at its pages once more. "What is this supposed to make anyway? Isn't valerian root a sleep inducer, and wormwood for indigestion?" o_O Seemed like an odd combination didn't it? Sitting and frowning, he wondered if he could use a little wormwood, as he thought he might have eaten a bit much. e_e Oh well.
However, the kit blinked and looked towards the Seraphim as Lili called out. No silver? Whatever for? He stepped closer to the dropped blade as Liliana recoiled from it. The sudden question from her as the knife cut a bean and caused it to leak its fluids, surprised him. "Uh... its alchemy's first principle. To obtain, something of equal value must first be lost. Why?" He didn't quite get where Liliana was going with this, not understanding the significance of the beans and silver dagger. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "It's a sleep potion." Liliana intoned automatically, her voice stuck in an odd monotone slowly moving about as if in a trance to start a new potion in a new cauldron with the new development. She measured the infusion of wormwood, measured the asphodel, measured & sliced the valerian roots. Black-currant liquid, blue smoke. She nodded accustomed to this. Then looking at the silver blade beneath Talagand's paw Liliana took it, cleaned it, and brought the flat of the blade down on another one of the beans where she could easily collect & the juice. More juice than could possibly be inside the shriveled bean exuded from it. Liliana measured, smiled with a nod & showed the amount to Edward. "I don't see what I've lost of equal value to produce this. I don't even see how rationally it worked. But it did." She was not trying to disprove or prove anything. Liliana was too focused on her task for anything so trivial. Plus, she really was intrigued with the notion -if she could get around her potion. Liliana poured the juice into the potion, gasping with surprise and delight as it instantly turned a shade of lilac identical to the one described in Advanced Potion-Making. BlackPidgeot As she sliced the valerian root, Edward covered his nose, eyes tearing up a bit. Ugh. x_x Horrid horrid stuff. However, he then watched in quiet and almost stunned silence as she showed the bean to him and it seemed to do the trick this time around.
He then sat back once more and grinned, glad to see that she finally managed to get the potion right. Seems that he was able to be of some help after all! Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Glad to see the clearly more studious pair smiling Talagand began to sing softly. Some new song he was tuning; 4/4 time, every 8th beat accented. It seemed to fit the mood of the room. Grinning, Lily jotted down the thing about the silver dagger in her book. She just would not make this potion around her father, that was all. Hopefully she would not have much occasion to make it in the future -she was bloody tired of it. She hopped towards Edward and gave him a quick hug before turning to stir the potion counterclockwise. "Thanks!" Lily murmured in that brief moment, not realizing her turns started with Talagand's downbeat. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8! Liliana jolted as she reacted to the harper's song with a clockwise turn where she was supposed to be stirring the other direction. "Talagand!" She exclaimed petulantly, thinking that she had ruined her potion after it had been going so well -despite the book's obviously less than perfect instructions. As Talagand ducked his head in shame, neither he nor the witch saw that the potion had immediately upon the 8th stir -the clockwise stir- turned a shade of palest pink. Exactly as the book said the potion should become on its way to clear. "Lil, I'm so sorry..." The seraphim's ears drooped. He liked to mediate problems, not cause them. Usually he & Liliana got along so well. BlackPidgeot Well Edward wasn't at all bothered by the song, although his attention wasn't on it for long as Liliana came over and hugged him. A look of shock on his face, as his cheeks quickly turned pink in a blush. That cheesy grin splitting his muzzle as he lifted paw to rub the back of his head, where his hair was still a mess, "Sure!"
However, things seemed to go wrong as Liliana was distracted by the singing and managed to stir the incorrect amount of times in that one direction. The alchemist watching in fascination as it turned a pink color, although he had already read that it was supposed to turn clear. "Why is it turning pink?" Obviously.. that extra stir must have triggered a different reaction? Did it make the potion completely useless or turn the reaction in a different direction? Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf About to berate the seraphim verbally Liliana stopped, mouth open to stare at the full metal alchemist. "It turned what?" Her voice was barely a whisper & incredulous. Slowly she looked at the liquid. Her eyes widened and a wild delight made her green eyes glow with warmth. "It lightened! it really lightened!" Lily repeated like a chant, still barely louder than breathing. "Talagand! What was your beat!" Stunned at her sudden out burst (again) the harper blinked his violet eyes, his violet pendant swaying as he recoiled. "Wh-what?"Lily waved her paw & shook her head as if he should get it. "The beat! The beat! Where was the heavy one?"Talagand stared at her as if she was crazy. Although the winged daughter of Remus liked music, she had never been one to know much about it or pay much attention to it. That she was now perplexed the harper. "eh.. the 8th..." Immediately Liliana returned to her caldron, flashing Edward a jubilant yet anxiously expectant & hopeful smile. "Count it won't you, Tal?" He obeyed, staring intently with eyes wide as the witch stirred once counterclockwise for each beat. Except the 8th, when she stirred clockwise. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8Liliana held her breath. As it turned an even lighter shade she exhaled, the look of jubilation surpassing all other feelings on her face. Again she stirred, repeating the sequence two more times -each one leaving the potion paler than the last. When it turned clear as water Liliana spun & hugged Edward, spun around to hug Talagand, then hugged her friend once more. "Edward! We did it! We did it!! Thank you!"Talagand continued to look at her as if she were crazy, but he smiled to. ((cont: page 4114)) BlackPidgeot Edward was somewhat perplexed for a moment as well, but then was grinning again as it seemed that this was the desired effect! The kit leaned in close, golden eyes watching with true interest as the potion turned lighter and lighter with each round of stirring, and then became completely clear. Well how about that. Inwardly, his heart lept with the thrill of success, just as Liliana jumped him again for another hug.
This time, he hugged her back, the kit sweatdropping a bit and his cheeks turning pink yet again. Then there was a second hug! "You're welcome, although it was all you, really." After all, he couldn't take any credit for Liliana's work, all he'd done was observe and drop a few suggestions here and there. Still, the kit was just as excited as she was, he just tried to express it in a more manly way. His tails wagging back and forth in his glee, glad to see Liliana happy more than anything. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana was grinning & shaking her head. "Oh no! If you weren't here, I doubt Talagand would have been either. I would've been stuck doing the potion over & over and over never thinking that I should stray from the instructions!" Oh... would she have questions for the potions master in the morning!! Remus' eldest daughter was surprisingly cheerful and giddy as she stoppered her perfect Drought of Living Death & packed it carefully away with the others, never ceasing in her talking. "I knew the book had to be wrong somehow!! I just knew it!! Her "brother" watched her with wide eyes having never seen this aspect of Liliana -not even when they were kits. "I think she means it, Edward."BlackPidgeot Edward just smiled, certainly glad to be of some use. A glance given to Talagand as he spoke up and the kit flicked an ear. "I'm glad I could help!" The grinning alchemist jumping down from his perch, before glancing back to his newfound friend. "So what now?" That was the question wasn't it? Was she done with her homework? Speaking of home... his ears tilted back, wondering if he should be getting back to the Realm Headquarters by now. Setsumi might be wondering where he was. As far as Roy... he could go burry himself. D: The colonel probably hadn't even noticed he was missing anyway. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The crimson colored teen flicked her gold tipped ears as her tails swished behind her. "I don't know! I thought I'd be up all night with that." As she pondered thoughtfully Talagand piped up. "You could show him the library or ask if he'd like a guest room. It might be late for him." This was the seraphim's gentle way of reminding that while he & Liliana were teens, Edward was still a kit and as such might need more sleep. Not that their "cousin" Doron was a good frame of comparison. If Chroma's kit was not playing wildly like his mother he was instantly asleep like his father. Lily glanced at her friend. "What would you like to do, Edward? I can always aparate you back to headquarters whenever you'd like." Of course if he would rather walk -or fly- back she planned on accompanying him. She could aparate home easily enough once they were there. BlackPidgeot Well then, this whole ordeal was quite the time saver wasn't it! It was a good thing that he had come along, it seems. Edward's ears twitched as he caught the reference to his younger age. While he did scowl a bit, he said nothing. Hmph! He might be still a kit but he didn't need sleep!
Edward then sat back and opened his maw in a wide yawn. Dammit!
Tilting an ear back to Liliana, he blinked at her question. "Uh!" He quickly lifted a paw and waved it, "No no, that's okay! I can walk back." He didn't feel entirely comfortable with the idea of apparation or aparating or whatever it was. Disappearing from one place and appearing somewhere else... how could you be sure you'd arrive in one piece?! As far as flying.. that was out of the question, since he... couldn't. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "Then I'll go with you." Liliana proclaimed. "And Tal too." The pastel teen started to protest but Lily waggled her wand at him. "Uh-uh. If I need to get out more, so do you. And if you'll keep those multi-wings of yours folded back I can aparate us home." Finished cleaning up her supplies Liliana smiled at Edward as her "brother" resigned with mock-despair. He really would not mind getting out a bit. "Would you like to have a peek at the library first, or would you rather get back?"The young witch stifled a small yawn herself. She had been up since before dawn after all. BlackPidgeot "Okay" Ed replied cheerfully, then perking up a bit at the mention of the library. "The library would be great." After all, in his past life, the little alchemist had his nose in an alchemy book almost constantly when he was young. You could never learn too much. He had to wonder what kind of library they had. Undoubtably it probably had a lot about their magic, but he could deal with that.
The kit laughed lightly at the words spoken between the two, "It must be a pain to have six wings, but atleast you can fly." Those words directed at Talagand. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Lily fair skipped. She did not fly much, her wings being fairly small. "Okay! Back out!" She was implying to the door, not literally backing out of the room but she was too excited as she slipped on her bag with all her potions & things inside & went out the door to notice. Talagand flew overhead so that they could all leave the room that much quicker. "I guess. It was a little difficult for Uncle AearHwesta to try & teach me, but a lot of it is instinctive. I just know where my wings are and they get me there." He smiled in a friendly way. "Flying's great. Why don't you fly more, Edward? You've the right size wings for your age. There shouldn't be anything holding you up."BlackPidgeot With a fond smile on his muzzle, Edward followed after the overly excited Liliana, to wherever she might lead. However, the kit's ears tilted back as Talagand asked why he didn't fly more. "I never have... I can't." The kit pressing the feathered appendages to his back. "Its the automail, it makes me too heavy." To illustrate this point, assuming that the seraphim probably didn't even know what automail was, he paused to pull off his glove. Exposing the metallic paw beneath. "My right arm and left leg are both mechanical." He then was following after Liliana again, his paw lightly clinking on the floor as he went. After he'd thought about it, it didn't take Edward long to figure out the reason behind his inability to fly. He had tried to, after all.

Library & trip home page 4025Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana had been waiting for the boys to get through the doorway so she could shut it and open it again but she faltered in shutting it to see her friend's mechanical arm. Green eyes widened in surprise. "They're metal? Does it hurt?" Curious too, Talagand nonetheless remembered to shut the door behind them. "Mechanical arms would definately make you heavier. But maybe you just need some wing exercises to get them strong enough to carry the weight." The seraphim liked to look on the bright side of things & try to reach solutions. Perhaps this could be one? As he spoke Talagand reopened the same door they had come out of onto an entirely different room. Inside was a huge classic library that could not possibly fit into what could be seen from the front of the house. The walls were floor to ceiling with books of every sort lining them except for long, thin floor to raised ceiling windows evenly spaced throughout. The windows looked thin more from their height then their width, which is enough for an average human to sit in the window seat below each with their legs pulled up to rest a book on their knees while they took on a view of the ever-blooming gardens outside. The embers of a fire flickered in a grated fireplace in front of a loveseat & a pair of large wingback armchairs, all in soft but elegant leather. Each chair was just large enough for two humans to curl into while the loveseat could easily fit up to four. Liliana pranced into the room -surprised her father was not back yet- & turned to see Edward's reaction. BlackPidgeot Does it hurt? "Naw..." although they were hard on his little body, being so heavy and all. "My nerve endings are connected to them. That's how they work. If they need to be removed, reconnecting the nerves -does- hurt" he admitted, the kit giving a wince in recollection of that. However, he had no mechanic in this world. He was lucky that Squall was able to fix the minor damages from his last encounter with Envy. There was a slightly sad look in his eyes as these thoughts led to Winry. But soon it vanished as the door reopened.
What Edward saw made his jaw drop, practicly hitting the floor. He ran through the door into the middle of the room. The kit turning about to view the entirety of the enormous room. How did they do these sorts of things! It went against all natural principles and laws... there's no way this place could fit in such a small house However, the site of so many books also enthralled him. "Wow..." the kit wondering if they even had any books on alchemy within the massive library. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana waved her white and gold tails happily as she watched her friend. "Glad it doesn't hurt, but you like?" She was concerned over the sad look that had crossed his face but seeing Edward enthralled now paled that in comparison. "Myranda gets us new books when we think of them, so the selections constantly changing." As Talagand entered the room & shut the door she hopped over to the science section, the books looking less read than those in the larger magic section. Those on alchemy were kind of between. "I bet with science stuff you'd like these."BlackPidgeot "Yeah..." Edward told Liliana in awe as he continued to look over the room, feeling somewhat at home in a place like this. As Talagand pointed out that he might like a certain section of books, Edward was soon to join him. His eyes scanning over the titles in amazement. They certainly did have books on alchemy! Metal paw reached out and pulled one from the shelf. It was entitled, 'Introduction to Alchemy', and he let it fall open on the floor. The book was turned to a specific page, where there was an illustration of a very basic transmutation circle.
He stared at it for a long time... the kit suddenly having one of his flashbacks. He saw a suit of armor, his brother, holding the book infront of him. "Look brother, Introduction to Alchemy. Takes you back, doesn't it?" His mind then recalling all the times he and Al had spent pouring over that one book as children, learning everything they could about alchemy. Just so they could make their mother smile. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Lily & Tal blinked. No one ever dropped books in their family. Not even the twins. The female padded over to her friend, worried at the look he had about him. "Edward? You okay?BlackPidgeot Edward blinked, seeming to snap out of his reverie as soon as Liliana spoke to him. However, that sad look seemed to have returned. "Huh?" He looked at his friend in confusion, then grinned, "Sorry about that, I guess I was thinking about something." The kit bending down to scoop up the book, which was actually pretty large compared to his little form. Erk.. heavy. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Both smiled at him. "Here. Let us help you with that." Talagand blinked at Lily, clearly wondering how they would all fit around a book though he did try to help. "You looked a lot like Trelweny does when she's thinking about the past." He meant 'when thinking about her dead mate' but thought that was a little rough for the moment. BlackPidgeot With both of their help, Edward managed to get the book back into its place. "Did I?" the kit asked, seeming to just laugh off the matter, and make it look like no big deal. There was no need to get them concerned over him. "What other kinds of books do you have around here?" he asked, moving away from the alchemy section. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf They dropped the subject, sharing a glance. If Edward wanted to tell them then he would. "Just about everything, I think. I've not read many, since I've been studying my magic. Daddy reads more than I have and even he's not read them all. Trel likes fiction, so there's a whole section for that."BlackPidgeot Still seeming a bit distracted, Ed nodded, "This place is amazing." And surely it was, he can't ever remember seeing so many books like this before. Central Library had a vast collection, but that place didn't look quite as grand as this one. He then sat, seeming to have run out of things to say at the moment, letting out a sigh. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "It's a bit overwhelming. Seeing it for the first time." Talagand looked at the kit with concern while Liliana tried to comprehend that idea. She spent most of her life growing up in here. But then she remembered Relm audio's friend & his reaction the the library. He had been enthralled too. She nudged Edward gently with her nose. "You can always come back. Or tell me books you're wanting to read & I can get them for you." BlackPidgeot He wasn't trying to worry them.. infact he was trying to avoid it. The kit grinned brightly as Liliana offered to let him come back whenever he wanted. "Thanks a lot, Lili." He then stood and stretched, before yawning once more. He certainly was getting tired, "I should probably get back home" he muttered, rubbing his eyes with a paw. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana smiled. "Let's get you back." The seraphim got out before the female could. She would have shot Talagand with a look if she was not still feeling so good. "Yeah. It's a ways back. Wouldn't want any of us getting too tired on the way there."Her words were accentuated by a yawn that she tried to cover up even in her surprise. Tal snickered, leading the way to the door & opening it up. BlackPidgeot Mustering a smile, glad that they both agreed to go with him, Edward followed as they lead the way out. He'd gone a bit quiet, as he often did when he had those flashbacks. Memories of his past life, which could come to him when he least expected it. ((cont: page 4223)) Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Liliana walked through the snow with her friend. Above them Talagand flew with the graceful ease of one more than comfortable in the air. The seraphim hummed happily but it made his "cousin" curious. "Why is your metal so heavy, Edward? Why isn't made of a lighter metal? BlackPidgeot Edward padded alongside Liliana, the kit seemingly in deep thought until her words snapped him out of it. He looked to her and smiled faintly. "If it was too light, it would be easier to break." He then laughed lightly, as he thought of Winry.. and how irate she would be with him if he ever broke it. "Something like aluminum, although lighter, is not as durable as steel. I had the best mechanic make these for me, this is as good as it gets." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf The crimson furred teen sighed. "Too bad there's no mithril. Trel often reads about a place where that metal exists sometimes. It's supposedly light but nigh indestructible." The pastel seraphim spoke up before breaking into a song in a hauntingly different language. "My name comes from a language in those books."Liliana had a thoughtful look on her face. "You know... maybe there is such a metal... maybe we could find it..." She wanted to see her friend fly. BlackPidgeot Edward tilted his head as he listened to the two speak. He' never considered finding an alternate metal for his automail. But then again.. the world of his memories didn't have such things. But maybe.. this world did? "Maybe..." he said thoughtfully, wondering where they could find such metal. "But I don't have a mechanic who could make the automail." The work required precision and experience... no ordinary person or Kitsusagi could do it. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Both frowned at that realization. "I'd not thought about that. Our Rikku -she's an audio- she can work with machines that she calls machina but she can't combine them with something living." Remus' eldest daughter winced at the thought of her sudo-sister being asked to try such a thing & shook her head as she watched the steps she made in the snow with her gold tipped paws. "We could still search for the metal. Then if ever someone showed up who could make your automail turned up we'd have it and you could fly." Talagand did an aerial flip then settled back into forward flying again. "New kitsu show up all the time. Maybe one will be a mechanic like what you'd need."BlackPidgeot A lightbulb seemed to go off over Edward's head as his expression changed to one of realization. "Or maybe... if I could understand the nature of the metal, I could transmute it." It was certainly worth the investigation... although he would have to be careful. It would do not good to mess up his only set of automail with no mechanic around. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Lily's green eyes lit up. "Oh!! That would be wonderful to see! I can start to do research on it tomorrow if you want!" She bounded happily on their path, wings fluttering in her excitement & buoying her short distances once more. The other teen chuckled at her antics -it was so rare to see Liliana so playful. He was glad she had found a friend. "Once you know the nature, perhaps you could try it out on a small sample first & we can see if it is mithril."Almost as one the two teens yawned. Then they looked at each other & blinked before bursting out with laughter. "Guess it's a good thing we're so near the shop." Talagand only nodded, his laughter making his flight a little wobbly. BlackPidgeot Edward's eyes lit up at Liliana's offer, and he nodded, "That would be great, Lili." Her research would certainly help a great deal. The kit then looked up at the Seraphim and nodded again, "That's what I was thinking." Blinking in surprise as the two of them yawned, he joined in their laughter as they came upon the HQ. It felt great to have friends, Kitsus that he could depend on. Coming to the doorstep, Edward was certainly in higher spirits upon his return than his departure. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "Then it's settled. I'll start studying those books that mention it tomorrow after my homework for the day is done." The young witch was certainly in a better mood than she had been at the start of the evening. Talagand would have said she was downright giddy. Wisely he simply nodded at Edward. "Hmmm... I really should visit here more often than I do." The seraphim teen mused softly. Liliana looked at her friend in concern. After all he was still a kit. And there was that one who scared him --well somewhere. "You'll be all right, getting home from here? Or do you live here? There was a strange look in her eyes as she asked. As if a little worried that she had stepped past some unseen line. BlackPidgeot Edward knew what she meant.. his grin toning down to a warm, knowing smile. "I'll be fine... I live here. I'm sure my family is around somewhere." Although he could scarcely call them a family. It was a loose term really as Roy was his so called 'adopted' father... yet still the b*****d colonel. Setsumi he considered more of a parent than anyone. "Thanks for coming with me. I'll you later, right?" Edward had grown rather fond of the two of them, and was inwardly touched at Liliana's concern. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Lightly she touched her nose to his & smiled. "Sure. Of course. We're friends. Friends see each other." Even if, like her father & Ember there were large gaps in between. They were still always friends. Talagand too smiled. "Right." Certainly if the fullmetal kit lived here & they visited they would see him later for certain. BlackPidgeot Edward couldn't hold back the blush that creeped over his cheeks as Liliana's nose touched his. "Yeah... that's right" he replied cheerfully, somewhat embarassed as he could feel his cheeks burning. Flashing them another grin, he lifted a gloved paw to wave at the two, before turning and making his way into the HQ. But not without a final glance behind him before he disappeared. It was then that he went in seacrch of a familiar face. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Waving back, Lily grinned & watched her friend disappear inside. Having a friend felt so good. Talagand flicked a wing independently with his paw-wave, then turned to Liliana with an arched brow as the teenage witch pulled out her wand to disaparate the two of them from headquarters. "I think you embarrassed him a little." He remarked referring to the change of color beneath the fur of Edward's cheeks. Talagand drew close knowing that to aparate two the wizards needed to hold onto the other. Liliana paused, an innocent & confused expression on her face. "What are you talking about, Talagand?" The harper shook his head & chuckled lightly. "Nothing, Liliana. Just a thought." She clearly had not thought about implications, and was certainly not the romantic he was. Shrugging her shoulders Liliana folded her wings to her back, waiting as Tal did the same. Then keeping close contact they disaparated, leaving the space by the door empty.
