"Yeah, it turned out alright," he said, shrugging a bit, "The guys explained everything so they took it off my record. Got a nice long b***h fest from my mom about it though. Apparently she thinks I was sleeping with the house mother. Which is creepy, but whatever. Better than her thinking I was drunk and climbed the building. I think." Alright, so his mother had odd standards. And to her, sleeping with a woman thirty years his senior was less of a problem than drinking.

"Well at least there wasn't any permanent damage," she said. "Though I am curious how your mother would draw that conclusion."
Why would a mother think her son was sleeping with someone older like that? She sincerely hoped he wasn't that kind of person. So far he hadn't given her that impression, but she could always be wrong.
"Did you guys do stuff like that all the time?" she asked with a mischeivous smile. Her pranks had been few and far between, though she was curious of the interworkings of a frat house.

"Anytime we had free from classes and parties," he laughed, "Which wasn't that often, but it was fun." He remembered his first party at the house, missed a morning class because of it. And ended up halfway across campus." A bit of a thoughtful look fell over him, and then he cracked a smile, "Come to think of it, that happened at my last party there too."

"Sounds like you've hardly ever had a dull moment then," she smirked. Free time hadn't existed for her much, thanks to her dire need to study. Whenever she was completely free, she either went out somewhere or her friends pulled her into another one of their schemes. Too bad she hardly kept in contact with them anymore.
She checked her watch again. It was getting late. Not wanting to leave, but realizing that she did have things to do for the night, she relunctantly decided maybe it was time to go.
"Well, it is getting late," she looked toward her feet with a sheepish expression. "I should probably be getting back over to my place now."

He nodded, a bit disappointed that it was time for her to leave. But he knew that, even if he wanted her to, she couldn't stay any longer. After all, she probably had things to do, and a toddler to check on. "Alright, I'll walk you back over there then," he said, then reached for his back pocket, "Almost forgot." He pulled an old grocery list out and turned it over in his hand, reaching back for a pen. Good thing he'd learned to carry one. Scribbling his number quickly, he added, "Just in case you need me for anything."

"Thanks," she took the slip of paper with a grateful smile. Reaching into her own pocket, she pulled out a small notepad with a pen attached. What writer would be complete without one? She scribbled down her own number.
"And here's mine for if you need me for anything," she handed him hers and returned the pad of paper to her pocket. She remembered that when they got to her apartment that she'd need to return his sweater too.
"Well, I guess I'll lead the way," she smiled as she headed toward the door.

"Tucking her number in his back pocket, he nodded, "Yep, I'd get us lost." Reaching behind the couch, he found his own jacket, an old track relic, and tossed it on. He was only a step or so behind her as he reached ahead and opened the door, showing a goofy grin, "Force of habit, have to open the door for a woman. Mom was a stickler for manners."

"Thanks," her face flushed as he opened the door. Smiling, she walked outside back into the cold night air. Five flights of stairs to climb down again. Luckily, down is easier than up.
It was really dark, so she had difficulty trying to find the gardens. Finally when she saw large dark blobs that she could only guess were flower bushes, she figured out where they were.
"I think it's this way," she looked back toward him. Sure enough the building was there. "Ready for four more flights of stairs?"

"Shouldn't be a problem," he said, trying to assure her that it was no trouble. His night vision wasn't that great, one of the reasons dusk driving got him on edge. He was pretty much following her by the sound of steps, "Smells like the garden at least. Someone's bound to still have some lights on, so it shouldn't be too hard to see once we get out of here, right?"

"Well, I usually leave a light on so hopefully I didn't forget tonight," she fumbled her way through the gardens. Once they reached the building, it was slightly lighter due to a few faint glows behind curtained windows. She found the stairs quite easily after that. Making sure that he did too, she started to climb. Such a monotonous treak, going up these stairs. Why'd she pick the fourth floor again?
Once she reached the top of the fourth flight, she paused to catch her breath. She smiled at Stephan, her face flushed a bit red from all the stair climbing.
"Well, this is where I live," she looked toward the door. The window next to it was also curtained, but a bright light from the kitchen could be seen around the edges. She hadn't forgotten.

He was honestly glad for the light, and even though he was starting to get a bit tired, he didn't have much trouble with the stairs. "Well, I guess I should probably head back then," he said, glancing back through the darkness. It was a pretty straight walk, so he wouldn't have too much trouble with it. Turning back, he smiled, "It was good meeting you Remi."

"It was nice meeting you too," she waved back at him with a smile, though she felt this was slightly anticlimatic. Though, she'd just met him so it wasn't like she should have been expecting anything more. She pushed those thoughts away, as they just confused her.
As he started back the stairs, she realized she still had his sweater. Hurriedly, she slipped it off and went after him.
"Oh wait! You forgot this!"

Hearing her call after him, he had turned around and started to jog back. Being that it was still pretty dark, he didn't see her quite fast enough to stop, instead running right into her. "Oops, sorry," he apologized, hoping she couldn't see him blushing. Well that was bad. "I uh- thanks."

She 'oof'ed as he collided with her, almost knocking her over. Even in the dark, she could see a slight tint of red in his face since the collision had put them so close. Was that a blush? As if to mimic him, her own face started to turn red.
"Well--uh, here," she said a bit awkwardly. As he was a bit taller than she was, as well as the fact that they were right in front of each other, she had to look up as she offered him back his sweater.

Taking the sweater, he nodded, but didn't really say anything. Come on, kiss her. There went his mind again. She's not walking away, so just kiss her. No, bad idea. You just met her, and she's a sweet girl. Don't screw it up. But you obviously want to. No, we're friends. Then why are you still standing here staring? When it clicked in his mind, he sort of flinched, then turned a bit redder, looking back at the door, "Thanks. Goodnight Remi."
