For those joining the Amalgam RP in the official thread I added some guides to posting. The Famine race uses indigo color for texts, if your race will use a particular tone while talking and you want to identify it through colors let me know here or PM me. ^^

Whoever did the alexander character might want to rethink he weight. 105 pounds is kind of unreasonable for a 6ft male. He would have to be hollow. With every inch you gain it adds on about five pounds. Plus muscle weighs more then just skin and fat. >_>''

Ok let's start with a little game discussion of sorts. More like what you like to have in videogames. Character customization Plenty of clothes to choose from but they have to be separate. (boots, hats, tops, bottoms etc) If hairstyles can be changed all the better. A perfect example of Character customization is Fable.
Interesting and Fitting Story The good vs evil story is overused in videogames but even so some games find a way to make it "different" than others. Suikoden 3 for example tells a saving the world from destruction story but it is presented from different points of views. In a fantasy world we can expect any sorts of powers but to make that power the enemy is something really cool.
Choices and consequences If I want to kill everyone who looks at me oddly I want to have the ability to do it but just as well I will have to deal with the consequences. Once again the best example is Fable. You can basically kill anyone you come in contact with but your reputation will drop and you'll inspire fear. not to mention people will be after you.
Open Ending with neverending quests I pay good money on a game and waste precious time leveling a character up just to finish it in a couple of hours without a reason to start it all over again. Open ending games are more common these days thanks to Grand Theft Auto. Even after you finish all your missions you still have something to do. For example you can do police missions, paramedic etc. Fable also has something to do after you're done, you can buy a house, buy a shop, get married, get divorced etc lol
Nice selection of items but a way to not need most of them This is where most games fail. They usually have you running around like an idiot trying to gather ingridients or whatever puzzle solving items just to proceed with the story. They don't even help you in the last battle. Jade Empire is an example of how an inventory should be. You do come accross your ocasional puzzle but most of the time you don't have to do it to proceed with the story, you only do it for a side quest you chose to do. Also there are people selling stuff all over the map, do you really need another sword to beat the last boss? or perhaps it would be more intelligent to upgrade your sword (or weapon of choice) to a level the last boss can't beat.
Character Relationships This helps the feeling of the game. They usually have a betrayal and you the hero looking for revenge. It is true that it is a nice way to get you into the story, to try and feel what the character is feeling, after all the games are all about interactivity and the more senses you use, the more interactive it is. I like it when a game offers me the chance to fall in love with a member of my party, then the reason for fighting seems all the more heroic and poetic. Besides loyalty isn't inspired just by you being the main character, (on videogames it is) you have to earn the trust and respect of your friends. Jade Empire again is a nice example of having relationships as part of the story. Also Shenmue which I think does an awesome job, even though the interactivity in Shenmue was "linear" I loved the place and it's people, I enjoyed working at the harbor, I liked seeing Nozomi well and working etc.
Enjoyable and lively worlds Dark and empty caves and dungeons seems to be the one thing that comes to mind to most developers. I enjoy the more nature or realistically oriented worlds. If I go to a town I want to see many people in it, some working, some just passing by to get to their homes, other just causing trouble, kids playing etc. I don't want to spend 8 hours of a game inside a stupid cave trying to find a sleeping dragon that hey if it's sleeping inside a cave nobody enters why the hell should I bother it. Fable, Jade Empire, KOTOR and Shenmue are perfect examples of awesome worlds. GTA San Andreas is an example of a huge overwhelming cool world.
Well that's about it for now, when I remember anything else I'll post ^^ Post yours guys or comment on mine if you like

I looked at the correction for Alexander (the character), you've moved from hollow to anorexic. Im not trying to make fun of you really, im just like to correct things. I am a 5'1, female in real life and i weigh about 120 pounds. That is fifteen pounds less then your Full grown 6ft male character. Now mind you, I am in no way over weight. I am slightly muscular, and otherwise normal. I'd have to say the average weight for someone that tall should be anywhere from At the very least 150 to around 180ish. So er yeah...im really not mean. Sorry v.v
And towards the video game thing, im the species of nerds who read entierly too much instead of playing video games. So, i wouldent really know much about what i like. I'm fond of tetris though o.o

Puh, exams are finally over, I sort of cannot believe that I can draw/color now... Not for very long for, I'm afraid. We are leaving for Moscow on 5th, for two weeks, where we will spend our time with my families and sightseeing, so I doubt I'll have much time to draw. And after we return, I'll have to start learning almost immediatly, because I'll have to repeat some exams. Duh. confused ... Then, again, learning for Japanese exam won't be such a bother as for CS... Maybe I should stop studying it altogether? confused ...
Heh, I guess, I'm sort of talking to myself. ^^; Either way, I can't way to show off the new "GAIA-commission-friendly" style of mine! xd

I can see you are indeed very tired Nyuna. You are one of the few people I know that barely makes any grammatical mistake or typo. Looking forward to new art from you ^^ And hopefully someday you'll stop being a slave to studies ^^. You remind me of a teacher I had in college, I don't think she eaver slept. Yet her knowledge on all sorts of stuff was wide. I really loved being her student.

I'm quite lazy, actually (unless I have to read something Japan-related that fits my interests ^^; ), it is a coincidence, the faults of German education system and my mistakes that led to this study-marathon in this June/July. I usually visited the guild for a short while, but was too tired to post much and stuff. ^^; ... Ah, if I only could study just Japanese... My life would be so much easier. sweatdrop ... I'm still glad that I could start studying English as one of my minors, though. Especially, since I developed interest in Shakespeare lately: one of our teachers gives great lectures on literature in English language. You can really see how much he appreciates those books/poems and stuff. ^^ I am also learning stuff that might be usefull when writing a story. smile
