"Pfft. Well, you should ask first. I'm not a complete culinary idiot," she told him, still a bit miffed. But that didn't get in the way of her helping him! She glanced at him, curious. "About how big should the strips be? Did Aria ask you to make it, or did you decide on your own?" Phage had no problem moving from one topic to the other, as she needed to. "Where'd she get it?"

"I'm sorry! I just was trying to help!" He sighs. "About half an inch thick, if possible, please." He pauses and continues to grind for a moment, forcefully. It was either he was frusterated some, and taking it out on the grinder, or he was having a hard bit and needed to focus on it to get it done. After a minute, he grinds normally again. "She got it at a mexican place she knows. And sometimes she asks. This time, she'd had a busy and kinda stressful week so I volunteered and she looked thrilled."

"Don't help the help if they don't ask for help. They're too busy being the help," she mentioned idly as her attention went to the chicken. If she didn't pay attention to it, she wouldn't get it right, she knew as she began to slice the meat. Bel's little grinding show went unnoticed as she looked away. "What happened this week? Are you a good cook?"

He blinks, trying to process her statement. "Ummm ah I see." He continues to grind the stuff, adding more ingredients for the powder. "I'm not all sure what was going on, it was in what she calls 'real life', which is to say how she supports the home we live in and all. Beyond that, I really don't know. She just comes home tense and goes to her room, dragging her mate with her. Sometimes, it's clear they're doin' the mate thing and sometimes I think they're sword fighting. And I guess so. Everyone likes my Poblano."

Wanting to be finished, Phage finished with the chicken quickly, slicing cleanly once she'd gotten the hang of it. She set the knife down and brought the chicken to Bel to be inspected. "How's this?" A curious glance was cast towards his own work. He was still grinding? "How much of that do you have to do?" It suddenly hit her, what he was saying. Aria... Didn't she know her? "Aria? Starstone? That nice woman who visits the Gardens, Jare's caretaker? If so, how is Jare?"

Bel looks at the chicken slices, as he adds more spices to the grinding. "The chicken is perfect... I need to grind in a lot of ingredients, so it takes a bit, to get it all done." He blinks as she mentions Jare. "Oh Jare's just fine, he keeps an eye on his son. And, obviously, yes, she is. I understand that she's... different... there, the whole 'IRL' thing that I don't get..."

"Oh!" Phage blushes a bit. "Perfect? Well, I... ah... At any rate," She turns to set the chicken down, then changes the subject back to Aria. "Understandable. But either way, it'd be that there's a lot that's the same, isn't there? Either way, we're both the ones that take care of those in our homes... Jare, Marei, and their sons are things we both know. Even with the IRL factor, which is... confusing. I probably shouldn't be talking of it!" A small laugh follows her statement, and she shakes the thought away. Really, something might break if they thought about it too much more! It was enough that she recognized Aria, without having actually having met her; there was no need to think on it further.

Bel arches an eyebrow, noting the blush, and filing it down for future reference. "Mmmm well I suppose... I know she said something about not having a mate in her IRL, but she has one here, a Nazgul named Uldea Toldaire, goes by Tol. She also has two kids by him here..." He finishes, finally, grinding the powder and begins to add other things to it, to make the paste that will become the sauce. "Meh I suppose. But yes, I know of Jare and the business with Marei and their kids. I also know River and her kid and Lia and her kid, and others. Little Sunkiso recently bloomed, he's a handsome fella."

Phage nods in understanding. "It can be confusing... Keeping IRL seperate from other things, sometimes. Soon, I'm sure it will be even more confusing, especially for me and you, and everyone else. When there's another of me, and she lives with you part-time." She leans in closer, watching what he was doing. "Is he? I think I took note of him the other day... As for River... Well..." A slightly sad chuckle escaped her here. "It was a bit difficult, watching Momiji's crush be crushed."

Belarion nods at all of this, then blinks at her. "Wait what, Two of you? How will there be two of you, one here part time?" He looks unnerved, then sighs. "Yes... River felt bad, she likes Momiji a lot, really, but things got weird... well she's a little odd and that fellow she mated with is also odd.. I'm not sure she'd want to be with him more, at this point. She never sees him and Momiji, she is fond of."

Eyes sparkling, Phage turns back to him and grins. "Well, see... The owner of the Gardens, Dragoil... Somehow, there are new Blathanna expected, ones who are the staff members. Since I'm one... At least, IRL... There'll be one of me. And there's already one of me, so then there will be two when the new Blathanna finally arrive." That would turn out to be a lot of fun, Phage hoped. It was only a matter of time before she could gang up on people and surprise them with two of herself! Her eyes widened slightly. "Really? I think Momiji would like to see her again, but... he's a little shy about the Gardens. Though not with anything he can play with! He's a bit odd, too! A cheerful little thing he is... So River likes him, too, huh?"

Belarion freezes, processing this bit about two Phages, trying not to have his brain melt. "Two... oh my god. Two..." He shakes his head and ponders this. "Mmm well yes, she does. She thinks he's a sweet fellow, and finds his thing about turning into a bunny interesting." He remembered the night River had babysat him. "She would certainly like to see him again."

Phage giggles as she watches him try to understand, and leans in closer, her shoulder rubbing against his now. "And what's wrong with two?" Her voice lowers slightly as she teases him, but she backs off after a few moments. "Interesting? Did you see him turn into a rabbit? Maybe we could arrange for him to come over again one day..."

Belarion yelps, trying to work out how she got onto to his side of the island, without him noticing, at the contact. "I... um... I'm not sure I could handle two, it would be strange having two of the same person around!" He breathes to compose himself, then looks at her. "I did, when she came up and gave him a hug. It was interesting. He was a cute little bunny! And yeah, that would be nice."

Phage laughs softly, and on an impulse, leans back in to give him a friendly kiss on the cheek. "You're too cute... Anyway, I think it'll be fun, having someone to talk to. Though, it may be quieter, since she'll probably know what I'm going to say," she sighed, closing her eyes and tilting her head. After a moment, she opened her eyes to look at him again, eagerly. "Well, why don't we? We could do it here, or at the Gardens. You could come, too, if it were the Gardens."
