((And finally Gaia's back to normal! >_>x))

The pale faerie princess had seen her beloved's subtle request and stopped not far away from the back doors, after all, Rune was closer anyway and he was just as good as her when it came to healing people. Smiling kindly, Tintlet nodded at the two officers in greeting, there was no need to raise her voice just to do it audible. By the way, infirmaries weren't supposed to be that noisy anyway.

Ruwalk returned the faerie's nod with a light smile then turned his head to the Earth Knight. "It... Vierres has discovered something quite... odd, unnerving even. He'll be telling us more and in detail when he comes back. Of course, you'll immediately be informed after the meeting if it is something that you need for the battle field, otherwise... I'm thinking, we'll tell everyone otherwise. Not that it won't be out and all over sooner or later anyway... if it now wasn't so bad," and I fear it was, "that the Dragon Fighter accompanying our Red Officer will keep quiet on their own." Ruwalk concluded, with a serious face. It was true though, he didn't know so much, the short letter/report didn't reveal much to anything... just that it was bad news... really bad news.

Not too far away from the once again towering capital of Dragoon a small team of darnas were making their way towards the city at almost neck breaking speed. "Finally!" The leader of the group growled frustrated as the glittering Dragon Castle, rebuilt after the major fight that had more or less destroyed it about two years ago, came into view. The tall stone building stood perched upon the same hill as it always had from the founding of the city, but when the Dragon Tribe had had a chance to rebuild it they had made sure it was bigger and better. It would last this war, the Emperor had sworn that, not only to his people but also to himself and his Consort.

Vierres glared and drove the riding dragon faster, it could handle it. It wasn't far now. And that little fighter damn well have got his message there by now, or better up, earlier. He had even given the dragon his own darna so that he could cover more ground. Not that the darans were very different but his was just a little faster and had a little more endurance, and he hadn't wanted to have to wait for a meeting and everyone needed present to gather before getting on to the meeting itself. Impatient was just the first word that described him all too well today.

Thatz cocked an eyebrow, resisting the urge to snatch away the letter and see for himself.

Was the news really all that bad? What could it be? Some sort of secret the Demon Clan had finally unleashed upon them? A strategy that had suddenly rendered all their hard work useless?

It couldn't be that the entire party was decimated-- Bierrez would have sooner died as well than retreat alone and call for help. He was stubborn that way; every bit as proud as Rath. Thatz had often wondered if Cesia had once returned his affections, even as it was obvious the new Fire Knight still, to some extent, felt them. The two Fire Knights were certainly similar enough.

He forced himself off that train of thought; there were more important issues at hand than stale gossip. Besides, if he really wanted to know, all he had to do was trek down to the kitchens and ask the first maid to come into view.

So what was on the letter? And, more importantly, would he be able to pry any more information from Ruwalk before the later debriefing? While it would probably not keep any information from him, the anticipation was going to drive him insane. Thatz sighed lightly, grudgingly admitting defeat, and nodded.

"Okay. Do you know when he's supposed to be back?"

"Caracas!"

The shout lit up the slowly warming air, one of the Dragon Fighters breaking away from the small cluster still standing around the guild building and trotting up to the tired newcomer.

"What's the news? How'd the fight go? The demons still running?"

The blonde fighter nodded wearily, looking around him for a source of water. The ride had been tense and dry and he had had little time to rest after the fighting and cleaning up before setting off.

"Good." He entered the building, his friend trailing eagerly after him. Heading towards the pitcher of water and spare glasses on a table in the back, he continued speaking. "Good." He poured himself a drink and gulped it haistily down.

"Good," Caracas repeated a third time, the events settling slowly into place, "until afterwards. We didn't lose anyone," he said at the other's confused expression, "and no one was that badly wounded. What'shisname, new guy with black hair, he got a spear through his arm, but they patched that up. That was the worst of it."

Santiago grinned, the smile spreading across his clear face. "We got lucky, then."

Caracas' head slowly shook, a confused tic forming between his brows as he poured himself a second glass with a more steady hand. "It was after the battle. There was this one Demon..." His voice trailed off.

"I don't think I'm supposed to tell anyone." Caracas finally explained, forcing himself to keep quiet. The vision of Bierrez chasing him, sword drawn, with more fury than even Alfeegi had ever been able to conjure up was a good deterrent.

But still... Caracas bit his lip.

"I'm off duty," he stated after a minute, "come with me to the bar."

Upon hearing the small footsteps of the water knight as he neared him, The black officer lifted his head slightly, his dark scarlet hues just caught sight of Tinlet's nod to them. He bit his lip lightly, the sight of the spirit tribe member with the way his eyes were now, it hurt. The bitter taste of metallic blood oozed onto his tongue as he then shifted his gaze to the blond beside him, his crimison hues shimmering in the semi-low lighting.

His dark hues burned down into Rune as he stared at the poor Water Knight for a brief two or three moments before very, very hesitantly moving his large bloodied hand from his chest, peeling the dried and slightly stuck dark blood red handkercheif along with it. The moving of the handkerchief caused the removal of a bit of the scabbing, leading to some blood oozing again down his chest. But now the Water Knight had his permission to working his elven healing, much to Teceous's displeasure.

”No,” Ruwalk shook his head lightly, “but I bet it will be within the hour since he sent a fighter to deliver the message. We should already be in the throne room, Teceous and I, when he arrives.” The Yellow Officer finished, nodding once towards the darker dragon in the room when he mentioned the other’s name.

Ruwalk never missed Teceous's slow movements or slightly red eyes. Hejust hoped that his friend was ok... it would be over soon anyway and they would leave the infirmary.

Thatz glanced over as well, quickly drawing his eyes back. Following the gaze to the other Officer caused him to feel almost as though he was intruding upon something secret. It very nearly felt sacred.

Pushing that thought from his head, Thatz turned away from Rune as his hand began to glow. He didn't need to watch.

((*just got permission from the RP Mistresses to post* <333))

The interior of the bar was warm: wood paneling over the floors and walls, thick wooden beams making up the ceiling. Small bunches of herbs and flowers hung from the banisters, and mostly empty tables were scattered across the spacious room. Light spilled in through the wide glass windows, and the bartender could be seen clearing away freshly washed dishes behind the counter. He glanced up as the two Dragon Fighters walked in and nodded a greeting; it was commonplace for the off duty Fighters to gather in his establishment for food, drink, and a good word.

They seemed tenser than usual, however, and he kept quiet, listening casually.

Caracas sat down at the bar, motioning for his friend to join him. He dug a couple coins out of the deep pocket of his uniform pants and pressed them to the counter.

"You gotta keep quiet about this, but there was something weird about the dead."

"What do you mean?" Santiago remained skeptical and would have voiced his feelings had it not been obviously so urgent that Bierrez himself had been worried by it.

Listening patiently as his friend picked up the mug of cool alcohal that was placed before him and drunk deeply, Santiago crossed his arms loosely over his chest. This had better be worth it. Those had been his coins.

Caracas placed the mug down, then immediatly picked it up again, taking another wide swallow.

"One of the demons... he had still been alive after the fighting; it was over pretty quick... he..."

It was probably very lucky the bar had been slow that day. The Dragon Fighter was soon making no attempts to keep his voice low, and the tale he told of sickly honey and thick light was disturbing, to put it mildly.

Even so, it was heard by at least two others in the room and it was not long until the story had spread to the other working class members of the Dragon Clan.

((Poor Water Knight? XDD ))

Rune made a sort of tsk noise, though he knew that was probably pushing it. Oh well. He was getting sick and tired of everyone thinking that just because he was an elf, that he was weaker or timid or something. Sure, he usually kept his tone and his head lower than most. But that didn't mean he didn't have a mind or an opinion.

"You do realize if you just came here first, it wouldn't be this bad now," he mumbled, already raising his hand toward the wound. "Just hold still a second."

He made it fast, partly as apology for that comment, and partly because he knew how much Teceous hated this. "There, done."

((I would be scared out of my mind if half youkai teceous was staring loomingly over me...>>> Not really <3 XDD *pounces Tec*
Tec: -_- ))

Teceous countinued to stare at Rune before shifting his gaze to the wound, watching the wound small and then vanished. But between watching it, his eyes shifted to Luwalk. The black officer was going to speak up, saying something about his lack of choice in the matter and how they pretty much came here right after the match, but instead kept his mouth shut.

"Thank you." Said the man of little words. Teceous then turned, and left the infirmary, now standing just a bit outside of the room, waiting for Luwalk while he untied his white muscle top and uniform top from his waist, putting it back on.

A dark hue glanced up to the sky, through a nearby window, his eye half covered by his large bloodied hand. Just staring at the bright sky made him a little dizzy. Mentally, he found himself cursing the youkai, but with his head bowed a little, he laughed to himself while leaning his shoulder against the wall.

((*is currently reading Kamikits's letters to her and laughing* XDDD We need to lock Kami up somewhere before Santiago makes her go out and hunt people down.))

As the Water Knight worked smoothly and quickly not much time was left for further talking. Ruwalk smiled at Rune in appreciation and then nodded at Thats and Tintlet as the Black Officer walked out of the room. "Thank you, Rune." Then his expression grew a bit more serious. "Our fights with Nadil's army might have been more gracious to us lately but with this coming up, whatever it was that Vierres has found out, I won't waste any time. It's better to be safe than sorry, so don't relax. If this is something bad we'll try to stop it before it happens or gets too big."

When he had said what he wanted Ruwalk gave the small group one of his normal grins then walk out and was in the middle of closing the door when he saw, and heard, Teceous standing there... laughing.

((XDDDDD I can so see this picture! Ruwalk looking all "Oh god, he lost it" and Teceous looking quite like Rath when he was laughing at the mini-snowman on Cesia's head. XDDD Would belovely to draw.))
"Ah... Teceous? Are you laughing?" He asked as he stared at the person who, at most, would smile... not grin, and certainly not laugh.

Down one floor on ground level and some hundred meters into the city Vierres, with the small group of Dragon Fighters that had accompanied him on the mission, were closing in on the large castle. Of course, they were going at a slower pace now because they had entered the city but they were fast nontheless.

The black officer paused in his sly laughter. He turned a few more shakes of laughter falling from his shoulders as his bloodied hand dropped from covering his face. He had a cocked smile, almost like a mix between a smirk and a smile, on his face as he looked to Luwalk. He shook his head a little, his black bangs falling into his eyes as his hands slid into his pockets.

"Yeah...The irony in my thoughts brought me to laugh..." That small cocked smile then slipped into a smirk, one of Teceous's usuals.

"Ah, I see..." Ruwalk smiled and sweatdropped, feeling, for some reason he couldn't point out, very watched when the other looked at him with that kind of expression. "Well, shall we then?" The Yellow Officer motioned down the hall to where the closest stair was that would take them to the bottom floor, the level that the throne room was on.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 20, 2006 12:34 pm

The black-haired half youkai's smirk remained as he took a few steps, closing the distance between himself and Luwalk. His eyes narrowed a little as he was about seven inches from the other's face, but even with his eyes narrowed, you could see the very vivid scarlet glow of his eyes.

His eyes trailed from one of Luwalk's orange hues to the other, then down the Yellow Officer's fair skin to his lips then back up to his eyes, that sly smirk grew with a slight c**k of the edge of his mouth before he turned away from the other dragon, heading slowly in the direction of the near-by stair case.

The dragon blinked once, confused as the other mocved closer, then began to lean back a bit as Teceous kept walking closer. The brown haired man couldn't help but swallow lightly when the other continued staring at him, right intohis eyes even. Those black orbs were tinted with red...

"Ah... T-teceous...?" He asked when the Black Officer's smirk grew slightly, then he almost felt like falling backwards when his colleague turned and began to move away. Sometimes that man was just too... unpredictable? No that wasn't the word. Incomprehensible, perhaps?

Ruwalk snapped out of his thoughts as he noticed that the subject of his musings had began walking towards their joint goal without him. "Wha-- Hey, wait." He said as he hurried up to the other officer.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 20, 2006 12:54 pm

The half youkai paused in his stride, turning his head slightly, that faint red glimmer still in his eyes as he watched Luwalk, allowing the smaller officer to catch up.

A young ravenette maid had just moved around the corner when she spotted Luwalk and Teceous, She watched the black officer as he moved away, then Yellow officer turned to follow. She giggled and quickly turned to her companion, hiding behind the corner. "There's Luwalk-sama~" The other maid just rolled her eyes.

See, what had happened what Sen got distracted by her friend, well, not distracted, see her friend was carrying all the clean linen for the infirmary and called Sen over, asking her dearly for her help, and Sen didn't say no, and Ryokou even encouraged her to go.

Walking down the hall, down the large stair and through a longue the pair arrived in front of the throne room doors. The wooden objects were tall, white painted and graced with golden carvings along the frame. These doors had been designed by the previous Dragon Emperor, Lykouleon's father, but during the second attack on the castle by Nadil's army, almost two years ago now, the originals had been destroyed. These replicas were almost as beautiful though and had been created from memory. It had become appearant, when they rebuilt the castle, that many things they wanted to remake had been things they had seen on a daily basis and not put, in detail, into their memory. Many beautiful things had gone lost that way, but it had also made way for some redesign and new pieces in the castle.

Walking up to the double doors, Ryuwalk knocked on them, the sound loud and clear. "Lykouleon-sama, Teceous and I have something very important we need to discuss."

Looking up from his small conversation with his wife, green eyes regarded the main entrance into the large room as it opened and two of his officers stepped through. They knew they didn't need to wait for a clear sign before entering, unlike others.

Smiling lightly, the blond and, for the moment, unhooded ruler of Dusis nodded at Ruwalk and Teceous. "Come in. Is there a problem?"

At the exact same moment, down in front of the castle, Vierres pulled his darna to a screeching halt and jumped off, completely ignoring the complains from his legs after the stressed ride. Throwing the reins at a nearby Dragon Fighter he called out even as he was onhis way towards the castle, walking with a hurried pace so to catch his breath.

"Take care of that one, I have important information for his majesty. Damn important information." He growled the last part to himself as he entered the building, his small party, excluding Caracas whom he had sent ahead before, dismounting behind him.
