"Oh, we won't be galloping to our deaths," replied Ryushi lightly. "It'll be a calm sort of stroll."
"Well, it's not like we're going to arrive there before dinnertime if we're going to walk, anyways," said Ryushi. "Unless this is the best place to find food, we can "fish" somewhere else along the way." An amused grin held onto his face when he said the word 'fish'. It was entertaining to fish his way.

Iro grumbled at his "strolling" comment and continued to walk a step behind him. "As for food and fishing," she said, stopping and turning towards the water, "This isn't the only place to fish, it's just the easiest. Everywhere else along the beach has rip currents and other hazzards."

"Alrighty, then," said Ryu. Relaxedly, he turned and followed Iroka to the shore, sitting down where the waves stopped. There, he did nothing but watch the waters intently.

Iro sat down beside Ryu, not completely sure what to do now. "So," she said, staring at the waves, "are we going to eat today or not?"

"That depends," said Ryushi, reaching towards the water, and making motions as if to sweep things towards him. Nothing happened. "Can you decide between crabs and fish before sundown?"

"Crabs," Iro said with a half-indignant snort, "I'm not the one you need to worry about being picky!" She looked at him with an evil grin and watched him "fish". ((OMG!!! Gomenasai! I forgot to tell you I'd be gone this past week! I'm SOOOO sorry!!!))

((And I'm in Vegas right now, since last Wednesday. =P ))
"Oh, really?" questioned Ryushi. "And is there any reason why? Do the fish here suck?" That was a bad thing, especially for an island nation. The mana tracing method he was using was less effective here than it was at home, since it didn't have mana in their river or in anywhere near as much abundance, meaning that the animals would not have as much of it in their bodies. But...
"Eh, crabs it is, then!" Ryushi drew a hand to his chest while still 'tugging' with his left hand. It glowed for an instant before he brought it palm-first into the sand. The sand rippled a bit more than it should, and three crabs erupted from the surface of the water, impaled upon small spires of earth draw out by mana.
Seeing his new catches still moving ever so slightly, he tossed a grin in Iroka's direction.

Iro, catching his grin, rolled her eyes at the acolyte. Testosterone... she thought to herself, I hate testosterone. Reaching over to the crabs, she pulled the smallest off of its spike and gathered water around it with her mana. Looking at Ryu out of the corner of her eye, she pulled a bit of fire mana underneith of the water orb to heat it, makeing a make-shift "pot of boiling water".

Ryushi kept grinning as he slipped off his sandals and socks to wade into the water and retreive the other two crabs, which had been impaled a little farther out. It would've been an insane waste of mana and concentration for him to use magic to pull the crabs off and float them to him. Using his large sleeves as a glove, he pulled the still-live crabs off, avoiding the pinchers carefully, and walked back to Iroka.

"Awwww..." Iro said, extremely sarcastically, "Not manly enough to use your mana? Or did you just have to show off your manly-ness by wading through the treaterous waves?"

"If I did either, you'd still get angry at me," he shot back with a smirk. "So I picked the one that costed me the least."
Saying that, he tossed the two crabs to her, not really thinking twice about lobbing live pincers at Iroka.

Iro rolled her eyes at him and shrieked as one of the flying crabs almost made contact with her head. She stuck out her tongue at him as she managed to catch one crab with the now-boiling water mana and grumbled to herself as the other scuttled away.
"And I suppose I'm the one who's cooking because I'm the woman? Right?" she spat as she flared the fire mana dangerously close to Ryu's left ear.

Ryushi simply caught the mana with a thought and a hand gesture. "No... you're supposed to be the one cooking because you started the cooking magic. Of your own accord. Without letting me say anything."
Ryushi smirk spread a bit more, only faltering a little because he just noticed he'd thrown live crabs at her. Ah, oh well. Ryushi picked up the other crab as he stepped onto the sand; it wasn't too hard, since it was wounded. He calmly dipped it into the orb and walked a few feet to sit down.

Iro turned her attention back to the water and grumbled silently to herself. So much for tricking him into being decent, she thought to herself, He didn't even apologize for the crabs! I bet back home he was like a prince or something, if only because his father is so high and mighty!!!

Ryushi sat down, resting his chin on his bent knees as he stared out to the sea. Well, this was certainly going to take a good, long while. And every minute would seem much longer than what they were.
