Nokomei swiftly entered, afraid she'd missed something. She could severely sense the nervous energy that seemed to be a buzz throught out each Kawani, Soquili and even the lands. She came up to the camp of the Kawani, prepaired to be there for any means in which she may be needed. She was prepaired for anything that may come; although, she was more in favor of making peace with the pale faces. She wasn't one who liked to see blood spilled for senseless reasons.
Oathkeeper, who'd been following behind Nokomei, put his head over her shoulder and nibbled soothingly at her ear. He wanted nothing more than to see that she stayed safe as well as that through all of this, good hearted choices would prevail.

Near the back of the line, one of the youngest of the settlers was down walking beside his own mount as well, reins in hand. This New World was so strange to him; all around them untamed wilderness unlike any you could find in Britain or France anymore. The sounds of the surf were slowly fading as he followed the groups leaders inward, it was being replaced by the unafraid wildlife around them. How strange to be in a place were nearly nothing seemed to fear man as it should. Christien shook his head and glanced up at his mounts head to see how the horse faired.
Ansel shook his head then, a soft nicker escaping from around the bit of his halter. He wanted to run very badly, and it was only the knowledge that his boy wished he could let him that kept him in line right now. Ansel tucked his head a little lower to recieve a nose scratch from Christien and kept up his part of the pace, despite the packs making his saddle heavier than it normally was--it wasn't as if Christien weighed that much!
Christian looked once more to the head of the line. When would they stop? He'd heard muttered things about 'the proper place to build' on the ship, but it meant nothing to him, even though his grasp on English had improved greatly on the long voyage to this hellish place. Annoyed, his hand swept the white blonde hair from his eyes to keep the sweaty locks from sticking further to his skin. Why would anyone willingly put themselves through this?

She could see something was coming their way. A person on a horse. Although the pale face was too far to be seen who it was. It was indeed sitting on the horse with the thing on it's back. "Look!" She pointed at the settler. Making everyone else look too.
Breathing through her nose, she stomped her hoof. Acting like she would charge. They better don't have any weapons of any kind, or that would be my cue to attack!

"Chief!" shouted Nashota, carrying the thunder-stick she had found. She looked for him, but didn't hear his voice. Nashota stood next to Randee and Leah, ready for the two lookers to come.
Randee began to get worried.
Leah growled and roar furiously as loud as she could, trying to scare off some of the pale-faces.

Nokomei turned her attention to what all other Kawani seemed to be watching...indeed, the pale faces were a strange sight to behold. She crouched down more to be sure she remained hidden, she would have hated more than anything to give the tribe away.
Oathkeeper on the other hand, gave an unusually loud whinny. Seemed he had a whole different plan than what Nokomei had in mind.
Nokomei looked at her newfound stallion in a state of heartpounding shock, "Shhhh friend! What spirits are driving you to act so crazy?!"

Chamain quickly retrieved her hand and stayed low. Scared that the pale faces may attack her since she pointed at them. Looking up at Awnae, she saw that her mare didn't fear anything.
Looking fierce, she remembered meeting those pale faces that had a thing that would shoot out something. Not actually 'meet' the settlers, but she saw them. The thing shot out something that smelt like fire. It clogged her nose. Looking at all the other soquilis, she stood still and stayed where she was.

Astia shuddered. The smoke.. What Blais and Awnae had said. Was it true? The conversation had given her goose bumps all night. But it couldn't be true.. right? Peeking her bright yellow head out of the forest, and seeing nothing, she giggled at her silliness. There was no-one. She stepped out into the open, and began to nonchalantly chew some grass.

Chief Tawadi tried to calm his people down.. he blew his bone horn to signal they should get their weapons ready.
'Father! Don't do that.. I think the pale faces aren't dangerous.. .will you please listen to me??" Princess Soquili pleaded...but her words fell on deaf ears.

The noises of the 'animals' turned quite strange indeed. Even in the back of the group, Christien could hear a few more horses than the handful they'd brought along themselves... and a few things more. Ansel suddenly pressed himself to his 'master's' side, nearly bowling him over in the process. "Gah!" Christien yelped, a move that bruised his dignity a little though he tried not to show it; a blush was hard to hide, however, when your skin was paper-white.
"What the hell is wrong with y--" He started to ask his mount, lapsing into French by habit, though he tried not to speak too much of it around the English in their party. Christien cut himself off as Ansel once more moved against him, this time pressing the saddle against Christien's free, raised hand. "... oh.."
The boy shook his head and finally did as his horse instructed him to, mounting easily and looking about from the much higher vantage point there. He leaned forward just a touch, to pet Ansel's neck in a silent word of thanks. Wordlessly, Ansel picked up his pace a slight notch to try and catch up to the others.

Seeing her friend Astia, she galloped over to her. Made sure that the pale face didn't shoot. "Astia..." she said quietly. "There you are." Smiling at her, finally finding someone she knows.
The young girl wanted to yell at Awnae for making such a big move. Especially running all the way to another soquili. Ahhhhh!! Please don't let her die... She prayed to the spirits. Don't let anyone die!

Nashota ran up to the Chief and placed the thunder-stick down before him. "Chief, don't be mad with me," said Nashota. "I went to the pale-faces settlement and took this from them. Noone saw me."
A tear fell down her cheek, worried what the chief would do to her.
