HOD: Well, you can ask Jasta for it cuz she can pretty much do anything she wants in there. mrgreen I'm not sure how long we'll have to wait till it re-opens but I hope it won't be much longer. Fauxlorne: Well my dear Faux, we do have a Guild Directory but I'm not sure if it has everything you desire. Can you think of anything that it might be missing? Cuz I think we used to have a jobs thread but Mel felt like it wasn't getting used enough. I suppose that directory could tell everyone about what each crew member is supposed to be doing also but there hasn't been a need for it till now. Let me know, ok? Prema: Yes, I think that's a good place for them. 3nodding

Hi folks,
We can definitely work on a Guild Directory that expresses who is in charge of what forums and subforums, maybe even what people's interests are; I'll PM Mel about it and get her ideas when she's back on shore.
The RP lounge will re-open when it does; I wish I could say more, but I just don't feel right about unlocking it until Mel makes the call. On the plus side, it gives Ms Jo time to look around and come up with ideas tho. smile
As for the Library, I'm in charge of that--so if anyone has ideas, let me know and I'll institute them!
Hod, I don't see why we couldn't have cosplay pics in the RP forum; I'll suggest it to Ms Jo and Mel. My only suggestion would be that, for the most part, we limit them to guild-appropriate cosplay: Medieval and Renaissance-y type things, including pirates, SCA photos, that sort of thing. We do have occasional non-guild-specific discussions, like final fantasy games and other things of that sort, so... I'm betting there'd be nothing completely off-limits within the Gaia rules. In other words, nothing obscene or naughty. wink

Jasta pretty much does what she wants to in most places. *evil grin* Fortunately she usually uses her Powers for Good. smile

Gee Prema, that's too bad. I hope you feel better by now. 3nodding
Hey Jasta! I was thinking that since we already have a guild directory thread, that it could have the necessary things added to it so that it can be of more help to those who need it. 3nodding I doubt we're gonna see members posting any naughty pics or alike...
So, Jasta does what she likes, eh? And here I thought she was a saint! he-he rolleyes

*giggles at the thought of me being a saint* Umm... No. So definitely NOT a saint... *grins* But it's sweet of him to say so.
I doubt any of our folks would post naughty pics. smile
And yes, the directory thread might be a good place to put info about who does what, and who to ask about specific areas, etc. We'll look into that.
DM's back, BTW, as of today--but she's jet-lagging, so she'll be on when she can.

How do we get people useing different features in the Guild - - - my idea - - On the Front Forum - have a Feature of the Month / Moment? - Something that we are focusing on, that month! - - Maybe the Question of the Week in the Fantasy Forum just got a new question - or a really heated argument in the Library about the latest novels we've read. - or maybe someone just posted some new artwork... *go check it out kinda stuff!*
I'm not sure if I'm being clear enough but I hope so.

* Faux:
That's a good idea. I had a thread for it on another guild but it wasn't working much cuz of the lack of activity. I suppose that won't happen here since things are going well. I'll ask Mel about it too! wink
* Prema:
I don't think we actually need a whole sub-forum just for that but, a thread would be a fine idea. I'll run it by Mel also, k? mrgreen

I just have a suggestion. I hope you don't take it the wrong way but i'm a captain too and my guild kinda died on me now I'm in the process of reviving it. I had alot of topics that hadn't been posted in in months still on there. I was just letting them sit there hoping that someone would post. But no one did and then i started to delete them and it made my guild look more professional. I also started to demote and ban all the people that never posted, I told them if they wanted back in that they had this one last chance to start helping in the guild if by doing nothing more then posting. Now my guild doesnt' have all that many people but, they are active and the ones that want a crew status earn it by showing that they are willing to help the guild out. By posting and following the rules set by the person that made any rps that they were part of.

Well, it's good that yer guild is on a revival process, best of luck with that!
You know, what you are doing on yer guild sounds a lot like what we do here already. Mel rewards those who are active and those who help members as well.
Have you tried to motivate some members by giving out prizes to the most active in the month? That's sort of what we did here for a while. 3nodding

We do try to keep up with either culling topics when they die, or changing the focus; we've got a good core of folks that are pretty active and keep an eye on that sort of thing. But those are all good suggestions!
Prema, I like the idea of a topic where people can post for advice when problems crop up; Lord knows I've seen enough of that lately myself. We'll see what Mel thinks.
