Albino_Penguin_333 Ah, you know it almost might be worth him being a girl just to see all the fan-girl's (including me xd ) reactions. I would just keep think Deidara is a boy even if Deidara turned out to be a girl. Deidara just doesn't look girly (his face anyways) and uses the word oira which only guys use.

I think Deidara's a boy. When he calls Sasori "danna," I read/was told that it meant master or something, because he looks up to Sasori for his art. And since everything I know about the Akatsuki was learned from fanfics, fanart, my sister and random episodes I snuck in on while my brother was watching them, I've only ever really seen boyish and/or yaoi pictures of Deidara. Yeah. Oh, and saying Deidara looks feminine is something that possibly can't be said by me since I also think Itachi, Sasuke, and sometimes Naruto can look cute/girly/feminine. Naruto rarely falls into that category, but still...I've got stickers. 3nodding

Wow, I didn't know that this was a big debate!
I personally think (Sorry guys!) that Deidara is male. Excuse me if this has been said, but I still believe there is room for him to be female, too, since he/she has only made one appearance in the anime thus far. Once the anime introduces him/her into it, then we'll all know for sure. Until then, we all can regard him/her as whatever gender we want.

There is too many evidence about Deidara being a guy so he is possibly a guy. If he turns out to be a girl then... oh well.

The artist of Naruto draws guys' faces and girls' faces differently. Deidara has a girl's face, which means there is a translation error. I am very good at noticing these things (see my post), so I can interpret the pictures better. Deidara is a girl.

I am very good at noticing these things (see my post), so I can interpret the pictures better. Deidara is a girl. But his face has become more manly in the later chapters. Then there's Haku, who was the girliest girl in the entire series, and he was a boy.
Besides. Deidara's voice is real manly and deep in the anime.

Well, I watch the anime on Cartoon Network, so I would not know what Deidara's voice sounds like. However, Haku's face was a boy's face from the beginning. I guess the artist could have wanted Deidara to be a girl, but the anime turned Deidara into a boy since the artist did not specify.

*frustrated* Everyone had the same voice in the anime, when the Akatsuki met in that cave. Obviously either this weirdo deep/same voice thing has to do with the jutsu the Akatsuki members used to 'appear' (since it wasn't really them, but only 'projections' of them) in that cave for the meeting, or else individual voice actors for the characters hadn't been chosen yet. Most likely the former, since Itachi sounded the same as everyone else who talked, and he obviously had a voice actor by that point. Thing is, as I've said before, when Deidara spoke in that deep, really uncharacteristic manly voice at the Akatsuki meeting in episode 125, it proves nothing. Deidara's voice will most likely(like 95% for sure) sound quite different from that once he or she makes his/her official appearance in the anime.
As for the cloak... true, Deidara is kinda 'flat', but that's a pretty damn big and billowy cloak. Not every girl is extremely 'well endowed', and even if Deidara was, the cloak would still hide quite a bit. Ah well, what can I say? We won't know for sure till Dei appears in the anime I guess...
