Hey guys, I had another player post a char in the sheets thread. I *WAS* holding the 8th place for someone, but he may be a while with his char...
Should I let blakat1313 bring a Paladin into the game?

In some countries our group would be considered illegal.

Should I let blakat1313 bring a Paladin into the game? a Paladin and evil sorcerous? I think thats like the original Odd Couple or something

yeah, it could take some working to put a chaotic evil character in the same party as a paladin...even if she wants to be better.

I would actually say no because it would kinda turn into a mess! They would both want to kill each other and if the paladin didn't ry then he would be breaking his code!

I actually have played in a party with an NPC Paladin before while my character was/is a NE Teifling Cleric of Vecna. The Paladin didn't seem to notice but that may just be because he was an NPC.

It all depends. But yes, if the Paladin has any reason to believe she is CE (it's not like aligntment is written on your forehead) there would be trouble. Unless the DM finds a reason to keep the Paladin from doing so. I would suggest giving the other guy a little time though, as you did give him permission first. Send him a PM, and give him a few days to answer, if he doesn't, or says he can't be on enough...then it's up to you, DM. But as soon as the Paladin uses something to detect alignment, or the sorcerer does something particularly evil, there would be trouble.
On that note, there is something interesting I wanted to try. Binding the lives of a Drow cleric or...something, and a Paladin. So if one died, the other did. And for added incentive, in case the Paladin was zealous enough to kill something evil even at the expensive of his own life, have him have important information that needs to be given to someone, or some other incredibly important mission, so that to sacrifice his life would unleash a far worse evil than the single drow he's been bound to.

He was bound to a drow? I'm confused, I don't think a paladin is whay we need right now, but then again I could be wrong!

this is just an idea I've been entertaining in my head, I haven't thought it completly out, but I did screw up in not mentioning that they'd be bound by like, an artifact or something. Perhaps they both put on a ring they found in sperate places, and the ring can't come off or something. But yeah, it's not something I've thought out much.

Yeah, it's that whole detect evil thing that could cause a problem, in my experience "at will" usually means they use it every other turn or so.. The other thing I was considering was that this party is getting pretty large. I have the 8th space in the game reserved for Peacepipe right now, but I've had 2 people ask to play now.
