well.. inside is air-conditioned! there's no wind. (YAY!).. um. the audience is a lot closer, and everything is a lot louder. Being inside is so much better than being on the field. Once you are on winterguard, color guard isn't really the same.

Being the Guard Boy is a lot of fun, I would say that my favorite thing is the Rifle, but since I'm used to throwing our 11 pound M-1's from JROTC half the time my rifle goes like 30 feet into the air or I just show off xd 3nodding
Sabers are also good, but again since I'm in JROTC as well (and a fencer) spinning a saber just doesnt seem right....
Y'all probably have no idea how much s**t a guard guy gets, Everyone thinks they're gay, its quite funny

each year some of the guys in my band kiddingly say they'll try out for guard, and they never do. they claim it's 'cause they would look horrible in the girl's tight outfits, but...no. it makes me sad. i'd love to have a guy on the guard.

We used to have guys in our guard, but they all graduated. They were gay, anyway, but they were really cool.

Actually thats how I got started, I made a bet with my friend for 100 dollars that I would not only make guard, but I would stick with it for the entire year... Two years and 3 football seasons later I'm still in it 3nodding

Taralyn hey! um...this is my first year in winter guard and we were watching some tapes of old performances....is it a lot different preforming inside rather than on a filed? sweatdrop Oh yes!!!! It is alot better because there are no pesky band people in the way, the music is more fun, and its inside, in the A/C. Actually, I'm not sure why its so much better...but it is!!! w00t!

Yay for guys on guard! I always like going to competitions and seeing how many other guards have at least 1 guy in them. Not very many. I'm the only guy in our guard and after I graduate this year I doubt there will ever be another one.... sad. crying Oh well. I'm still coming back after I graduate to be a guard tech and whip our guard into shape!
