One of my closest friends is someone I met on Neopets((XD Seriously, don't laugh)) over three years ago. We were both really stupid at that time and I guess since we had so much in common, we stayed friends. We haven't met yet, but we plan to eventually. She lives far away and we both are lacking a license and a car sooo... XD
I don't think my Mom would care if I wanted to meet an online friend in person. I told her I was going into the city to meet Kitsune Chan, and she didn't seem to mind. XD I'm almost eighteen anyway, so she wouldn't forbid me from going, or anything like that.
I think as long as you go to a populated area and have a few friends with you when meeting people from the internet, it should be okay. :3 And obviously, you should have known them for a while.

My name is based in french too. =) I was going to give gold to whoever guesses my name right, but then I realized
a) nobody has the patience for my nonsense
b) I already gave my name away in the introduction thread.

@KitsuneChan: I'd rather have a name people can pronounce. I didn't think that "Chelsea" is hard to say, but apparantly, it is since 1/4 of everyone I meet mispronounces it. XD~
@pixi: I actually went back and checked that thread since I couldn't remember ever hearing your name. XDD I'm glad that you hadn't actually posted it and you had to edit your post or else I would have felt inconsiderate for not remembering.
I really like your name. There's something nice about it.

XD It's funny, but one of my good friends is a chelsea and a lot of people say her name incorrectly too. I thought it was always one of the easiest, but then I met a chelsea that really does pronounce her's completely differently.
The Ch make a K sound, so it's more like Kelsey.
Nobody ever says her name right the first time. 0.o;
Oh, and thankyou.
I never much cared for my name when I was a little kid. I looked it up in a baby naming book once in 4th grade, and it said that it means unfortunate one. Then I found another definition of it sometime later that said Mallory stems from the root word mail like a knights armor. I like the shiny explination better. =)
Where do the names Chelsea and Courtney come from?

XD "unfortunate one"? That's amusing. I like the shiny explaination better too.
I think "Chelsea" is some kind of name having to do with a seaport. Like, there are a few cities that are around water called "Chelsea". I've never really thought to look it up though. My explanation is just what I remember from someone telling me.

Mallory's a cool name but it kind of reminds me of ducks. XD And "Chelsea" is pronounced "Chel-see" right? Anyway, people always get my last name wrong even though it's really simple. rolleyes They try to over-do it and give it a fancy French pronunciation even though it's just a really lame British name. As for Courtney, I read that it means "The Protector" in the Bible, which I really like. But translation from *shudders* French, it means, "Domain of Curts" or as more of a nickname thing it means, "Short Nose." gonk Stupid French...
