Continuing their streak, they dove for a tangle of Thread that threatened one of their wingmates, and Zijianth flamed it down before it could do anyone any harm.

A strong gust of wind suddenly pushes you off course and right into a sliver of Thread! If you're a bronze or brown, you or your dragon take a scathing hit, unable to get out of the way. [Minor Damage -3 HP]
Orthoth rode the unpredictable and always shifting winds as best he could. Being heavy, he navigated his way between dangers most of the time. This time, however, a very strong gust of wind caught in just his right wing and he tipped and moved, trying to adjust. He hadn't made sure that the sky was clear around him, however, and a clump of Thread struck his left flank, startling a bleat of pain out of the bronze.
Your dragon spots a few clumps of thread being blown about in front of them. If white, green, or blue, they manage to catch a pocket of air and surge forward, flaming down two of the three clumps, before dropping hard and getting the third. No thread's slipping through on your watch! [+3 Target Accuracy!]
E'mel pushed Brieteth after a few clumps of Thread that were threatening to get away from them, doing his best to push through the heavy sadness that had laid itself over his lifemate over the loss of one of their own.

Your dragon hits a sudden thermal of air, threatening to push them up unexpectedly, and to miss their target! If a green or blue, you're thrown completely off course, and your wing hits a tangle of thread. [Minor Damage -3 HP ]
They were briefly blown off course from their dive, Brieteth reeling with a small kreel of dismay as he and E'mel were pushed into a tangle of Thread. E'mel ran a hand over his dragon's shoulder before pushing them Between again.

Something doesn't feel right. You wind up glancing over your shoulder just in time to see a small, silver strand drifting dangerously close to your dragon. Thankfully, your dragon shares your thoughts, and is able to blink Between and higher above their position, missing the strand, and saving yourself from a score. [+1 Instinct]
They'd only just gotten back into position when E'mel couldn't help but feel like something was off, glancing back over a shoulder. He'd not even shared the thought consciously with Brieteth before he'd lept to a safer position, turning grey and red eyes upon the clump.
That was his E'mel and Thread would not touch him!

NPC Roll for Firestone! Old man A'lion and Blue Kriketh!
Kriketh's may not have been as quick or agile as he used to be, but that didn't stop them from being able to play their part, and play it sharding well! As a request for firestone went out, the blue expertly positioned himself just underneath the young bronze dragon. With a grunt of effort, A'lion easily threw the sack up, up.... where it was easily caught by the bronze's rider!
Satisfied, the pair dipped back down to the Queen's Wing, their duty done for now.

You check in on your dragon to ensure they're doing all right. Thankfully, your dragon responds that they're feeling fine. All that training and practicing is coming full circle, as your dragon isn't feeling particularly fatigued. If your dragon isn't suffering, you are allowed to quote a fellow wingmate (must be in your same wing) who is suffering the effect! Your dragon trumpets at them encouragingly, making them feel better, and giving them a renewed burst of energy and effort. Remove Fatigue Effect from one wingmate!
You alright? D'zrak dealing with the loss of any dragon was hard for the empathetic beings, tossing Slidrianth some more stone to chew now that they'd been restocked. I'm going to have scars. Slidrianth grouched, lamenting his beautiful hide... but only D'zrak would be privileged enough to know about it.

The lower altitudes were definitely quiet for now, but both dragon and rider remained alert. Better to be prepared instead of being taken by surprise!

Trying valiantly to catch some thread, your dragon flames a bit sooner than you would have preferred. Surprisingly enough, the flame is long, hot, and sustained longer than usual. Your dragon manages to flame the clump and return to their position in their wing. [+1 Flame Length]
Another bit of Thread snaked down from above, and both dragon and rider honed in on it. Slidrianth unexpectedly flamed, and D'zrak fully expected them to come up short.... only to be impressed as the tongue of fire licked out and incinerated the Thread.
You doubted me? The bronze couldn't help but sound a little smug, and D'zrak pounded his fist against his dragon's shoulder with a grin.

Slidrianth's wings were steady as he made certain he was still in perfect formation. No doubt things would grow more chaotic as they ascended to higher altitudes--but he was feeling... well enough, for the time being. With luck, they would suffer no more losses... but Slidrianth didn't hold too much faith in luck.
