Jason had been putting in a lot of work these days. With graduation behind him, he was looking toward his future. He was job hunting constantly, though still happily employed at a small local paper. He had grown more fond of photography over the years though and was trying to find employment with a photography company. Maybe even open his own studio. That was a whole mess of other things to look into though.
His eyes had been glued to his laptop screen all day and somewhere in the evening Nischal had gone to bed before him. It wasn't until he stretched and felt all the muscles tense from his movement that he realized just how long he'd been sitting there. It was so late and this could be worked on more the following day. The humming of his laptop silenced as he put the poor thing to rest for the night and he made his way into the bedroom to change.
As soon as his head hit the pillows he was out.

His dream was reminiscent of something he hadn't been concerned about in a long time. Graduation might have triggered something deep in his subconscious. A time when he was fairly certain he'd be following in his father's footsteps despite his own interests. He was wearing scrubs and had an ID pinned to his shirt and was hurrying about in the hospital where his father works. Time seemed to be speeding forward and he was running and running.
Until finally, his feet gave out under him and he was no longer running. But falling.

Jason was all too aware of the fact that this was just a dream. He felt the panic rise up in him as he continued to fall. He couldn't see the end of this ravine no matter how much he squinted his eyes. Nor could he force himself awake either. It was just something that happened when you fell in a dream. You just woke up, but that didn't seem to be happening here at all.
It felt like ages, but when he did finally land it took him a moment to realize he'd even stopped. That there was indeed solid ground under him.

It took him a moment to push himself up, unsure of whatever ground was beneath him. As he stood he couldn't help but pat himself down to make sure he was okay. Even if this was a dream, he still wanted to make sure nothing was broken. That he truly was okay. Then his eyes turned toward the sky. A sky with an impossibly large amount of stars. He couldn't make out any constellations. though, he wasn't sure if that was because he wasn't truly that familiar with them himself, or if it was a sky that he was totally unfamiliar with all together.

The fall was over at least, but his heart started to race again when he heard a sound from behind him. He spun impossibly quickly to see a figure shrouded in white. He was ready for some sort of a fight, but upon seeing the smile on the figure's face he immediately felt at ease again. He didn't know how he knew, but he knew he was safe.

This figure seemed to be sorry about something, Jaosn assumed that maybe somehow this was their fault. They looked a bit concerned by his presence here. Like they were sorry he couldn't just be lifted back out. He still couldn't force himself awake either, even after pinching his arms. It just hurt his 'dream' self to do so.

He stepped closer toward the figure shrouded in white as a look glazed over their face. A lot that Jason could only describe as an 'aha' moment. They fished around in their shroud and produced a handful of glitter. Jason barely had time to give him a curious look when he threw the glitter in the air. He closed his eyes, prepared for the glitter to fall around them, but when he opened them again it had actually taken to the air.
