Saris
It seemed her earlier fears may have been unwarranted. Despite all the crowding nothing bad had happened; no pushing, no quarrels, no confusion. The young girl was starting to unwind and the happiness of having her little green was starting to settle in. Names were already swirling through her mind, but one sounded like a good fit above the rest. Vell, a nice strong yet pretty name for her willful new friend.

Despite all the hatchlings that had found friends or homes, there were still several getting their bearings and a few still left to hatch. Some of them were very pretty with their unusual tones and patterns. She even smiled at the antics of the bronzes, that was rare for the candidate. Of course she was content with Vell, but many of those around her had so many and were still trying to lure the attention of those still in the basket. Could she really have another? Was that too greedy? She still had meat in her hand that Vell was too full to eat.

Dratani
Being so close to Ostarath she had seen her rider finally make an appearance. Poor man, run haggard by a dragon still so young. They did look happy together though, but the harper was just a little too old to dream of that life now. She had the next a decade or two to work on becoming a master, composer preferably but if new melodies continued to escape her maybe a Mastersinger.

It was almost the end of all the excitement now, only a few yet to break shell and the handful left that had would quickly find owners. Some had seemed happy to dart off in search while other waited or preened for attention. How bizarre was some of those shades! She stepped closer without even thinking, wanting to observe them closer. Oh how rare! Could dragons also come in such a variety of hues? Of those in the Weyr currently there were a few that could rival these tiny cousins, some almost could not tell if what they were.

Vasilir with Grace and Honor (exiting)
Grace crooned happily at the little blue as it looked up at her. Yes, of course she would really feed him! She would feed him and snuggle him and dote on him and love him forever, yes she would! Oh, she couldn’t wait to start!

And it seemed she shouldn’t wait, either; the little blue seemed completely disinclined to get up and meet her halfway, so Grace wasted no time clambering carefully into the basket to give him the piece of meat she’d brought in. Once he’d eaten it, she nosed at him and coaxed him up and out of the basket after her, where she trotted happily over to Vasilir, head high and radiating pride and joy at having acquired another baby.

Vasilir huffed a little laugh and reached down to stroke her back while the new hatchling watched on somewhat warily. “Got one, did you? That’s good. Alright, let’s take him back, I still have a lot of studying to do.”

Grace snorted at that - she knew for a fact he was doing a different kind of studying with whatever it was he had been staring at - but nuzzled into his hand before hopping back up onto his shoulder. Vas carefully - oh so carefully - picked up the little blue who allowed himself to be carried out of the cavern.

Since the little blue wasn’t technically his Vas couldn’t help but wonder if he still needed to name it, or if Grace would do so, or if--

His gold chose that moment to push thoughts of rain and thunder and storms into his head as well as pride joy happiness for thinking of a good name for her new baby so quickly, and all by herself! And if that didn’t settle the matter leaving no room for doubt, Vasilir didn’t know what would.

Cyrille and blue Adventure// Robin of Blue Glory and brown Majesty

Cyrille giggled, Adventure having eaten his fill before settling to re3st on her arm, the candidate moving to her sister. Robin looked down to the brown cheeping to her, gently picking him up. A smile, and she did indeed share the tasty stew meat, the brown immediately snapping up the hunks hungrily as he settled, Glory crooning to his new playmate encouragingly.

"Looks like someone sees you as generous." Cyrille teased her sister, and Robin smiled, laughing.

"Well, it can't be helped. They're all hungry newborns." Came the response. Cyrile nodded, a hand extending with the strips Adventure didn't eat, the blue coiling tighter as he eyed up the others before cheeping. Well now, so long as nobody caused him trouble, he could do with a nap, and his tiny chest heaved.

Amila, and greens Seistrewth and Cypress

Girelizards were impressing, and Amila glanced as Seistreth drew near, sniffing delicately at the edge of the basket before stepping away, rumbling low tones thoughtfully.

I hope there's enough meat. These hatchlings are ravenous. Seisteeth noted, before snorting gently, Cyress spreading wings to ride her breath before returning to Seistreth's snout, the green pondering. Did they need a herdbeast? Amila hummed.

There's people enoughto feed them love. Be calm. It's alright. the rider returned.

Lifa of Green Naysath

Lifa watched the firelizards move, arms crossing as Naysath sniffed the air again, and she motioned at the haytchlings.

They'll all Impress soon, love. Lifa reminded Naysath. The green sighed, stretching to watch silently. Otherwise, Lifa mostly observed, arms crtossed as she watched for trouble. Chaos always did hazard danger...

Oregano's Fair

What? That gold had just walked right on up and put food straight into the hatchling's mouth. They were allowed to do that? Oregano thought they just had to sit here and wait for one to come by and take a liking to them. Turning sharply she looked at Gren, Gally and Blackcurrant, cheeping an order. The three snapped suddenly to attention, jumping to their feet.

Gren and Gally quickly scooped up mouthfuls of meat while blackcurrant regarded his fair leader curiously. Oregano looked back at the basket with narrowed eyes, seeking out a good choice. Ah, perfect! Cheeping once more the three blues scampered forward towards the basket, right up to #25, who sat on the edge of her basket with flared wings and irritated eyes. Blackcurrant made a point of swaggering up and trilling at the green, while Gren and Gally crooned gently, reaching forward with their meat scraps. She was so pretty. So lovely. Maybe she would like to come with them? Their fair would love her and tell her how pretty she was every single day.

#12's head whipped around when someone stepped forward. His eyes honed in on Dratani immediately. Well, hello, her chirruped happily at the new focus on his attention. How were you? This was all very exciting wasn't it? The bronze reached out pleasantly towards the harper, stepping away from his clutchmates as he became intrigued in this new individual. His eyes flicked briefly to the meat in her hand, probably intended for the firelizard still in her arms, then back up to Dratani's face. Maybe it was rude, but would she mind? He was rather hungry now that he thought about it. If it was an intrusion #12 was sure he could find something somewhere else, but it just looked so good. No harm in asking, right?

Hellebore Bronze - Naïve, Disciplined, Sensible

He was so caught up in making sure there was as little left of his egg as possible, that #36 almost missed his clutchmate wandering away from him. Watching the mottled bronze walk away #36 gave a snort of irritation. Well, he had known that was coming. It wasn't like people stuck around for long. Plenty of his clutchmates had already left, why would #12 be any different? A large green head appeared, far bigger than anyone else and #36's narrowed eyes fixed on the green as she drew back. Come to gawk had she? The least she could do was feed him before she left too.

Bellflower Bronze - Destructive, Brutish, Suspicious

Thoroughly ruffled and irked, #25's glare was a bright whirling red as she looked at the trio of blue's that approached her. Briefly the green turned her nose up at them, but the way she looked at them out of the corner of her eyes showed she was still listening. Yes, she was lovely. At least someone was finally smart enough to notice. Fanning her wings the green posed under their adoration. This was what she had wanted. It wasn't so unreasonable a request to be adored was it? The mention of a fair caught her attention. A whole group of them to adore her? Well, she supposed she could live with that. Gracefully jumping down the green took a scrap of meat from first one blue and then the other.

Muscari Green - Decisive, Gentle, Arrogant

Only a few eggs were left and all were making progress. #8 and #10, drastically different in size, bucked and rocked near each other. Even knocking against each other from time to time. A wing burst from the side of #10's shell. A dark shining wing flexed in the air. Another bronze? The wing began to beat, forcing the gap larger until a body came tumbling out sideways. The firelizard climbed shakily to their feet, turning her golden head to look around. A jolt caught her gaze and the gold stepped closer to #8. Carefully she clawed at the cracks on the shell of the smaller egg, creating a gap large enough to poke her nose in.

A startled shriek and the gold leapt back, a thin scratch on her snout. Green ichor slowly beaded up along her nose, as red-eyed green slunk out of the pale pink egg. The green hissed and the gold backed up some more. #8 didn't ask for help. #8 didn't need her help. The green snapped her teeth at the much larger gold. Satisfied as the gold moved away the green turned her back, kicked sand towards the other firelizard as she stalked off. #10, to her credit, didn't seem especially upset by the encounter, her eyes not whirling away from blue. If anything she looked sad as her smaller sister prowled away.

Saris
The tiny shriek shattered what calm the young girl had managed to allow herself. It had all been going so well, everyone had been happy, and now one was hurt! "No! Don't hurt each other, please don't fight!" Her voice had finally found her, small and squeaky as it was, extending a trembling hand to the basket with the few scraps she had left hoping to destract them from each other. The scratch on the little gold's nose brought tears to her eyes, as silly as that was. It reminded her too much of the past...

Dratani
The happy little chirps of one of the bronzes she had admired brought a smile to her lips. She could see that while he was giving her his attention, the subtle movement of his eyes and head gave away his intention. Oh what a well mannered little lad to not snatch and instead seem to ask, of course he could have some food! Reaching in she carefully coaxed the tiny bronze on to her arm so he could be lifted out of the basket to eat in peace. The gold in her other arm gave a bit of a huff, but she was too full and comfortable to want to chase the bronze away. As long as he didn't disturb her he could keep their person occupied, besides she had already eaten all the best bits.

K'kaw watched as more flits hatched, but most importantly he saw his brother holding out bubbly pie "Kar, that is REALLY bad for firelizards, especially newly hatched ones" he said, hoping his twin listened. He shook his head though as a blue was making it's dertermined way towards his brother, ugh... fine, he turned his attention back between feeding the little green in his lap and watching the rest of the clutch, gasping as a gold hatched, then was clawed in the face by the green she'd been helping, well that wasn't nice .... poor gold.

K'kar had heard his twin but ignored the advice as he watched the blue that had been posing, making it's way towards him, following it's nose to the pie "HA!" he exclaimed to his twin, "see, it worked" sadly it was the only piece of pie he had so when the blue finished that, and nosed in the bag, he didn't find more than a few crumbs, instead sitting in the bag and starting to take for himself, what was in there. "I think i'll name you Pie, since that's what tempted you" he said, pulling the blue out of the bag, "Chew that bit before taking more you silly thing" he laughed.

Kindra had been watching the clutch, eyeing the two bronzes that hatched while the egg in her lap that she'd found earlier had cracks splintering down the shell. However, her attention was immediately drawn to the gold that hatched, Gold would be lovely, fitting for a holder's daughter surely.... she made noises towards the gold, even as her green sister hatched and drew ichor, it made her wince a little.

Asparagoth had been letting his little green eat all she wanted from the pile Kindra had given him, staring at her in pure adoration but even his attention was taken by that shriek and he looked over as ichor beaded on a gold firelizard's snout "Oh no, that was mean, oh you poor dear, it's okay, it will be okay, even we dragons can be very angry when we hatch and hurt even Ours" he said softly, encouraging, soothingly at the little gold, he curled his paws around his own green as the other, meaner one prowled away

Bereck

Unsurprisingly the moment a little golden face showed itself she was the centre of attention; he could give them the benefit of the doubt and put it down to concern for the tiny scratch on her nose but he wasn't that naive.

As #18 zoomed and fluttered around Tibia peeled off in pursuit, trying to cut the sprightly thing off and herd him back towards his human; it wasn't good for one so little to be off on his own, separated from the group! Besides his human had fish and wasn't that a nice thing?

Bereck meanwhile was watching #8 with interest, why had she rebuffed the gold so thoroughly he wondered? Had she felt threatened, or had she just been annoyed at having somebody poking into her egg before she'd wanted to emerge?

Bekah was late to the party, having had duties to attend to before she could get away to the call of the green dragon, who had hidden in the infirmary twice with a basket of firelizard eggs, Becka had been tempted at the time but had her job to do .... that and the dragon, and the searchers, had been quickly shooed off. The infirmary was no place for this much distruption....

When Bekah finally got away she arrived with a bowl of meat cuts, different meats and some fish but not an inappropriate bit of food for newly hatched flits to be seen anywhere, unlike some she saw with... shudder... bubbly pie... No, she was doing this properly,. She spotted Bereck and gave him a wave, glancing at those already feeding their new firelizards. She'd just missed a gold hatching but saw where many eyes were turned. She also contemplated the gold but for practical reasons, a gold, if she was calm and trainable, could be fantastic for training as a therapy flit and coupled with the bronze sat on her shoulder, who had been a perfect start, could produce clutches of great tempered babies, however for Becka, any flit would work, if it was hopefully good natured enough for what she wanted with them. She carefully moved closer to the wandering firelizards and tried to tempt any who were interested with meat in one hand, fish in the other while bronze Beeper looked on all the hatchlings with interest. chirruping supportive beeps at them to find someone to impress.

It looked as though #8 had been content to stalk off, until something made her freeze. A call that made her eyes whirl an even faster crimson. Don't fight? She called that a fight. Pathetic. The tiny green stared up at the girl for a long, cold, moment. In a flash of teeth and claws she leapt, landing squarely on the back of #37. Claws dug into the blue's spine as he shrieked, teeth sinking into his neck. The firelizard bucked, shrieking all the time to dislodge his attacker. As quickly as she had instigated the attack the green abandoned it, jumping away and turning her eyes to Saris, baring ichor soaked teeth in a grim mockery of a smile. Was that what she meant by a fight? No? It wasn't really a fight, was it? She was right, #8 could do better.

Turning her blood-red gaze #8 found #40 still sat among the remaining two eggs. Giving a low hiss she advanced on her sister, lowering her body as hiss turned to snarl. #40 hesitantly climbed to her feet, crooning gently. They didn't need to fight. #40 didn't want to fight. All she got in response was a shriek. Tell them that. The duller green looked around at the crowd as her brighter sister advanced. She didn't understand. They had made her so angry, but #40 didn't understand.

As she backed away #40 bumped into a pale egg. The almost white egg gave a shudder as the dull green's hide brushed against it. The weight of the emotion running through the hatchling. It lurched once, the egg exploding outwards in a shower of shards and a flash of even duller green. #24 raced forward. #8 wanted a fight, well #24 would give her one. The two greens collided in a tangle of claws and teeth, twisting in the sand, lashing tails and beating wings in all directions.

User Image

Quietly, #10 crept away from the fight. Leaving the basket she crossed over to #37, crooning gently. The blue didn't seem all that terribly hurt. His injuries would need mending, a series of punctures along his back and neck. They would heal quickly enough with time. The gold's nose was even less cause for concern. A scab for a few days and it would be as though it never happened. Despite that #37 wailed and lamented as #10 nuzzled him. Look what she had done to him, sister? Could you believe it?

Among the audience #18 was surprisingly receptive to the older blue, he crooned happily. What was a fish? Was it really that nice? It sounded nice. Maybe he would try it. #18 was happy to investigate. The little blue drifted around Tibia, but allowed himself to be herded. Going back with him sounded nice. His person sounded nice. If there was food then that was even better in his opinion.

Rocktrumpet Blue - Dependable, Brave, Rash

The fight on the sand had #34 skittering out of the way, the small blue finding himself close to #29. He looked at his clutchsister and let out a pitiful whine. With so many people he wouldn't find anyone to take him in. Nobody even noticed him with all their sisters about. Looking at #29 he chirruped. Did she think he would starve? The green turned her head and looked down at the slouching blue. There were plenty of people, what was he even thinking? She intended to wait for some decent food to be presented to her, not these scraps of secondhand flesh. Surely #34's low standards could take them though. Plenty would take him.

Out among the feet a blue firelizard watched. A person was wandering. And they had meat. From his forlorn spot on the floor #6 whistled in response to the bronze's beep. He had been abandoned down here. Ditched for a bigger and flashier companion. That was how it was. He could even hear it in the bronze's person. Everyone wanted a flashy companion. He wasn't a flashy companion, but the least she could do was feed him until he could make his own way from there. Still sat on the floor the blue looked up at Bekah. So how about it? She fed him and he'd stick around until she found the flashy companion they all wanted?

Bereck

A little flash of motion caught Bereck's eye and as he turned to see Bekah waving at him he smiled slightly and gave her a little nod in response, it definitely wouldn't do her any harm to have another-

"Oh, hello there." As Tibia returned to him, gently herding a rather striking little blue before him, Bereck raised his fish-holding hand and broke the body up a little with his thumb so that the hatchling could get at the guts. "What shall we call you then?" He wasn't going to break from his theme now! "You do have quite a pale belly, perhaps Marrow would suit you?"

Cyrille and Robin

As the sisters held the remaining meat out to the unimpressed firelizards, their small flit-flock crawled about to watch. Glory cheeped his joy to his siblings as Adventure was mpore interested in watching Majesty, the flit crawling about sniffing the offerings for tasties he might snatch.

"So few..." Cyrille admitted, and Robin nodded.

"Good homes though." She affirmed to her little sibling, and Cyrille smiled, watching.

Green Seistreth of Amila

The bronze approached sullenly, and Seistreth blinked. Oh! OOh, a hungry baby, and the female stretched, before creeling for Amila. The male jumped a bit as the rider approached, eying her and Seistreth cautiously before snapping a scraps hungrily, chirping grumpily as he watched therm. Hmmmnnn.

Lifa and green Natsath

The caves were calming, and Lifa hummed, shifting to watch the visible unimpressed firelizards, curious. Who did they seek? And more importantly, was this chaos hoinh to keep up aftyer this hatching?

Saris
The candidate had been timid before, but the green now horrified her! That poor blue did nothing wrong and now his dark hide was turning green from all the small wounds. The tears now began to flow, Saris holding in sobs. Who would want such a terrible little creature after that, and still the green was searching for fights? How many more had to be hurt to satisfy that blood thirst?

Saris wanted to do something, anything, but her voice abandoned her again. How much interfering was too much? Her trembling hand moved away from the hostile hatchling and closer to the injured, offering to take them and any others away where they can be safe, fed and cared for. They did not deserve to be attacked and battered like that.

Dratani
The harper was glad she had moved when she did, the little green terror now hunting the remaining residents of the basket. "Goodness, the thing might be feral!" She spoke what she thought. The bronze, let's call him Waltz, turned his nose up at his undisciplined sister with a small bark of dismissal. On her other arm, Aria seemed a good name, her eyes started going red. So the little green thought she was a bigger lizard? If she came over here and tried to cause trouble Aria would squash her!

It seemed that #24 and #8 had no intention of stopping their fight any time soon. They scratched, bit, shoved, pinned and bucked each other. The pair seemed rather evenly matched, with no green having a clear upper hand in the conflict. Meanwhile the others just did their best to stay out of their way. The only egg remaining, #24, had gone still. Almost as though they were seeking not to get in the way of the fight. #40 had abandoned the basket and was now trying to keep an eye on her sisters from the slightly safer space outside. #29 and #34 perched on basket's handle, just out of reach of the flared wings and lashing tails. #10 was still with #37 as he lamented the pain that he was in.

The blue stopped briefly as food was held out near him. His jewelled gaze shifted to Saris and he tentatively touched her mind. Oh, she was right! He didn't deserve this at all! Poor #37, he hadn't done a single thing to her and look what had happened? She was cruel was that #8. Cruel to poor #37. Saris understood how cruel the green was, right? She would surely scoop up poor #37 and take him far, far, away from that nasty green and her temper. She would tend his wounds and feed him treats, yes? That would be lovely.

Larkspur Blue - Melodramatic, Silly, Malicious

A small pair of eyes watched as one of her clutch siblings impressed. #40 didn't like it here anymore, the green wanted to go somewhere else. Somewhere people were nice. The little green started to walk away from the place she had hatched. There were a lot of people here, and usually that wouldn't be a problem, she liked people. Right now though it was kind of daunting. So many were looking at her sister and how beautiful she was. The green firelizard looked down at her comparatively plain hide. They all thought that her sister was so pretty, no wonder they didn't notice her.

She was a short distance away when #40 caught a tendril of thought. Green. They were thinking green. That green would be nice. That green was pretty. Maybe they would think she was pretty too? Following the thought #40 found herself in front of M'tha and Glafateth. Peeping softly the young green crept closer. Could she be pretty? Like they were?

Butterfly Pentas Green - Sociable, Patient, Relaxed

Perched on the edge of the basket it looked like #29 had no intention of moving until somebody offered her something good to eat. If she had to sit here and starve then so be it. Beside her #34 creeled sadly. He was hungry, he didn't want to have to wait for someone to come here. What if nobody came at all? Beside him #29 gave a dismissive sniff. Well if nobody came then that was just the way things were. If he wanted to go grovelling for food he was more than welcome to.

Sensing the blue's insecurity, and frankly getting tired of his company the green gave him a nudge. Look, right over there. There was a rider there that had plenty of food in a bowl, pick him. Still #34 hesitated and a thin strand of irritated orange laced through his sister's gaze. Oh, for the sake of their eggs, just go! The nudge turned into a headbutt that had the blue toppling into the sand. What if he didn't want him? The blue seemed to whine. Still on her perch #29 cheeped. If he doesn't want you eat his food anyway, at least then you won't be hungry. Or whining at her.

Turning from the basket and gathering what little courage he had the blue trotted forward, over to the two boys that looked the same. One was busy feeding another blue already, so #34 didn't want to bother him. Instead he stopped in front of K'kaw. Excuse him. Oh, well, if it wasn't too much trouble... That is- that's a lot of food you have there... Would it be okay if he- oh gosh. Could he, maybe, have some? If it wasn't too much trouble. Oh dear, that was rude, wasn't it? Never mind, it's okay, he'd go elsewhere. The blue seemed to be sinking lower and lower into the sand as he looked up at the young man. Oh, this wasn't going well at all. What if he stepped on him because he was so annoying?!

M'tha and Green Glafateth
Almost as if in answer to their wishes a dainty green made her way over to them. Ah! M'tha! Isn't she absolutely delightful?! Quickly feed her! M'tha smiled, "oh little one. Never doubt you are beautiful!" The pair focused on their new tiny green as M'tha fed her tiny pieces of meat.

Candidate Verria
Verria looked longingly at the firelizards as they scattered among the crowd. It seemed they were having no trouble finding someone to feed them. Someone other than her. Maybe she shouldn't have come here? They weren't like dragons, who would seek out their perfect match no matter what.

No! She couldn't let that deter her! Even if a firelizard wouldn't search her out, it meant that there just more options here for her. Surely one would find her to their liking?

V'lla and Brown Ardnamuth
She's trying, the brown informed his rider. V'lla looked around. She still hadn't gotten a pretty of their own yet. The eggs in the basket were almost empty. Some of the eggs were movingly sluggishly, and V'lla hoped all the flying around hadn't injured the occupants. She chuckled at the green sitting primly on the edge of the basket. That girl wasn't going to go to anyone, someone would have to come to her.

L'yan and Bronze Washawath
He nodded as the rider waxed on the virtues of her dragon. It was a common thing among riders he feared. L'yan hoped the pair attracted a cute firelizard to them. For his own part, all he could do was hold out a tempting tidbit and hope for the best. There were a lot of the little critters running around at the moment. Even a wild fair had joined in on the fun.

He almost missed the chocolate colored brown as the firelizard trotted up to him. L'yan jumped a little as the small brown jumped up to his wrist. "Oh! Well hello there little fellow. I guess you found me. Here's your reward." The rider let him have the meat he was holding.
