She was no longer worn out when she returned to her position up in the mid altitude wing, but Sarbath found that the wind was no less rough where she ended up than when she was in the high altitude. Or so it seemed in that moment. She eased herself into it, careful to keep each of her flames exactly on target so that she didn't miss, so that she didn't hurt another. Liaven's concern radiated in her hearts and she wouldn't let him down.

A hiss exuded from her as Sarbath instantly popped between, easing the pain of what had to be an errant strand. It didn't hurt so much that she couldn't fly through it, popping back out from between with a roar of irritation. She would prove this thread couldn't take her down.

Slowly she started to slide back into her rhythm again, Liaven's attention on point as she scanned the area for as much as she could reach in her position.

Dezerac and Bronze Vedmath 1/5
The altitude change was welcome, when it finally came, but there was still ample opportunity for things to go wrong - and almost immediately, Thread soguht to wrap itself around his tail. The bronze blinked away to shed it.

You're so focused on flaming Thread that you miss a clump of thread blows up on the wind -- beneath you! If a brown or bronze, your heavier size does cause your tail to get caught! [+1 Between Accuracy & Minor Damage - 2 HP!]

Dezerac and Bronze Vedmath 2/5
A stinging tail aside, things thus far seemed to be going a bit better for them with the shift in altitude. Vedmath flamed clump after clump, at least until the wind shifted and blew one back towards them, but he was able to quickly hop between to avoid being hit in the face.

Ouch! Feeding your dragon some firestone has resulted in them biting their tongue! This is going to distract your dragon for the next three rolls. Their flaming aim will go down, and they might be slower to dodge out of Thread's way.
They'd started to load up on more Firestone as they changed altitudes and Cubath, so focused on the changing task, rumbled angrily as she bit her tongue - AGAIN!

Dezerac and Bronze Vedmath 3/5
No sooner had they had avoided harm themselves than they spotted a wingmate in trouble. Vedmath bugled out a warning.

Quote a Wingmate who took damage to Nullify Damage for that post! The quoted wingmate can remove that damage, unless they have already returned to the Weyr for healing or are already playing out a KO'd scenario.

The wind is getting pretty bad. You struggle through, but wind up having to be extra alert for the windblown Thread! This is not a good situation to be in! [Geens, and blues wind up easily avoiding the blown Thread, their smaller sizes a great advantage.]
Even with a sore tongue, Cubath was alert enough to not take a clump of Thread to the face, though who knew how long that would keep up! There was a lot of wind in this new position still.

While conditions were still rough, things weren't quite as bad as they'd been at higher altitude, and Vedmath was able to continue weathering the wind without further issue.

As you're flying, the wind picks up again, trying to knock you out of formaiton! If less than 22 feet, you get blown out of formation, but are agile enough to avoid getting hit with Thread. Hurry now -- better make it back before your Wingleader scolds you! If 23' to 35', you're able to fight it, but wind up pulling a wing muscle. Whoops. Maybe you over-compensated. -4 HP
There was no time to worry about a bitten tongue when they were getting blown around! Despite having to strain to keep from being blown too far from position, Cubath managed to forget about her tongue to focus on a sore wing.

Vedmath had taken a few good hits while they'd been up at higher altitude, but the pain was easy enough to put out of mind while there was work to be done; even the fatigue that had started to set in had dulled, and in spite of the ash and ichor that covered him, the bronze was...actually feeling fairly good, all things considered. His wounds likely would need tending before the 'Fall was over, but they could wait just a little longer.
Dezerac wouldn't let him do anything foolish, though - they both knew all too well what it felt like to fall from the sky, and neither was keen to repeat the experience a third time.

A patch falls down ahead. You dive down, flaming as you go, and both rider and dragon are pleased to watch it turn into harmless ash. This is how it gets done!
See? Easy! Cubath exuded confidence despite how poorly the winds had been treating them. Xela let the green bask in it, feeding into her ego just a bit.

Xela took a minute to survey the area as Cubath adjusted back into formation....The winds are moving, I'd suggest you do as well! the green called out to Strigonth. Disaster could strike quickly and she'd have preferred if it didn't!

Both dragon and rider were picking up a bit - Karinne keeping Hrimnith focused on the task with an iron grip on his stubbornness less they repeat their earlier offenses.

Hrimnith-
I know! The blue jerked back suddenly as the wind shifts threatened the pair, blinking away to safety. Unfortunately they couldn't catch the offending clump after their escape and Hrimnith did not enjoy seeing it sink down and down to be somebody else's problem.
