Imara White
"Easy..." Imara whispered to the man next to her as she felt his arm hook in her own. She knew that reaction and if they weren't careful, she was going to have one angry, weapon wielding man next to her. "Maybe it's just a normal power outage at the plant."

Listening now to the others, Imara felt herself internally sigh. "Why not use your phone as a flashlight or something? Maybe we can find the door because clearly they didn't believe in windows back here." The words were to everyone in the room as her mind shifted gear slightly.

If she didn't have Mathias to consider, she would have just sat quietly, a look of annoyance on her face at being cast into darkness. But with as edgy as he could be when things repeated themselves...she didn't want to hear about it for another month.

"What kind of facility doesn't at least have the red glowing EXIT lights..."

Katie Catigern

"Don't need to sit down," Katie slurred her insistence, patting the helpful boy scout on the head. "Need t'...figure out who forgot to pay the electric bill..." She started to stumble forward a few steps, holding her phone up like a lighthouse in the dark over a sea of vague and unfamiliar faces. To be fair, she wasn't sure if she would recognize them with the lights on--her brain was feeling something like a soggy mashed potato, which made it simultaneously difficult to focus or to be particularly concerned about their locked-in status. She tried to send out a text, but she also wasn't entirely sure she had fingers anymore. Katie gave up, and just let her phone be the wobbly flashlight that it was.

And then she head a voice, a pretty voice, and her head whipped up so quickly that the rest of her body staggered to keep up. "Jack? Heeeeeeey, Jackieeeeeee..." She started scanning the crowds with her phone to pick out the other girl's face in the dark. "You're not gonna believe this s**t, Jackie, I was just fine, and then there was--a--a little frog dude," she giggled, tilting her head...or maybe it was the whole room. "And now we're all here, and the lights are off, and we're locked in, so...yaaaaaay." Her voice started to taper off as she lowered her phone, listening in on the hushed conversations.

She managed to step aside for the apology girl, shrugging with a lopsided grin in the dark. "It's all good, chica," she drawled with a yawn, "but the door's jammed to hell or whatever. It was like that when I got here, I think we're just screwed." And then her eyes lit up for whoever was laughing in the background, because hey, at least one person had the right idea.

Katie turned back to Toby, reaching for his hand. "Hey boyo, we gotta...find your mom or whatever. I bet she's really worried." She started to bite her lip, and then she shook her head, trying desperately with all two brain cells to focus. "You think they have, like...curly wire phones in the back? Let's call your mom."

Stormy Ortega

A few seconds after speaking, Xi Wang found himself the recipient of a new leg-clinger. Stormy, who had been sound asleep on the floor for one reason or another, bruised and battered for mysterious reasons, had been woken up by a nurse and then plunged into darkness before she could remember where and why she was. The darkness didn't help at all.

As was noted by her hard clinging to the man's legs.

"Can you call someone?" she whimpered at him and the woman he was speaking to, head buried into his pants. "Please?" She didn't do so hot at night anymore.

Mathis grit his teeth in the dark, barely suppressing the low, annoyed growl that started to rise in his throat. But it wasn't Imara's fault - and she could be right, it could be just a normal outage. And he could also find a cool million in unmarked bills tomorrow when he opened up the gym - he found that possibility more likely.

He couldn't fault her for trying to handle his rage. It had been - ironically - how their relationship started. Things just naturally went that way. So he counted to ten silently, taking slow, deep breaths, before reaching into his pocket, and fishing out his phone.

No signal - he grunted in annoyance again. "No service," He murmured back to the woman beside him. "I.Smell.Trap."

He none the less turned on the flashlight feature on the phone, keeping it pointed down at the floor to provide him and Imara a bit of light. He had no intention of moving unless absolutely necessary.

Which he suspected would be sooner than later...

At her final statement he smirked. "Well as you well know, love, that's a code violation - we should sue." His voice had that soft hint of amusement to it that he usually used when he actually wasn't amused at all - but was making a show of it to try and raise morale.

Dessie just listened to Ian talk about connections and his phone and how he needed a computer. She didn't even pretend to know how he did what he did but there probably wasn't a better hacker in the city right now, at least not one that is a 'good guy'... literally. While he was talking she surveyed the area, moving slowly and drawing Ian along behind her. She kept quiet but muttered a quick, "I know." She glanced down at the phone he was sending the text on and added even quieter, "Its for after. A starting point for them." A morbid thought really, but she had seen these things turn fast. She wouldn't go down without a fight, if one was even needed, but if she did she damn well wanted to make sure they knew what happened. She wouldn't disappear on them, not again. She couldn't.

Between the disturbingly minimal light filtering in from the windows and the various phones flashing light around it wasn't hard to find a wall away from any obvious openings. It justs happened to be near the nurses desk were a shorter guy was standing. A guy that asked if anyone got a signal which Ian replied with a negative. "Stay here, I'll be right back." With that warning she broke away from the tentative duo to weave her way towards the doors that led further in and when she didn't hear anyone she made her way back to Ian.

"Think it's got juice?" Dessie nodded to the computer set up behind the desk. If, and it was a big if, it did Ian could hack his way into their system. She hoped.

It was a better hope then taking one of the waiting room chairs and smashing through the likely bullet proof windows to freedom, which was her next idea.

She really didn't like dark and spooky places, it was hard to see who was coming at you in the inky blackness.

Toren Estel

Toren took deep long breathes as he tried to keep himself from shaking and when someone showed they had no signal, he moved over to see that both them and apparently everyone else couldn't make a phone call.

"Alright. Then something is really f - " He paused as he looked at them, debating his choice of words. "freaked up."

"I need....I need to check the exit." In short, he was leaving. Sure he had a chunk of his arm dangling but that was again, just a minor wound. He had treated way worse. This seemed baby in nature to him. A few stitches could fix him. He'd done it a million times. He'd just report to work stating they had a system issues and then appease them with a follow up.

Holding his phone, he moved to the exit only to see that other people were testing the doors to find out they were locked.

"Why....why would they lock the doors?" He said out loud to himself before turning and pacing beside the group he already spoke with as his anxiety and panic shot quickly past 100. Taking deep breathes, he pressed the light of his phone to his chest and tried to count backwards but the noise all around him and the stifling darkness wasn't helping at all.

Dark. Locked in. Was this them? Were they surrounded? Were they all around ready to grab at him?

Kneeling, he took deep breathes as he bowed his head down.

Don't throw up. Don't throw up. Don't throw up.

Briar had caught the flickering movement too, reddish eyes glancing towards the front desk startled at the strange shadow, but then his attention had been drawn to the man with the vomit and blood man yelling out something about a doctor, with enough expletives tossed in with the words to cause his Mum to wrinkle her nose in [i[that way–

Well at least she would have, had she been there - which fortunately she wasn't - as it would have meant him being bombarded with questions that he wouldn't have been able to answer.

He found himself glancing back at the front desk at Raleigh's question and then frowning because the shadow - or whatever the thing was - wasn't there anymore.

"I saw a shad..." he started only for the lights to suddenly go out.

There was a flash of light as Raleigh pulled out her cell, prompting Briar to pull his out, although the 37% charge on it wasn't going to be of much help.

"I don't have reception" he said as he slipped it away again, "But my phone's low on battery so it probably wouldn't be much good anyway - but it's weird that they don't have emergency lights or anything..."

And then Briar found his head swinging back towards the door sharply as someone mentioned something about the doors being locked.

For all her efforts to remain calm and rational, Desdemona felt her insides coiling tighter and tighter, like a snake ready to strike. Trapped, trapped, you are trapped, it's another trap - Gentle as it was, she flinched hard at Otto's touch, drawing in a sharp breath before giving the kind of laugh that was too deliberately casual. "I'm fine." Was it her imagination, or was the room getting warmer? - probably her imagination - the heat of the room, sweat pouring down her brow as she struggled, I will not break again, they did not break me then and they will not now -

Then some other unfortunate soul reached around to try the doors, and at his 'revelation' of the very things she'd literally just said, she snapped, harsher than necessary, "How very astute of you. My, detective, how about you use those razor sharp skills of deduction and apply them to getting the doors open instead of acting the role of a passive damn victim? My god."

Nothing might happen, of course. This was probably nothing. She was overreacting. "I'm really fine, " she repeated lightly, although was it more Otto's benefit or her own? "Let's just - here - " With that, she gently nudged Otto back a bit. It almost seemed like she was ready to just step away from the door entirely before she whirled, kicking the door with all of her might and a resounding SLAM.

It didn't give way. So she moved to try again.

Watching Dessie walk off into the darkness, which was punctuated by cell phone lights, he shook his head. He really didn't like her wandering off, but he knew she wouldn't listen to him really. She did what she wanted.

When she did return to him, and the small injured figure, he sighed and shook his head. "I doubt it. Unless they have an alternative power source...one they aren't using for the rest of the hospital. That would mean a generator of some sort..." And that they were lying about working on bringing power back. They'd be able to if they had a generator...but were choosing not to. "I could look but I doubt anything will happen."

As he had been going to say more, try and avoid the topic of why he was sending out a text to people when it wouldn't arrive for who knows how long, the smaller figure had wandered off towards the doors. "Locked..and if the windows haven't been shattered yet I doubt they will be." At least by them.

Kneeling down close to the figure, who seemed to be having some sort of an issue, he reached out to gently touch there shoulder. "Dessie....I think we should stick close...and be ready. For what I don't know...but I don't like this. Feels a bit like a cheap horror movie come to life."

Toren Estel

He tensed when he was touched and glanced with one eye that was too glossy and dead to be alive. "...they're coming... He whispered.

His hands held his phone in both hands making the flashlight illuminate his hands red. Staring at the tile work as he crouched, he started to rock as his breathing started to get fast.

...they're coming.
they're coming.
They're coming.
They're coming.
They're coming.
They're coming.

He kept this going as he rocked, his expression pale and wide-eyed.

Otto Moor

That hard flinch was the first indication that things were not fine, and that despite Desdemona's reassurances the sooner they got the ******** out if that room the better. It brought him back around to the conversation they'd been having just a few moments prior—chains—and he mentally kicked himself for a). Bringing it up in the first place, and b). Not realizing before this point that being trapped in a locked, dark room could be triggering to her.

In his defense he had no memories of the event, and legitimately didnt know any better, but he felt guilty about the current situation nonetheless.

He flinched as the girl spun around to snap harshly at another person trapped in there with them who'd reached around to just confirm what had already been stated. Which, fair. But it was a stronger reaction than was normal for Des.

When she urged him back he gave a little sigh, ready to lead her back to the chair she'd been sitting in, but then he hears the impact with the door. "Dessy!". Another impact, and Otto was reaching forward to catch her by the shoulders to draw her back against him. "That's not gonna help." Everything thats kept in hospitals and everything that goes on in them, they make the doors nearly impossible to break through. "You'll break your foot before you get it open."

And then they'd have to go tooa different emergency room.

Toby was glad for the dark, because he was certain the mention of ‘little frog dude’ prompted a rather frightened expression on his face before he realized what he was doing and made himself just look concerned at the situation—which he truthfully was.

“My mom’s fine,” he finally replied. “Nothing to worry about…besides I’m, er, almost 16. Not some lost little kid,” he sounded only a bit indignant. “Now why don’t you sit down before your jelly-neck spreads to your knees?”

That someone else had also nearly knocked them over was further proof of that, and, doing his best to stay completely calm (although this was starting to get a bit tough, honestly), he said, “Why don’t we all just sit for a bit…No need to panic.”

Unless this is another crazy attack, he thought. He’d been in this city for only a year, and already seen a few fine examples of those, after all.

"I have no reception at all" Arian admitted as he tilted the phone to allow Eunkyung to better see.

He nodded at her comment that they would hopefully get the power back on, his voice quiet as he murmured "I'm assuming so - I mean it's hospital so I'm guessing they pretty much have to."

His hand reached down to slip his phone away because others had also switched on their phone flashlights and Arian wanted to conserve as much of the 52% charge on his phone as he could–

But the minutes seemed like they were slipping by and the lights were still not back on and whilst Arian wanted to give the medical staff the benefit of the doubt, he couldn't help but feel the niggles of suspicion - niggles that turned to full blown concern when he started to hear voices say something about the doors being locked.

"I don't like this" and his voice was quiet, the words more for Eunkyung than for those around them.

"I can't...no signal." Showing his phone to the female. He felt bad, so bad, for telling her that. He was sure she was honestly scared, not to mention she'd just woken up to all of this. "Something happened that cut the power." And he didn't like it, he didn't trust it. He hadn't been a dark mirror senshi for long but he had learned quickly not to trust things like this.

This city was not safe, hadn't been for a long time, but big events weren't safe and when things like this happened it just wasn't good - it wasn't safe. But why here? This place was small and nothing special was going on here...so why here? Because he was, at this point, sure something was going on...something big and something dark. He didn't like it. He wanted to just power up so he could feel a bit more comfortable, like he had some power...plus he really wanted the plushie he had stored in subspace.

As he looked around though it looked like someone else could use a plushie more than him - they were panicking it looked like. Others looked more injured, or sick, than he was...more in need of actual care. If this went bad...they were sitting ducks.

"Who is coming? Who is going to get us?" he asked, concern evident in his green eyes, and in his voice. He kept his words a whisper, just so himself, the stranger and Dessi would hear. There was now reason to let other people hear them and start some sort of panic. He didn't think that would be a good idea.

"Do you know something?" Though he doubted it .The other was having some sort of a panic attack....? So were they flashing back or thinking this was similar, or the same, as something else? What exactly was going on with this stranger, he really should have gotten his name first.
