Sailor Phaethon || 11/30

The unconscious senshi was picked up and taken away by someone who looked like they knew her, so Phaethon was relieved that she wasn't, at the very least, going to get trampled. He hovered anxiously, not sure what he could do where he would be of any use, and the fire was spreading. Seeing a couple of people running in to try and grab people still in the building, Phaethon figured that was something he should be able to do. He was still a bit unsteady on his feet, but otherwise felt fine.

Steeling himself with a deep breath, Phaethon ran into the burning building. He searched for anyone he could find through the smoke, but that smoke burned his lungs and the phlegm he coughed up after the third person was already turning grey with the ash in his airways. The heat and lack of air made him dizzy on top of it, and the room spun after the fifth person.

After the seventh person he dragged out and gave to whoever would take them, Phaethon was forced to admit that he couldn't go back in right away. He paused to try and catch his breath, watching with dismay as outer, weaker parts of the structure started to fall off due to their mounts and fastenings being burned away. A wracking cough in the next moment told him he might not be able to go back in at all. The knowledge that there were still people in there, though... He could hear the sirens, knew help was coming, but...

He had gotten some of them out. He had to be content with that.

He was not content with that.

But he wasn't about to end up one of the names that would be in the paper tomorrow. He didn't even like the theater--his family would have no idea what he'd even been doing down here... Phaethon paced anxiously, wanting to go back in, but being stopped by the way the heat curled his hair and singed his skin every time he got close.

Swearing under his breath, he turned to go as the fire department and media came on the scene. At least, in the pandemonium, it was easy to slip away.

Pat O'Ryan: 3/45

Pat kept a close eye on the fire that was rapidly growing even as he nodded at the kid in thanks for the extra light. He was risking his own neck trying to find any survivors and apparently the senshi decided to try his luck too which made the redhead even more anxious. He moved as fast as he could, becoming more discouraged after he moved on from each still form. How many of these people were direct victims of the negaverse? How many were just collateral damage? Why had this happened?

"Damn them, damn them to hell," He muttered as he checked yet another still form before smoke had him coughing. They were running out of time! For a split second the emt was torn between the senshi's and his life and the possibility of finding a survivor. He wanted to stay but he also knew they needed to get out, finally sanity won out and he turned to go. Only to whip around when he heard a very faint cry, almost lost in the growing roar of the flames. "This way!" He snagged the kid's wrist and tugged him towards the sound to find a woman slumped on the ground and a child wedged under the seats hiding.

A fast check proved the lady was still alive, for now at least, and the child was the one crying. "Here, you take her I've got the kid," With more muscle then finesse he passed the mother off to the senshi, "Your stronger than I am right now." It took longer to cox the terrified child from his hiding spot but finally Pat was able to pick the young boy up. "Lets go," He urged his powered companion forward, towards the exit, towards fresh air... and cops and other first responders. "When we get close you might want to split before anyone spots you."

Sailor Hamal: 9/30


She was surprised to hear that familiar voice, Liryn, and called out weakly to the cat. "I'm here - I - I'm ok." She wasn't, she knew it, but she wasn't going to worry the cat over herself, not when others were likely worse off than herself. She worried about the cat being here, this place was packed and Liryn was such a small cat. He could get trampled and hurt by people. Moving, slowly, towards the cat she kept a close eye on him...at least she tried to.

She could smell the smoke and knew it wasn't from the Captain, this was different. The place was on fire and she had to get out - she knew that. But Liryn was there and she needed to get to him and get him out, he might get trampled by people and not make it out.

Heading towards the cat, even as he shouted her name, she fell to her knees by his side.

She had been about to suggest they find Athene, as she was sure he was here if Liryn was, but then she heard the braided eternals voice and smiled softly. Lifting her head to nod slowly. "I'm ok...we can get out of here now - together." Smiling even more, glad to know Athene was well and Liryn was here and safe. "Just...a bit banged up." A lie, an obvious one from the fact her uniform had burn damage, but she was as ok as she was going to get right now. They all needed to get out. "We can find a place to stay tonight." Athene's home...or her own, with her family, it would be good to stick together perhaps?

Guardian Cat Bernard: 30/30

Chaos had pretty much erupted as soon as Bernard had gotten in there. The door had come down, there was the smell of smoke, and people were running everywhere, desperate to get out. He had to hide himself for a bit just so that he wouldn’t get trampled underneath all of the people who were escaping.

It seemed that the situation was now out of control of either side, and that meant that he shouldn’t stay any longer. The problem was it was so hard to tell who was where and what was what that he had scampered around for a bit, trying to find his own way out and making sure that any senshi or knights who were in the building were able to get out. Luckily they all did so he didn’t have to worry about them, but there were still civilians inside of the building, some of them lost.

He had gone back inside, the fire now having spread quite a bit and the room filling with smoke, as he tried to find out who he might be able to get out of there, if anyone. The room was [i[filled with bodies, and Bernard sent out a silent thought for all of the wasted lives of those on the floor.

He was just about to go back out and run when he heard crying in the corner and saw a small child who seemed to be too scared to move away from the room. He jogged over there as quickly as he could, catching the child’s attention by meowing and pawing at the child. Soon enough they seemed to believe that Bernard was trying to help and grabbed onto his tail. The grip hurt, but he knew that the kid was doing it because they were terrified, and together they both got out of the building.

Firefighters, police, and paramedics were all there now, and Bernard led the child over to a group, where they took the child away and Bernard let out a sigh of relief.

He took one more look at the burning building and looked away in disgust. “It would seem that I need to be working more instead of indulging myself so much.” He muttered to himself, before he wandered off in the direction of his home, wondering what he could do from now on… It much more serious that he had seen before, and it would only get worse.

Eternal Sailor Athene // HP: 42/60

Athene looked first at Hamal and then at Liryn as he managed a small smile and nod, although he wasn't quite able to hide the worried expression in his eyes as he watched Liryn gently nudge Hamal.

"Let's go to my apartment" he said, even as he held out a hand towards Hamal to help her up. "My flatmate has the late shift at the hospital tonight, but we have a spare room which you are welcome to."

He knew that Orah wouldn't mind as they had agreed to set up the spare room for that purpose. 

"We can call your cousins too - let them know what happened–" 

Athene paused "That is if you'd like?" He made it a question - not wanting Hamal to think he was making decisions for her, even as he moved slightly so that he could help support her if she needed it. 

Whatever she decided however Athene would be there - whether that decision was to come with him and Liryn back to the apartment or go back home to her place - or even to drop by the hospital–

And yes he would need to let Orah know what had happened and try to get hold of Alice and at some point ring Anxo... 

But for now the most important thing was for the three of them to get out of here. 

 

Super Sailor Cetus: 45/45


Powering down, without being noticed, wasn't an easy task. It was far harder than picking up the wounded female and bringing her to an ambulance so they could get to the hospital. Without injuries to himself, aside from a bruised foot from the broken geta when he'd kicked the door hinge, Fai was able to tell the EMT's what he could without telling them too much...or rather without telling them the whole truth.

It seemed that along with the fire trucks a small army of ambulances had arrived...and he felt for them. They'd be busy tonight, no doubt, but also how many bodies would they manage to pull out, both the fireman and the EMT's. This was not going to be a good night for them, he was sure there would be nightmares for them for weeks to come.

"Hopefully you will be ok. I'll stay as long as I can." Since he'd helped get her out and get attention to them both. "I'll call someone if you want me to." At least for now they were both safe and away from the burning down building.

Now that he had stemmed the bleeding, maybe he could--

The sound behind him of something catching aflame was near unmistakable, and he swirled his head back just in time to catch the curtains behind him going up in a blaze of glory.

s**t.

Keeping himself from screaming out Arra was hard, but Encke suddenly turned on his heel and ran towards the stage, knowing that the hiding place he had requested Richard find was just beyond the stage. s**t. Had he condemned his love to his own death? He knew Richard was fast, but how fast was he? Had that fire started from the curtain? Had it caught from something else that was already on fire? What if Richard had already fainted from smoke inhalation and--

He wasn't in the pit. Well, that was good. Maybe Richard had already left--

No, he hadn't left. Encke watched as Richard scooped up a woman, scooped up a child, and charged towards the exit.

Encke couldn't help the weak smile on his face.

He only let himself pause like that for a moment before he decided to use his proximity to the stage and his own strength to his advantage. Encke searched out some people who were unconscious who likely hadn't stood a chance, picking them up and slinging a couple over his shoulders. He came upon another teenager who was conscious and suggested that she lean on him to get out. While initially frightened by the glowing on his body, she seemed to agree, clinging hard.

Once he gathered one more and brought all four outside, he caught the sound of the sirens.

He looked behind him, and the flames seemed higher.

Perhaps it was against his own common sense, but Encke ran back inside, performing the same move as he did before. He got as close to the stage as the fire would allow, gathering up more civilians where he could before dashing back outside. He was only one person, but he was also a transcendent eternal senshi, and he was determined to use up whatever energy reserves he had in the mission of saving more lives.

It wasn't until he could barely breathe that he ran up to Richard and hissed, keeping his tone low, "We gotta get outta here."

Chibi Sailor Anser stumbled behind the page who had pulled her aside, looking at the scene around her as she retreated. Was her hermano still in there? She saw bodies getting dragged out, she was fairly sure, but were any of them redheads? Were any of them long-haired brunettes? As they left, she suddenly came to a hard stop when she realized there was a redhead talking to a man who was a bit taller than him.

She couldn't make out their features, but she could recognize their mannerisms.

Anser separated from the knight, stumbling over to the two and wrapping her arms around Encke's waist. "Hermano," sobbed Anser, causing the blood in Encke's veins to go cold.

... s**t.

"We really gotta go."

Encke grabbed Richard's hand, not letting him protest as he went to find a location far away from this place.
