After recovering from your tumble into the maze, you begin to take in your surroundings. It's dark, and damp, and you're pretty sure the ground is covered in some sort of... slime. Gross. The walls are tall, made of a crumbling stone, and even when you squint you can't quite make out the ceiling. Regardless, you certainly can't climb up anything to cheat the maze, so your only option here is to go forward. It isn't long until the path splits up. You're not surprised -- it is a maze, after all, it couldn't be that easy -- but now you have to make the first choice of many.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any indications as to what you'll find in either direction. Both the left and the right paths look exactly the same -- well worn and ancient. Which way will you go?

A. To the left, to the left!

B. I'm going right! That sounds right, right?

A. CORRECT
Whatever your reasons, you decide to go left, only to find... nothing. Just more uneventful walking. Wasn't this place supposed to be legendary for its dangers, lurking around every corner? How boring! Feeling more confidant, you puff out your chest and pick up the pace.

B. INCORRECT
You head to the right. While nothing seems to go wrong, at first, you eventually come to a dead end. Regrettable, but not dangerous. When you turn around, though, you notice a wall that definitely wasn't there before, blocking your way back. Oh dear. Frantically, you search along all the walls in the pathway-turned-prison for any weakness, any way that you could possibly escape, but... there's nothing. Trapped, you realize with dawning horror that your journey has ended here.

----------

The further you trek into the labyrinth, you notice the ground is becoming more and more suspiciously... damp. Slippery. Droplets turn into puddles, puddles into a pond -- the water becomes ankle deep when the tall walls suddenly gape wider into a massive room. As you pause to take in your surroundings, you see the room is entirely filled with dark water -- algae climbs up the walls and lily pads float idly in the water. You can't tell how deep the water is, but you suspect there's more to this lake that meets the eye. While thus far the journey has been perfectly safe, that can't last forever. How will you proceed across the lake?

A. Swim straight across as fast as you can. You like the direct approach.

B. Swim, but take it slow and careful. There's no telling what's in there.

C. Stick to the edge. Maybe it won't be deep there, and you can keep a better eye out for danger.

A. INCORRECT
You jump straight into the lake and make a beeline for the opposite end. In your rush to get to the shore, you don't realize that all your splashing has attracted some... unwanted attention. Something with a large jaw, rows of sharp teeth, and a thick tail. You're just about to make it to the other side when those jaws clamp tightly around your leg and, with a twist, pulls you sharply down into the inky depths...

B. CORRECT
Carefully, you make your way across the lake. The swim is smooth and quiet, save for the droplets of water that drip down from the ceiling. Every now and then, you think you see some movement in the water -- but you keep your steady pace and avoid it until you reach the shore, climbing back out of the water onto solid ground. You don't stick around to see whatever it was that was in there.

C. INCORRECT
Indeed, the water is shallower on the edge along the walls; you can feel the ground under your feet the whole time. Unfortunately, the algae in the water is making it very hard to keep your footing. One wrong step, and you find yourself slipping right into the water with a splash, struggling to keep afloat. With all the noise you're making, it's easy for the beast in the deep to find it's next meal...

----------

You shake off as much water as you can. You're still damp, but at least you're not dripping with water anymore, and the path ahead seems much drier. Following along more twists and turns, the dirt ground slowly starts to fill in with grass, and the quiet that greeted you before is interrupted by the sound of crickets and other insects buzzing in the air. The stone walls eventually stop, replaced with the thick trunks of tall trees. There are no flowers, but you do start spotting mushrooms dotting the ground as you walk, which eventually form and split off into two distinct paths of different colors. One goes to the right, a dull red mushroom with white spots. The other keeps going straight, a brightly colored purple with a faint glow. Which will you follow?

A. Follow the red mushrooms with white spots to the right. The glow from the purple ones is suspiciously ominous.

B. Follow the glowing purple mushrooms straight ahead. You're fairly sure the red ones are poisonous. No need to take any risks.

A. CORRECT
The red mushrooms are poisonous, but you're careful not to touch them as you follow along the trail, and you're certainly not going to eat them. Sometimes you think you catch a glimpse of a bright purple glow off to the sides of your vision, but you're immediately reminded of the other mushrooms and stay your course. You won't be lured away.

B. INCORRECT
As you follow the purple mushrooms, the glow seems to intensify as the world around you fades away into nothingness. You find you can't look away from the bright purple glow, hypnotized and helpless to their pull. Your head begins to feel fuzzy, and you quickly grow too tired to continue. A quick nap couldn't hurt, right? You lay down with a yawn, and find yourself quickly dozing off into a deep -- and quite permanent -- sleep.

----------

It seems you've made the right choice. The red mushrooms lead you out of the thick forest and out into a clearing. Just up ahead, you can see the entrance to the next part of the labyrinth. Eager to continue, you hurry towards the walls, glad to escape the dark, weaving paths between the trees.

A shadowy figure steps in your path, just in the way of the entrance. As you get closer, you see that before you stands a thickly built mare with rather dangerous looking horns atop her head. To her front leg is wrapped an axe, and judging by the blood stains along the sharpened edge, its seen a lot of use. As you're looking for a way to escape, the mare speaks up with a serene smile, though the look in her eyes is dark.

"Don't worry. I'll let you pass... for a price. Answer my riddle, and you're free to go."

"Say my name and I disappear. What am I?"

A. Say nothing and stand your ground.

B. "Minotaur."

C. Run! You're not falling for this!

A. CORRECT
You say nothing. First, it's out of fear -- but then you realize... that's exactly what the answer is. Silence! The minotaur seems to realize this, too, as she tilts her head up to look down her nose at you in anger. "... very well," she says, after a few moments have gone by. "You may pass." She steps aside, and while she seems to be honoring her promise, you make sure to keep glancing back as you run down the next passage.

B. INCORRECT
The words are no sooner out of your mouth than you're facing down the sharp ends of the minotaur's axe, choking on the word as you collapse to the ground in agony. The minotaur releases her axe and laughs, leaving it wedged in your body. "You thought saying my name would make me disappear? How silly." It seems your adventure has met an unfortunate end.

C. INCORRECT
Well, technically, you were correct. Not responding was the right answer. Too bad you didn't hold your ground, though. She doesn't like it when hery prey runs. As you escape back into the forest, you realize why the trails of mushrooms were there in the first place, and quickly find yourself lost in the darkness. Eventually you hit a dead end, and as you turn around, your hunter isn't far behind. The minotaur emerges from the dark, a sinister grin curling her lips with her axe clutched between her teeth. Your adventure is over, but STAY TUNED FOR A RAFFLED PRIZE...

The Minotaur Mare would have been won here!

----------

Eventually, your worry that the mare lied and was following you anyway began to ease. You passed her test and it seemed she was honoring allowing you to continue your journey. You press onward, and your respite doesn't last long. You come to a room with noticeable stone tiles along the floor, and upon examining further, you come to the conclusion that you can't pass through the room without stepping on them. If there are any traps in here -- and you're almost certain there are -- you'll have to figure out the right places to step.

You notice numbers etched into the tiles, and a sequence of numbers etched onto the wall. The numbers read:

1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8...

To test it, you step on a tile with the number one on it. So far, so good -- nothing happens. You continue to follow the sequence until you reach a tile with the number eight.

But now what?

A. Step on number 10!

B. Step on number 13!

A. INCORRECT
You step on a tile with the number ten etched on it. At first nothing happens -- but then you feel a sharp, stinging pain in your neck, and numbness quickly spreads throughout your body. You didn't even have a chance to see where it came from. Before you know it, you've collapsed into the floor; you see another dart hit your leg, but you can't feel it. Even so, the poison is in your body now. It seems your adventure is over.

B. CORRECT
You step on a tile with the number thirteen etched on it. You hold your breath, hoping -- and after a few moments, you realized you've made the correct choice. The tiles follow the Fibonacci sequence! Encouraged, you continue across the room, and as you step off tile number 610 onto solid ground again you can't help but breathe a sigh of relief. You made it!

----------

Another obstacle down. How many more to go? Whatever it is you're hoping to find in the labyrinth, you hope you can find it soon -- and then escape with your prize. For all you know, what you seek has already been found -- but no one has escaped with it. Not yet. Not, hopefully, until you. Your journey takes you to yet another room -- this one with a sand covered floor. As you walker further inside, your feet quickly begin to sink -- and, with horror, you realized you've stepped into quicksand... and you're sinking -- fast!

A. Quick! Get to solid ground!

B. Don't move and stay where you are!

A. INCORRECT
You scramble your way to the side of the room. You can see solid ground there, where the sand is less dense. But, as you move, you realize you're starting to sink faster and faster! As you begin to panic, you trash through the sand as it comes up to your knees, your shoulders, your neck -- it's getting so hard to move, and as you're struggling to keep your head above the sand, you remember too late that moving in quicksand only makes it pull you down faster... your adventure has come to an end.

B. CORRECT
You freeze where you are. The sand is up to your ankles, but it doesn't seem to be sucking you down anymore. Of course, while this means you're safe from suffocation, it also means... you're stuck. Great. Now what? Surely there has to be a way out! You're still alive!

----------

As you stand there, your mind slowly filling with dread, you soon realize... you're not alone in the room anymore. Of to the side, standing on safe ground, is a short minotaur. He's regarding you silently, a frown on his face and eyebrows pinched together in thought. You're about to ask for help when he suddenly seems to come to a decision on his own. With a grunt, he heaves over a long, large branch out into the sand towards you. "Take it. I'll pull you out."

You don't hesitate -- you grab onto the branch, and the two of you work together -- the minotaur clenching the branch between his teeth and tugging backwards, and you gripping tightly as you wade your way back to solid ground. Once the two of you make it to safety, he speaks before you can even begin to thank him, his voice gruff and to the point.

"Look. I don't know what you think you'll find down here, but trust me; it won't be anything good. I know a way out. I can help you, but I won't take you to the end -- I'll only take you to the exit. If you don't come with me, you're on your own."

So what will it be?

A. Quit while you're a head.

B. Are you kidding? I'm not leaving now!

A. INCORRECT
You decide to cut your losses and quit while you still have your life. This place is just too dangerous! The minotaur leads you to a dark passageway you don't recall seeing before. "After you," he says, tilting his head toward the doorway at the end. You pass through, and feel something at your foot at the same time that you hear a snap! You're dragged up into the air by your ankle, and you find yourself now hanging upside down in a tree. The minotaur steps into view again, and he's smiling for the first time since you've met him -- and a worryingly hungry look in his eyes... Your adventure is over, but STAY TUNED FOR A RAFFLED PRIZE...

The Minotaur Mini would have been won here!

B. CORRECT
No way are you giving up now, after you've come so far! "Suit yourself," the minotaur shrugs. "Can't say I didn't warn you." He follows along the edge of the room back the way you came, disappearing into the shadows. You wonder, briefly, what he meant by that -- but then decide it was just a trick. Deadly traps and deceit -- they're all just tests of the labyrinth.

----------

Another path. Another room. It would almost be boring, if you weren't so on edge. You had no idea what to expect next -- so far, all the rumors of the labyrinth have been true. The traps, the winding paths, the monsters... you could hardly wait to see what was waiting for you at the end! Think of all the riches -- and the glory! Stories would be told of you! Your name would -- oh!

The stone you had just stepped on crumbled beneath you, falling away into a dark pit below. Luckily, you stepped back just in time -- although the pit doesn't seem to be that deep. The fall wouldn't have killed you -- and likely only left you bruised. You could swear the ground was moving, though...

Wait. Were those snakes!?

A. No way you're going down there. Jump across to the other side!

B. There's a torch on the wall. You could grab it and jump down. The fire could keep the snakes away.

A. CORRECT
You take several steps back to give yourself enough room to build momentum, and then take off running. You reach the edge of the pit and leap off with all your strength -- and land safely on the other side. A few stones at your heels crumble beneath your weight, and you can hear the snakes below hissing in protest -- but they aren't your problem now.

B. INCORRECT
You grab the torch and drop it down into the pit below -- and just as you suspected, the snakes recoil away from the hot flame at the end. You jump down near the torch and pick it back up, swinging it at the snakes as you slowly make your way through the pit, looking for the next path. Only... there isn't one. This was just a pit. There's no escape! You look at the multitude of snakes around you, hissing angrily, and realize now that they're just biding their time. Waiting for your torch to go out... it seems your adventure has come to an end.

----------

The winding paths seem to be getting steeper and steeper, darker and darker. You notice even more vines and other foliage are covering the walls; some have even sprouted a few roses, although they all seem to be dead or dying. There's no one here that seems to care about up-keeping them. A rotten stench reaches your nose -- like that of death. Like blood. You shake your head to try and clear your thoughts, and its then that you notice more about your surroundings have started to change; scattered bones, scratches on the walls, splashes of dried blood...

There were signs up struggle before now, but this was more than that. This was pure carnage.

The path up ahead splits into two -- to the left, the passage continues to go down even further. Although it's open, you notice it has a black iron gated door, and a thick trail of blood leading into it. There's a warm glow of light further down inside, and you think you can hear... something... moving about.

The right side looks no different from the path you're on now -- only it begins to incline, and there's no obvious trails of blood. Or ominous noises.

A. Left. You came here to face down challenges, and the blood could be the trail to your next one. It has to be the correct path.

B. Right. In your book, blood equals bad. Coward's way out? You don't care. What good is treasure if you're not alive to enjoy it?

A. INCORRECT
You go left. There are cells, but nothing inside them -- at least, nothing that's still alive. Weapons and chains adorn the walls, and the stench from earlier only gets stronger the further you go. (You realize, now, the smell is from decay. You try not to think too long about it further.) The dim lighting flickers on the walls, and you hear metal clanging against metal, and something heavy being dragged along the ground -- and it's getting closer.

You think, maybe, you're not supposed to be here. A beast with a glowing, grated chest emerges -- you get the feeling that it's staring at you, but you can't know for sure -- there are empty sockets where its eyes should be. It reaches up and pulls on a chain on the wall, which causes a distinctive clang! come from behind you. You realize, terror building in your bones, that was the sound of the door banging shut.

You sense that the beast is smiling at you, but its face doesn't move. Your adventure is over, but STAY TUNED FOR A RAFFLED PRIZE...

The Oubliette Master was won here!

B. CORRECT
You go right. Eventually, you don't see as much blood and bones littering the ground. The torches on the walls become a little more frequent. The vines here are still thick, but you begin to feel more at ease the more space you but that... dungeon-like place behind you. You came here to find the treasure at the end of the labyrinth, not deliberately seek out danger at every chance!

----------

More twists and turns, more dead ends and backtracking your steps -- the trail seems to go on and on, endlessly. Where is the next room? Where is the next challenge in your path to glory? The vines aren't letting up, either. In fact, they seem to be getting worse -- and you could swear you just saw one move... but that can't be right, could it? You don't have long to ponder the question. You feel the thorny vines on the ground slide around your legs, and start to run -- but the vines are faster. They lash out in front of you, slowing you down as you barge through them -- and, eventually, they pull you to a stop, winding and twisting around your limbs, pulling taught against your body. The vine around your throat keeps getting tighter, and tighter...

Until, suddenly, you can breathe again. Not barely an inch from your head is the sharp end of a long axe, buried in the wall, having cut through the vines keeping you captive. You turn to thank you savior, but the words die in your throat. Another minotaur. This one is massive -- all bulky muscles and scars, with a pair of impressive horns adorning his head.

"Oops," he grunts. "Missed."

Run!

A. Turn tail and run back the way you came, as fast as you can!

B. Run past him the way you were going!

A. INCORRECT
You turn around and make a run for it. You suppose you forgot how the vines this way were trying to grab you, though. They keep lashing out at you, trying to grab you again. They're not successful, but they do slow you down -- enough so that the minotaur has no problem catching up with you, armed with his axe and hooves thundering on the ground below him. You're not going to escape. Your adventure is over, but STAY TUNED FOR A RAFFLED PRIZE...

The Minotaur Stallion would have been won here!

B. CORRECT
While the minotaur tries to retrieve his axe from the wall, you bolt past him and don't look back. You can hear the minotaur eventually start to give chase again, but his size makes him slower and you're able to out run him easily. You decide not to risk it and keep running, hoping that he'll give up soon...

----------

You finally make it to the next room, panting and out of breath. You don't pause to catch it, though, looking around for the next danger, the next foe -- but you see nothing. Before you is a wall with three nondescript levers, and... nothing else. Is this really it? What skill could be applied here? Has it really come down to just... luck? You spend some time pacing back and forth in front of your choices, but nothing else is going to happen until you make a decision. There's nothing to it, then. Which lever will you pull?

A. The lever on the left.

B. The lever in the middle.

C. The lever on the right.

A. INCORRECT
You pull a lever on the end. Unfortunately, luck is not on your side today. The floor beneath your feet falls away and you plummet down into depths unknown. You don't know what your fate will be -- but you do know that your adventure ends here.

B. CORRECT
You pull the middle lever. The wall to your left shifts and grinds against stone as it moves, revealing a spiral staircase descending down into the ground. Hoping this was the right choice, and having nowhere else to go, you make your way down the stairs...

C. INCORRECT
You pull the lever on the right. There's no luck to be found here; you back away in horror as you watch large saw blades swing out between the cracks in the stone, sweeping towards you. There's no place to hide, and there's no pulling yourself back together again after an encounter like this. Your adventure has come to an unfortunate end.

----------

As your each the bottom of the stairs, the sight before you comes as a shock. You almost feel like you've been transported somewhere entirely new; the stone floors are polished and clean, and while there are still vines and roses decoration the walls, they look healthy and well maintained. The vines form intricate patterns, swirls and lattice designs tastefully spread around the room. The place seems as though someone was actually living here. But that couldn't be right -- could it?

You pass through a grand hall, fine iron lanterns lighting the way as you pass through several rooms. You pause when you enter a room with a large table, decorated with fine china, cutlery, and a burgundy silk tablecloth. This is all to say nothing of the feast -- roast meats and turkey, cheeses and grapes, roasted vegetables, potatoes, gravy and all kinds of sauces to drizzle on your meal. The sight of it makes your stomach growl, and you realize you haven't eaten for hours.

A. You're starving, but there's no time to waste. You sense that your journey is almost at an end.

B. Dig in! You know you're going to need energy to face down the final challenge.

A. CORRECT
You decide to pass on the food. You're hungry, but it isn't as though you've been without for days -- you feel strong enough to keep going and don't want to risk falling into another trap. You continue on into the next room...

B. INCORRECT
A little snack never hurt anybody. You fill a plate with a variety of the foods spread out across the table before sitting down and devouring your meal. You feel better already -- like nothing could stop you! But... maybe just one more helping first. You serve yourself another round of food, feeling just as ravenous as you had when you first sat down. Seconds become thirds, become fourths, fifths... you can't seem to stop yourself. Soon, you're struggling to keep your eyes open, exhaustion claiming you as you slump down against the table. Just a short nap... one you won't wake up from. Your adventure has come to an end.

----------

The next room you enter is even more grand than the others; the walls seem to glitter with golden flecks, and in the center is a grand pedestal with carvings of dying beasts and monsters, upon which sits a golden chest. This is it -- the treasure! It has to be! You run up to it in excitement, examining the look, figuring if you can't pick it here you can drag the chest out with you.

"Well, well, well." A voice comes from the shadows, and when you look up you see a dark stallion with vines crawling up his legs. At his hide rests a lump of a plant with a split down the middle, and you swear you think you see some teeth on the thing. As the stallion walks, claws clicking on the floor, the vines on the walls seem to pull away and lean towards him, as though they were reaching. Drawn to him. Did he control them? "Congratulations, my dear." Something about his voice sends a chill down your spine; you can't help but imagine a snake as you observe him.

"So? Don't you want your prize? That's why you're here, after all. Isn't it?" He tilted his head and turned slightly so you could get a better look at the plant on his hide. It's mouth yawned open wide, revealing rows of long, sharp teeth -- but inside, you also see a golden key. "All you have to do is take it," the Labyrinth Keeper said, before you could wonder how you were going to get it. It was a trap, of course. It had to be. One last test, right?

A. Take they key.

B. Don't take the key.

A. CORRECT
You reach into the plant's open jaws, and... nothing. You take the key and pull away unscathed. Surprised and unsettled by this turn of events, you back away from the Labyrinth Keeper, uncertain what to make of him. He doesn't say anything else and doesn't move; he only continues to smile at you, waiting. They key slides into the lock of the grand chest easily, and with a click, you turn the key and pop the lock. You push open the chest and see...

Mounds of sparkling gems. Crowns and necklaces made of gold, adorned with priceless crystals. Piles and piles of coins from all over the world. There really was a treasure -- and you found it! You can't help but jump up with a shout of joy, thrilled with your success, and for a moment you forget the Labyrinth Keeper is there. All this treasure, and it's all yours for the taking! You can hardly believe you're the first one to make it to the end!

"It never gets old, watching those who make it this far rejoice in celebration," the Labyrinth Keeper says, cutting your enthusiasm short.

What?

"I can't let you leave, of course," he says, that eerie smile still on his face. "I never let them leave. How could I, when you know my labyrinth's secrets? No, no," he shook his head, as if the very idea of it was ridiculous. Obvious, as though you should have known this from the beginning. "No one can know how to solve my labyrinth." He turns and begins to walk away, but the vines have already begun wrapping around your ankles. Pulling to get away, each tug only makes them squeeze harder, their grip strong and unforgiving...

The adventure is over, and you've made it to the end! STAY TUNED FOR A RAFFLED PRIZE...

The Labyrinth Keeper would have been won here!

B. INCORRECT
You don't move, wary of the Labyrinth Keeper and his silver tongue. You don't trust him -- and you're right not to. He smiles, and the plant on his hide shuts with an audible snap. "You made it all this way, and you don't want your grand prize? Those that come from above as such strange creatures. You fought so hard to come this far, and now you just... give up." He clucked his tongue, shaking his head as though he were baffled by your choice. "No matter. Either way, I'm afraid I cannot let you leave." He flexes his claws against the stone ground, and you half expect him to attack, but he doesn't. A vine wraps around your neck, first. It winds up and covers your mouth so you can't scream. More vines lurch towards you, binding your legs, your body -- your eyes. All you can do is whimper, and wait for what comes next.
