Sadly despite the savage strength behind his swings, Lupus didn't quite match that with his speed, as such his Gunbai was easily dodged by the Goblemon in front of him, which in turn counterattacked with his remaining arm using it's claws to slash at him. With nearly no way to escape the Stragari did the next best thing, bracing his body by taking a solid step and tensing as best as possible while withdrawing his vitals. The claws landed on his armored body with a clank, however the chakra infused within and even the residual force slammed into him through the armor, resulting in a gruff growl and an even more ferocious response from Lupus. This response came in the form of his hand clamping painfully upon the Goblemon's hand that had collided with his chest, giving it nearly no room to escape as he did so. Should it land properly with a savage roar he would reach forward and release his Gunbai before using his now free hand to grasp it's waist firmly. Using his overwhelming strength he would allow his muscles to bulge fiercely before he would tear the arm from the socket with a disturbing display of gore as the arm was ideally ripped cleanly off, allowing the blood to spray all over Lupus before he would let the arm go and reach up to tear the now bloodied mask from it's face.
Assuming this all work's the giant of a man would walk forward, once more giving a powerful headbutt that ideally would crush the skull of the creature, allowing him to grab both his Gunbai and the mask should it still exist and retreat speedily backwards towards Zuhra who was waiting in tow. With a soft grunt he would kneel down, allowing his armor to once more melt away into it's liquid form before returning to his boots. Once again assuming the mask remained despite the creatures death, Lupus would make sure it was clean and free of any visible potential traps before reaching up and placing it upon his face firmly, turning to look at Zuhra before tilting his head as if questioning if it looked okay on him. Meanwhile he was looking at his rapidly forming bruises along his chest and arms, giving a low grumble in annoyance before looking up to keep an eye on anything potentially going on.

Wind howls with the screams of the dead and damned, with fire morphing into the expressions of those who died in fire. The earth, tormented by its power, is black and rotted with decay, carrying with it the sweet stench of death. In effect techniques being used inspire a negative effect, a chilling, dark energy that borders the unholy power of corruption. For every three [3] posts being used apply one [1] point of Spiritual corruption upon the body. At every ten [10] points of Corruption the body gains an Echo Intrusion affliction. These Intrusions alter the physical body and emotional state of the figure in some way, while providing a bonus in its place. The sprite quite happily joined the first in Masako's clothing, tucking out of sight but somehow not making her any warmer than the first one had. The hallway opened up into a larger room not far from where she stood, and in the dim light, she could see something moving around. Something much larger, with red skin. The creature was digging haphazardly through a pile of debris, likely looking for the sprite that had just taken up residence in Masako's clothes.
The yokai facing off against Lupus didn't have a chance to react before the giant's hands wrapped around its torso, tore its remaining arm from its body, and ripped the mask free of its face. Its screams were cut short as the mask was removed, and the creature simply seemed to fade from existence, save for the splatters of its black blood. Anywhere the liquid touched his armor, the metal hissed in complaint, and would slowly begin to dissolve the metal. [1 durability per post until cleaned off] The mask, however, remained.
With the other yokai out of the way, the final boss could make its stand. The massive shadow caught up with the pair, though it remained at a distance and its form began to emerge from the ground. The monster, once it stood full height, easily towered Lupus and let out a defiant roar as it raised its spiked club, preparing to attack.
xxxxx Masako crept quietly towards the door frame, peering into the larger room. She almost let out a gasp as she spied the large red bodied monster rummaging through the debris in the room. It seemed to Masako that he was likely looking for sprite to torment it as the monster's outside had already done. "Don't worry little sprites, you're safe with me" she whispered quietly to the sprites in her cloak. It seemed to Masako that she likely had two choices. She could go back the way she came, or she could try and handle the monster as best she could.
Masako edged away from the doorway, back into the hallway, pondering what she could do. She had the distinct advantage the creature didn't know she was there yet. If she could surprise it, she could likely lure it into a trap. Masako looked around the hallway and tip toed her way back into the attic. Her eye rested on the remains of a broken chair. She grabbed one of the legs of the chair and sized it up in her hands. It seemed like it would likely make a good club or at least a long stick to keep the monster back. She then returned to the hallway, rummaging in her backpack for a moment to pull out a length of twine and two fish hooks. She cut about one meter of the twine and stuck a fish hook on either end and used the hooks to affix the twine to the doorframe, creating a makeshift tripwire.
With her crude club in hand, Masako stood in the doorframe and whistled to the big monster, taunting him to charge at her before retreating towards the attic. With any luck, the tripwire would cause the monster to fall flat on his face.

The instant the monster heard Masako whistle it spun, beady eyes sweeping the room in search of the source of the sound. As it did, a third sprite, this one greenish, fluttered out from the pile of junk the yokai had been searching through and into another one nearby. The red goblinoid cackled hungrily as its eyes settled on Masako, and, just as expected, it brandished a rusted sword as it charged at her. Also as expected, it hit the tripwire without seeing it and fell forward with a solid thud.
The creature pushed itself up again, growling in rage now. A crack split part of the mask on its face, and its body jittered a bit as if struggling to keep form. "Tricky girl..." it hissed but gave a conniving smile. "That will make you all the tastier."
Zuhra took another bite from the fleshy shaft of Predator to keep his boosted capabilities active while the crows formed back into a clone, and he would also toss the trench knife sheathed behind him up to the clone while they waited. The shadows emerged from the building and the big, bad, ugly boss began to form to start the boss round. Since he was waiting for this, Zuhra started his charge towards the Oni with the intent to attack him from head on, but this was merely a distraction. From behind, the clone would grip the trench knife firmly and make use of behind enemy lines to propel himself down to attack the boss from behind with increased strength, while trying to use backstab to immobile him, with another increase to strength by attacking from behind. Hopefully this would give Lupus the time he needed to clean himself of the acidic blood. (( Sorry for s**t post. Still dealing with my stuff, but Aaron wants me to post oh so badly when he's not even in the fight. xxxxx Masako hesitated for a moment as the giant jumped up and recovered from his fall faster than she had originally anticipated. It seemed that she had maybe bitten off more than she could chew in picking a fight with the monster. Then she saw it for a brief moment. It almost appeared as if the monster flickered. Even in the poor lighting of the dark room, she was certain she saw it and then it happened again and again, as if the monster was fading away. She noticed the crack in the monster's mask, likely from when it fell. That has to be it, she thought to herself. If I can break that mask or get it off, that thing will just go away. It must be some form of summoning or binding.
With little time to act, Masako launched her own attack before the monster could attack her. "How's this for a trick." Masako lifted the broken piece of wood in her hand, hurling it at the monster's face as she ran forward. With the piece of wood now sailing toward the monster, Masako dropped to the ground, sliding across the floor, aiming her foot at the monster's legs which were hopefully still a little shaky from its earlier fall. With any luck, the combination of the monster trying to block the chunk of wood and a quick impact to the leg would bring it tumbling down again. If all worked out, Masako would quickly reach for the mask as the monster fell, hoping to rip it free.

The moment the black blood splattered against his armor he could sense something was off, an ear-grating sizzle sounding as smoke emitted from the points on the armor where it landed. Gritting his teeth he reacted swiftly, reaching back into his pack to retrieve his oiled waterskin that Zuhra had given him previously. Unscrewing it he poured the liquid onto his armor, swiftly washing off the black acidic blood as efficiently as he could. Assuming it came off like that he would return the armor to it's liquid form before returning to it's strange pair of boots. As he was doing this Zuhra began his assault upon the boss monster, working together with his clone to coordinate an assault from behind.
Having finally cleaned the blood off hopefully, Lupus would stand up once more, retrieving his Gunbai from the ground before lunging forward with an explosion of dirt, while doing this he channeled chakra down into his arms and then into his Gunbai, moving to swing it down into the ground which would instantly turn the ground into a smaller pool of mud, this time focusing on just a single leg of the monster, though giving enough room around to make it somewhat hard to escape for it. Using the secondary effect of his Jutsu he would hopefully jerk it's leg towards him, tripping it somewhat.Even if the mud worked he would continue his attack, attempting to lend his hand to Zuhra in killing the monster. Bringing his Gunbai up he delivered a swift yet devastatingly powerful downwards swing towards the giant demons shoulder, assuming he wasn't attacked in retaliation; regardless of his Gunbai dealing significant damage he would lunge forward with a powerful horse-stance straight punch to the Oni's side, aiming to crush it's ribs whilst following this up with a strong yet dirty punch aimed for the crotch of the monster."speech"thought

Unfortunately, the creature was a little more experienced in combat than Masako and just dodged the piece of wood being thrown at it, ducking down. This had the side effect of putting the yokai at a level to grab at the pink-haired girl. It threw out a hand to catch her, even though it took most of the force of the slide to one of its legs, landing it on one knee. Assuming that its grapple was successful, it rose its rusted sword to swing down with a mighty blow.
However, regardless if the grapple was successful, the small orbs of life inhabiting Masako's clothing went into action to protect their savior. Both flew forward, throwing themselves headlong into the yokai's face. The creature shrieked, flinging its head back--consequently releasing Masako if she had been grabbed--and swatting at its face. This left quite the opening for the girl to react.
[Dak: Your post is technically 4 activations, and the weapon's ability to alter elements is supposed to be alongside a technique. I'll let it go this time but keep that in mind for the future.]
The yokai's club became engulfed in black chakra as Zuhra started his charge, unaware of the threat from behind, which meant that the dagger hit it full in the shoulder as he came down on it. The dagger dug deep, causing a spurt of the same black blood, but despite the power behind the hit, all it seemed to do was make the oni angry. Its eyes lit up with an unholy flame, but due to the effects of the attack, however, it couldn't move. This left the opening for Lupus's attacks to hit, striking the same shoulder that Zuhra had stabbed, and then the shots to the abdomen and crotch--though for the punches, the effect was lessened a bit by the amount of fat the creature had in its gut.
Frozen where it was, the flame-like chakra spread from its weapon to cover its entire body, and perhaps this would leave a sense of foreboding in the pair attacking it.

The rank of this technique is equivalent to the amount of damage taken, and is drained at the beginning of each post. This surge of energy lasts for three [3] posts, and will continue on even after the user runs out of chakra or stamina, or both, which can potentially lead to death upon exiting. One this mode is activated, the timer resets each time the user is hit hard enough to cause damage.

xxxxx It seemed for a moment that this was the end for our young heroine. Brief flashes of her adventures with Zuhra flashed before her eyes as the monster reached out to grasp her body. Just as the monster lifted Masako up however, the unexpected happened. The sprites launched forth, distracting the monster before it could deliver the killing blow. Masako landed on the ground with a dull thud.
With the monster now wildly swatting in the air above him, Masako sprung into action. She jumped off the ground, extending her arm out in a fist aiming for the monster's mask. As long as the sprites continued to distract the monster, it was likely that Masako's jumping uppercut would hit the chin part of the mask and shatter it.

Due to the creature's thrashing, while uppercut hit, it did not meet its mark. Instead Masako's punch landed a blow to the yokai's shoulder, knocking it a bit off balance. Enough that it staggered into the wall anyway. It finally managed to swat the sprites from its eyes, tossing both away where they lay flickering weakly on the floor, and turned back to the pink-haired girl.
The condition of its face was likely rather disturbing. Where one of its eyes had been previously was just a dark, burnt hole, while the other that watched her was bloodshot and clearly irritated. Its form jittered spasmodically as it raised its weapon threateningly. "I'm going to tear you limb from limb for this, girlie..." it hissed menacingly. Taking its blade in both hands, it launched itself at her, swinging at her left shoulder--apparently eager to carry out its threat. [B-rank unnamed slash]

[The fight will be assumed a draw. You guys manage to wound the Oni before you're forced to retreat due to lack of resources. Unfortunately that means that all of the sprites its party had captured will remain captive for the time being. As for Masako, the Amanojaku retreats, no longer interested in the human or the sprites she is protecting. The sprites follow you back to town rather happily before going off on their own, dispersing into the far corners of their new safe haven. You guys will be able to post wherever you want; no need to respond to this post.

Kira lumbered through the rough terrain as quickly as the snow would let him pass through. Holding onto his katana he looked and turned his head constantly due to the semi limited vision of the helmet he wore. Right at this point it wouldve probably be better to have had it stay at the smithy in Ikeinasu rather than on his head. as he got to what the little one at the shop called 'the outskirts' Kira drew his blade ready for any unwelcome attacks. As he began to get onto long forgotten paved paths covered in ash like snow and rougue grasses Kira sighed and started to call out softly but enough to where you could hear within a good couple meters,
Karin! Where are you!? he would repeat this every few feet or so until he would get his answer or something came and found him in this process. It wasn't smart, he knew that, but he also knew he couldn't let her die out there in the wilds. With the importance of keeping as many people alive and his own interests in play. kira didn't want to si,ply be left wondering 'IF' she would make it back alive

For what must have felt like ages, the city outskirts answered with nothing but utter silence. The snow that coated the structures that still stood muted sound, leaving nothing but an ephemeral white noise all around, not quite an actual sound but within the range of hearing. And it was cold, almost bone-chillingly so compared to the town of Ikeinasu down the mountain. Then of course there was the ever-looming castle at the peak that made one feel as though they were being watched regardless of the precautions taken.
A crash off to the side, metal against brick, likely startled you, but all that emerged from the sound was a scampering raccoon that had likely knocked something over in its quest for food. However a moment later, somewhere a few streets over, the sound of clashing steel could be faintly heard...
Kira would travel the outskirts, his hot breath piping through his helmet to create a small fog around his mouth. As he searched the ruins of this long forgotten place he heard the sudden crashing of stone and steel and readied his weapon as he turned to face whatever had caused it. To his embarrassment he saw but only a racoon scurrying off, likely to its next trash feast. Kira sighed as he was about to slowly put his katana away he started to hear the clashing of steel on steel this time. Eyes wide under his mask Kira started to rush down the streets. As he drew closer to the noise in question he only hoped Karin, and whatever team she managed to go with, was fine and that the steel ringing was but a trick of the echoing mountain side. Kira charged up some lightning based mana in his left hand for any surprises awaiting around the corner of loud clashing steel.
As he neared the last turn Kira's body, which once was cold due to the length of time he had searched, was now piping hot with blood and adrenaline heating him to his core as he turned the corner to let whatever sight befall him.
