While there is nothing technically
wrong with the character, after reading the backstory I have to admit to being alittle dissapointed that tha character had not real
connection to it. We LOVE love love the backstory about his father (minus just a few questions), but to be frank the character if Devon seems very flat and typical compared to the story you set up.
You say yourself he's the goth bois to end all goth bois. And, well, he is. He's painfully stereotypical and predictable.
If you're going to give his father such interesting backstory - why not take it and run with it. I would have been very interested to see Devon actually
find this father's notes. What would he have done with him? Showed them to anyone? Take them to the authorities? Post it in his LiveJournal with some emo poetry?
I think giving Feral Labs a
reason to dissapear Devon would be much more interesting. Maybe he doesn't even realize the connection until its too late?
Just a few questions about Donovan's BG
Did he work
FOR Feral Labs? Or in a competing company? I can see it either way. Feral Labs perhaps frelancing him and then denying all connection to him when he got caught.
Or perhaps he was working with a company that was known to have stolen some valuable data
from Feral Labs. This would have kept Feral Labs out of the spotlight, but still give the company great interest in his work - or what happened to it.
