FrostyPeaches Vanish shuddered in his sleep. A short vivid dream of abandonment seeped through his mind, causing him to feel like he can't breathe due to the heavy amount of grief that followed afterwards, and he woke up. The soil felt wet to the touch and the environment smelled like iron. It made him uncomfortable.. The kio looked down, stared at his legs, which are now drenched in dark red blood... Somewhere nearby, he heard the lapping sound of a wet tongue. The sound, was nothing ordinarily. As if it was a mix of pain and fear. The kio had gotten up already and wandered through the unknown environment just in time to come across a wounded cheetah. The lapping sound grew louder and he saw the wild animal clean a wound on its thigh. OOC Footnote Current HP: 30 / 30 Current Trust: 10 Section notes: This is a dream. But you don't know that...
You awake somewhere in the swamp, about a day's travel from wherever you ordinarily sleep. As you gather your wits you realize there's a suspicious amount of blood in the area - making the water in the area ruddy and the air smell like iron. There's a moment of surprise, or panic, before you realize it's coming from an animal nearby, nursing a grievous wound and looking over at you warily.
This could be an opportunity...

FIRST TASK: Bribery Vanish knew these animals preferred meat but he himself was no hunter. Looking around the unfamiliar surrounding, he found nothing but dried berries. Picking it up in his mouth, he laid them down beside the cheetah. It ate the berries, giving the kio a sign of approval to be near it.
OOC Footnote 4-5: You find something it likes, but it doesn't stay close long enough for you to get a good look. Still, you gain 2 trust. Current HP: 30 / 30 Current Trust: 10 + 02 = 12 Section notes: roll 9-10 to move on Sure, you want to help. But you can't really do anything unless you know more about the nature of the injury. As any injured animal would be, this creature is more than a little jittery. You're going to have to bribe it to be allowed any closer. Each time you roll, describe what you're attempting to bribe the animal with.

SECOND TASK: Identification The kio walked a little bit closer to the cheetah and looked down right at their eyes. He wanted to see if they were damaged or not. The answer came to him faster than expected. The cheetah let out a roar and bared its teeth. Its eyes were fine.
OOC Footnote 6. Unfortunately, there are parts of the animal's anatomy that you just have to look at, to eliminate all possibilities. The animal doesn't seem pleased, though, and the examination unfortunately produces no results for you this time. -2 HP Current HP: 30 - 02 = 28 / 30 Current Trust: 15 Section notes: 00 / 03 clues 1d8

The part that troubled the kio was the cheetah's thigh. He knew it was wounded from seeing it lick the spot before.
Vanish hovered over the animal. It was not pleased and scratched his leg with its sharp claws. Auw...

He didn't give up and peered over the cheetah's shoulder. The wound on the thigh, he could almost see what's wrong with it... But... The look on the cheetah's face turned into defensive mode. Its ears laid against its head, flat and pointed towards the back.
Was it attacked while in its sleep? It was possible...

He didn't want to get attacked by this feline again. But he couldn't help but check and see if it was alright...
Using his nose, he nosed the cheetah trying to make it get up.
However, it thought that Vanish was trying to bond with it. Ears back to normal position again, it let a low purr glide out of its throat.

Vanish towered over the cheetah and it almost immediately started to attack the kio. Okay...... so ... being bigger and taller than the cheetah seemed to scare it even more...

It let him get closer, and Vanish took the opportunity to check out the wound again. However, he seemed to have taken too long for it made the cheetah get up and spring sideways.
It definitely got hurt in a fight against another wild animal, he concluded.

THIRD TASK: Defense A wild massive black boar came into the clearing. Its two tusk sharp as ever. Saliva leaking out of one side of its mouth. Its eyes, red, as if the boar was already driven into madness.
Protecting himself and partially the injured cheetah, Vanish kicked at the boar with his hindlegs as hard as he could.
OOC Footnote In your RP (especially the first post of the fight), make sure to describe the intruder specifically. It should be something that your kin is genuinely intimidated by in their real life - remember, it's a dream, so it can be a little more menacing than it would be in real life, or it can be something that your kin is unlikely to encounter in real life (like someone or something from their past).Current HP: 23 - 02 = 21 / 30 Current Trust: 18 Section notes: The intruder 's HP 10 - 02 = 08 / 10 Bite attack: 1d8 damage dealt. does3 HP damage every time you bite. Kick attack: 1d4 damage dealt. does 2 HP damage every time you kick. You're pretty sure you know how you can help the animal now. Unfortunately, it seems like you're not alone. Something dangerous - a predator, another kin with ill intent, or a scavenger looking to capitalize on potentially injured prey - shows up, and it definitely wants to harm your new charge.

The kick seemed to throw the boar of balance, and Vanish dove in for another attack. He bit the boar on its ear, and he tugged. Hard. The wild boar, squealed and ran off, not wanting to get kicked by the kio's hooves again.
OOC Footnote When it is defeated, it is up to you what condition it's in, depending on the sort of intruder. It can mysteriously dissipate, or perhaps just be so tired out that it decides to run away.Current HP: 21 - 03 = 18 / 30 Current Trust: 18 Section notes: The intruder 's HP 08 - 08 = 00 / 10 Bite attack: 1d8 damage dealt. does3 HP damage every time you bite. FOURTH TASK: Escape The cheetah didn't seem to want to follow. Vanish tried to nudge it to move. He gave the animal a short moment to rest and attempted to make it get up and move again.
OOC Footnote You're safe - for now. But your experience has impressed upon you that the animal isn't safe, and it'll be less safe if you abandon it.
This stretch of the Swamp isn't entirely unfamiliar to you. There's somewhere nearby that you know will be safe - either somewhere defensible, or somewhere where the animal will be guarded by someone you trust. But you'll need to travel there...2 - 5: You're not traveling alone, and the animal isn't too excited about moving and possibly doing something to its injury. You have to spend a few minutes reassuring it - but afterwards, it seems much calmer. +3 trust Current HP: 18 / 30 Current Trust: 18 + 03 = 21 Section notes: 00 / 20 units travelled 1d20

The next clearing was covered with spider webs and even the kio knew it was a bad path. So many spider webs means lots of spiders. Spiders of all types. The last thing he wanted to see is get stung and bit by numerous spiders all at once...
Vanish turned around and chose another path to travel through.
OOC Footnote 15-18: You chose a bad path: the route is occupied by something or someone dangerous. You can make a run for it, probably hurting yourself in the process, or backtrack. Lose 2 HP OR travel back 3 units. Any travel that would put you below 0 units puts you at 0 instead.Current HP: 18 / 30 Current Trust: 21 Section notes: 00 / 20 units travelled 1d20

FrostyPeaches The cheetah was rather large. its side reaching the bottom of Vanish;s torso. With that, he let the wild injured animal shift his weight against his body as they traveled. He could take on the extra weight.
OOC Footnote 9-14: You travel with your charge 5 units. You help bear its weight or alleviate its pain as you travel, gaining 3 trust. Current HP: 18 / 30 Current Trust: 21 + 03 = 24 Section notes: 00 + 05 = 05 / 20 units travelled 1d20
