The odd fog was just beginning to really take effect when Caroline had drawn Liam in tighter. He'd looped his arms around her waist, head going to her shoulder as she urged him not to look at the horrors that surrounded him, and the desperateness with which he clung to the woman was rivaled only by how tight she was holding him in return. Think of something nice. He thought of Harper, and Corey, and Caroline, and the rest of his university family. He thought about them all safe, back on the island. It was nice. it was helping. He actually felt, well, good
Wicked snickered faintly at the back of his mind.
And then things shifted. Liam couldn't have placed what exactly it was that had alerted him to the change, but something had. He blinked as he lifted his head from Caroline's shoulder, and stiffened as he gaze landed on dark, shadowy figures standing where the others had been. "Caroline.."
Only, it wasn't Caroline he was holding onto anymore. Here, too, the same, awful monstrosity, and Liam jerked back with a yelp, his tonfa flashing into life with a bright flicker of runes as she backed away so rabidly the jars on a shelf rattled ominously as he ran into it.
"Caroline?!" Where had everyone gone? Wicked laughed again, curling like a content cat in his mind. He was no help at all. "Stay-stay away!"

[PRISON] - Prisoner 1
When one of the other hunters began talking about clones, Terry was all the more convinced that he really, really should have stayed outside. Yeah, seeing oddities back before he got recruited was one thing, it was entirely another to suddenly be forced to deal with things he certainly believed was beyond his pay grade.
He wasn't really given a choice as the nearest clone made a grab for him. He reacted too late and ended up being dragged towards the bars, not even managing to stop himself from slamming into them completely.
Dizzied, Terry ground his teeth both to stop himself from shrieking in horror and to get a proper grip on himself. The careful blank mask of his expression was betrayed only by how wide his eyes were as he stared at the hands gripping him by the wrist. "M-miss, please, calm down," he said, patting her fingers in an attempt to pry himself free. His eye twitched when the girl's grip tightened painfully. It was surprising that she had that much strength especially after her earlier comatose state."Would you like some water?" he offered, hoping it would cause her to let him go.
Joy recognized Melvin aaaand that was pretty much it for people she knew. She was about to tell him that so far, it's been creepy but quiet when s**t happened. There was no hesitation as Joy summoned her weapon and okay there was also a slight hesitation before she remarked, "These things look like they belong in one of those X-rated cartoons." She shuddered in disgust and felt something try to grab at her ankle. Biting back a scream, Joy instead swung down with the bladed shovel to slice herself free.
"Shet, did they block the path outta here?"
HP: 35/40 Damage: 3
ooc: Zoo said we could roll for defense, Joy can do that to mitigate damage (not by much admittedly) so lemme know if you wanna tandem with her.
The fruit that was pulsating start to pop one by one, no doubt waiting to sense something to eat, and just as he saw them flop like wet organs onto the thick moss, he summoned Saliva. "Can we just have one time when bugs don't happen." He said to no one.
As Joy came near, he gestured for her to come closer. "We should probably all get together and OUT of here." He said, and holding the weapon in both hands, looked down the sight and started popping off fat leeches one by one as they made their way over.
Zeke had quite literally had nightmares about this sort of thing, and on a semi-regular basis, at that. His pulse was hammering in his ears, even before the leeches started to burst from the weird trees, and he needed no prompting to turn and stand shoulder to shoulder with Melvin, his axe already bare in his hand. "The bugs can break weapons," he managed, tone clipped, fear resting like a metallic weight at the back of his tongue.
{Get away from them, boil!}
He really wished he could have heeded the panic in his weapon's tone, he was selfish enough for it, but he wasn't entirely certain he'd make it out on his own. There were too many of the disgusting leeches creeping towards them.
They were going to have to work together. Though even then, the damn things were starting to surround them, biting at their ankles. Zeke jerked as something sharp penetrated the thick leather of his boot, and brought the axe down in a hard swing, bisecting the leech, and another in turn, before shaking the clinging bit off his foot.

[ORCHARD]
Joy wasn't squeamish, not that squeamish, but this was really gross and it was getting to her. Which was why she didn't put up that much of a fuss when Melvin gestured for her to stick close. But she was a Moon and knew her job was to protect others, which was why when a pile of leeches toppled forward, Joy tried to take the brunt of their descent.
Foolish! Strike them down! Bert hissed, frustrated by his bonded's propensity of throwing herself bodily at things.
The tunnels were dark and narrow and winding, and Lin was mostly just grateful that she wasn't claustrophobic. Anyone with a phobia of the dark or close spaces would likely have a terrible time in these tunnels. She emerged into a hallway with several other people there, lined with prison cells.
She barely had enough time to register that the prisoners were all identical before the women started throwing themselves against the bars, having fits for no apparent reason. These were, presumably, prisoners that they were going to rescue, their oddly unsettling resemblance aside. Lin set her teeth and moved toward one of the cages. A hand shot out from between the bars and gripped her ankle, painfully hard. Still, she crouched down and tried, "Hey, hey, shhh. Uh - do you want some water? You gotta calm down."
It was awkward. She wasn't very good at talking to people.
Melvin stood close to Joy, watching the leeches jump and try to lash out to whatever they could get close to, and he pointed and shot whatever wiggles in front of his sights.
"Be careful. If you feel woozy, tell me. I can heal." He informed her, popping a few that were moving closer and closer.
"We should probably start heading back OUT of here." He called out to the rest of them.
Tempest gave Melvin a wry look over his wistful desire to catalogue samples. "Hah. You want to take some literal Adam's apples and kidney beans back with you or something?"
She shrugged in answer to Gale, pulling the goggles back on top of her head. "All quiet here. Just us and some odd trees. Which, I've been told we shouldn't touch unless we want to get some exotic diseases."
Evidently she'd spoken too soon. The sickly grapefruits were starting to swell, and shudder. Filmy worms were flooding out in a torrent. Watching the fruit burst open, Tempest covered her mouth with one hand, genuinely surprised. "Ugh, that's disgusting -"
The worms were growing, multiplying, and oozing right toward them.
"Absolutely not," she hissed, bringing her blade down on the nearest leech. At least there was one good thing about having a sword - it was hard not to squish at least a few of the slimy little monsters with every swing. But for every one she crushed, there were at least three more slowly swarming and oozing everywhere, covering the floor in a caustic mess that burned even through her shoes. Kasdeja's blade disappeared the moment she stopped focusing on it, giving her a moment to shakily retreat to where everyone held the line more expertly. "Does anyone have a plan?"
She looked very deliberately at a certain someone. "Gale?"

[ DISSECTION ROOM ]
Sherry was quiet comfortable on her spot on the floor. There was no need to do anything aside from stay there, really. She was sleep and content. Everything was fine.
Until she saw the creature move. Oh, oh dear. She must have dozed off - the room was crawling with Horsemen. Where had the other hunter's gone?
Sherry froze in place. Maybe they would continue to not notice her. Maybe she could sneak out. That was probably the best plan. Sneak out and find the others.
Slowly, Sherry began to have crawl half drag her way towards the Door. Very, very slowly. Sneaky as she could go.
The buzzing sent shivers down his whole buzzy. Gosh that is such an awful sound!@ Sy thought he was chasing after someone but it appeared to mimic him but with creepy white creepy eyes. And it repeated whatever he tried to tell others of who he is and what he is wearing!
"Holy crap, that doesn't look good!"
He tried to shield his face but the swarm of bugs were just everywhere. It touched him on his face, his arms, his legs, his stomach, under the armpitts- -- they were literally swarming around him and some were pricking him.
"AHHHHHH! AUW! GET OFF ME!" he screamed, and batted around with his bare hands, only to get stung again. He was almost fully covered without showing much skin but his face and fingers and chin and ears were exposed and the swarm were merciless. He screamed as he flailed his arms in wide circular motions and then touched his hairpin with his fingers. "IA! HELP!"
< Was that a summon? Could I come out to play? >
"Yes Ia come out now I need you please!"
Ia transformed and Sy held onto her tightly with both hands. His heart was racing and he heard a scream, not one of his own, but a scream in the tunnels too. A girl's scream. He tried to spot who it was past the buzzing and the numerous legs and wings that were flocking around his face and body.
The boy swung his weapon in a slashing motion to clear the view just for a few seconds. He saw a girl, she was not too far away swinging with all she got with her weapon to try and make her own massive swarm of locusts surrounding her to fly off.
"Hey, girl, look over here, do you want to team up to get rid of the swarm?" Sy asked for help, which was far more different than holding a conversation, so he let it slide. He was getting fed up with the locusts constantly trying to sting him. With watchful eyes, he was planning out his next few moves while slashing his weapon into the swarm.

The door broke into pieces under her brutal force, stepping on them created a weird sound. From behind, she could hardly catch an incessant buzz. It soon became louder and louder, somehow like when a bee flying so near to your ear -
<RUN.> Suddenly, Zai urged but it was too late. The nauseous sensation that her back was touched resulted in a lunatic jolt. Then another one perched on her arm and later her leg. Before she realized what the things were, there came a sharp pain and like a set-off signal, indescriptable pains bloomed all over her body. Sensing through her skin under garment, Shu could guess those things crawled around have multiple limbs and their wings were the origin of the buzzes.
However, solving the mystery didn't make her better. That horrible image made her shrieked in reflex, the hammer still in her hand flung left and right and every direction to get rid of what covering her body and hair. As if discoverd a food source, more descended and bit her, which drove the petite Death into a panic crazy mode, rushing through the entrance.
Despite she had her goggles protecting her eyes, a swarm of insects wasn't something Shu want to see clearly. The giant hammer swung unintentionally hit things on her way but still a number of them chased after her in a stubborn manner. "GO AWAY!"
The cozy setting of the small room had no effect on calming down the mad petite Asian. She made use of the door to block the swarm for a brief moment, and quickly scanned for something useful. The question of why there were weapon tablets in famine cave was pushed aside, time was valuable. She almost turned over what were on the bookshelves for clues and looted all the tablets into her bag.
Hearing the door creaked, she knew the swarm were about to break in so she swung her bag to her back and poised for another battle awaited. "I will hit you out like a golfball." The wounds she had slowly lacinated, they might be bleeding but she got no time to check.
The stench was not improving as they continued forward as the noise of buzzing and clicking seemed to be getting louder as if… Harper’s face went rather pale as the hunter next to her jumped and yelped as the thoughts of the movies earlier were unfolding into reality. Something, or more of a few somethings brush past her almost bare legs as something heavy collide into her arm Harper let an echoing scream while reaching out to grab a hold of Gretchen and run.
Except she grabbed something wiggly, something that had too many limbs and too small of size to be a hunter but too large to be any of the insects from outside the cave earlier. It was enough to make her freeze, to make her slowly looked down at in horror as it wiggled again before pain blossomed from the backside of her hand. Giving a short piercing shriek she threw it against a tunnel wall hearing it thunk as it collided as another shot of pain came thrumming up from her thigh.
They were everywhere, as a few of the other hunters scattered, voices screaming as Harper summoned Eerikki swinging the long chain in any direction she could as panic started to consume her.
