Talk didn't seem necessary. Fury met the mare's gaze with a flat stare, maybe resenting more than a little that these two were trying to lead what they could easily try for themselves -- where were they when it came to figuring out the previous puzzle?
But she said none of this. Of course it would be best to get everyone caught up to what they knew, and true, Fury didn't have the advantage of a bird's eye view. She looked to the trail of lighter stones again. It lead to another cheetah, but from there? Did they need a specific order, more than one kin? Despite her impatience, Fury stood by expectantly.

The stag followed the acha's gaze along the lighter path. Then, he rolled his shoulders and tipped a wink at Lull. "Well, suppose there's no harm in a short walk, right? Let's go."

Let's go.When his hooves touch the first pale brown stone, the glow of the stone that Fury is standing on dims, though it doesn't disappear completely.

He hesitated at that, looking back at the two does. "Ah... is dimming good, or bad?"

"It could be either," she voiced. "Might as well follow the path to the next stone and see what that does."With a look at Fury that could have meant anything, she turned and followed the stag, careful not to step on any stones.

Breeze sniffed and continued on, following the path directly. In some places, where the gaps were too wide to step, the stag hopped as best he could to the next stones. When he reached the next cheetah rock, he first laid one hoof upon it.

Minstrel looks around uncertainly, he'd never been to the other obelisk and hadn't gotten a full account of what had happened there. Instead of chosing a path to walk, he asks the group, "Should we go in turns? What happens if two paths are followed at the same time?"

Kitty Sprightt Breeze sniffed and continued on, following the path directly. In some places, where the gaps were too wide to step, the stag hopped as best he could to the next stones. When he reached the next cheetah rock, he first laid one hoof upon it. The moment he puts his hoof on the cheetah stone, the stone that Fury is standing on goes dark. Though the etching remains glowing, the glow surrounding it has gone from dim to non-existent.

Ears pulled back, Fury watched the stag continue on the path. While she had her own opinion on the dimming, she did not speak up, only watching to see how it went for them when Minstrel spoke up.
"Why don't you give it a try?" She nodded to somewhere on the other side. "Pick a stone and go." Might as well, if the others were continuing on. Her attention immediately turned back to the stone under her hooves. Really, she didn't think the dimming was a good thing, much less going completely out.

Minstrel nods at Fury, looking disappointed that the stag's actions had not lit up the stone. Picking the yellow path he starts off, taking care to step on each stone along the way.
((Fury took the dark brown & Breeze took the light brown?))

Breeze looked back over his shoulder and frowned, taking his hoof off the cheetah stone. "I suppose it was a bad thing, then," he said, and started back to the northmost stone. "Perhaps the paths aren't laid out in sequence?"
[[That's correct, mage!]]

*****sheepcakes Minstrel nods at Fury, looking disappointed that the stag's actions had not lit up the stone. Picking the yellow path he starts off, taking care to step on each stone along the way.Neither the obelisk nor any of the stones seem to change luminosity as he walks along the path. *****Kitty Sprightt "I suppose it was a bad thing, then," he said, and started back to the northmost stone. As soon as he takes his hoof off the cheetah stone, Fury's stone resumes glowing in its dimmed state. [general OOC note: please allow other players to respond for themselves, instead of assuming that another character is doing something in particular. thank you!]

"Oh, there it goes again," he muttered, and began to nose around the stone Fury stood on. "Curious, quite curious. I suppose it's the stones, then, and not the paths? But then why bother laying them... ?"

Kitty Sprightt (sorry for all the edits - i keep making stupid grammar errors lol) "Oh, there it goes again," he muttered, and began to nose around the stone Fury stood on. "Curious, quite curious. I suppose it's the stones, then, and not the paths? But then why bother laying them... ?" Once all of Breeze's hooves cease touching any pale brown stones, the stone Fury is standing on begins to glow brighter again.

Fury decided to finally give it a try herself. She stepped off the cheetah stone and onto the lighter ones she'd not yet walked on, not looking back to see if the glow went out again. She figured Breeze would let her know, and started towards the other cheetah much farther away, finding it a pretty roundabout path compared to the dark brown. She hoped Breeze won't mind her attempt after his own.
