One way or another, she was going to get through all of this... and try to help as many other people as she could. First things first, though, she needed to gather some power... "But...looks can be deceiving, can't they? Silk hiding steel, or some poetic thing like that."Youmu went to go for her blade, before the man chomped down on the slice, his utter relaxation as she prepared for a battle telling."Easy..I didn't come here to pick a fight. I was just..in the area, and figured I could see what the fuss was about."Youmu's hand didn't lax from the blade as the pizza-eating demon slayer closed the box..and started to spin it around on his finger."You'll get that fight you're looking for, soon enough. Kisa...Although the immediate area was actually fairly clear of foes, and her growing team took out a punk demon that had reared his head in the hopes of grabbing one of her Candelabrum. That hadn't gone very well for him... and it was going to go much worse for anyone else. She'd bled for them, and had no intention whatsoever of giving them up. KisaAs she took down another foe, Kisa considered for a moment. This area looked to have been largely cleared of foes, and that meant it was time to move on. With a quick nod to herself, she began picking up the pace, hoping she'd be able to run across more of her friends in the near future. This looked like something way too big for her to face all alone. KisaThe next demon that came towards her was frightening - skulls, sword, the works. Unlike the others, however, this one - a Taraka - seemed more interested in helping her instead of fighting her. Well, Kisa certainly wasn't going to object to that, and a powerful physical attacker would be an excellent asset. "Show me a hero, and I will write you a tragedy"He didn't know what to say to Minori other than what he did, and he knew from so many fights in the past that when she said they would do things together, that he didn't have to stand on his own, she meant what she said. And she was right...maybe it was foolish of him to think that he had to do all of this on his own, that dragging them into it wasn't what he was doing so much as allowing them to support him when he knew how many of these things out there were probably aiming for his head. The Lord of Darkness probably had a bounty on him already over Daisoujou, after all. Maybe now was...the time to come clean with them. To tell them the truth about what had been plaguing his sleep of late, about the thing which attacked him, about this Candelabrum that he held and what it meant to Kisa and this war at large. He wanted to tell them, but...no, why wouldn't he tell them in the first place?
"Minori, do you remember the day I came to school covered in blood? Carrying that 'prop' skeleton's skull?" he recalled the recent event clearly, the battle that he had struggled through in that morning...the looks he had gotten, before he had explained away the obvious suspicion as best he could, "That...was a Fiend. A powerful creature from the Underworld, one of many vying to gather the Candelabra under their control for reason I'm not totally sure of. But what I do know...is that Lucifer...one of the ones responsible for this war...wants them to be united. He wants that...and the Fiends are all too pleased to oblige. I took mine from that demon that attacked me, the Daisoujou, but I did have one before...how I came across it isn't my story to tell, though. I assume that's why I am being targeted, though. Why I'm still being targeted...and why the worst of the monsters out there right now...they're all looking for me, for Kisa, and they won't stop at anything to get to us. ...Understand?"Quote: 30 Tokens

KisaMeanwhile, the ambushes were continuing - and Kisa winced as the High Pixie was separated from the group and didn't look like she'd be able to return anytime soon. The Demi-Fiend exhaled softly, then charged forward to wreck the demons that had attacked her friend. She wasn't going to go easy on them for that one, and in a few short minutes, their bodies had been scattered across the ground. KisaAs Kisa continued on, a spiral of flame coalesced into a humanoid shape, then moved over to her. It was a second elemental - and seemed quite friendly, actually, more than willing to join her and cooperate with the Aquans that had joined her earlier. Well, she certainly wasn't going to object to THAT, and greeted it almost as warmly as it had greeted her. At least she had a decent-sized force now... KisaWell, it was probably time to test out her group of allies, and Kisa carefully directed them into battle against a horde of Preta that had stampeded around the cornet to smack on the walls of buildings and leer at the figures inside. This was madness, and she'd have gladly taken several hundred extra warriors to help out... but you did the best you could with what you had. Amagai Genji, the Investigation Team's Gentle Fist
"...You see the surface, but my eyes see more..."He had never fully lost consciousness from the blow that he had suffered from the Fiend in the alley, but as he lay in a perpetual haze of blood and pain from the impact in the rubble, he barely registered the feeling of Minori placing his head into her lap and tending to his wounds, gravely sending off one of her own allies to hold off enemies so that she could finish healing him. Again, in his gut, he felt horrible for what she had to endure here...how he wished he could protect her, but in the end, she was saving him, over and over. Gently he rose from the ground, but stayed within her grasp, not wanting to be separated from her and nearly as dead as he had been moments before. But over her shoulder he saw their leader returned, likely having heard the crashing impact and come to help. Fortunately, none of them had died. This time...but from the story that Soji told, their fate was likely going to be this sort of peril over and over again. He was afraid...but at the same time, it was good to know some of the genesis of this horror so that they could better understand their situation.
He got to a knee and paused, placing a hand on Minori's shoulder and looking up at him with determination.
"Soji-senapi...I know that you are trying to protect us, but we will be a much more efficient unit if we can assist one another, won't we?" he offered firmly, before lightening up a little and glancing at Minori with a grateful smile, "Besides, as you can see...Minori at least can take care of herself. Yes?"

His lack of inclusion of himself proved to be prophetic; the sound of a horn echoed nearby and while the power therein wasn't enough at this distance to lay low the other two...the already-weakened Genji took the hit bluntly, at full force. He coughed as his chest contracted violently, blood splattering on the ruins. s**t...he had just...started to...
"Min...ori..." he coughed, doubling over, "I'm sor...ry. I'm dragging...you both...down." He doubled over a little more, clutching at his chest. Was this...complications, rather than the violent injury, the way that he died?!Quote: 0 Tokens.

Youmu KonpakuYoumu had been brushing off her...uneasy encounter with Isamu, when her phone went off again. A death video...
"I will save him.." the girl called confidently, darting down the downtown area...and into the location in the video. It was...a surprisingly short encounter, but just as the being would go for the killer strike on Genji...
"Aciel!" she called, beckoning her strongest demon towards the target...and quickly moving to the Genji and the gathered folk there.
"You guys need to get out of here..." she called, holding her blade at her side. "I'll handle this...Don't worry."
Her demon was powerful..She was strong...and, she wouldn't let them die. Not again...
Healing energy washed over the wounded berry haired warrior..letting him move at full speed away from the situation. He would be safe...Now, she just had to focus herself. KisaRather unfortunately for the Matador, though, he seemed to have scared off everything in the immediate area... and so Kisa's journey forward was actually quite quiet, rather more so than she'd expected. It wouldn't be long until the violence continued, though - and until that happened, all they could do was move on and do their best. KisaFinally, they managed to come across a group that the Matador believed was worth hunting down - a collection of fools who'd somehow gotten their hands on the demon-summoning program, and were using it for the express purpose of summoning demons just to torment them. Scowling, Kisa directed her forces into battle - she didn't like what many of the demons were doing, but many humans could be just as bad.
