 Laying carefully on the desk, Ashlynn continued to swing the net a bit half-heartedly. It was getting harder to begrudge these little guys their fun. Still, she had to remind herself. They can't hold classes until the slimes are gone. And she wasn't particularly willing to forfeit her childrens' education for the sake of cute critters.
 The young grimm's observations had paid off to some degree. She'd spotted a slime in a patch of sunlight. And it looked like it was actually taking a nap! Moving carefully, she creeped closer and, when the slime showed no inclination to move, swooped in and scooped the little squishy thing up. Grinning a little, she carefully pet the slime and was rewarded with a muted, but happy sounding murrr.

So, nets hadn't worked (yet), lunging didn't work. Herding didn't really work either. Everything, logically, that should have worked hadn't. Ashlynn tapped a finger against her cheek as she thought hard. After a moment, she saw that she'd left the classroom door open and hurried to shut it. Maybe if the slimes had one less escape, she'd have better luck.
 Hamish couldn't have been more delighted if he'd tried. Not only did he not have to worry about classes, he got to watch a lot of slime creatures roll and bounce about. He approached a few, just wanting to pet them, but they'd bounced away. For a moment, he looked heartbroken at this percieved rejection. Then, he remembered that there were many, many more slimes. And surely there were some that would be willing to let him pet and play with them. He just had to find them!

It was more blind luck than skill that Ashlynn had decided to just start blindly swinging her net again at the exact moment a rather pretty pink slime had decided to bounce around the desk. The chimera felt the net go heavy and pulled it in quickly, staring down at the slime inside.
"Well, she murmured as she carefully reached in and stroked the little creature. "That was sort of anti-climatic."
Trundling along happily, Hamish was definitely more interested in watching the slimes than chasing them around. They were so funny! Still, the Headmistress and other teachers had asked for help in getting the slimes out of the classrooms and he did want to help. But if he took a lot of break to watch and giggle, would that really hurt anything?
No. No, it wouldn't.

Tiny wings flapping uselessly, Hamish had decided to play chase the slimes. It wasn't really doing anything helpful, but it let him work off excess energy. Besides, he was enjoying the sheer variety of the slimes.
 Galatea had arrived on Campus more or less on a whim. There was nothing quite like visiting the old place. And when she'd heard that they needed help in clearing out some sort of infestation, well... Okay, she might have decided to help, but there had been a little reluctance. An infestation of what? And more importantly, would she get hurt or filthy?
As it had turned out, neither had happened. The slimes bouncing merrily along were harmless and relatively clean. There were just a lot of them. And no one was more surprised than Galatea herself when, quite by accident, she'd reached out to grab a slime mid-bounce, and succeeded.

After a brief rest, Hamish thought that he was more than ready to begin chasing slimes in earnest. Of course, he'd be extra careful to not hurt any of them. But maybe if enough people chased 'em, they'd get out of the classrooms?
 Clarity hadn't been entirely sure about going to the Academy. But Zella had promised her that it would be okay. That the Academy was very nice and that she'd learn a lot.
She was definitely learning about slimes. She'd found an out of the way corner to sit and silently watch as students, teachers and slimes stampeded past. She thought that she rather liked the slimes. They were funny to watch and weren't actually hurting anything. But there were so many of them! She'd already tried to count them all and had long since given up.

Chasing after a small group of slimes, Hamish was laughing fit to burst at their antics. To his eye, it looked like the slimes knew this was all a big game. They weren't afraid at all. And that, the little hybrid thought, was pretty great.
Clarity was enjoying watching a particular group of slimes that seemed to have had enough of the chase and had decided to take a little nap. She let them be, content to quietly watch.

Hamish found his stride as far as running after slimes went. Giggling softly, he threw himself after a slime, trying to trap it in a trap. The slime simply bounced out of reach.
Clarity had decided that she was going to follow the slimes' example. Making herself more comfortable, she curled up on the ground and dozed off.

Still giggling, Hamish leapt up to try and catch an orange-ish slime, grinning as his fingers wrapped around the little thing.
"Gotcha!" he said, carefully holding the slime as he looked it over. "Oh! You have little wings just like me!"
As she dozed, Clarity would rouse herself up enough to open her eyes when a shout broke through her dreaming. It looked like the slime hunt was still going strong.

Murmuring a little in her sleep, Clarity was vaguely aware of slimes bouncing and rolling around and people chasing frantically after them.
 With a tiny mew of absolute delight, Gelato had joined the chase, tail lashing the air as she bounded after slimes. Of course, it wasn't quite as much fun without her siblings in tow, but it was still pretty darn fun! Yowling a little, the small bakaneko jumped and reached out to grab the nearest slime. Once she felt her hands connect, she held on and rolled as she landed, careful to cradle and protect the slime from being squashed.
"Hello, new friend!" she breathed as she un-rolled her body and beamed at the slime she'd caught.

With a wide yawn, Clarity opened her eyes and stretched. The chase still seemed to be going full throttle, but since the slimes looked happy enough, she figured that they were probably enjoying it. Maybe she'd joined in the chase herself. It would be something to tell Zella all about.
 Kel had decided to take their hunt to the skies. Fluttering above the ground, it was all they could do to stay airborne as they watched slimes bouncing along. And some of the things could bounce so high! Really, the whole thing was kind of amazing.

Sorbet squealed and chased after the little minty slime that had shown up in his cereal bowl with the cereal he poured out. It was so cute, the bakaneko couldn't stand it. It was also incredibly fast. The slime had gone from cereal box to bowl to everywhere, but Sorbet thought he had it -- finally! He set a cookie down with a box trap attached to a string and climbed atop a chair to wait. When the imp slime went after the cookie, Sorbet pulled the string and it was caught! He slid down to lift the box and the slime just "?" at him as it nibble the cookie and he petted it. That was apparently enough to make it want to stay, because after that? Gloop followed him everywhere!

Clarity found that she definitely preferred the slow stalking sort of hunt. She'd rather watch and learn anyway. Running around like a maniac was hardly her idea of fun.
Stilll laughing, Kel swooped low to the ground and landed. It had occured to them that if a slime bounced high enough, it would be dangerous to be in the way.

 The day was not going well for Warren. Slimes were everywhere and they kept getting in his way. One even ate some of his compositions and when he tried to catch it...well, it got away. Dang it. [Erzalie] Slimes! Erza's eyes glittered with happiness as they chased after a nekomata slime...only to switch off and go after a grimm one heading the other direction. They just couldn't stick with it - it was too much fun!

Nope. Just nope. It got away...and there was now a trio playing with a pair of his socks. What even was this day?? [Erzalie] The little chimera continued chasing after the delightful little slimes, giggling and laughing and dragging their plushie along for the ride.

Squeaking a little in surprise as a slime bounced right in front of her, Clarity froze for a moment, eyes wide. It was so close... maybe she could just grab...
The slime seemed to sense her intent and bounced quickly away.
"Ahhhh! You're all so flippin' cute!" Kel exclaimed as they chased merrily after a group of slimes. "Don't run, little friends, I just want to hug you allllll!"
