Celsus Knight of Chronos

"And here I thought you said you weren't holding a gun to anyone's head," said Celsus blandly, without turning around to look at Gevauden. His voice was flat and expressionless, lacking any and all emotion. "By all means, continue telling us you're trying to give us guidance when you're threatening us with, what was it? 'Snapping our necks?' should we choose to go against you?"

A breath eased out of him, visible in the chill air. Celsus's eyes were unfocused, hazy, dulled by some feeling he had pushed aside and suppressed.

"There is a difference," he said quietly, "in offering assistance and expecting us to simply blindly follow what you're telling us is the truth. There are many here who have already expressed attempts at helping, whether you have heard them speak it or not. We are simply doing the best we can with what we have."

His eyes flickered, briefly, to Denebola, but Celsus looked away, back at Caedus.

Gevaudan, knight of Ganymede

"You have a hearing problem. I said snap their necks IF they hurt the Negaverse officers after Metallia is done. That is MY choice so ******** off if you don't like it. I never said I'd snap their necks any other part of the time, but highlight what you like. I also offered MY advice ADDED to the existing information. Information you don't seem to find at all valuable. If you can't get it through your idiot skull what I'm doing to AID this entire mission and instead want to just have a fight with me here and now over SOUNDING pushing, as if that is the main point of us meeting right now, then go right ahead. Blow your horn out your own a**, princess."

"But aren't you also speaking on behalf of OTHER people and appointing yourself as their spokesperson? Who do you lead again?" He asked, looking over at him. Maybe a youma would get him. Maybe, just maybe, he'd get lost in the castle until someone picked him off just because he didn't want to listen to the information he gave him.

Super Sailor Denebola

She was going to drop it, because Gevaudan was shooting himself in the foot with his own words but Celsus was speaking, looked at her and the knight decided to talk again. "That may be your choice, but it's still a threat." It took every ounce of her self control to not step forward because a verbal altercation was one thing.

She wasn't here to fight with a knight who chose to verbally assault anyone that questioned their information. But she wasn't going to stand there and let him berate herself or Celsus, or anyone that shared their view on the matter.

"Name calling doesn't help your so-called cause. Threatening to kill the people here because they might want to take advantage of a situation if ludicrous and won't earn you any respect." She didn't advocate killing in any capacity, but she understood why some might. "It'll just make people wary of you."

Like it'd made her wary of him. It seemed like negaverse tendencies didn't always go away when someone switched sides.

"Besides, I thought you said this was an open opportunity for anyone to step forward and take a stab at leading."

Gevaudan, Sassy Knight of Ganymeade with a slight attitude problem

"So are you agreeing to openly killing every Negaverse officer once their leader is destroyed? That you want to take advantage of that and kill a entire army of officers?" He placed a hand on his chest. "With the others not wanting to kill, that is a startling stance to take, dear."

"Go ahead and go with your respectable stance of killing off the entire Negaverse once you find Metallia. I would love to hear the support."

He stepped aside and gestured. "Lead. Go, address the crowd. Share your valuable information. Tell them what to do. Have fun."

He crossed his arms and watched her. The stage was her's.

Celsus Knight of Chronos

He stood there, without moving, throughout Gevauden's little tirade, his expression never changing, his hollowed eyes slightly unfocused. None of the words seemed to impact him; or if they did, nothing of it showed, Celsus regarding him quietly, gaze hooded.

"No," he said simply. "I lead myself. And also, I'm not your princess; she's in another castle, if I recall correctly."

Super Sailor Denebola

"You wanna put words in my mouth as a diversion, fine but it's not going to change the fact that you threatened to kill people," she replied. "Not once did I say I advocated killing, but you have, multiple times." A brow arched and she crossed her arms over her chest looking thoroughly unimpressed.

"For the record I don't support the notion of killing." She didn't take her eyes off of Gevaudan. "But I'm not going to threaten every single person here because their opinion doesn't line up with mine." Her lips were pressed in a thin line. "But continue making an a** of yourself and trying to point fingers at other people in a poor attempt to cover your own slip ups."

She spread her hands out before her, body tipping slightly in a mockbow. "Be my guest, but you'll never earn my respect."

Aegir, Super Senshi of Silence

A piercing sound carried over the gathering and Aegir turned automatically to look, eyes falling on Gevauden who was not only making all sorts of militant demands, but actually threatening them. While he himself was against violence when it could be avoided and had no intentions of hurting anyone he wasn't compelled to, being ordered around and threatened really rubbed him the wrong way. Who the hell is this guy? The more he listened to the back and forth between Gev, Celsus, and Denebola, the more the one-eyed knight reminded him of a pack of prima ballerinas going after the single lead role in a short season. Imperious. Demanding. So certain that he had the right of things.

The only thing keeping the curly haired super from turning his back entirely was that Gev had given some interesting information in the first meeting, but even that didn't excuse his behaviour towards the others. "The last thing we need right now is in-fighting, for chrissakes. Just having information doesn't mean you're suited to lead, it just means you've got information that should be shared to give the best possible outcome." He stepped forward, cursing inwardly that he was getting more involved when he hadn't wanted to be here in the first place; Gev had already made it plain he didn't understand why people that didn't want to fight were there, but Aegir didn't feel any need to explain himself to anyone.

With effort, he kept his voice as calm and reasonable as possible, "Valuable as your knowledge might be, that doesn't give you the right to be a d**k to anyone here. Or to make demands and threats. I'm sure most of us don't want to kill anyone we don't have to, I certainly don't. Every senshi, knight, and officer is a person. We're all aware of this, so why make such a bloodthirsty and unnecessary ultimatum?"

"It just makes you - and the rest of us, by extension - look poorly." Nevermind in front of our energy-desiring 'guest'. Aegir's stance was open as he faced the knight of Ganymede, not as an antagonist, but as a concerned fellow member of the Order. "Please, share what you know...it's valuable and we will need it if we're going to have a chance going forward with an attack on Metallia's castle."

A glance around him to take measure of the temperature of the crowd - uneasy and unstable at best. Celsus seemed unwell, but ultimately unruffled, the dragonfly senshi however, had the sort of look that screamed 'trouble'. This is awful, no wonder the Negaverse thinks we're inept and useless...we can barely even keep the peace within our own ranks. "But there's no need for the name-calling, threats, and attitude. We've got the same goal, right?"

Gevaudan, Knight of Ganymede

He looked to the other senshi. "I TRIED. I tried and then I was attacked for being too pushy and then whatever I said was flat out ignored. I was told I was taking the role of the leader for just STATING information and tactics. So why say anything more?"

He gestured, as much as he hated to do this, at Castor. "Royal with years of experience and no one gives a ********." He pointed to himself. "Spent years on the other side and I'm being talked down to for giving information freely when I want Metallia dead. I was only giving tactical suggestions to the people who didn't want to kill but still wanted to contribute. I'm sorry if trying to take that into consideration when people will be dying was so damn ******** touchy to everyone."

Andronicus, Squire of Uranus

She headed back to Themiscrya as the bickering started. Ah yes, an Order gathering did not officially start until people started yelling at each other. Castor was... Castor, and it was a good thing to remember that yes, there was a chance of dying and they were going to go kill things. Eyepatch knight over there though and the senshi he bickered with...

She almost wanted popcorn to munch on as she watched the craziness.

Aegir, Super Senshi of Silence

Gevaudan's reaction was acerbic and brimming with frustration. Aegir could understand that, he really could...but he also knew that it wasn't helping. Any of them. He tried again, despite the stinging lash of the knight's tone and words.

"Most of us are...not used to this sort of thing. Fear and uncertainty make for short tempers...and we mostly works as independent contractors, not a cohesive group. I'm sure it's frustrating, but this is the reality and we just have to work through it as best we can."

That there was a lot of bumping heads was unsurprising...and that Gev had been part of the Negaverse made a lot of things suddenly clearer. The knight had been part of a militant group with a very strict pecking order; the open-ended arrangement of the Order was likely maddening. "You're used to working with a cohesive group, having been an Officer. I know this can't be easy for you after that. We're not like that, obviously." He even tried to give the hooded knight a smile, knowing it wouldn't be reciprocated and that his efforts at calming the situation would probably fail.

"I appreciate your efforts and experience. And Castor's, and everyone standing here. But even that doesn't smooth away threats, and I certainly don't appreciate them, regardless of the intent. Your manner is militant and brusque, effective in a battle I'm sure. But most people aren't going to respond to that." Was it really just a case of differing styles? Aegir didn't know, but he really was trying to make the best of the whole situation.

His tone never wavered, calm and cool despite everything; the goal was not to antagonize anyone, but to present a less heated view. "You certainly don't have to offer anything more, if you'd rather not. That's your right, but it's everyone else's right to decide if they want to use it, to follow whomever they decide to follow. If anyone." Suddenly he was very glad for his team and missed their presence at his side; Scholomance and Thyrmr were there, but the others were not.

Aegir gave a nod towards Castor, then one to Gev, Celsus, and Denebola whom he'd moved closer to. He'd done all he could, saying more would just be repeating the same things and he felt tired suddenly. "If you'll excuse my intrusion." The curly haired senshi went back to stand with Virgo and Co., leaving the others to make peace or continue fighting as they pleased.

Gevaudan, Knight of Ganymeade

Aegir spoke, and Gev's tense shoulders, gritting teeth, and prickled mood slowly eased down and evened out. Quiet now, he listened and gave a small nod that yes, that was the point. He had tried his own way to help and prickled at the sudden lashing out, and was always frustrated that he expected that, for this one occasion, for everyone to try working as a team. Instead, he was being accused of trying to lead them all. Part of him wanted to just so the side he traded everything for would succeed, but he also didn't have the same power levels as those higher than him.

With the other senshi done, he watched him walk away, far more subdued than before.

Just as Chara was getting ready to hand over the stone, he clenched it back in this fist, listening to what some loud mouthed a*****e had to say.

"No one gives a ******** what you have to say, whoever you are. Sure, you can have your a*****e clenched all tightly about 'ooooh nooo we don't wanna kill people! We're better that or whatever opposition you wanna show. If anyone doesn't want to be part of the raid, then just get the hell out of the way, right? If all goes bad, then come and say 'I told you so!'." What was with all these people who were stronger wanting to delay things anyway. They were WARRIORS after all! Soldiers meant to fight! Their powers weren't meant for dinner theater!

And something just told him that getting after these guys, in their OWN backyard was just the sort of thing that could ******** with the Negaverse's head. They weren't safe, even in their own castle. They DESERVED this, since the poor weak ones of Destiny City felt that way too.

"You know what I think? We should make some sort of Bomb thing as a preemptive strike! Like, Toss those bastards in right before we run in, and throw those ******** right off guard!"

Corvus, Eternal of Vengeance

"Name calling and threats are pretty par the course for the kind of family reunions our side likes to throw," Corvus, who had remained silent throughout the back and forth, finally piped up once Aegir had silenced the lot. "Just one great big happy fa--"

The senshi of vengeance paused and blinked at the youngster who stepped up to run his mouth. Her eye twitched, gloved fingers clenching into fists as she gave the child a dirty, disappointed look before finally crossing her arms angrily over her chest. "... One in every family. At least a dozen in this one."

If Corvus hadn't been in need of a hug before she most certainly looked as though she might need one now.

Caedus' eyes narrowed as he listened to the group; it was unclear if he was upset or just trying to understand what was going on. He had been silent as he collected the crystals, nodding instead of offering verbal thanks.

Slowly, though, he shook his head, and glanced to Virgo.

"There are…fundamental misunderstandings, here…Metallia is not a living creature. Metallia does not have feelings, she does not care. She is a force of evil. An anomaly amongst the natural order. A shadow cast from brightness. There should be no moral debate in removing her. She is not a human. She is not a person. She is less than that. Less than anything. Metallia has no ethics, no morals. She knows only destruction. It is all she wants."

He sounded tired, and frustrated—and nervous. He was jittery in a way that he hadn't been before, and when they mentioned the Rift—if he was joining them—a visible shudder wracked his body. Though his body was concealed, and his expression hidden, even just mentioning the Rift seemed to make him physically ill.

He paced, still, trying to focus on something else.

"My crystals will not fail," he said, looking first to Celsus and then down at what they had collected. He was quiet for a moment and his head bowed a bit. "You have enough for me to open a passage near the castle. You have enough for me to keep that passage open. For a time. It will not last more than an hour or so." He glanced to Dallol when he answered. "So you will not want to waste your time. But."

His voice wavered, and he had to clear his throat to continue.

"…I cannot join you in the Rift. I cannot go back there."

He did not mean to sound weak, but he had suffered greatly in the dark corners, amongst youma so awful even the Negaverse had corralled them and locked them up.

"I have not the energy to fight, nor the strength to withstand much damage. My body is frail and has not have time to recover. I doubt it is even possible for me to recover. My only skills are those that the crystals provide, and I have only what you have been able to collect it is enough to open a pathway. But…"

He was quiet for a moment and glanced to Metis before looking to everyone else. "…I will stay and maintain the portal. I will ensure it stays open so you have a path to escape. But you must move quickly. If the portal stays open, it will be open for anyone. You—or otherwise—can pass through it."

He let that information settle, and then continued, considering Elpis question of tactics, and Cassiopeia's request for more information on the area, "When I gazed upon their stronghold, there was a clearing. It was only a slight distance from the castle. Perhaps two minutes to walk. It was discreet, though. It would allow you to get your bearings before striking. I do not know what else you may be interested in, down there in the Rift, but it is a good vantage point. I would encourage that if you intend to strike, you do so swiftly, and silently. Even only a moment's advantage is enough to do damage. But, for those that do not wish to fight…"

He did not seem fazed. "It is your right to go as well. To support your friends. To help where you can. A battle is not fought only by soldiers, and if your only purpose is to follow your allies into battle so you can pull them back to safety if they are outmatched. To heal. To strengthen. All who have the courage to make such a stand are valued."

Caedus was tired, and watched the crystals. They seemed to be reacting strangely as he watched them; as he held out an open palm, they began to levitate, spinning in a circle like a slow tornado a few inches above his hand. The light from each crystal spread out in small tendrils, connecting each crystal to the next.

"…I cannot promise Metallia will be there," he murmured. "If she is, I suspect she would be in the castle. But it is true that I did not venture near the castle. Where I was, I could only see it. I did not dare approaching it. I did not want to be captured. I did not want them to know I was still alive. If any where left who would remember me, or my kind. But you will likely find yourself facing agents, first. The territory I will take you to is within their city limits," if they could be called such a thing. His eyes moved from the crystals to Themiscyra. "Perhaps you may encounter civilized youma, or their personal ones, but I suspect the first you will find will be the agents who are in the area. I think they will have to summon the youma after they realize you are there."

The crystals were glowing faintly as the energy flickered between them. He looked towards those who were arguing, and did not seem to want to interrupt them, or put himself in their line of fire. Gevaudan was not entirely wrong, nor Castor, so he said, hesitantly, "I do not think they know I am missing. I do not think they could anticipate an attack. I think we have the upper hand. Anyone who has knowledge of their lair may be able to give you a better idea of what layout to expect. I have no map, and I remember only a vague image. I saw buildings, but I do not know what they were. Any who have been saved from the ranks of the Negaverse is worth listening to, if they remember the layout. It may aid you."

His voice wavered, but he persisted, "Battle is not for everyone, but it is unwise to forget how important support and healers are. Protect them. They may be the only thing that sees you succeed and survive," he said, eyes settling on Altair for a second before he glanced across the crowd.

"Not everyone will need to fight, but I hope that those who go into this battle are prepared for war. I am not asking you to go on my own behalf. I would not ask you to fight, or die, for me." His head bowed, as though there were more he wished to say, but he forced himself from the topic and continued, glancing to Castor for a second. "I have no intention of betraying you. I have no intention of failing you. So many of you have been kind to me. I wish you only success and will do what I can, but if you are not comfortable risking yourself, do not go. I cannot force you, and I will not force you. This decision is yours, and yours alone. If I had my power…"

His eyes settled on the crystal and he seemed strangely distant.

"I would go. But not know. Not like this."

Caedus's hand, slight as it was, trembled.

Thoughts of the Rift, and of being trapped there again, crippled him.

Sabine, Senshi of Tactics

Sabine had spotted a knight familiar to her arrive, and had just been about to wave to the Mars Knight, raising her arm up over her head to flag him down, he moved approach another knight. Still, she was sure he might have maybe seen her, and that was enough. Turning her attention back to the group at hand, she wasn't sure what other planning could be done before another strange knight approached the group, then another. Still, as neither addressed her, she paid them no mind.

Instead her attention was caught by Caedus, and his statements. She felt so sad, seeing him forced to relive his terrible time in the Rift. Moving a bit closer to him, but still staying within the sphere of her group, she called out to him. "I don't think anyone here really expects you to suffer for our sake, Sir Caedus." She said with a small nod. "You've kept your word, that is more than enough!"

At the reveal that the portal worked both ways, she bit her lip and turned back to the group. "Should... some of us stay behind and help defend Caedus should someone enter the portal from the other side? I don't like the thought of leaving him alone... He may have a way of defending himself, he may not... But I dont' think we can risk him getting captured again."

She waited though, to see what others thought.
