Serendipity saw the look that came over his face as she asked him to recall what had happened, and she bit back apologies that were fighting to come out. She hated seeing him upset, and even more so because she was the one initiating it again. But she needed to know what he could tell her, anything that could give her another angle to look things at. She already was at a disadvantage because she hadn't been present at the time.
With a sigh, Serendipity reached over and took Iordane's hand. "I promise I will do my best to help solve this." As he guiding the fae towards the only unpartnered pae there, she turned and looked up at Iordanes with a panicked look on her face. "What do you suggest I do about her child? This is no place for one!" She whispered to him, not wanting the other to hear her nerves over the fact that there was another so young.
Hesitantly, she approached Naomi, glancing nervously at the child, before back up at her. "It looks like everyone else has partnered up. Are you still looking for a partner to work with?"

Was the hat too tight or did that pae hit his head? Harmonia was baffled for a while at his reaction to Pothos. Beyond him being her brother, this type of behavior was usually reserved for Hemrios, did one twin rub off on the other? Even for a Venus event, he was far too forward for her liking. One of them was going to end up pregnant based on eye contact alone at this rate. There was nothing for it the costumed blue pae was getting a cross look.
The mention of Ares now had her convinced this pae wasn't right in the head. "If you had any 'confrontation' with our Father, you would not be breathing." That was if Ares thought the mortal was even worth coating his blade. There was a big chance the pae now accosting his son was not worth his attention. Indeed she wouldn't be surprised if someone asked Ares about the mortals and heard 'what mortals?' Something to that affect anyway. At the moment, the mortal with more in common with Himeros, probably wasn't even aware she was there or speaking.
The purple mortal seemed to be in thought, exasperated as she was with the situation between her brother and the special blue pae everything else had been missed. Thats why the movement of chin stroking caught her eye. Looking at him closely, and appreciative of the distraction, she wondered just what had she missed. There was no way the shameful display of the costumed pae had caused that, surely. If it were the case, then she sorely misjudged this mortal.
Eris still didn't fit no matter how insistent her brother declared it."Eris wants to hurt Mother, flexer was more a cause of disharmony alive than dead." It just didn't work, "Aunt Artemis surely saw something..." That was something she wasn't going to give up. There was no way her aunt didn't know something. The cagey behavior just cemented it.
Her timing was terrible, just as she was speaking there was a horrid scream. Had another of their number fallen? Oh for the love of..lusty angel? "Mortal!" She admonished the caped insanity though if he heard her she'd have been surprised.
She wanted the feathers out of the arrows more than the information. Information was the little gnome's job. He had said something but she dismissed it out of hand. That was until the screams ripped through. Ornaments were gone from her thoughts, though not from her hand as she snatched a few feathers from mutilated arrow shafts. The little plump troublemakers didn't need them if they didn't know what they were even shooting at!
There was some resistance but Haku had gotten her attention. She followed behind him, in the air a bit to get a better vantage point. Blood was of no matter, except that it was here that concerned her. Then the mortals were starting to gather around the mess. It may be the harpy in her, but it was the feathers that had her attention. Those had to matter, who had used arrows like that in the past?
The instant she heard the lovely blue bells of Mayu's voice all other concerns were banished. In their stead was the complete concern over her sister. She looked so stressed, and with good reason. Though she felt her sister was looking in the wrong direction. Of the deaths, none had been innocent mortals. It had been those that Venus cared for, would not casing out the mortals put the other deities in danger?
Her mule had a part to play yet. "You heard my sister, time for the mortals to investigate away." Lowering her altitude she whispered sweetly in his ear, so close he could probably feel the warmth of her breath. "Why not take the distraught little bobble away from the mess. Speak to him from the chaos and maybe you'll get a good answer?" Leaving him with a soft giggle, she took off to form a gorgeous harpy barrier to shoo away the mortals from the scene. "Best do as the lovely lady suggests, we wouldn't want anyone harmed. Such lovely bobbles you are." Her face said smile, her gentle eyes might convey something else to anyone who had spent much time with her. "Caoimhe, be a dear and take over for a moment?" There was no need to way, she had faith in her other sister as she flew to Mayu's side.
Speaking lowly she offered her few words, "Forgive me for a moment of your time, dear. First the God now a cheurb, I fear it is the deities and their companions that are the target. Should Venus not retire to Dolandor?" Only her sisters and Mistress were of direct concern. Still, as her eyes hit the various deities in the room, it was a wonder if one of the would be next.
Her first concern was Mother, more violence upon her temple! Mayu got a look when she dictated action. Telling the mortals what to do was one thing, but telling her and her siblings? Still she had to get a look at he feathers. Just a few glances at the arrows and a question returned to her. Speaking more directly to Pothos as he was the only brother in the area that was being friendly, "Where is Eros?" Mother was in danger, just where was the golden son? His not being there just struck her as odd. Was he hurt some where?

Phaenna returned Mayu's pissed off stare with one of her own. Did mother's canary REALLY think she was that dumb? Of course she knew better but the situation was dire. Phaenna gripped her spear harder, if this feather brain REALLY wanted to start something, Phaenna would certainly finish this!
Thankfully Mayu seemed to get distracted at what Phaenna had just seen and headed off. Phaenna couldn't help but get a little smug smile on her face as she heard Mayu tell everyone to leave. Glorious Goddess: 1, feather brain: 0. Luckily the door opened before Phaenna got too full of herself. "MO-" She was cut off as Venus sent the young graces out and asked to be alone. "-Ther" Great. There was no getting to her now. Phaenna rubbed her brow before blocking off the younger graces before they could leave with her spear. She probably wasn't the best to give these talks but at this point safety was more important to her. "You four, find a weapon if you can. If you can't use one then hang around someone who has one or close to the exits. I don't like what I saw down that hall...And I don't think you should go down there....If the word comes you four need to be ready to get out of here as fast as possible." Her voice and expression were soft but serious with a hint of worry. "If anything does happen, leave the mortals to us." It would be a bit difficult since not all of her siblings decided to come tonight but they'd manage. It was part of her job after all.
Phaenna moved away from the young graces as she settled herself by the closest pillar by Venus' door, her lilac eyes looking between the door and the ballroom. She didn't like anything in this situation.

Whatever question his nephew had in mind would have to wait. The chaos of screaming split the air and the God of Lust's eyes narrowed suspiciously. No, those were not scream of joy by any measure. "Hold that thought, kid," he snapped, whirling and heading towards the hallway where the noise had originated.
No, not screams of joy at all.
Dammit.
Looked like the others were already herding the mortals out of the hallway, those that dared enter in the first place. Others had seemed to hold back on their own. Smart. In passing one, he heard a comment about investigating an arrow. Which one? The one that angel had been shoving in Pae's faces earlier? About time someone intervened before that caused any further confusion.
Seeking out the crazy angel who had been shoving the obvious red herring in Pae's faces earlier, Himeros spotted her and another female making a beeline across the floor for some cherubs on the other side. When they halted, seemingly to make a decision about who to talk to first, he slid up with a conspiring look before whispering, "Hey, ladies? If you're thinking that arrow is going to provide some truth to the mystery, I got some bad news for you. You see that lady over there in the yellow dress?" He pointed out Harmonia across the room. "I'm afraid she planted that shortly after we got here. No idea why she did that...but it's not going to teach you anything about a murder that happened two seasons ago." He frowned, seeming to think before musing aloud, "Come to think of it...she disappeared a lot that night...kept losing track of her. Wonder what she was doing...?"

Still open to questions from Lannister, just have to follow him first XD
The timid Goddess of Beauty had no intention of joining this investigation. She wanted nothing to do with Adonis and his fate. After all, it was all her fault. Or so she thought. It all started with an innocent, stray arrow. Then another. It was her fault Adonis got involved with the mortal. Who could have known they'd have kids? Forever reminders of her blunders...
She felt it though. She knew. And she needed to get to Pothos to warn him.
She flew into the ballroom, unaware of the chaos in the hallway (right now). She had her sights set on Pothos and nothing else. Tunnel vision to everything else in case someone recognized her as the guilty one. She stopped in the air only briefly while she scanned the area for the black mop-top.
"There he is!"
Zipping fast as she could, dodging mortals and cherubs and other stuff (arrows?) she found her brother and looped her arm in his, pulling him away from whatever it was he was doing. It didn't matter. Nothing was more important than what she had to tell him anyway.
"Pothos! Do you feel it? I feel it. She's here, somewhere," Aglaia's heart was racing. She looked her brother in the eyes - eyes that reflected the same pain as her own. "You know something, don't you?" She started visibly shaking, and whispered, "What do we do?"

The little cherub sobbed and continued to cry out for his fallen comrades. "I could have been there to save youuuuuuu....."
He gently pat the giant pae hand on his shoulder. Appreciating the comfort for now.
Todd looked up to the other pae, still sniffling and wiping his little nose with the back of his hand. "I ... I don't knooooooooooooowwww!!!" he cried. "The whole Guard is just ... gone. WRRRYYYYY!!!!" He sobbed a few more times, and exhaled deeply before throwing himself forward and pounding the floor with his fists. "It shoulda been me. It shoulda be me."
After a time, he stood up and wiped all the snot and tears away with his arm. "We have to find them."
This pae did not seem to be listening at all, nor did Harmonia for that matter. She seemed to be stuck on Artemis holding clues or knowing something or what ever. He was about to wave his hands in frustration again when even more hell broke loose. The God of Longing hardly had time to process what had happened when suddenly the mortal was throwing himself upon Pothos.
"Ahk!" he grunted, catching the mortal bust only just. Slumped forward from the other's sudden weight, Pothos blinked in shock. Both because he was now holding this mortal like a bride to be....and because he was now even more panicked that Eris was still here, as evidence of the scream he now heard echoing off the temple walls. Jumping from his own startled fears, Pothos let go of the pae on instinct, dropping him to the floor like a box of rocks. "Eris!" he screeched, throwing his hands up to his head and glancing around panicked. He spared a brief moment to glance down at the pae he had just accidentally tossed to the ground. "Oh...oh I'm sorry!" he gasped, dancing from foot to foot.
As if his raddled brain wasn't enough, Harmonia turned to him with a question he wasn't even sure he had the answer too. Where was Eros? He could have sworn he saw him here earlier. "Um I think I saw him just over th-----Ahhhhglaia!" he blinked as suddenly a pink arm was thrust around his and began dragging him off.
The one who shared in his torment. Who knew what he knew, who had felt what he felt. A play thing to the witch just as he had been, and probably the one he felt the most for. Aglaia was as shaken as he felt. "I feel it Aglaia. Its unmistakable. I know it was her....it had to be her. It all makes sense! But they refuse to see that!" he said softly yet frustratingly as he gripped his hair and tugged on it, taking in a ragged breath and letting it out equally as so. At her last question he went wide eyed.
What could they do? They weren't a match for her, even if he was.... he was just too scared. "I...I don't....know..." he frowned, gently placing his hands on either side of her head and golden locks to try to ease her shaking.
Kylieam had been looking at Lee absent mindeldy one second and the next she was gone. A tiny wail could be heard and scores of pae rushed to the hallway to investigate, Lee included. The songbird was back barking orders to keep everyone away but Ky didn't let that stop him. Not until he had the green and purple demonness back by his side. He couldn't lose her, not with a killer still on the loose!
Chasing after her, Ky sprinted through the hall, skidding to a halt as he found Lee crouched beside a sobbing cherub. Blood marks lined the hall in drag marks and tiny hand prints. Small bows and pink arrows were strewn about as well as some larger arrows lodged into the wall. "Guardians...." he whispered, out of breath as he knelt down beside Lee, glancing at the sobbing cherub. It looked as if his comrades, friends, had been dragged away...no bodies to be found. And he wanted to find them. Ky couldn't blame him but.....were they even still alive?
"Can we find them? I mean....." he stopped and looked over the bloody drag marks again. "Are we even a match for whoever did this...." he whispered.

Clues
Prior to the tragic attack on Venus' little cherub guards, Unseen Erotes and Graces lurked behind walls and pillars, and hid among the shadows.
Party might not be the right word, but try telling that to a cupid with an arrow aimed right for your heart.
The accident in the hallway did put a damper on things though.
---
Of the five murder suspects, at least one of them had a seething hatred for Adonis. Artemis didn't like the pretty-boy, and her sister felt betrayed by him. The God of War was jealous of him, and the other two loathed Harmonia's real mother.
((Surely we didn't...? But isn't that inappropriate? Maybe it is, but pae hook up in the darndest places.))

Kaarina followed after Hjortur, she was a bit on edge from the screams still and it seemed like the deities where starting to get nervous.
Looking over the scene before her she twirled her bangs a bit as she thought. One of the arrows was certainly different from the others. Golden with dove feathers, it seemed rather fancy. "It is, a bit odd that it is so different from the others don't you think? It might be one of the retinue's. The arrow seems a bit to fancy for something a normal pae would have. But which one could it belong to?"
Why would a single arrow be different from the rest? Was it the mark of the killer? Or had they used it to send a message, maybe trying to pin the blame on someone else?

Naomi had to hold Ashen tightly and almost lean back against her son's pull to avoid him pulling her at a run down the hall after the cherubs. She wasn't as eager as most of the pae in the room to hurry after the cherubs in light of what was going on and why they were there. "Ashen would you please stand still for any amount of time?" she pleaded with her son. She barely noticed the pae who approached her until they spoke to her, she looked up from her son when she heard the voice, a familiar voice. "Oh... it's you" she said with a rather even face as she realized exactly who it was. She was not impressed with this pae at all after she had all but acted like her and her son didn't exist a short while earlier. Naomi looked up and down the pae while still struggling with Ashen. "Thought you were partnered up with the god you were hanging off over there" she motioned towards Iordane. Yes she was bitter but after how the pae in front of her had completely ignored her even when she apologized for banging into her .... she felt she was in her own rights.
Ashen pulled against his mom's hands as she tried to keep him from running off once again. He had been looking up towards her for a moment when the other pae approached. He stuck his tongue out at her even though she had looked away from him, he heard his mother's disdain a tone he rarely if ever heard from her. He still wanted to see what everyone else was going to see even if his mom was holding him back.

Seren didn't really have time to consider making comment to Lola's words when the commotion in the hall happened. She hurried after the crowd and gasped in shock seeing the results of the commotion. She picked up a stray arrow off the floor and spun it in her fingers looking at it. "Seems like there may be more to this then we think" she mused looking towards Lola and reached to one of the arrows embedded in the wall flicking her finger against it. "I don't see how these could possibly have got into this wall" she knocked a knuckle against the marble wall.
She didn't get the answer to her second before a scream echoed through the hall. It really didn't sound good but Seren was off after the noise. "Seren this might be a bad idea..." As much as Lola didn't want to go she followed her partner and gasped at the area before them. "Oh my..." This wasn't good...One of the bird things was already telling them to leave. "Wonder what happened here." Lola's voice dropped as Seren pointed out the arrows. "Well...They missed." Sure was a lot of them. Lola made a funny face as Seren mentioned there might be more to it. "I don't know...These are the arrows you were talking about right? The ones the Erotes?" She looked back to the arrows and shook her head. "You think one of her kids did it? I can't see that happening...They seem..Very devoted to her?" It was half a statement, half a question. It seemed crazy...This whole thing seemed crazy. Didn't her hear someone say some of the arrows were harmless? Looking at the wall sure, they looked deadly if they WANTED to be but...One of Venus' own kids? Unlikely in her mind. Really they still didn't have much to work with and something was BOTHERING her. A lot. She couldn't quiet put her fins on it. "We're missing something. Something big. It still doesn't make much sense. All we have are assump-" Lola stopped mid word and her went serious. She had a thought. A crazy one...But one worth checking out. She turned and quickly moved to the bird thing that seemed to be in charge, she seemed to know a lot. "Umm hi, sorry, quick question...Did anyone check for a pulse on the body?"

Hemiros had left the area, probably to find more worshipers. Shaking her head at her brother, she let him out of her thoughts to do as he pleased. Truly believing her family was in danger, she just hoped he had more common sense. Pothos seemed alright if panicking with their sister. Compelled to do something, the goddess approcahed the trembling siblings. "We are stronger together. As a family." Eris had managed it before, but it was their disharmony that allowed it.
Speaking of, where was Eros? His absences in the matter was of concern. Mother's favorite might not share the sentiment but he was always there during the events. There had to be a reason besides not caring.
Looking everywhere in a blur of worry, she accounted for every sibling she believed to be there. The last that her eyes fell on was Phaenna herself. The battle plan as it were was a good one, though staying together trumped it. It was a reminder she didn't have a weapon herself. Her arrow game was poor--though she'd contented all their skills in that matter were poor-- and never really carried one in the past. She was the daughter of Ares so that counted but at the moment she was lost in the chaos.

Hjortur was trying his darndest to ignore the scene happening behind them, the screams and the ushering to move. If they let themselves be swept into whatever it was, it would be all over for them. Still... being so close to Adonis' body was certainly...
Discomforting...
Taking a few steps back, she shook his head. "I am not familiar with the retinue's arrows; perhaps we could ask...?" he turned to look at the scene taking place without them, wondering if it was actually appropriate to continue with their looking. His eyes landed on one group of the deity in particular (Pothos et al), Looking back, he shrugged before glancing to them again. Was it okay to bother them them with a question right now?

Mayu signed heavily at her sister's question and nodded slowly, “I do believe it is best, but there is no getting through to that woman who is in there. She's not in her right mind, dear Lilibeth. This whole murder and investigation has her in a complete fit. Any time it is suggested someone has a vase thrown at their head. As much as I worry for her I also have to realize that our Lady Venus is much more capable than we think. So, with that, I have to continue on with the duties she has given me and for now that is to investigate this.”
She motioned both of her sisters to follow her down the hall. She realized this meant leaving the guarding and investigating of the hall to the Erotes. If they didn't think it important to preserve then that was their deal. Perhaps she had been wrong to keep the guests from investigating this, but she couldn't risk another injury- or death. As they left their post, though, it left the hallway wide open for anyone to take a look around as they pleased.
Before she had the chance to head down the hall one of them stopped her. She waved her sisters on down the hall while she turned to the one who spoke, “Greetings.” she said with a soft bow to the other. She paused at the question, tilting her head to the side at the curiosity of it. “Oh, yes, and we then had a coroner to investigate further into some of the curious injuries he had. Believe me no stone went unturned with his body.”
“May I ask what thoughts or clues led up to this question?” It was one she was not expecting, but at least it sounded like they were really thorough with the investigation at least. Had the details not been shared with them? She'd have to check with the Erotes after she finished speaking with this guest and checking out the hallway.
Lola shook her head. "First I've heard of a coroners report...Mind if I ask what it said? Curious injuries? Like what?" Asking the bird seemed to be a good idea. This was all new information they could use after all. "Oh, I keep hearing how dramatic this guy was...Sounds like the type of guy that would put on a good show...Besides that, we're all just assuming here and this sorta feels like you can't assume anything....No stone left un-turned, you know? Even if it sounds crazy." The naiad gave a small nod, though it was mostly to herself.
