DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT:
Crow was walking down the street, following closely behind her parents. The movie they saw had run a lot later than intended and they were now hurrying to get back home. They were half way there when suddenly they were plunged into pitch blackness. She clutched her stuffed saber-toothed tiger a bit more tightly to her chest than she'd ever admit to. Knuckles turning white as roars of chaos grew to a deafening crescendo in the time frame of what felt like mere seconds. She reached to take her fathers hand, but the sounds reached them - people running and pushing to escape. Trampling anything that stood in their way. It was too late. Blood curdling screams seemed to echo endlessly as people were attacking other people, frothy blood gleaming in the moonlight from twisted up creatures that were once human.
She realized all too quickly that she was on her own now and that the chaos has not ceased, that it continued despite how hard she wished otherwise. That the creatures were now coming for her next. She darted down an alleyway and crawled into a turned over trashcan to hide. She squeezed her plush anxiously as she gazed out, wide eyed and in shock, from behind the soggy pages of a news paper that clung limply to the outer rim of the trash can.

ENTRY LOG: DAY ZERO
Character Name: Sunny Day
Minis account name: Gaufre
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Employment: Unemployed
Faction:
Character description: Fair-skinned Sunny stands at a tall 5'10 accompanied by long, wavy, annoyingly thick brown hair. She has an average build with a somewhat thin appearance; however, this is a result of metabolism more than positive health choices. The gal is more out of shape than athletic or active, reflected in her comfort based fashion to aid her lazy lifestyle.
Miss Day is an unemployed but optimistic recent graduate having studied photography. In the face of disappointment, she's always looking towards the best and brightest of things. Her kind-hearted character combined with this makes her a warm, positive person to be around; however, the lack of common sense found in Sunny can prove to be an obstacle with serious individuals and situations. This leaves many silver linings to be found in her frequent mistakes and tactless nature.

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT: A tired Sunny leisurely walked home in no rush. Another long day, another chapter closing on the continued search for work.
No success was had today, but Sunny wouldn't call it a complete failure. Finding work seemed even harder with recent news worrying everyone; however, she at least was able to find some direction towards online applications for a new frozen yogurt shop in the area. At least it was something, she thought.
Sunny walked silently and entertained herself occasionally with the kick of a stray pebble on the path. It wasn't until the street lights flickered, catching her attention and causing pause. That was a rather unusual occurrence, but then all the lights went out and she was entirely uneasy. Well that wasn't good to say the least. Certainly not normal.
Looking about, Sunny finally noticed the atmosphere was atypical. Unlike the usual returns home after job hunting, the area was much more active. Movement, people running, packing bags into cars. Quickly, it multiplied into chaos.
In no matter of time, Miss Day was caught up in a stream of people rushing in seemingly any direction attempting to avoid the madness that was unfolding. But there was no outrunning it. Fights, struggles, shoving - it all caught up and slowly the stream's end was continually pulled into the fray. Trying to aid a neighboring young man shouting for help from a bloodied 'person' clinging to him, she grabbed his hand only to be pushed aside so he could gain way in the crowd.
Sunny fell to the ground but didn't for a second consider to stop moving. She crawled and scrambled away, the mass of citizens equally working to gain distance. She turned for a moment and looked only to see animate corpses and living man struggling in the streets. Frightened and hoping to avoid the same challenge, she forced her way under a broken front porch to hide.

ENTRY LOG: DAY ZERO
Character Name: Lorcan O’Develin
Minis account name: hanginggallow
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Employment: Prisoner – Petty Theft
Faction: District 2
Character description:
6’0”, lightly tanned, shaved sides with longer curly hair on top, black in color. Blue-grey eyes, wiry build, and a handsome smile that he likes to flash at anyone who isn’t pay attention to their pockets. Skills: Pick pocketing, lockpicking, flirting, running away, and parkour
History: Third generation Irish-Canadian descendent, rather proud of the thought but less enthused about his crumbling family, abusive father, a brother who left home years ago and the only important member his mother trying to hold it together.
Observant – If you want to con someone you have to pay attention to them and observe your surroundings.
Charming - Lorcan is charming, from a young age he has learned that if you want to catch other people’s attention you had to play the role of a prince no matter if they pissed you off or not. People were easy if they were off guard, even easy if they were too busy paying attention to your face than your hands.
Cynical – Let’s face it a thief wouldn’t have any reason to really trust anyone else than himself, even more so Lorcan has spent enough time paying for other people’s crap that he doesn’t have much faith in them.
Guarded – Would rather avoid letting anyone really know anything about him, even more so he has a bad habit of not always telling everything upfront keeping things that may be important to himself until the time is needed.
Do I own any characters in the shop? Yes
DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT: The lights flickered for a moment as the voices from the guards started to raise from their normal check the cages to something was wrong. A grinned flashed on his face as his bunkmate below shuffled forward to the bars.
“What’s going on sunshine?” Lorcan asked jumping down from perch and over to the somewhat hulking body of a man ignoring the grunt he made.
“Looks like someone died, or is dying, a lot of blood.” He folded his arms across his chest not even bothering to look at Lorcan.
“Poor sap, should have just sucked it up a little longer. Oh well.” Dead bodies wasn’t really wasn’t his style Lorcan thought as he headed back towards his bed. The lights flickered again before shutting off completely. A few back up lights on generators cut on as voices rose even louder. Scuffling, yells, more and more it sounded like a riot starting to form before something in orange ran by the cell. Soon a few more, one pausing with a wild grin on his face, blood running from his lips.
“Oh s**t….” Lorcan scrambled around looking for something heavy, anything that he could defend himself with. The cell was of course empty with the exception of blankets which weren’t going to do any good.
A buzzer sounded as the doors open, screeching in agony from the only power being given to them from the generators. Their door opened only large enough for Lorcan and his bunkmate to squeeze out. Something ran forward its arms lashing at the hulking man next to him as blood splattered across the ground. Screams echoed as a body from above fell hitting the railing with a thud before its continued descent. s**t s**t s**t, his feet took off running not even entirely sure of where he was going. Just out. Away. Survive.

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT:
It was that night it happened.
Josie was out as usual, going the nightly rounds as the stores were about to close. Working at Lush wasn't exactly the best paying job, but oddly she managed being able to spoil herself once and a while. Tonight she decided to finally buy that new jacket she had been eying for a while. Almost as if to say 'yeah, look at what I have' she wore it. The winters in this part of the country could be harsh, so at least it was stylish AND practical!
She had been walking across the street when it happened, everything went dark. Then the screaming started, something about an infection. No clearly this was a movie set, right? Only there was another staring right at her... one with something pouring from their mouth, was that...blood?
She didn't even think twice, flight mode kicking in she took off in the opposite direction of the commotion. Only really, there ended up being no direction. She had seen movies of course, but movies with friends were one thing...seeing someones actual intestines spilling out of them as they moved was entirely another.
She did the only thing she could think of, even now she found it hard to find any fault in her decision. The screaming continued, but the dead still walked this very night. Finding a place to duck behind, she hid. It wasn't her proudest moment, but as it stood... others chose the same as her. It was either hide or be eaten, there was no option.

ENTRY LOG: DAY ZERO
Character Name: Elizabeth "Lissa" Buckly
Minis account name: AMItotic
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Employment: Starbucks Barista
Faction: Wherever you want, there are Starbucks -everywhere-
Character description: Magnetic, Inventive, Two-Faced, Irresponsible
Lissa stands at about 5'7", with a mesomorphic build that holds a bit of fat around her thighs and stomach. Her skin is olive-toned and freckly, and in the summer months she works up a decent tan, and her hair is one long wavy mess of brown, generally done up in a sloppy ponytail or bun. Her brown eyes look like they're always smiling, and there's a tell-tale twist to her thin lips when she might be thinking of mischief. Her uniform covers it, but she's got a tribal-looking tattoo running down her back, all the way to her tailbone. She says it's 'symbolic', but her story for what it means changes every time.
Do I own any characters in the shop? No
DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT: Lissa hadn't wanted this shift. But no one was bothering to return her last minute texts, and she'd tapped out on all the favors she had on her coworkers months ago, so here she was, smelling like espresso and pumpkin spice and feeling her mood tank by the minute. There was no way the pay was worth it, she thought, grumbling through the last of her closing routine.
She had been counting down the drawer when the lights flickered and fell.
"The hell?" Lissa tilted her head up and glanced out the window, crinkling her nose in confusion. Outside, all of the neighboring buildings had gone dark, and with her car being the only one in the parking lot it was starting to feel like a real ghost town. Lissa frowned, but ultimately shrugged, pulling herself up and over the counter to get to the front door. If the lights were down, then obviously she couldn't finish her cleaning, so she was giving herself the rest of the night off. Maybe if she were lucky, she could get to that show after all.
She began unlocking the front door when she noticed the edges of a silhouette at the other end of the parking lot, wandering aimlessly towards her car. Homeless, likely, but the way it limped around in the dark gave her pause. The darkness was already making her feel less than adventurous, but then again, it had to just be messing with her head, right? Steeling her resolve, she turned the doorknob with a purposed twist of the wrist, stepping out into the foggy autumn night with her keys held tight.
Lissa made it about three steps to her car when something bolted out from the shadows of the neighboring office and positively decked the shambling homeless silhouette, knocking both figures to the ground. Even at a distance she could hear the dull thud of flesh on concrete, all under a terrible gurgling sound that might have been someone choking. Lissa had no time to think--she took off towards the pair at a sprint, arms up and ready to intercept. "Hey, what the hell! Cut it out!" It was only when she was about tackle-distance away from the pair that she began to realize something was horribly wrong, stumbling to a stop with the soles of her feet.
The figure on the bottom was unresponsive, eyes open but catatonic in the pale moonlight--it was the attacker who groaned and gurgled, his shirt stained from the neck down by something dark and wet that oozed from his mouth. Lissa watched, frozen in fear, as he hissed at his assailant, gauging at the person's shirt for something underneath.
"What the actual ********," Lissa whimpered, and the fighter twisted his head slowly, meeting Lissa's frightened stare with milky dead eyes. For a moment, they all stood suspended in time, the blood in Lissa rising until it felt like she was dizzy, like she'd forgotten how to breathe. And then the attacker, the creature, let out a foreboding hiss, and all at once her tension collapsed like the crashing of a wave and she ran, she sprinted, past her car, past her store, past anything that might have resembled safety. It didn't matter where she went, as long as it was away, her car would be there in the morning.

ENTRY LOG: DAY ZERO
Character Name: James Bridges
Minis account name: Ravvlet
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Employment: Early Childhood Development (Daycare/University Student)
Faction: University
Character description: Mr. Bridges is fairly short with brown hair, has a moustache that he waxes, red rimmed glasses and a matching bow tie.
James is kind, honest and loves kids. He works part time for the daycare attached to the school, and uses words like "wonderment" and "curiosity" in place of things like "little destructive terrors" to describe his often unruly charges. This is a bit of a problem, as he rarely has his feet on the ground. A dreamer, sometimes his fellow students and the other staff have to drag him down to earth before he follows through on one of his crazy ideas.
Like the time he let his preschool class fill the fountain with dishwashing soap bubbles.
James is also a bit, well. Unreliable. Punctuality is not one of his best skills, and he often has to be repeatedly reminded and harassed about deadlines.
Do I own any characters in the shop? YES
DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT:
"Wouldn't you know it," James commented to his coffee cup jovially, "I've got a paper due tomorrow!"
One James Trevor Bridges was hunched over some forgotten corner of the cold and cobwebbed reference section of the university library, trying very frantically but ineffectually to pen an intelligent review of the attachment parenting method. It'd likely be going a lot better if he could stop checking Neko Atsume on his phone. He sighed lovingly at his original, and very common, plain white cat. He'd named it Susan, and was extremely fond. He liked to imagine that if he could have a pet in the dorms, he'd just put out cat food and toys and acquire one in a similar manner -
A sudden noise startled him from his reverie. Who would come back here? Back when he had a particularly atrocious roomate, he'd gone DAYS without seeing anyone outside of classes, camped out with blankets and snacks in this very same area -
"Oh, you don't look so good," he chirped cheerfully, only the slightest wobble in his voice. He regretted not having written a paper on degenerative neural diseases, because the figure lurching toward him seemed to suffer from a whole gamut.
"Shut up, man, you've been gabbing off all night." called a voice from an aisle over. James nearly jumped out of his skin - his secret garden of knowledge and cats had been discovered - but the speaker had seemed to draw the ire of the foaming, sickened figure, who shuffled toward it with a menacing glare.
At least, that's how he would remember it later. After that, it all went dark. Literally. The lights flickered, then all sizzled out at once. The next thing he could recall hearing were the screams.
Some time later, James sat huddled behind the toilet of the unisex restroom, clutching his phone and adjusting his glasses with a shaking hand.
At least he still had Susan.

ENTRY LOG: DAY ZEROCharacter Name: Charlotte Rhodri
Minis account name: Improbability
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Employment: Student??
Faction: District 1 University
Character description: EHHH I DON'T WANT TO DRAW A REF THIS IS CLOSE ENOUGH FOR NOW
- Curious: Charlotte wants to know everything. About you, about the zombies, about the secret catacombs beneath the city that were built by alien ghosts, and so on. She carries a notebook at all times for taking notes of things she considers to be important, making her a good source of information and observation provided you can keep her on topic. Any time the hair on the back of someone's neck is standing, they are practically guaranteed to turn around and find Charlotte watching them. At least it's not a zombie, right?
- Courageous: In pursuit of knowledge (and evidence), one has to be willing to risk everything. Reputation, life, limb, limb, limb, and limb, and just some of the many things at stake every day. Charlotte's willing to face danger head on to prove herself.
- Conspiratorial: No one ever told Charlotte not to believe everything she saw on TV, or read in a book, or heard on an extremely fringe internet forum for people who believed in things like ghosts, werewolves, lizard people, and, well, zombies. She could talk to you for hours about hypothetical causes and solutions to the zombie epidemic if you let her. And you will, because you have nowhere else to go.
- Stubborn: Once Charlotte gets an idea into her head about something, it's permanent. You can't convince her otherwise. And sometimes that means if she's going to do something really stupid or dangerous, you can't talk her out of it.
Do I own any characters in the shop? Y
DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT:
First it was one car alarm going off, then two, then a chorus of them. The lights immediately cut out. An earthquake? Not likely - the constellation Leo wasn't visible yet, so its cosmic energy couldn't be interfering with the northern hemisphere quite yet. No, the star chart clearly indicated Cetus was approaching, bringing plague and disease. Normally nothing a little bit of vitamin C couldn't handle, flu season and all that. Everyone knew the star energies were responsible for things like that. But Cetus was supposed to be extra bight this year...
Charlotte glanced up from her pile of books in the library, to the nearest window. The early evening light cast everything in cool colors and silhouette. People were walking around campus. Some of them were shambling around campus. And one, blood frothing from their mouth, plastered themselves against the window and began biting someone. On the other side of the bookcase, someone was scrambling for the door, shouting about the infected. Charlotte simply stood still and watched, eyes wide.
"I was right!" she crowed before clapping both hands to her mouth. A trail of amulets and good luck charms jangled from her wrists.
On the other side of the bookcase, someone screamed, and fell. But something else was still moving. Bookshelves were being knocked over, and in the near-darkness of the library it was hard to see what was doing it. There was light coming in from the windows, something in the distance was on fire. People were screaming. There was no time to do anything but hide, because if she died now, how would she ever solve this?
Fumbling in the dark, she managed to find a hiding place underneath one of the former shelves. Nestled in the safety of a small space and hidden from sight, she closed her eyes and counted to ten. Then she pulled out her notebook, and in the light of the burning buildings, began to write.
