They were exchanging opinion over the creature they just beat when they saw a rather tall figure passed by, he was yelling and running past them, closely followed by a crawling creature that didn't even give them any attention.
"....Roland?" Shu frowned at the familiar face, and one second later, she realized the hunter needed help. Hammer on hand, the girl pinned the creature on the ground to save him more time to escape before hitting it like a giant golf. The creature slid away and Shu took the advantage to get to Roland.
"Are you okay, Roland? Did you get bit or clawed by it?" The petite girl swirled around the hunter using time to resume his breathe. "Why are you alone? Don't you know it's dangerous?" Shu frowned at her friend, forgot a while ago, she was in trouble being a loner.

The spitter got up quickly and climbed towards them at high speed, when the two heard the lizard-like noises, it was too late. The mouth dripping saliva was right above them, just a few inches - A loud sound followed by a tall figure glided into the tiny area between them and the spitter, it was pushed into a closed store, after breaking the window glass.
"Hey Cutie Pie, your friend?" asked the tall man with a scythe. "Ace from Sun, nice to meet you, buddy." The sun trainee smirked, casually stood next to them with a weapon as tall as him. Hair dyed in two neon tones and had eye-catching make-up over his eyes, Ace glanced at the store where the spitter flung into. "Take care of your dear friend, okay?" The gloved hand ruffled the girl's head, chuckling.

"It's only a flesh wound," Noah said as the zombie fell and stopped moving. Cautiously, he leaned over to poke it with Laz's blade, just to make sure it was dead. He straightened up and glanced around the store. He'd played inside racks of clothes as a kid; they made excellent places to hide. He didn't particularly want to find out what might be concealed inside these. "Yeah," he agreed. Technically they were here to clear these things out, but it had taken four of them to kill one, and it would be better if they weren't in a cramped space.
Mik got another incredulous look as he moved to hold Horace's hand. The blond kid really should go back to base, he thought. Why was Mik even here if he didn't want to fight?
"You ok?" he asked Al in an undertone as they made their way out of the store.
Behind them, there was a rustle as something with too many appendages moved between the clothes and crouched briefly over the dead zombie. Then it skittered after the group of hunters, its swollen belly dragging on the floor and its claws making a rattling ticking noise.

She was in the presence of the great Sun goddess and Captain America!
She wondered how the two's team work would go.
"EEP!" She bounced away from the hand grabbing her, behind Nora who was behind Chris.

"Not sure," Jordan answered Shu's question. He strongly suspected the things had once been human, bu there was no way to be sure. "They don't look like any of the zombies I've seen in Halloween. It's weird."
They were interrupted by a yell, and Jordan turned quickly to see Roland sprinting out of a nondescript door in one of the walls. A horrifying tangle of blackened limbs dragged itself along in his wake. Shu promptly batted the creature away as it moved towards them, and Ace's scythe flung it further, breaking through a store window. It hissed and spat something foul and greenish, and Jordan pulled his scarf up over his mouth and nose. "Good reflexes," he said. "I guess here's our next customer. You okay, Ro?"
Even as he spoke, he headed purposefully for where the zombie was dragging itself back out through the window, leaving ichor on the jagged edges as it moved. It spat a jet of stinking liquid at him; he couldn't dodge all of it, but he managed to keep his face out of the spray. Where the stuff hit bare skin on his arm and the side of his head, it itched and then stung fiercely. He ignored the pain and swung Ferros back, then around and over in a powerful smash, feeling and hearing the crunch of zombie parts as Ferros's runes lit up red.

The moment he passed Shu he held Sylvia out, hooking the curving scythe into a near by tree swinging himself around just in time to see Shu smash the spitter away with a hissing howl. "No, no it didn't get me, it missed spitting on me and hit a door I was about to go through." He held up a hand shaking his head, "I know it was dangerous, I've been moving around the back halls and storage rooms, I figured with all the chaos out here someone might have hidden in a smaller area back there," the frown on his face said enough about how well that search had gone.
No sooner had they said that and the monster was back again, stepping around the smaller Hunter he brought Sylvia up between himself and the monster just as another arching blade caught and flung the beast aside. It was a new hunter, a younger one at that, but far taller then him none the less, and a scythe user too.
"Roland, good timing Ace," that name felt wrong on his tongue, that's what Rep called Harrison on twitter all the time and it just sounded weird to use that same phrase to refer to someone out loud. Even as the creature recovered another familiar hunter stepped forward, the heavy thunder of Ferros crashing down on the beast like music to his ears. The zombie wasn't long for this world.
"Great reflexes actually, did you teach him that trick Jordan?"
Walking over he twisted Sylvia in his hands the scythe breaking apart into multiple links, "Hold it still Jordan." Suddenly Roland had the links of his weapon wrapped around the spitters head pulling tight like a noose strangling the creature and crushing its throat. The result to say the least was messy as acid burdt from the creature as it was strangle thrashing under Ferros' weight and Slyvia's grip.
"Shu? Mind finishing this uo before it gets away again?"

Emelina really needed to get a better ******** cell phone. The standard one that she'd been issued was no better than a rock. The timestamp on Rep's message? Hours ago. Hours and she'd only just now gotten it!! Coat and scarf were pulled on, hair was ruthlessly pulled into a tight knot at the base of her skull, and she was off. Someone was manning the portal at the lighthouse and ushered her through without any real details other than the initial communique.
Deus Ex, it seemed, favored speed over strategy. Moving over to the tents set up to care for the injured, Lina couldn't help the thrill that ran through her body. This was what she'd come for! Not chopping up creatures or trying to find the Secrets of the Monster Universe. No, the Moon Trainee had come here to learn and help humans. They were her primary concern.
Ironically she had a weapon that probably would have been quite adept at dealing with any threat. Certainly Dhakir was eager to taste blood against his blade, eliminating all challenges and comers. Doomed to disappointment he was complaining, endlessly, inside of his partner's head. It was nothing new.
Customer...... <Don't -Argh.> Z's warning came too late, the girl already imagined they held their weapons with bright smiles, as if the four of them going to win the best customer service reward by serving their customer nicely. The petite Death huntress couldn't help her rich imagination to go wild, she was a Pisces after all.
The wrinkles between her brows disappeared and Roland received a hug after he explained what happened. Jordan, of course, continued to demonstrate his Sun strength by pinning the creature on the ground while Roland put his scythe into good use. It was effective, except the thing squirted acid and stinky liquids like a spraying faucet. Whatever it jetted out was everywhere, on their clothes and the floor, it was a mess.
Shu, hearing Roland's request, was more than willing to take the task. However, the force was impaired as it was the first thing she handled something ejective. The whatever substance got onto the lenses of her glasses and blocked her vision. She made some muffled whines as the pink hammer randomly went down and smashed on the face portion. It wasn't enough to give the spitter its decease.
Her hands meddling in mid-air, like a blind person for the sudden situation, a bit helpless.

Ace gave a small smug smile to the compliments and answered the question directed to Jordan helpfully. "Yup, we had a spar, and I learned a lot." Seeing how awfully another three suffered, the tall man made a face and reluctant to deal with the creature.
Yet, the short girl ran over like a mini scooter and got herself in trouble. He walked towards her, planned to help her calm down a little after finishing off the infected, but the girl in panic wasn't pay good attention of where her hammer went. The scythe raised up, aimed to behead the creature was stopped by the end of shaft of the hammer.
"Oh s**t." It jabbed at the soft portions of Ace's waist, he groaned and curled up for the unexpected pain, unable to move for a moment.

What what Peyton had seen, and experienced, in her time on deus, a cavalier attitude was gained through extended time and exposure to this sort of thing. She'd wondered the same thing on her first large mission. How everyone had seemed so damn calm when time itself had reset and people were dying around them. Now she knew.
Another flick of her wrist sent a splatter of putrid blood in an arc across the floor, then she was following Finn's example by pulling her scarf up over her nose and mouth. Just in time to watch the beast from the back come scuttling in on too many legs and with way too many mouths. "That's disgusting." But Oliver was charging in, offering the initial blow, and it was a heavy one. She gave a low whistle in echo to Finn's praise. "That's how it's ******** done, champ."
Couldn't let the Lifer have all the fun though. Pey waited for Finn to do his Moon thing, deflecting some of the burning nastiness the thing spit towards all of them, then she was charging in herself.
A gaping maw howled at her as she got near it. Apparently Oliver had pissed it off, but it didn't matter. The sound stopped abruptly when she slammed the hard ring of her hilt into it's face(she thought it was it's face). A satisfying crunch followed, and that set of jaws flopped uselessly at her as she slashed at the body of the thing before ducking back and away from a vicious swing.

Along one of the shopping areas, not far from the camp there was a thin trail of blood droplets, red rather than the black viscous fluid that the full blown infected tended to drip and apparently rather fresh.

Fresh from Greece and with his arm no longer in a splint, Jack arrived with his new coat, a new set of contact lenses, and a thorough satisfaction at hearing he had unlimited access to runics. While zombie hunting seemed a fine place to begin practicing with his new strength (he could see Finn even from afar, spear whirling around a tiny figure he assumed was Peyton, and called out "Good job murdering without me, you dicks!"), the immediate view of injured citizens reminded him that triage was just as important.
"I see you really do have initiative," he greeted one Emmelina, inspecting one of the would be patients over. "This is as good a first step as any."
But then he caught sight of the trail of blood and frowned. Had one of the humans wandered out? "Going to check something out," he added to her, as it would be idiotic not to let at least one person know, stranger or not. (Well, just as idiotic to check it out alone too maybe, but he felt capable on his own.)
Sword summoned as a precaution, he ducked out of the haphazard camp to investigate.

Breathing through his mouth still wasn't helping in the fullest extent but Milo at least could be glad none of his gag reflexes were getting hit because of the acidic smell. He finally, at least, managed to find a few spare seconds as his comrades went after the new foul creature to pull his scarf up to cover his nose like a few of the others had. "Really is." Years of watching Power Rangers did not prepare him for these types of creatures. They didn't reach levels of this gross-ness. They just tended to look neat (this one.... kind of did... in you tilted your head and if it weren't trying to spit acid on them).
As Oliver and Peyton got their attacks in, Milo prepared himself for another opening between the two. It did in fact seem angry from Oliver's strike from his axe and more so after Peyton took out one of his jaws. Milo, however, didn't seem to manage to do as awesomely. Even with as hard as he wrong the naginata at the creature, attempting to cleave it downward onto its skull and hopefully tear it in two or something. It found a little adrenaline in its remaining bits of energy and managed to dodge his attack, whacking him good with its tail in the process.
