The stare down didn't last long. Inari pounced forward, taking the ghost out with ease. With that, the incense went out, attracting no more ghosts. The fox turned to face Leon, tails wagging proudly. She howled a bit in victory before bounding over to paw at Kai. It was as if she was yipping, 'Did ya see!?!'.

Kai merely let out a growly yawn at the Arusune, just wanting to go eat and fall asleep again. The fox was still in a chipper mood, despite this, and took her place by Kai's side. "Alright you two. Let's rest for the night." Leon chuckled, leading the way back to the Pokemon Center. After entering, he went right for the food with Kai, making sure he didn't just eat the entire food bar. It wasn't long before food was doled out to pokemon before most of them got returned to their balls. Kai and Inari were the only ones he'd leave out for now- Kai never was condemned to stay in a ball, and Inari was a reasonable size and rather cute. And interesting.
After filling up, Leon got a room to stay in for the night. After entering, he flopped on his bed with a sigh. Before he could let sleepiness settle in, his pokegear went off. Another text from his beautiful girlfriend. He read it, and laughed. Man, he really couldn't wait to beat Chuck and get Fly. He really wanted to be there to see her reactions. Maybe he even succeeded in making her flustered. Anyways, he got to writing up a reply.
After sending the text, Leon kicked off his shoes and went to bed for the night. After playing with her shadow for a bit, Inari curled up beside Kai to go to sleep. The large gator was already snoring.

Leon woke up the next morning, feeling quite refreshed. And also, the weight of his starter's heavy head on his chest. Kai had woken up a bit earlier, it seemed, and went over to plop his head upon Leon's chest in order to wake him up for breakfast. Gently pushing the gator off of him, he got up and took a shower, changing into some clean clothes. Inari creeped out from under the bed with a 'good morning' yip. "Alright you two. I'm going to work with Delta today for training. Soon though, we'll be challenging Chuck. It'll be a tough battle, but i'm confident we'll do well together." Leon told them before he packed up and got ready to leave the room.
After a nice little breakfast, Leon headed out of the pokemon center, Inari and Kai following. It didn't take him too long to find another trainer up and ready for a battle. "Alright! I can finally put my bugs to the test!" the other trainer had beamed. She seemed pretty proud of her collection. Leon almost felt bad as he let Delta out into battle against her Pinsir. "Sorry if this seems a bit too unfair - I need some more training with this one." Leon said, seeing the shock on the girl's face. He was worried she was about to forfeit, but her expression seemed oddly cheery. "Oh wow! A real shiny rayquaza?!? And i'm going to battle against it? I-it's an honor! I'll do my best!" the girl exclaimed, rather dazzled by the sight of the legend.
To Leon's surprise and confusion, Delta appeared in her normal form. Yet she was still holding the mega stone. Did she... not want to be in her mega form? "FINALLY A BATTLE." Delta stated, not seeming bothered by the fact she hadn't mega evolved. In fact, it didn't seem like she cared to do so. "Alright Delta. Start with Air Slash!" Leon directed Delta. "Oh! Delta is such a good name! Pinsir, get back at it with Double hit!" the girl bug trainer commented, then ordered her pokemon. Delta managed to shake off the attack, retaliating with another air slash and taking down the Pinsir.
Unfortunately for the girl, the rest of the battle was quite one-sided. She didn't get the chance to use any more moves against the legendary, which Leon could see she was a bit disappointed about. However, she was still surprisingly sunny about the battle. Finally, her Parasect was knocked out, and returned. "Well, That's my main team. I hope it was useful for something." she smiled, approaching with a hand held out. Leon shook it, glad that she was such a good sport after having her bug types torn apart. Delta was too ecstatic about having been able to battle this time to make any snide remarks. "I'm sure a cute little bug like you won't have too difficult a time training up some more. I think you did well, given the ... circumstances." Leon smiled. The girl blushed a bit, and shuffled off towards the pokemon center to heal up her pokemon.

After healing up Delta's very mild battle wounds, Leon couldn't help but ask the legendary something. "So, if you were so eager to show me how the power of your megastone, why weren't you mega evolved?" he asked. The dragon seemed to wince at the question before turning and sending a glare right at him. "Y-YOU STUPID MEATBAG! I'LL SHOW YOU WHEN I AM READY!" she growled. It was not very obvious, but she sounded a tinge embarrassed about it. Leon smirked at her until she turned away, grumbling. He didn't press the legend, though, and instead started to look into whether he was prepared enough to battle Chuck.
Setting down his bag, Leon decided to pace about with pokedex in hand, looking at his team's info and comparing it to what info he had on Chuck. It looked like there were two problem pokemon. The Poliwrath had Hypnosis, and the Hitmonchan was well equipped for taking down flying types. That Ice Punch would be pretty bad for Nova and Delta. As he puzzled over strategizing his way around those issues, Kai took great interest in Leon's bag. Something in there smelled good to him, and by gosh he found it and gobbled it up. It wasn't a very big mushroom, and in fact, it didn't taste as good as it had smelled. It left a sweet taste in his mouth.

Suddenly, Delta decided that she would mega evolve. "THERE. FIND ME A BATTLE." she huffed, arms crossed. Leon chuckled a bit and shook his head. This was quite the odd legendary. He didn't have to find a battle, however. A younger guy approached with a determined look on his face, challenging him to a battle. Leon accepted, and soon found out why the boy seemed confident. He was a fairy type trainer. This didn't phase Delta at all. "STUPID WEAK LITTLE FAIRIES. LET'S GO." she said, then went right into battling.
Needless to say, Leon wasn't needed, and the fairies didn't stand a chance at all. In fact, Delta was unscathed by the time the trainer ran out of pokemon. The boy ran off, presumably in embarrassment and to heal up his team. "That seemed kinda brutal..." Leon commented, rubbing the back of his neck. While Delta had been engrossed in battle, the lifeguard couldn't help but notices a bit of ruckus going on further down the beach. So before Delta could even respond to his comment, he took off.

After a bit, Leon looked over his active party once more, checking movesets and trying to figure out if he was ready for Chuck. His pokemon were starting to get a bit high in levels, and he was going to need that badge before he did too much more training. However, as he was looking over movesets, he noticed something different about Kai's moveset in particular. "Moonblast?!? Kai, what the heck did you eat?" Leon exclaimed, looking at his gator. Kai blinked, then shrugged as if he had no clue what Leon was talking about. Then promptly let out a burp of a pink beam out of his mouth. Luckily, it didn't hit anything. "Well then. You're going to have to be my back up in this gym battle, buddy. I think we are as ready as we can get right now." Leon said, shrugging it off. He picked up his bag, now noticing that the balm mushroom was missing from his bag. Ah, that must have been it, right? Oh well. "FINALLY. LET'S GET THIS DONE AND OVER WITH." Delta rumbled, ready for the gym battle. Leon smirked and led the way to the pokecenter to get his pokemon checked out first, then headed over to the gym.

Out Of Ball:
Before entering the gym, Leon returned Delta, due to room constraints. And... well, he wanted to have some element or surprise when he put her to use. Kai and Inari followed him into the gym, all the way back to where Chuck stood. As Leon approached, Chuck lifted a huge boulder and smashed it as a show of his strength. "HIYAAAA YOU SEE THIS STRENGTH?!?" Chuck shouted in a powerful voice. Leon winced a bit, but smiled nonetheless. "I'm here for a battle with your pokemon, not you, Chuck." Leon replied. The man then stared Leon down, before nodding and getting right into battle. Leon sent out Nova, who had been prepped with a chesto berry. Sure enough, Chuck sent out Poliwrath first, using hypnosis. Nova immediately woke up, and Leon instructed her to use Hurricane. It hit hard, causing Poliwrath to eat it's sitrus berry and become confused.
Chuck, seeing that his pokemon was confused, sent out Hitmonchan. Nova used Hurricane again, and confused Hitmonchan. Hitmonchan managed to go down without much of a fight, and when Chuck went to send out his Primeape, Leon sent Inari in. Primeape used Rockslide after rock slide, and the fairy fox only managed to hit it two times with Dazzling gleam. As she was looking really weak, Leon called her back and sent out Delta. The strong winds weakened the next rock slide attacks, in which Delta now had to deal with the flinching. She managed to finish off the Primeape, and then Poliwrath was sent out again. Surprisingly, it managed to work through confusion to put Delta to sleep. This wasn't any good. Leon returned Delta, and sent out Nova.
Poliwrath used body slam, paralyzing Nova, but she worked through it to hit it with Hurricane, which confused the pokemon just after it had gotten over the previous confusion. It was a match against confusion and paralysis, but Nova took down Poliwrath in the end. The final pokemon, Hitmonlee, was sent out. Right away, it used fake out, causing Nova to flinch before hitting her with a High jump kick. The batty dragon was able to pull through it's status condition enough to take down the confused Hitmonlee, and the battle was finally won.

Gym Leader Chuck
"Wahaha!" The powerful gym leader's laughs bellowed through the building, finding another boulder to lift with relative ease. "Go on ahead and do the honors, kid." He tossed the massive chunk of stone over towards Leon's right, landing a good few feet away from him with a less than graceful landing. Loose rock of course fell off and scattered about, but overall, the boulder remained intact. After a few moments of nothing however, it became clear that the raven-haired male wasn't exactly the type to smash boulders after a victory, and with a sigh Chuck finally shook his head and approached Leon himself. "Nevermind then. Regardless, that was a good fight kid, go ahead and collect your rewards." After a quick-actually-minute-long dig into his pockets, the older male finally collected all the items that the challenger had won; the most important being the Storm Badge.

Leon was so relieved at the end of the battle, that chuck caught him off guard by throwing a boulder towards him. He flinched back, even though it didn't even come close to hitting him. It seemed the gym leader had expected him to break it after the victory? "Uh..." Leon stared at the boulder, then looked up at the gym leader as they seemed to dismiss it. Kai, however, disappointed that he didn't get to battle, slammed into the boulder, crushing it to pieces. So the boulder was not completely wasted. Out Of Ball:
It took a lot of thought to figure it out. Nova would be a nice, somewhat secure choice for teaching Fly. However, she still seemed a bit wobbly with her wings in flight, so he kind of doubted if she'd be able to carry him long distances. Also, she had a pretty good moveset at the moment. And then there was Delta.
She was... well, not the most respectful pokemon. However, she was probably the strongest flyer he had. Also, admittedly, it'd probably be way cooler to fly somewhere on a Rayquaza. Maybe it'd even strengthen their bond.
Leon left the pokemon center, decision made. Might as well teach Delta Fly, and hope for the best. he changed around his party slightly, and taught the legendary Fly. He then let out the Dragon. "THAT DAMN FROG!" Delta growled after she was let out. Leon chuckled. "Don't worry. We still won, and you did great." Leon told her. This seemed to go over quite well with her. "Ready to fly? I've got to get to Goldenrod for a bit." he asked the legend. Delta brightened up real quick, and surprising Leon, she lowered her head. "LET'S GO THEN." she rumbled. Leon returned Inari and Kai before Delta shot up in the sky.

After a long hot bath, the red-head felt she wouldn't need to deal with water for much longer. Slipping into some of her older clothes, she felt some relief from the heat if only be a little. Given it was getting into the summer season, pants weren't going to be to good for her, considering how hot her blood ran at times. With Mave, Arietty and Nijrn along with her, the female returned to the beach to find Leon and that Rayquaza were no where in sight. Had they left already? Avikna sharply sighed, turning back to face the city, Mave's gaze caught her own. 'Hmm? Guess we missed our chance to ask them for help.' The wolf grinned. Avikna's dagger-like stare caught the wolf. "Yea...Well, Whatever. I can't stand one overgrown Seviper, let alone two anyway." The red-head replied. "Let's just go take on Chuck."
Not long after they'd found the gym and were heading inside. Avikna had rearranged her team to make the battle go by far quicker than if she'd relied on her less experienced Pokemon. Mave, Arietty and Zelda were to be her hardest hitters. With Zelda's Play rough and Arietty and Mave's flying capabilities she hoped that the battle would be short. After this, she could rely on the two of them to easily take down Jasmine as well.
After entering the gym, a male of substantial gerth took notice of Avikna as she and her team entered. "Another challenger so quickly!?" the man shouted out. Standing like a sumo wrestler, he punched his chest, with a large grin. "Me and my Pokemon are always up for a challenger!" He shouted once more. A Poliwrath appeared from the waterfall behind him, ready and willing to fight once more.

This was the third time in a row, over the course of just a few days, that his team had been beaten-- it was obvious that they'd all need to mediate under a waterfall! Eventually the large man broke out into a smile and he began to laugh, a sound of merriment that boomed throughout the gym, drowning out even the roar of the waterfall behind him. "That was quite the workout!" he exclaimed, making his way to Avikna. "You've certainly shown me and my pokemon you have what it takes. When the battle was over, Avikna took in a deep breath. She'd been holding the air in her lungs for far to long. Mave quickly returned to her trainer's side, offering a horn for Avikna to rest upon. That.. hadn't been as bad as Morty's gym. Type advantage certainly helped. She didn't fault Zelda or Arietty for falling in battle, there was nothing they could do when up against Hypnosis and type advantage. They did their part and fought hard for her, in the end their efforts weren't in vain. When Chuck approached, his loud laughter distracted Avikna from her thoughts. Accepting the items, she nodded in approval, stuffing them down into her bag.
After a few more seconds to collect herself, she looked over to Mave and motioned out towards the sea. "We'll have to return to another city to heal everyone up." Cianwood despite it's large area, didn't hold a Pokemon Center. Gathering herself on Mave's back, the large wolf took flight, leading them off back towards the Whirl islands.
