Darren glanced back towards Sable as she asked what had happened, apparently having missed seeing the punch but noticed the aftermath, offering to take care of the twins, but by then they had already started running off, and Sable still had her hands full. Not that Darren would have asked her to give chase in the first place, but it was a good point to use to dissuade her from doing so anyways. "Ah, it's my fault, I wasn't paying attention and she took the opportunity to hit me." Darren insisted with a weary smile, dropping his hand back to his side to reveal a red and slightly swollen cheek. "Thank you, but it's fine. They're gone, they won't bother us any more." He insisted. "Heh, I don't blame him. It must be embarrassing, needing your girlfriend to do all the dirty work for you.""Honestly I'm more peeved that those losers ran away." The female grunted. Darren ignored their commentary, mostly out of embarrassment that they'd just called Sable his girlfriend, and also because he didn't really have any sort of remark to counter with.
Instead, he focused on the new boy whose grotle accidentally dropped the grunt they had been fighting through a new hole in the ground with an earth power. Darren was a bit amused, but then began to wonder, thinking back to all the earth powers that hercules had used. Was he the reason that the floor had given way...? All this time he'd thought the Rockets had started all of this, but the realization that he had potentially gotten them in this mess..... Darren snapped out of his guilt riddled thoughts as Gavyn asked if they needed any help. Now that neither one of them was dealing with Rockets, Darren approached the boy with a small smile. "I think we're fine. Sable should be able to handle those three, and if not, we can step in. Are you okay though? You looked like you had quite the fall there..." He frowned.
Flynn sniffed curiously at Gavyn, since he found the boy's scent to be rather different than any other human he was used to smelling. It was very strange and interesting, but a good smell, kind of earthy. Hercules approached Beth with a smile, though he paused to glance down curiously through the hole she had made, tempted to go play in the water below, but figured he probably shouldn't considering it wouldn't be easy to get back up. With that, he finished closing the distance between himself and the grotle and watched as she inspected the cave. ("Heya!") He greeted. ("What are you looking at?") He asked curiously, attempting to follow her line of sight. Mei on the other hand was glaring at the jolteon nearby, but was too tired to really do anything. In spite of the dark cave's nice conditions for her eyesight, it was still daytime, and she was tired, so she dug herself a small pit and nestled inside of it for the time being. Darren observed her behavior curiously. He recalled that meleeon were nocturnal creatures, so her tiredness wasn't too surprising, but her aggression towards Gavyn's jolteon was strange. He would have to look more into that later.

It wasn't long before Mitsu spotted another Paras and decided to see how well Hanataro did against one this time. Swing the Eevee out, Hanataro chased down Paras and jumped in its way to stop it from moving.

He seemed to be havk gfun, though didn't seem to realize he was battling. It was like a game to him. Huh. Mitsu cringed when Paras ran up to Hanataro and bit him, seeming to suck on him like a vampire. Leech Life. Of course....This one knew that move. Thankfully, it didn't hurt Hanataro all that much and he finished the battle with Tackle.

Sable frowned at Darren's insistence to just let the chumps go, but she wouldn't press the issue. Instead, she would give a glare to the loudmouth that decided to try and embarrass Darren."I don't think you have much room to talk..."the teen began as the grunt reluctantly recalled his fallen gulpin."...Considering your hesitation in bringing out your next pokemon."The operative flinched a bit at that comment, and it seemed Sable was right to think something was off. She soon got her answer as the other male grunt recalled his fallen croconaw and stepped back."That's it. I'm tapped,"the guy admitted despite the grumbling of his partners.
At that moment, it looked like the new guy had finished dealing with his opponent, and rather fittingly, too. After all, if the younger trainers had to deal with tumbling down a hole in the ground, it was only fair for someone else to deal with the same problem. Since the fight was done and apparently there was nothing else to worry about, the meek trainer asked to see if the other two needed any help."Seems like things are winding down over here, so I should be fine,"Sable replied after Darren commented on her being the only one still battling. She then turned her attention back to the trio of Rockets, mostly focusing on the female and the grunt that had originally put his foot on Darren's back but still keeping an eye on the last one in case he wanted to try something without his pokemon. He didn't seem quite that stupid, but it was better to not take the chance.
The grunt that had been cockiest didn't look thrilled at the idea of letting out another pokemon. His partner eyed him with annoyance."Don't tell me you actually brought that thing with you..."she warned, at which point the guy suddenly turned defensive."I've been trying to get it to evolve! Not my fault these pests were tougher than the usual brats!"he exclaimed, then sighed as he grabbed the third ball on his belt."Let's just get this over with..."As the operative lamented upon the situation, the ball clicked open and the pokemon within was released to flop upon the ground.
Sable couldn't help but stare dumbfounded at the sight of the pokemon in front of her."...Really...? You're sending out... A magikarp?"The teen could barely believe the situation, but sure enough, the guy's last pokemon... Was a magikarp. Sure, its evolution was a powerhouse, but this one was looking like it wasn't anywhere close to being ready to evolve yet. The teen was conflicted for a moment, then let a rumbling sigh as she made her decision."Recall it. I don't like the idea of beating up a magikarp,"she told the operative, and while he looked like he was about to tell the teen off at first, a Leaf Tornado blown down the line by the teen's servine was enough to make him change his mind and return the fish to its ball. Then, all it took was a few noisy chirps from Aroma and a bite from Amethyst and the audino was brought down.
With all but one of their pokemon incapable of battling, and even that last one being so useless even their opponent felt sorry for them, two of the trio of Rockets turned to one another."Uh... Crap, that girl was better than she looked.""I thought for sure she'd lose more than a pidgey to us...""...Now what...?"After her last question, the female operative turned to look at the third member, only to find that he already ran off deeper into the cave to get away from the teens."Really?!""Oh, haaaaaail no! I'm not taking the blame for this one!"the two shouted as they ran after their fleeing companion.
Once the duo were out of sight, Sable grimaced and quickly grabbed for some potions and other supplies."Oaken, you're first,"she said as she quickly checked the site of impact for when the servine was hit with that sludge from the gulpin. The Rockets hadn't caught on, but Oaken was really reeling from the effects of the poisonous attack. While cleaning out the wound, Sable looked over at where Darren and the new guy were talking. She considered asking for one of them to check on her other pokemon while she was busy, but Amethyst and Aroma hadn't had to deal with much coming their way. She then looked down at Lily to see how she was faring, but it seemed the little sandshrew she had been sniffing at had brought a pecha berry with it when it tumbled into the room with the new guy, so at least the gekkit was able to get her poisoning taken care of. Although, seeing it now... Did that sandshrew have all those injuries when it first fell in?
Frowning, the teen finished up with treating Oaken's injuries and quickly recalled the grass starter."Get some rest for a while,"she told the pokemon as it was sucked inside the ball, then clipped the ball onto her belt and knelt down."Looks like you had a rough time, too,"she told the little sandshrew as she carefully looked it over. She was a bit hesitant to touch it, though, since she still thought it was just a wild sandshrew. The ground type looked confused about the human's actions for a moment, then looked at itself and hung its head as if it just realized something."Riiiiiight... Oops,"the little thing mumbled, and then its appearance started to crumble until the sandshrew was gone and in its place was a little zorua.
Sable let out a few strained sounds of surprise at the sight, but quickly pieced together who the little dark type most likely was."Yikes... No wonder it took you so long... Who did this...?"the trainer mumbled as she patched up the dark type's injuries."Some of the same sort of guys you were just facing. They were hanging around the entrance and I guess I was just the unlucky guy they decided to mess with..."he explained, trying to keep the volume down but probably still being audible to Darren and the new guy. Sable growled a bit as she continued to clean out the various bites, scratches, and scrapes the dark type managed to accumulate.

He was so happy Hanataro evolved, and into a Sylveon even! It was great! Mitsu was so happy that he refused to let Hanataro go. But, the Sylveon didn't mind, so Mitsu wasn't guilty about it. Taking a seat on the ground, Mitsu pet Flynn's head softly before laying back. He was suddenly very tired.

Gavyn was glad that the other two trainers down here seemed friendly enough. The male had smiled and approached as he answered. The spectacled male smiled back, fidgeting sheepishly. "I-I have had worse... Thank you very much for your concern though." he replied, then felt something sniffing at him. He looked down to see a charmeleon that was intently sniffing him. It was a bit unnerving, but the lizard seemed to mean no harm. "Er... hello there?..." Gavyn commented. He wasn't scared - no, it was more of a slight discomfort of not knowing how to handle fire type pokemon as well as he knew grass types. He shuffled his feet a bit, gently offering his hand to the charmeleon in a friendly greeting.
It soon seemed like the female - Sable - finished off fighting the goons before they ran off, leaving the three trainers there with just their pokemon. Now that the 'rockets' were gone, it seemed like a good time to do proper introductions. "A-allow me to introduce myself. My name is Gavyn Woods." Gavyn took a deep breath and introduced himself. He usually would offer his hand in greeting, but... since he came to this time, he's noticed how many people didn't greet each other with a hand shake anymore. "And I'm Merlin!" the clefairy chimed in, joining Gavyn and observing the curious charmeleon. "And that's Daisy over there, and that's Elizabeth, my starter." Gavyn finished his side of introductions, seeing as Merlin had joined in. Then, he couldn't help but noticed the sandshrew from before transformed into a ... fox of some kind. It definitely startled the green eyed male as he ungracefully stumbled back a few steps. "Wh-what... but.. but that was..." he mumbled, face a bit red as he grew embarrassed by his 'outburst'.
Daisy remained sleeping, and very much unaware of the meleeon's glare. Beth, however, was very much awake and excited about this new environment, tail swaying a bit behind her. A Marshtomp joined her, starting a converstation. The bright eyed grotle turned to look at the pokemon. ("Hi! I'm Beth!") she greeted the marshtomp, then looked off into the cave. ("Just all around, really. There's lots of fresh water below! This place is exciting!" ) Beth replied, then smiled widely. The Grotle was really looking forward to adventuring through this cave.

Darren nodded as Gavyn insisted that he was fine, though he seemed to look quite uncomfortable. A quick glance over to his side revealed that the source of his discomfort was actually Flynn sniffing near his shoulder and arm quite intently. "Come on Flynn, give the poor guy some space." Darren chuckled. Flynn gave a snort Darren's way, as if to say "what...?", but Gavyn didn't seem to mind too much, greeting the charmeleon timidly and offering a hand, which Flynn happily ducked his head under to rub up against in greeting. "Heh, I think he likes you~" Darren chuckled. It didn't take long for Sable to drive the rest of the rockets away, what with her only competition being the audino that the female grunt had. The magikarp really just... Didn't count as an opponent and the third grunt was out of pokemon. With that, the trio was quick to run off and avoid any farther trouble. Darren only wished the twins had done the same. He rubbed his cheek a bit again with a grimace. It was more of a dull throbbing pain, not too bad, but he still wished it wasn't there.
While Sable healed up her team, Gavyn decided to take the opportunity to introduce himself. "Hey Gavyn, it's nice to meet you." Darren offered a friendly smile, chuckling a bit as his clefairy introduced himself as Merlin. "How interesting... A telepathic clefairy? I suppose they are capably of learning Psychic. Well, regardless, it's nice to meet you too Merlin, Daisy, and Elizabeth. Darren nodded to each of the pokemon in turn. "I'm Darren, and this big nosey guy is Flynn, my starter." Darren said with amusement and he shouldered the charmeleon playfully, earning him a grunt of mock annoyance. "And down here is Mei. Careful though, she's not quite as friendly as Flynn..." Darren warned. She would probably be mostly harmless since it was still daylight, and she was tired, but he was going to need some sort of sweets and flashing object to train her. Now that introductions were out of the way, Darren needed to tend to Flynn. "Come here you, we need to spray down the area that those sneasel and weavile hit." Darren insisted, pulling out a few potions to take care of the issue.
Afterwards, Darren turned his attention to Sable and the sandshrew that had fallen with Gavyn. He had thought the sandshrew was the other boy's, but given the way it stuck with Sable, he supposed not. His suspicions were confirmed as the sandshrew guise peeled away to reveal the little zorua underneath. Jin... Darren thought with a frown, making his way over to the pair to make sure he was alright, too focused on the zorua to notice Gavyn's surprise. He caught the tail end of the quiet explanation, and shook his head in sympathy. He laid a gentle hand down on her shoulder while she worked. Sable was clearly upset, their encounter hadn't exactly been a positive one. Now with Jin's situation, she probably wasn't feeling much better. "Hey. How is he?" Darren asked hesitantly. He could see that Jin's condition wasn't good, it was obvious, but... It was an invitation for Sable to vent her feelings so that she wouldn't bottle up her feelings and explode.
Hercules brightened as Beth introduced herself, explaining how excited she was just being in the general area. ("Hehee~ Yeah, I saw that! It's so tempting to jump right in down there, but I don't think that's a good idea. My trainer would probably have a heart attack...") He grinned sheepishly. ("Oh! I'm Hercules, by the way.") The marshtomp introduced himself to return the favor. ("Your bushes look so fluffy! Can I touch them??") He asked curiously. He'd never seen a grotle before.

While Darren and the other person - Gavyn, apparently - introduced themselves and their pokemon to one another, Sable kept mostly quiet and continued to patch up her team. She wasn't trying to be rude, and if the circumstances were different she would have been willing to add her own introductions to the mix. At the moment, though, there were other things on her mind than passing around names as she made sure her pokemon were all healed up. As she worked, her eyes occasionally flitted between the darkened areas surrounding the group and the way that they had entered their current location. She wasn't keen on there being any more nasty surprises while the group was stuck licking their wounds.
Focused on her concerns, while Sable was aware of Gavyn's surprise, she didn't see much need to comment on it. There wasn't much to say, other than the appearance-changing being a zorua thing. She was also aware of Darren coming over to her and avoided tensing up, twitching, or anything else that might have made treatment harder than it needed to be when his hand was placed on her shoulder."...I'll be fine. They landed some good hits, but it's not much worse than you'd expect from a normal fight,"Jin answered after a long silence made it clear Sable wasn't going to be giving Darren a reply to his question. The bit of reassuring didn't make his trainer speak up any sooner, either.
It was only after Sable was done patching up Jin's injuries that she gave the dark type a rub on the head and let out a sigh."What will we do now?" she suddenly asked, then turned her head to look at the two trainers."As it stands, we have three options: Climb out the way we came, search one of these tunnels for another way up, or stay here until someone finds us. None of them are good options."Sable grimaced as she checked her gear."Those goons went somewhere, and I doubt they're the strongest ones down here. They'll have to tell their higher-ups something, and there's very little chance that whatever explanation they give as to why at least five teams - six if they fish out the one Gavyn battled - were brought down in such a short span of time within the same area,"she explained, providing the reasoning behind two situations she was concerned about."Stay or go, if there are more than those six nearby on this layer, and it's very likely there are, they will come to check on this area sooner or later. Plus, if we go searching for a way out - they have to have a way up from down here, it didn't sound like those goons were stuck on this level..."As the teen trailed off, she shook her head a bit once she noticed she had gotten off track."Anyway, it means we're very likely to encounter more of them if we try to search the tunnels for the way up."As she continued to explain, Sable obviously disliked her own words less and less.
The teen then let out another sigh and looked upwards towards the hole that the group had fallen through to end up down below."I've got a way for us to get back up there, but then we run into another possible problem... Some of those goons were apparently chasing down my zorua."A grimace formed on Sable's face after pointing out the source of the problem."Depending on how close or far they might have be, that means there might be some of them milling about up above... And one well-placed attack on the way up will send whoever's going there back down in a hurry..."Jin winced at the prospect, having an idea of what Sable's way of getting someone up to the hole in the ceiling would be and mentally agreeing that it wouldn't be that hard to knock someone off a hoverboard if they were being directed up there.

Yeah. The problem was, both sides are trying to set up their ideal situations while, at the same time, each side is trying to keep the other from rolling over them with their comboes. Sable just happened to be more used to the idea of multi-battles than most people they usually go up against.

Gavyn was relieved that the Charmeleon seemed to like him. He wouldn't have wanted the rather large fire lizard to be aggressive to him. Those claws looked like they could seriously hurt, nevermind the fire burning on it's tail. He gave a gentle pat to the lizard's head as it placed it's head beneath his hand, feeling the warm scaley skin. It was... an interesting experience. "H-heh... Well, I think he is quite likable himself." Gavyn commented as the male had mentioned the charmeleon liking him.
They soon moved on to introductions, and shortly after introducing Daisy, he decided to return her to her pokeball, since she was sleeping anyways. "I-it is nice to meet you, too, Darren. Er... though... it isn't the most... desirable ways of meeting people... in such situations..." Gavyn smiled in return, but his voice fell into a nervous mumble towards the end. Did that sound stupid..? "Indeed! You are a sharp young man, Darren. It is a pleasure to meet you!" Merlin exclaimed after Darren's comment, giving the male a toothy grin. Flynn turned out to be the name of Darren's Charmeleon partner, and the odd pokemon nearby was Mei, who was introduced as 'not so friendly'. He... never saw such a pokemon before, but did feel a bit unnerved that it might be violent. At least it seemed... too sleepy to do anything right now.
While Darren and Sable were healing up their pokemon, Gavyn had a surprised reaction as the sandshrew that had knocked him into the hole turned into some kind of fox. He was so perplexed that he nearly fell back in shock. What... was... that thing? Was it... like a ditto...? That couldn't be right... right? It seemed like he wasn't going to learn about it, as things still seemed a bit tense. After all, they had just fought off some hooligans and were still stuck down a floor. It wouldn't be good to run into more of them... whoever they were. Sable took the reigns of the situation, getting to work on trying to figure out a way out of this place, and the issues there were. Gavyn quietly waited until she seemed to be finished talking, shuffling a bit, then letting Rosemary out. The Bayleef rustled her leaves, letting out a slightly spicy aroma in the air as she came out, looking around at the very different surroundings. She... seemed less then pleased at being in a cave. "Er... I... um, well... This is Rosemary. She can help us up through the hole... - Is that alright, Rosemary?" Gavyn offered up the help of his Bayleef. Despite her obvious disgust with the dirty and danky cave, she gave a nod in agreement, extending her vines and wiggling them a bit, waiting for orders on what to do. "I, too, can assist with Psychic." Merlin chimed in, more than willing to help out. "I can even pop up there to see if there's anyone there to be worried about - nothing suspicious about seeing a clefairy in Mount Moon, right?" he added.
Beth was more than happy to socialize with the Marshtomp. ("Aw, that's too bad! Maybe some other time I can lead you to some fresh water that's easier to get to!") Elizabeth commented. Admittedly, she kind of wanted to jump down their too, but then it would be difficult to get back up. And well... she didn't know how deep that water was, and she wasn't even sure if she could swim! ("It is nice to meet you too, Hercules!") Beth cheered after he introduced himself. She turned back to look at her trainer as he released Rosemary. It sounded like they were trying to figure a way to get up through a hole in the cavern ceiling. She looked back at the Marshtomp as he requested to touch her bushes, though. Beth gave a little shake, the leaves on her bushes rustling a bit. ("Sure! Go right on ahead!") she exclaimed, not minding at all if Hercules touched her bushes. It was an odd request, but not really a bother at all.
Gavyn was startled a bit as he heard a voice from above, calling out to the other two trainers by their names. Rosemary looked up through the hole, noticing a charmeleon and it's pale trainer peering down. She tilted her head, then looked to the other humans. "O-oh... Is that... an acquaintance of yours?" Gavyn asked Darren and Sable, not sure about the voice from above. Wasn't it a bit too convenient timing for someone they knew to come by and notice them? As strange as it was, if the other two knew and trusted the male above them, then maybe it was okay...? "We are just having a grand ol' time down here, good sir! Though, while you are up there... Do you happen to see any goons around? Some hooligans with 'R's on their shirts?" Merlin called up to the pale boy, a little bit of playful sarcasm at first.
