Mister Monster Guy

Falinn - Anon

It seemed neither of her friends had any intention of going towards where the scary crash had come from. That was enough to satisfy the mermaid, so she started to follow after Monster as he headed towards the booths with the stuffed animals.

Their walk was abruptly halted, however, as a white-haired girl suddenly fell and landed on top of Monster. River let out a startled eek as her eyes widened. Just as quickly as she'd appeared, however, she disappeared. Blinking in bewilderment, she looked around, trying to determine where the girl had come from - as well as where she'd gone, but there weren't really any clues left.

"Monster...a-a-are you o-okay?" She scurried to her friend's side to make sure he was alright after being landed on.

Gwen blinks up at the lady, eyes burning a little from the dust getting in them as her nose starts to itch. When the words finally click in her muddled head, she quickly takes the handkerchiefs and blows her nose with one, then quickly covers her nose with the other. "Thank you... Judging from what you just said, you know what just happened to me?"

"Unfortunately," she couldn't help but giggle in reply. "What you are covered in is stardust that has been refined to focus on transportation. It's helpful, but at the same time, if you happen to get coated in it, it can have some rather annoying effects." She ran her fingers though the air, catching a few of the sparkling particles on her fingers and inspected them carefully. "Looks like whichever one coated you hadn't done it intentionally though. The rest of the dust should run out of power fairly quickly." She turned her attention towards the younger girl again and gave a bow of her head. "I'm truly sorry for the trouble my charge caused you."

Orrin kept looking back, but there were no signs of Minty. This was precisely why he hated having friends so. Just another thing to worry about... Was she lost? The zombie hated being lost, even though he usually were. She shouldn't be lost on her own... It would be much better to be lost together, he thought. Because when things got scary, was it so much better to have someone to hug. That he knew for sure.

So the green guy hid his precious pie treasure at the cotton candy stand, putting the plush rabbit to guard it for him, as he set of to look for a damsel in distress. But which way had he come from...? Orrin really hadn't a clue. It had been much easier to remember the location of sweets, somehow... But he set off either way, in whichever direction seemed slightly less frightening, hoping for some luck. Even though he rarely had any.

"Oh, so you're the reason there are sparkly shiny bits flyin' around just waiting for unsuspecting people to grab them and drag them around buildings full of mirrors." Gwen huffs, then coughs as she accidentally inhales a mouthful of stardust. She stands up and quickly moves away from the floating glitter, pouting a little when she looks down at herself. "Ugh, I look like some kids art project vomited on me... So much glittery bits."

"...'to grab them and drag them around buildings full of mirrors.' Didn't you think to just...let go?" The redhead raised an eyebrow at the accusation. She shook her head, "It'll vanish once the power runs out." While the girl inspected herself, Lucky hoisted herself over the side of the booth, inspecting the floor and under the shelves from the inside. She wasn't sure of the exact shape of the Astrolabe, or if it gave off any light. So it might have rolled under something, or just be sitting leisurely in the shadows for all she knew.

"Yeah well..." Gwen pouts even more, arms folding, "My feet stopped touching the ground and I didn't feel like the idea of possibly being flung into glass if I let go." Her nose starts to itch and she quickly covers it again. She stares silently at the shorter woman for a moment before looking up at the shiny sparkly bit floating near her. "... What are they anyway?"

"Did they now...? I'll have a word with them about that." Leave it to the young ones to get over excited like that. This is why she preferred to stick with one or two. But given the missing relic, she had made an exception this time. Who would have thought they'd make friends...in what she guessed was the house of mirrors no less. She knelt, getting a better look under one of the counters as her shining companion illuminated the said area. "Would you believe me if I said they're stars."

And the werewolf is back to staring at the red head. "... Stars are giant balls of gas and s**t in space, so no I normally wouldn't" Gwen lowers the handkerchief from her nose, the stardust finally fading away, "But I just saw a talking jabberwocky a little while ago, so I'm pretty open minded to weird s**t right now." She looks back at the 'star', frowning slightly and subtly sniffing the air now that it's clear of dust. The lady didn't smell like a human, but she wasn't sure what she smelt like. And then she realized something rather important... "Oh, I'm Gwen, by the way."

Sammy saw as the other two did - Gwen suddenly appear in the maze then sneeze and poof her way right back out. Or at least it looked like her anyway, it all happened so fast. Sammy stopped short and blinked a couple of times while Xashowd investigated. "I knew this place was dusty...but I guess I underestimated exactly how dusty..." she commented, sliding a finger along the wall and studying the mark it left on her glove. She frowned at her findings. "Poor Gwen..." But Xashowd had a different theory. Even if it was wrong, it was worth looking into. Sammy nodded dutifully, grabbed his hand, and ran them back out the entrance of the haunted house. "Mm! C'mon, there's no time to lose!"

Lady Ravena Vauville

"I..well I do not really see, but I shall take your word for it."
Now that he was solid, Tobias was aware of the dust and shook his head breathing out in an attempt to clear some of it from his nose. No luck, and he turned his head to sneeze a few times. Giving her an apologetic smile, he shrugged.
"Not in this case, though I believe it has not seen a visitor in some time. Judging merely by the amount of dust that kicked up, mind you."
Stepping back, he dusted his hands off as best he could by brushing them together. Looking back at her as she spoke, he raised a brow.
"Visitors, such as..?"
At that moment, he heard a voice as well and turned to look in the direction it came from. Unfortunately, he happened to get an eyeful of the star's reflected light in one of the many mirror pieces. Immediately, he hissed in pain covering his eyes.
"s**t, what the hell?!"
Concentration broken, and apparently manners momentarily forgotten, he faded back to smoke backing up some and still shielding his eyes.
"Forgive me. I take it a star is here?"
Since her voice seemed calm, he took it to mean she didn't feel threatened. Thus, Tobias took a moment to simply let his eyes try to adjust to the brightness. It seemed he might have to squint a good deal for now though.

"There is a lot of dust here, though I would wager a guess that has to do with no one keeping this place clean.." Nothing about this entire park was even remotely "clean". Rae would have to watch what she touched, armored gauntlets or not.

She'd been about to answer him, when some sort of star collision occurred nearby. Oh dear, from the sounds of things, a couple of little ones got too excited, and now there was stardust everywhere around the corner. Crunching her way over, the tiny pink-haired princess blinked in surprise at the appearance of Gwen, only to watch her disappear in yet another poof of stardust. Since Rai's brand of stardust was blue, and this stardust was gold, she could only assume another little one was the culprit.

"My, my, my... what a mess..." she murmured, keeping the bandana secure around her nose and mouth. Ravena was perpetually covered in stardust anyway, and this new addition of sparkly bits didn't bother her in the least, though from the sound of Toby's irritated expletive, it bothered him quite a bit. Letting out a small sigh of exasperation, she listened to the stars for a moment, shaking her head in amusement.

"It's pink, you rascals!!" she called after them in their own language. Tapping the excess glass from the bottoms of her boots, she made her way back over to Toby, carefully approaching her once more smokey companion. Luckily for him, most of the brightness had dissipated. Signaling to Rai for him to stay back for now, she held a hand out to Toby.

"Were. Two of them, actually. it's a glitter explosion just around the corner, so we should continue searching in the other direction for now. Are you alright?" Rae kept her voice low to try and soothe the startled male. She knew he was from a world where it was rather dark, and all this light couldn't be good for his sight. Whether or not he chose to take her hand was up to him. She just wanted to make sure he was okay before continuing their search for the elusive astrolabe.

Lady Ravena Vauville

Tobias was still trying to get the blotches from his vision to go away when he heard a noise. Squinting, he tried to look in that direction and heard a sneeze. There also seemed to be some golden sparkles floating about from around the corner. He was still blinking as she came back into view and held out her hand.
"Gone already? I can just barely see some of it."
Trying to give her a reassuring smile, he made himself solid and took her hand. Giving it a gentle squeeze, he turned his head to gaze in the other direction from the glitter explosion.
"I am alright, just having a little trouble seeing. I shall be fine momentarily, though I might need to move a little slower for a moment."

Minty sauntered nonchalantly down the rows of fair booths keeping an eye out for the cotton candy one. It had to be around here somewhere. The fairgrounds weren't infinite. There was movement up ahead, and voices, female. Definitely not Orrin.

Sticking to the shadows, she crept up on the women, they were talking about the stars. Most likely either treasure hunters or the original thieves back for their score. Either way, probably safest to leave them alone, right?

With her back pressed up as close to the booth behind the women as she could get, Minty began to sneak past. She must have hit a switch or something because suddenly the game booth lite up like the Forth of July, tortured music pouring forth through jangly speakers.

Oops. So much for sneaking. Time to run.

Minty took off hell-for-leather down the rows of booths.

"A Jabberwoky?"
The redhead paused in her search to look up at the younger girl, now dubbed Gwen. That wasn't exactly something she expected to hear was hiding in the fairground, even on Gaia. But one look at the younger girl's face said she was not lying. Oh, she probably wished she was, but she wasn't. "Well I'll admit they can be little shits, but that doesn't make up their composition," she said with a slight smirk, "The big ones fall under your description though I guess. Friends call me Lucky-"

She stopped short when suddenly the booth sprung to life. Music, sound effects, flashing lights, the whole sha-bang! She jumped back, looking around quickly for what she bumped. As she did though, a girl darting away caught the corner of her eye. But before she could call to her, the girl vanished down a row of booths. "Who was that?" she wondered aloud. For a moment, she wondered if that girl was perhaps the thief returning for her prize. She had no proof though, so she tucked the idea away for now.
