"Hmm..." Porter hadn't really cared about what was in the bag his son had discovered before, but with the way this pae was talking, he was now very curious what was in the bag.
Remy didn't really understand what all this adult conversation was about, he just wanted to know what was in the bag. And finally, finally it was revealed to him! "Oooo" Remy said his eyes glittering in amazement at what he had discovered at the beach. He had no idea what it was, but it looked cool to him. "Whatisit?" Remy repeated, his head tilting and ears flopping lazily to the side.
Porter lived in the forest and had never seen anything like that before. He narrowed his eyes thoughtfully and shook his head, certain he didn't know, but it sounded like she did.
((Haha, now that we have a break in prize rolling... XD))
Still careful not to touch the object, remembering what had happened last time, Takeko smiled gently at the child's eager curiosity. "It's a very, very special seed pod, from a very special tree," she explained simply, then turned her attention upward towards his father. "Very special," she said pointedly, preparing to explain.
The conversations at the booth had gone on for sometime before finally disturbing someone's nap. Yawning, the little caterpae stirred and blinked her eyes against the light that filtered into the booth. Darn it...she'd said no nap! Now she'd probably missed all kinds of cool stuff! Mom was talking to someone outside the booth. Stretching, she climbed to her feet and sleepily crawled over to see who was on the other side. She could see the adult's face and wings just over the counter and confusion flickered over her face.
"Danyyyyyy? How come you moved your colors? Moooom, I wanna' move my colors 'round too!"
Takeko paused her explanation, looking down at the wakened Xiulan with a smile. "Have a nice nap, honey?" She picked up the small child, kissing her head and setting her on the counter after a hug. "You must still be sleepy. This isn't cousin Danya, sweetheart. So no, you can't move your colors around." She laughed lightly, turning toward their audience again.
"As I said, a very special seed pod. I found one myself in the Fae Clearing. I thought it might grow a tree...not a little one, like this."

When the young girl called him 'Dany', it didn't even cross Porter's mind that she had mistaken him for his brother. The child didn't look familiar to him, in fact he didn't even know what it was. At the moment, Porter was too interested in what kind of seed his son had found. The female had made it quite clear to him that it was very special in a way that made him think it wasn't an ordinary tree seed.
When Takeko said the name of his brother... his concentration on the seed snapped. The next sentence that she directed at him was a complete blur for him. "Melek's son, Danya?" How many Danya's could their really be on this island? As soon as the words escaped from his mouth the puzzle pieces began to fit together. Takeko was his grandmother's name, he had never met her so he didn't even think when he met this Takeko that she was the same one his father had talked about. "I'm Porter..." he said with a stunned look on his face.
The boy, Remy, quirked his eyebrows at his father, not understanding what was going on. "And I'm Remy!" he added after his father's introduction, not wanting to be forgotten about.

Realizing that her suspicions had been correct, and seeing the shift in the other at his question, Takeko allowed herself to smile warmly now, nodding. "Melek's my boy, yes." When he introduced himself, she knew. She'd known his name of course...though she'd never seen him before, or had a face to match that name. Emerging from the booth, she opened her arms, a welcoming gesture for a hug, though she'd let him decide to accept or not. "A pleasure to meet you, Porter...I'm Takeko."
Giggling at the child's response, Takeko turned to Remy after greeting Porter. "A pleasure to meet you too, Remy!" She crouched, gently ruffling his hair with a smile.
Up on the booth counter, the caterpae's dark eyes were wide, passing from one figure to the next. She showed no shyness, only curiosity. Everyone else was introducing themselves, so she thrust out her chest proudly and exclaimed, "And I'm Xiulan!" Crawling to the edge of her perch, she peered down at the other child for a moment before adding, "I really like your wings!" with an adorable giggle.
These are the prize wheel prizes + Bree's because she has so many cakes, she was bound to attract at least one.

Porter grinned, he was finally meeting the grandmother he had always heard about. He certainly hadn't expected to meet her in a chance encounter like this one. "Wow, its so good to finally meet you Takeko." Porter said as he accepted the hug. Somehow seeing Takeko and then finding out she was his grandma, seemed to explain so much about his father. "Remy, this is your great... grandmother. Remy is one of my boys. I have two more at home with their mother." It had been a long time since Porter has seen his mother, and even longer since he had seen his father, so he doubted Melek even knew about the boys to tell Takeko.
"Oh... that's cool." Remy had no idea what a grandmother was, he had never met Diona either, let alone a great-grandmother. But if the word great was attached to it, it had to be cool. "Thanks!" Remy said turning to Xiulan with a flutter of his wings. "Where are yours?" The boy's ears flopped as he tilted his head on its side. A child with no censor built in just yet.

Leaving the children to socialize, Takeko had turned her attention to Porter. "Two more at home? Goodness, you must have your hands full!" She frowned, thinking about this and letting her gaze drift from Xiulan to the seed pod still in its pouch. "Three little ones are going to keep you pretty busy already. But...a fourth? I mean, if I'm correct..."
Xiulan's eager smile quickly faded at the question. Her posture slumped and she self-consciously glanced over her shoulder for a moment at the 'nothing' behind her. "....don't have any," she answered with clear disappointment. After only a brief pause, however, she seemed to perk up a bit. "But, I can do this instead!" Crawling to the edge of the booth counter, she planted one of her feet on the edge, then the next over...soon crawling down the front panel of the booth until she was hanging nearly head-height with Remy and giggling.
Shaking her head with a smile at the child's antics, Takeko commented to Porter. "She can be a handful as well, but what child isn't? The circumstances are just a bit more...unique to deal with." She frowned slightly, glancing to the seed. "If I'm right, would you be able to take on another little one?"
Porter nodded his head up and down. "Yes, three boys. Especially with personalities like theirs, is a bit much at times." Porter's face showed complete confusion. Fourth? Where had his grandmother get that number from. Porter mentally counted his kids in his head again, his face going pale. No... there was still three of them.
"I'm confused," he said when her attention returned to him, hardly noticing the antics of the child with his head swimming around the idea of four children. "What do you mean by another little one?" At one point, there had been four children in his house while his brother, Lannister, was still young. However, Lannister had always been such a well-behaved child and now he was grown and on his own anyways.
Remy felt bad when the girl showed her disappointment about not having wings. He supposed that wasn't the most polite question to ask, if his father had overheard it he probably would have gotten scolded. "Well, that's ok. Wings aren't that gr- Woah! How you do dat?" Remy asked as his eyes went wide and he tried to tip his head upside down, watching her.

Takeko blinked in confusion for a moment. Had she been unclear? She supposed she must have been vague in her implications, having not come out and said what she meant. Turning to nod towards the children again, she explained, "Xiulan came from a seed pod I found in the Fae Clearing. It looked much like that one that you've both found..."
Giggling, Xiulan waved at her new friend from her vantage point. He looked funny upside down! He wanted to know how she did that? "Always could! Got sticky feets!" she laughed, lifting just one of her feet to wiggle it in the air before hurriedly stamping it down again to keep her grip.
Takeko chuckled at her daughter's antics, shaking her head before turning back to Porter. "The seed cracked when I touched it, exposing a colored layer beneath. That's why I was careful not to touch the one you brought me...just in case. I took it home to study it....I didn't expect it to hatch into a little Pae tot, but....here she is."
